The customer experience was extremely poor. I would like to share my experience with the manager. I would not recommend this location as the associates are not clear in communication which lead to escalation to the assistant manager. The assistant manager was helpful but at that point in the reservation I had wasted over two hours on the phone which is unacceptable. The first point of contact with uhaul was not thorough in his explanation of the process and the break down in communication then spilled over to check in at the location in Durham, NC.
Driver seat was wet which meant my butt ended up being wet. Large crack in the windshield from a previous rental. When I went inside to get the keys, the girl at the counter wasn't wearing a mask and it took her a few minutes to put one on. When I returned the van, no one helped me. I ended up doing the after hours return even though it wasn't after hours. I wanted to make sure the van was documented as returned instead of just leaving it there.

I find the miles limit really annoying. When I can look at the distance between pick up/drop off locations and where I am moving my stuff from/to and know it is way over the allowed miles, I should be able to get more miles so I don't have to pay extra, now if I go for a hot ride all over town, that would be dumb. But when closest pick up location is 18 miles from where I am loading the truck, which is 21 miles from where I am unloading the truck which is 10 miles away from closest one way drop off or 20 miles away from in town drop off, there is NO way to be under 30 miles... and I find that to be infuriating. Also we ordered an appliance dolly, and they didn't have one, so that was rather inconvenient.
Arrived with truck and auto-transport to unload my car and drop off the auto-transport. I was told that was a $10 extra charge to unhook the auto-transport. I responded there was no mention of an extra charge in my contract. I was told that Uhaul in St Louis should have told me. I asked the personnel to show me that in the contract. Uhaul personnel failed to do so. This angered me greatly. I didn't pay. I feel that Uhaul personnel at this dropoff location is scamming unsuspecting customers. SHAMEFUL. Uhaul should address this because it's giving you a "bad name".
Leave message when confirming pickup. People are moving and sometimes can't get to their phone. I almost lost my truck because they canceled reservation.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. They value a customers time and make every effort to be efficient while being effective. I like this particular shop.

I rent from this location regularly, and I've never been disappointed. The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the trucks and vans are in top notch condition. I highly recommend them for any moving needs.
U-Haul needs to adjust to federal guidelines that if a person can prove they have a appointment with DMV,U-Haul needs to exempt the expired DL.State of NC has exempt this via federal government due to Covid 19.Please adjust to this new way of life until things get back to normal.This is a rental truck company not a place renting Mercedes.

While the staff was helpful at this location, and the equipment as advertised, overall this experience with U-haul was not smooth at all. The best part was the hired moving help which will probably be a separate review - they were on time, very professional, and made the actual move as smooth as possible. As for renting the truck, u-Haul was a mess. I show up on time to the 2312 E Club Blvd, Durham, NC 27704 location, only to have the guy tell me there were no trucks there, Amazon and some other companies rented all of the trucks in the area for Christmas. I said how is that possible, I have a reservation, I talked to you on the phone a couple weeks ago right before I clicked submit on it. He said he had no idea how the order even went through. To his credit, he apologized and helped call around to other locations and found me this 10 foot truck at the 2422 New Raleigh Hwy Durham, NC 27703 (I was supposed to have a 15 foot). So I rush over there and said I'll take it, I kind of had too. A discount for my trouble and poor experience would be nice, but actually they ended up accidentally charging me for 2 days instead of 1 (I had the truck about 20 hours and returned on time), which I had to straighten out. Again, the staff was helpful and apologetic, it was just a lot of mistakes and trouble for what should have been a simple move.

Duplicate what what I experienced.
I reserved initially online, and didn't realize that the space I got was so small, especially the door. The employee who helped me was able to switch my space to what I needed, and was extremely helpful. However, he did tell me that the first month was supposed to be free, and I got charged - is there a way to rectify this? Otherwise very helpful, good facility, and convenient for my needs.
In a nutshell: I had secured an apartment in Durham. But, I've been paying for a storage unit in GA for years. I got ahold of a pickup with a hitch. I rented a trailer from this location and reserved a storage unit. The rep said if I move out before 30 days, the unit would be free. On moving day, I rented a truck, paid for help, cleared out the storage and loaded my stuff form the current apt. Was moved in 90 minutes. Returned the truck, closed the storage and DONE. Unbelievable experience. Thanks U-Haul.

Overall a very poor experience. There is little justification to charge more for a local rental than a one-way cross country rental.
More staff. I waited 19 minutes to return truck because the one guy was off the property. More flexibility to make things right when something is wrong with the rental.
Manager Brandy Christie and her staff couldn't have been more helpful.
I have had good couple of rentals from this location in the past, but rental of van on 10/30/20 was disappointing for following reasons: 1) Van was wet in back storage area where we needed to load boxes and smelled terrible (like fish)! I luckily had blankets I could lay in the van so boxes wouldn't get wet. Bad smell I had to deal with for the entire rental. 2) Van windshield was so dirty that I had to stop at a gas station and clean it so I could see well enough to drive with sun coming in. 3) When I returned vehicle at 7:30 pm, they were backed up with returns and I could not discuss with manager the issues I had with the van to possibly adjust my rental amount due. 4) When I spoke with the manager when she was in on 11/2/20, she said she would look into it and offered no reduction in amount I was billed.

A couple things that could be improved was that when picking up a rental vehicle the gas tank is actually full. And that the employees be more helpful with issues with discrepancies of rental condition. No one was able to help me with reimbursement of the gas.
The agent who helped me, Russia, was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. You've got a good employee there!
Great employees at this location made the trailer rental process quick and painless. The only hitch (pun intended) was that they ran out of appliance dollies which I had reserved but didn't learn about until pick-up. Regardless, I'll be renting trailers from here again in the future.

I was not told that they would didn't have a utility dolly that I rented. I would have rented through another location had I known . She sent me to another location that was over 15 miles away to get one. At that location the gentlemen were extremely nice. By the time I got back I tried to complete the link with that I was sent about the condition of the rental. It had expired. I went back in to ask about it. She was extremely rude and told me just to go get my truck. The seat belt did not work properly. I called to talk to your customer service. The gentleman that I talked to told me that I had not rented an appliance dolly originally and that it was not on the ticket. I told him that had to remove it because they didn't have it. Every time that I have ever moved I have used UHaul. I have never received that kind of service and I was extremely disappointed.

Made a reservation only to find out I had to wait 30 minutes before my vehicle was ready. Still a very good experience overall.
Truck needed maintenance. Oil light and maintenance light stayed on. The truck front end and steering wheel shook really bad.
Operations are basically sound.

I couldn't check the equipment back in after hours on my phone, less than 2 1/2 hours later I returned the van after hours, a little after 7 pm, I was charged over $80 dollars, never again. It was a true ripoff.

It's getting old when U-Haul advertises 39.99$ and that turns into a 100$ for less than 15 miles of usages. It's getting real old.

the only problem we encountered was finding a place to park the truck for check in. The lot was extra full of other equipment. Must be a very busy pick up and drop off location.
Manager lady at the front desk was so helpful and easy to work with to help with my parking and getting the tool to unhitch my trailer.
There was only once associate doing everything the other worker you can tell had not been trained properly which made the wait super long
Rats feasting on my things in the unit is just not acceptable. Will have to toss alot of my things. This wasn’t the experience I wanted having been a 1st time storing my personal belongings. Disappointed, some of the things can’t be replaced but life does do that. Wondered if the insurance would’ve covered rats. Thanks for all the help it was appreciated.
We had a wonderful experience booking and checking into the facility. The only hang up was we selected a 20'x10' unit on the website, which this location did not have. In exchange, we now have two 10'x10' (I believe). We're making it work. The truck check in, however, is still an issue with charges. Hope to resolve that soon.

Convenience and facility were excellent. However, my experience with the staff during my the opt out date is the reason I will no longer use u-haul. I am a business owner and I lost my keys. I contacted the staff and inquired about getting the locked removed immediately and purchasing new lock. According to the staff member I was told that the manager said I had to wait 5 days before uhaul would remove the lock. After stating over and over my immediate need for the lock to be removed, the ultimatum was given to me to call a locksmith or wait 5 days for uhaul to remove the lock. Needing immediate access, I was forced to call a locksmith smith at the cost of 254 dollars, so I canceled my contract with you uhaul and will never deal with uhaul anymore or anywhere. I am a business owner and have a 24 hour need for access for my storage.

Friendly staff very kind ,they got me in and out very quickly. Even gave me a little help . Owner ver nice guy appreciate his kindness and professionalism as well as his staff. And after it all ithe price's worked out great I'm happy. And I felt safe and my things was secured and I had no worries at all. I will use them again,and again.
Frances is wonderful! Unfortunately, my check out was not smooth. They did not process the move out- even though I checked on this 2 separate times that day. Then I was billed for another month. This required 2 more phone calls and hopefully I will be refunded soon. The storage facility was clean and accessible.
The staff at this Facility was great I could not have had a better experience. Brandy and Joe was out standing they were so pleasant and helpful helping to make sure I had all the storage units and locks that I needed to checking the truck that I picked up in Charlotte back in. Their was a ton of rat poop all over my stuff when I moved out of the storage unit. As well the manager was supposed to prorate the month I moved my stuff out. Not only did she not prorate and refund me she never even stopped my contract when I moved out so I got charged again the fallowing month. I had to call my bank to dispute the charges. To top all of that I reserved moving blankets with my truck a few days before picking the truck up. It wasn't untill after I got the truck and walked to the truck to find they didn't put any in it. They told me they didn't have any which meant I had to scramble to find something to protect my stuff for the move. I would NEVER recommend this storage facility or even to pick up a truck from them.

Great facility with very nice workers. Admin is a problem. Computers/scanners always "down". Swipe cards or passcodes often fail. Alarm constantly goes off.

I was given a cheaper rate over the phone. Then I was showed a room that was over 8ft tall in store. Then when I get my room it’s so tiny. It’s barely 6ft tall. I was so disappointed with it.
Worst experience of my life i would like for someone to call me I had to sit outside all night not to mention the storage unit was 24 hours an I couldn't even get inside disappointed9195230196

The service and place were great until Christmas Eve. I went to get my daughter's Christmas presents from the storage facility after hours around 7pm. I entered my cose and was denied access.
Was impressed by the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility. The staff was excellent as well.
The storage facility itself and staff were fine. However, I was charged around 100 dollars for two days of storage. I did not want to store things, but was charged anyways for the U-boxes.
Every staff member I encountered was friendly kind and knowledgeable. My wait time was very minimal. I was very pleased, thank you guys for meeting my need.

There was an ant infestation in my storage unite 2021 and a claim was filed. I had to discard of several mattresses and a headboard and several boxes that were stored on the floor.
Roger was extremely helpful and the storage facility and unit we rented were clean and readily accessible.
I want to sat that Craig Russell and Angie did a great job. They used every good customer rules in the book. It says a lot from a person who teaches customer service at Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
The guy who checked me in initially spoke in a condescending light. It was almost as if he had a chip on huh is shoulder. Maybe that was just a personality difference. However, what saves the review!

The WORST service ever! Did not deliver as scheduled. Tried to get in touch with them 5 times and was on hold for 30-45 mins each time but still not info. Came 3 days late! Stayed in a hotel 3days!

Like most Uhaul facilities, this place is understaffed for the amount of business they do. Too much waiting.
I recently used this Storage Facility. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. I needed to upgrade to a larger unit after a month. The staff made the transition effortless.
Arrival problems as the storage unit door was not working and they had to give us 2 units from outside. However, on a last minute pick up the middle aged woman manager was great.
