This location, Birmingham uptown. Good morning I'm not is the best U-Haul office I have experienced. I have continued to use this U-Haul office for all my and storage needs ever since then.

The truck was extra noisy and did not have a/c. The actual location for pick up was great.

The straps on the tie-downs were worn out from dragging on the asphalt is my guess. Barely went around the diameter of my tires on my Jeep. Too short, almost didn't secure the tires of the Jeep. We used personal tie-downs to secure the vehicle..

The app and pick up before the store opened did not work. However, Ms. Denecia, the manager, was there early and helped me into a van. She was amazing. Very competent, pleasant and intelligent.

The staff was really nice, but the system to upload your Drivers License to was down so what should've taken 5 minutes took 25 minutes. The checkout lady did offer to let me keep the vehicle longer to make up for it, which was nice of her.

I had a reservation originally scheduled for 3/1…someone from U-Haul changed the date to 3/27 (I have a screenshot of the original reservation confirmed by U-Haul). When I called to change it back, they told me it would be here by 3/7 which is unacceptable. I also received a text from U-Haul stating that my box was ready for pick up on March 2nd, so I asked my movers to get it earlier…they obliged. When they came to pick it up, the location where it was supposed to be picked up told us it hadn't arrived yet. This is the second time in under a year I've had issues with U-Haul. If I can help it, I'll never patronize this business again.

The inside of my U-Haul was absolutely filthy when I received it. And then I go drop it off at the drop off location and I GOT CHARGED for someone else's mess. I will not be using U-Haul again especially with the express towing location the communication was absolutely poor when I got there they did not have anything ready for me and I had to call and wait until someone else arrived and had to go through someone else on the phone to finish up a process would HIGHLY not recommend.

I will NEVER rent another product from your corporation. Unprofessional does not even adequately describe your company. I clearly communicated my needs during the initial rental of the trailer. These needs were completely ignored and threatening communications were implied until the trailer was returned. Clearly it is a complete lack of communication on your corporations part to ensure that things arr concluded in a respectful manner.

What I liked most about this rental experience, was the location. It is my belief that large corporations like Dollar General and Walmart should help small towns by establishing in Main Street where the death of small towns begins. Those stores could profit as well as support the community if they did so. I really appreciate that U-Haul has taken over an abandoned building and saved it, and the history along with it.

The AC was not working.The switch was faulty. It was returned by another customer a few minutes back. It was shown to the staff there and they apologized. But couldn't find another truck in such a short notice. So I needed thr truck, so took it. But the staffs were very respectful

Employee started huffing and puffing because trailer couldn't be backed into spot for return. Said I am making him work now, and he refused to take trailer off vehicle and put into spot. I had to do that for him. Said f*** you you do it then. He then said you better watch out im going to f*** you up, saying i won't do s**t, and would not give me his name.

My whole Uhaul experience was horrible not with the specific location where my husband and I picked up the truck but we did have a issue with pickup location as well. At pick up everything was running smoothly until we paid was informed the truck was down street on the side and it was, informed the agents in store the truck wasn't where they said it was and had to waste additional time for them to finish other people transaction at the register although we paid first and felt as we got pushed back to the end of the line with having to wait again my husband was even more upset because he had to walk down the street with an appliance dolly in the cold. Uhaul change our reservation from the original location to another one and the location they changed it to no one showed up to work. Which they had to find us another location to pick up from. Drop off location was also horrible we got storage unit at the drop off location finish unloading everything and couldn't check in the truck which was at 4:09 pm store didn't close until 10pm the agent at drop off told us when we finish unloading put truck on top of the hill and bring the key to check in but he was gone, left note said he'll be back in 20 mins we sat and waoted over 20 mins which turned to 40 to 1hr. I call the phone to store which wa routed to the agent phone we assured us he had to leave and pick up his daughter from school and on his way back and was on a specific street which wasn't far. Second time when I call he told us to pit the key on the back of the truck and when he return he'll check it back in. That didn't never happen. I did call the following day reported the issue his manager Cierra went ahead and got the truck checked in, said the agen had a family emergency which no one in management was notified of and she was going to get on him. Not only did my Uhaul experience affect my husband and I but it affected other customers as well that sat outside waiting on the agent to return back which he didn't and they couldn't even get a truck to move. We sat a goal to have our keys returned back to our rental company before they close that Friday which didn't happen because Uhaul delayed our time through out that day. Never had a bad experience until 12/29/23 with renting with the company. Moving isn't easy nor a cake walk and U-haul didn't make easier on our part which should have been less stressful.

Unfortunately the agent was filling in for someone and therefore not as well informed. I arrived and as my storage rental was processed I stated I needed to gas up the truck., the agent stated that I should wait until after moving in the unit. Note: A lock was not provided in the unit as the agent stated it would be. Which caused additional delay as we spent time searching for a lock I could use amongst my belongings to be stored. Wed already had to return to the check in counter as we couldn't initially access the floor the unit was on. Note: I'd was told when booking my unit would be in the first floor. Yet learned once there it wasn't available. Do to circumstances I we just decided to go with a smaller size unit. I was then charged additional for an extra day after yet again having issue with your app not functioning properly, multiple times it didn't recognize your location as the correct location. Then required repeat uploads, with it requiring us to restart the process repeatedly. It's too much of a hazel to rerun a truck using your app.

I did not receive my appliance dolly that I reserved. The lady at the front desk was great and explained why the dolly was unavailable. She called the fairgrounds Birmingham location and asked if they could hold a dolly for my to pick up and bring back once I returned from moving. We went to the fairgrounds location and it took 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. We were only acknowledged because my fiancé went to the front desk and approached the customer service representative. The guy at front desk was very rude and said no one had called their store requesting for a dolly. We wasted gas and mileage traveling to their location for a dolly we never received. Communication and customer service should be better.

Overall experience with Birmingham location and staff was great, however my overall experience with U-Haul was worst that horribly unacceptable. Still waiting for a call from supervisory / management representative, nearly seven days since I first requested to speak to someone. I had to move out the storage into a outdoor the storage because the indoor storage was roach infested. I check on my outdoor unit a few month late . Rain somehow got into my storage and a lot of my items got mold on it . If I could give this storage unit a 0/10 I would.

The store manager was never around when needed. I spoke with her on numerous occasions about my account and she told me one thing and did another even indicated that I was lying. I didn't appreciate her attitude nor her tone. There was only 1 young lady running the store when I was trying to handle my business and she was in training. The manager should have never left her alone. The store is handled in a very unprofessional manner. I was charged the full amount for my account even though the manager reassured me I wouldn't. I am a very dissatisfied customer.

Great staff, but I had to sign a contract that I wasn't able to read first. While I was there, a guy who bought a storage auction had some items that were missing. I was required to have a disc lock but the disc locks they had were not good. Overall good management but awful administion by Uhaul Corporate.

When I first moved into the unit, the woman setting everything up was extremely rude. She didn't care about helping me get my account set up. It took 3 different people before someone finally helped me get the online account set up where I could pay online. Everything else was fine.

My storage unit was locked within 20 days of me moving in due to an employee failing to put my rental in the system although I had a physical contract. Even after verifying that I was occupying the unit, an employee still failed to update the information which resulted in my not being able to access my belongings. Even after they realized it was an error in their behalf, the manager called me later that day to tell me it will be a lock placed back on my unit due to a balance of over 1k even though I had only occupied the unit for 20 days and the 1st payment was not yet due. She hung up in my face after telling me I had an attitude with her about MY belongings. They realized it was THEIR error again and the manager argued with me on the phone for 30. I immediately got in touch with the area president who immediately saw it was their error and did not understand why the manager would be callling me at all. The employees are 100 % incompetent, unprofessional, and have no desire to learn the systems to work effectively for the customer. Would not recommend this locations.

Office staff were fairly helpful. Units felt like they were in a safe environment. But when it comes to the actual units, I cannot provide any positive feedback. Unit is marketed as climate controlled but is basically at the same temperature and humidity as the outdoors during the summer. We also had water damage in our unit which led to mold on several books and textbooks. I would not recommend this storage facility to any friends or family based on the quality of the units.

The general manager and two ladies in the office helping me did the best they can despite the horrendous experience and issues I had. Not only are there bugs everywhere and are now going to be in all my things. But I had to pay the guys I hired through uhual moving help an extra 2 hours $160 to move my stuff into 4 separate lockers the night before.

I had to pay a month's worth of storage for 4 days of use this month before moving everything out and closing the account. They need to offer a rebate for the other 26 days its sitting unused (or probably being rented to another customer).

The person that set me up with my truck and storage didn't know that the facility doesn't use a card to access it after hours. I was told to use the card and if that didn't work call. I was scheduled to return the truck at 10:15 pm but couldn't use the storage bc it was occupied. It was a waste of 2 days but at least the manager didn't charge me an extra day with the truck but I had to drive far for a another storage location

I rented a storage unit by the previous management in May . I went back a few months later to check on my belongings and found that i had not been assigned the unit that I had been previously told to use . Long story short Carmena , Kenieth and the u-haul team saved me from a huge loss . I enjoyed my stay at that particular location. I really didn't have any issues, but when I did the staff was able to point me in the right direction. The facility was always clean! I'm glad that they are expanding at that location to offer more storage. My only change I would like to see is maybe adding a netted covering over the storage units because over time the fallen debris from the old building and bird poop gets on your stored items.

Try to charge you extra for anything. Don't supply things that were ordered. Acted like they couldn't rent a truck out when they had 4, had no problem reserving one online and walked right back in. Was mad I was 15 minutes late and still had 3 trucks left. Trying to charge me for storage when I moved out of my unit 1 day after payment was due and did notify them of my intention of moving out and rented the truck from them but won't cancel my unit so they can try and get more money out of me. This is a game to staff they even laugh at giving people issues as if moving isn't enough already.

I was over charged when a team member made a mistake. U-Haul would not take responsibility. When I asked to fix the mistake team members were rude. I saw a rat in storage facility. I will never return to this storage facility and warn everyone not to consider this location for storage needs.

First time using any kind of storage facility. They didn't make it easy to understand nor were they helpful in their description of what to do or where to go. We fingered it out eventually and got everything moved in. The carts at the door were convient and it made the storing stuff faster than moving out.

The Staff, particularly Paul Barnett & the manager lady were rude and threatening and not helpful or willing to help. They insisted that they could not and would not help me. After letting them know that I gave them my business by renting storage at this facility and that someone higher up the chain needed to help resolve my problem, they said that the buck stopped with them.

A little high in price, but worth it for my peace of mind. Clean, great operation there. Laid out for exactly what you need in supplies and storage, with the equipment to help you get the job done!

I was charged for things I shouldn't have been. Staff was very rude especially the general manager Paul who lied to us repeatedly. He is a horrible excuse for a manager and deserves to be fired!

The storage part of the store closed early one night and was locked when I brought a full load ready to unload at my storage unit. I had checked the hours online, as well as called the location to confirm the hours, before I went to load up my trailer to bring to the storage unit. The employee I talked to on the phone informed me that it closed at 7, which matched what it said online. When I got the storage unit around 6:40 the outside doors were locked. I called the store and talked to the same employee, and she told me that it was closed and that she never said it was open til 7 and that I would have to wait until 9am the next day. I begged and tried to plead my case on the phone for them to just come open it for a few minutes so that we could unload our stuff. They refused and argued back. Terrible customer service. They then locked the doors to the store and said it was closed too so that we could not talk to them in person. It would have maybe taken 10 minutes tops for us to get everything unloaded and into our unit. Instead, because of that employee, I had to bring all the stuff back to where I had gotten it and unload it and wait til the next day to do it all over again. Pretty ridiculous, especially after I had called to confirm the times just to make sure nothing like that would happen. Cannot support this location in the future with employees and practices like that

Was told the storage units were open til 7pm on Saturday's when I signed up. Called around 5:30pm on Saturday just to make sure facility would be open til 7 and also checked online. Was told 7pm again. Showed up with a full trailer of things to put into storage around 6:40 pm and the door to the storage entrance was locked. Called the front office and they told us they close at 6:30 and they said that they never told us they close at 7. That was only the beginning of the rude conversation. (I know the workers were just trying to skip out of work early.) They also then locked the doors to the main area so that we couldn't talk to them in person. Because they wouldn't allow us the couple minutes to unload all of our stuff and put it into our storage unit, we had to bring it all back to where we got it from and unload it again. Will have to do it all over again at another time because of the employees. Because of this, I can never recommend this location to anyone.

Yolonda was one of the most friendliest and helpful professionals that i have encountered...in all my uhaul history experience...i would definitely would recommend this facility in the future and would come again...Julia White and Latrecia Smith

From the time of dealing with customer service, I was very please with their patience and concern of my needs. The person advised that he was fairly new there but, I couldn't tell because I think did a good job getting me taken care of. I appreciated him making sure I had the size storage that I needed and taking me to it. He tried to find a storage that would be very convenient for me to get to. I appreciated that.

They did a great job of informing me of policies, of coordinating with Moving Help. Every step was performed in a timely manner. I was very pleased with the whole arrangement.

I loved the people here at this facility!!! I had to keep my things there for 9 mths and every time I called they remembered who I was and had my boxes ready exactly when I needed them. 10 out of 10!!
