Be more clear about policies and extra charges. I felt like explanations and expectations were vague and this led to some confusion when returning the vehicle. The guy who check out and in the vehicle was clear that he could care less about customer service and did the bare minimum to help facilitate the process.

Be sure to ask about the truck you are getting. Ours had 99 300 miles on it and didn't like to go above 60 on the highway without shaking. The steering wheel was out of alignment - you had to hold it at 10 o'clock in order to go straight. The customer service was good at this location, although they forgot to tell us that they wouldn't be open when we needed to drop the truck off. We thought you just drop the keys, but then found out you needed to go to a website to check the truck in, and that included taking a picture of the gas gage and odometer, which we couldn't do because we had already dropped the keys. We had to go back when they opened to ensure we weren't getting charged for an extra rental period due to not being able to take the needed picture. All was fine, but it was an extra step that could have been avoided.

Uhaul as a company needs to do better on knowledge and upkeep of their vehicles, not this location specifically, overall though. It's not this locations responsibility that the truck started with extra miles but uhaul should work unanimously so as any issue started somewhere can end wherever the complaint party is at. It shouldn't be "that locations issue" it should be a company wide issue. Because that is not fair to the customer to have to deal with issues left and right and then have to pay the original bill plus another 350$

They were under staffed

I was charged twice for a single rental. I checked in and paid online and should've been able to walk in and grab the key and leave. Instead, I was forced to fill out a second contract and pay a second time. I was given a vehicle that did not match the contract I finished online and tried to talk to the manager of the location about it. He was incredibly condescending and tried to tell me the second charge was just a hold even though I could see two separate contracts with two separate vehicles listed (one paper, one online). I asked him to put in writing that I would only be charged once for one contract, and he called that “a waste of time.” I told him it wasn't a waste of time for me since I had been charged twice at that point. It's THREE days later, and I still haven't been refunded the $58,59 that I should never have been charged. You all owe me $58.59. This was a horrible experience and I will never use this location again. And if uhaul doesn't refund the overcharged amount in the next couple of days, I'll never use uhaul again.

She said she was a computer person by trade and a graduate of emporia State University and was as nice as can be and helpful, too. An outstanding employee and a great experience for me. It was raining the night I used it. I went to use the windshield wipers, and they broke immediately. This made my ride dangerous. The vehicle felt like the transmission was slipping. This location needs to take better care of its trucks.

I originally moved in on 7/26/22. The entire process took an hour and a half, from the time I arrived with my truck to the point where we actually had the unit and could begin unloading. The staff were completely incompetent, I was passed around like a hot potato until I finally got to someone who seemed to know what they were doing. Once we -finally- got the unit and opened the garage door, we saw at least 15 roaches scatter into the walls. When I brought this up originally to the staff they told me that pest control would be out within the week. Fast forward to Thursday, August 18th - I arrive at the unit to pick up some of my things. There are roaches absolutely everywhere - on my things, on the floor. I'm not thrilled, but I take my things and go as I was in a rush. I called on Friday the 19th to report the roaches and to pay my bill for the unit and then discover that not only can they not find me in the system, but they've rented my unit out to someone else! Eventually, after two hour long phone calls on 8/19 and 8/22, they found "my" unit (wrong unit number, my stuff is not there), and it was listed as being rented by my Dad, who lives in Chicago, and had nothing to do with the rental whatsoever. I had to physically walk to the storage building, open my unit, and show them that I was in the unit that I said I was. I told them about the roaches again, and was told -again- that pest control would be out within the week, which I can only assume at this point is a bald-faced lie. I was given a month of "free rent," but I plan to leave a very public review unless the bug situation is resolved permanently. I have spent a total of 3 hours out of my life trying to deal with U-Haul's incompetence, and now will have to spend countless more cleaning and re-packing my things because they are probably infested with roaches. I am disappointed and upset, to say the least. I rented this unit in the first place because I'm disabled and needed a place to put my things after escaping an abusive ex. Moving and a legal separation are already difficult enough, this storage unit fiasco is absolutely the last thing that I need to deal with. Shame on you, U-Haul.

Hello everything was good except one thing. The old lady promised us a low level storage and that never happened. We had to end up going upstairs to a different storage unit. I dont understand why you would be promised a downstairs and then you end up upstairs.

I purchased the 24 HR access to my storage unit, yet on two separate occasions I was not able to gain access. Not only that. I chose this location due to the fact it had an additional security fence around the perimeter. For over a month the gate to this fence was left wide open due to construction. I was never notified of this or that we wouldn't have access due to construction/pouring concrete. I tried to reach the store by phone on multiple occasions, which is not possible due to the fact that I'm routed to a call center. After you wait on hold for 45 minutes the call center informs you that they know nothing about these units due to the fact that they are managed on the local level. Which it is impossible to reach them due to the fact all the calls are forwarded to a call center. In an effort to find answers I sent an email to the store with my questions about the security gate and not having access. My email was never responded to (over a 2 month period). I then receive an email and text notification from the store saying "there is an emergency with your storage unit, please contact us right away at 402-932-0440." The number was incorrect. It's is not the store number or any number for U-haul. Due to the message, I was concerned about the state of my items, especially since the number I called only ever ringed without answer. I took off work and drove to Omaha to find out what was wrong. Turns out nothing was wrong and my payment was just late. Upon arriving at the store and finding out that the store is apparently using emergency messages to trick people into coming into the store, I went over my issues. The response I received was that I must have not been doing it right because that was impossible for me to not have access. Even though the movers that I payed to move my items (for no reason since I couldn't access to my unit) also tried multiple times. I closed my account and moved my items to another location. It is a shame to see U-haul having such poor business practices, especially when they used to have such high standards.

I was amazed how clean my storage unit was when I moved out. I was an occupant much longer than I expected. Staff was always helpful and accessible. I would recommend this particular location to anyone. Only drawback was no elevator.

Some of the most helpful and caring people I've had the pleasure of dealing with. We had a serious accident and totaled our truck and travel trailer in June. We drove back out from Oregon and retrieved our belongings in August. These folks were so wonderful.

4003 was dirty outside and in, and the seal was ripping. It took a foot to the handle to help it slide to locked, yet we were very satisfied for the money, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful.

Almost every time I visited the storage unit I had problems getting the latch to slide into position so I could attach my padlock. Therefore I'm hesitant to use the facility in the future.

Zero stars seems more appropriate. I find it really bad business when a debit card that isnt on file gets ran without permission. Not only has this happened once it has happened twice now. I would never refer anyone after this. When I got the storage unit all the above questions applied.

I came into the facility 10 minutes before closing and was greeted and treated very well. I was able to book a truck and a storage unit within 6 minutes. The gentleman at the desk was friendly and very professional. He deserves a raise and a promotion! I love U-Haul - thank you for helping me.

My only complaint is that I showed up one day at about 6:45 p.m., and the access was already locked. It should've been open until 7. The staff let me in, but I did have to drive up to the store and then back down to the storage area before I could get into my unit. But otherwise, the process went smoothly and we got a unit with a really convenient location.

The unit I had was dirty. It was not swept out. My mattress protector is ruined. It felt like the climate control wasnt working. Something needs to be put over units so people cant climb over in case.
