I reserved a trk in advance but i still had to wait in line. There were 7 people in line of me that just walked in to rent a trk. Reservations should be waited on before walk ins. I almost didnt get a appl dolling and i served that too.

Credit card machine not functional. Not enough staff inside. Web site express check in a waste of time as almost everything had to be duplicated in store. Handicap access was nonexistent as a double line of trucks blocked the door and drive. They also blocked 4 of the 12 customer parking spaces.

There needs to be more counter help all the time! The location manager leaves much to be desired from customer service. Barely civil, rarely in front of facility, normally setting in the office, wait times in excess of 1hour every time.

Three packages of furniture pads were stuffed into the box to fill it to prevent the packed items from shifting. But none of the furniture was actually covered with any of the pads, causing scratches on the top of wood furniture and evidence of wood finish being rubbed up due to friction associated with uncovered wood rubbing against other items.

Robert and Kristine are great and helpful. However, I lost about $50 with gas overfill. Long time processing in. Lock mechanism on storage unit broken. No instructions on box to leave storage area.

I was overbilled as the employee charged my card for $59.16, forgetting to add refrigerator dolly. Billed my card again @ $10.83 for dolly. Then she decided to start all over again and billed my card for the 3rd time for $69.13. Then I received an invoice that had been amended to fit all three charges so she didn't have to have to do the credit refund of $59.13 and $10.83. We had the truck less than 12 hours on Memorial Day and returned same day, placing key in box as instructed. Tried calling, placed on hold for 15 min. so now must drive to facility to get my credit refunded on my card.

Not enough people at the front desk, I had a 10:30 pick up I showed up 10min after 10am, waited in line for 15min only 2 people ahead of me, after I was checked in I was told to go wait by the trailer I was renting and someone would be out to hook it up to my truck, 20min later nobody had come out to hook me up, I then walked back up to the office and told them I had been waiting for someone to hook me up, the gal at the front got ahold of someone to come hook me up, once the trailer was connected I then had to go back and get the paper work so I could leave, mind you by now it’s after 11am! This was just unacceptable I wonder if I had waited till 10:30 it would have been nearly 12noon before I got out of there, staffing seriously needs to be looked at, people were going on lunch and leaving one person at the desk with 6-7 customers in line

I am a repeat customer with no issues, yet I was still required to awkwardly call a friend up at the checkout desk and had to have them state over the speakerphone they would agree to be my "extra contact". Repeat customers of good standing should not be required to do this! Makes me question whether I want to rent here the next time just to avoid that experience.

I would like to mention a couple of things I found that concern me about your business. One, that second phone contact is a joke and it holds up the line waiting every time. Besides, my next door neighbor is not going to look for me for you. Second, the $19.99 local rental is a misleading and deceitful. $ 20 for the truck plus $ 37 for mileage really? How does that add up to $20? I won't rent a local from you again unless I have to. What is this phone check out all about. I personally believe that is a lack of service on your part. The general manager help me this morning and after placing the trailer to my vehicle I had to wait 15 minutes due to the fact that he stayed outside talking to someone who was not the customer very unprofessional did not greet me or apologize for having me wait and did not say hello I don’t know if it’s a racial thing the next person that came in that was his same race he was like hello, how may I help you, sorry for the wait. He never apologize for his rudeness for having me wait for him to return back to complete my contract I will not rent from them again and he is the general manager if he has a problem I could only imagine how the other staff are. Very poor customer services

The gasoline was one E when the truck was picked up. They offered a "fuel credit" of $33 if the truck was returned with 1/4 tank. It took over $40 to get to 1/4. The Passenger mirror would not adjust and part of the driver window crank was broken.

It took me more 30 minutes to pick up a trailer I had already reserved online just to asked the same question that a uhual employee had already submit for the reservation. I have been there multiple times and it almost feels like I going to DMV because of the long wait times.

I had rented a uhaul unit was not told that there is a penalty for not having exact gas tank. There was not much of a difference in gas, I have pictures, spoke to a associate through the phone,and was telling me that I was a liar because all uhaul representatives highlight on the contract the sentence where it talks about penalties and fees. This has been the worst experience at uhaul, will not recommend to anyone, very unsatisfied for being a loyal customer to uhaul. I also was told a manager would call me back, never received that call. I called back the next day, I was told no one was available again.

Charged me $75 deposit on my debit card. Corporate denies my deposit return because corporate says the deposit charge was a mistake. So I'm out $75. You violated terms on my contract. Equipment was returned per contract but you did not return my deposit. Then you say the deposit charge was your fault. How does this even make sense?

The man who took me to the truck was a deaf mute. He just walked away without indicating it was ready. USE OF THE RAMP WASNT DEMONSTRATED. The hazard lights were on without showing how to turn them off. The tags for road surfaces were confusing. YOU NEED A CHECK SHEET TO BE SURE ALL INFO IS DEMONSTRATED.

Blessings and good afternoon, The most recent U-Haul experience left much to be desired at every level of interaction from the customers standpoint. While that does mean there are many concepts to be developed and improved upon from your employees, it did not make me feel as though I wanted to bring my business back to U-Haul. The entire purpose of renting this truck was to tow a 24' trailer from Bakersfield to the Redlands area. I first spoke to a woman who assured me that their trucks would be capable of doing this. It took being on hold for a long period of time to first get this information and I was not recognized or thanked for waiting as long as I did. Then when I first attempted to make a reservation the woman I spoke to did not get any of my credit card information from me but told me the reservation had been made. The phone call dropped during this first talk and I was not called back. Thankfully I needed to make a change in the reservation so I called back and spoke to someone else who gave me different information on the capabilities of the trucks which I was attempting to rent. This person also informed me that because my credit card information was not taken the reservation I was told had happened was not in the system. I was finally able to get some clarity on the type of truck I was needing and made the reservation. When getting to the U-Haul location it turned out that the truck which I was assured met my needs did not have the correct ball hitch size for the trailer I needed to haul. If this piece of information was known and given to me during the initial reservation I would have approached the entire situation differently. I drove three hours from Redlands to come and get the U-Haul and trailer and because of this piece of incorrect information I was not able to get the U-Haul or trailer that day. It then took a day and a half of going to and calling every U-Haul in the Bakersfield area to attempt to find a truck with the correct ball hitch size or with a place we could put in our own hitch. Luis G. was very helpful at the White Lane location but it did turn out that there was a truck there that fit our requirements but because it was a 26' no one thought to give it to me as an option. I am not sure as to why it was not immediately given as an option but because of that shortsightedness I lost half a day to searching for the correct truck. It was also brought to my attention that there were 4x4 trucks that would have hauled the trailer but the company does not have enough of them to allow for one way travel. This concept of not having enough trucks to allow for one way transport when your customer needs that ability seems very shortsighted and caused a lot of turmoil. It was difficult to know that our needs could have easily been met but the truck we needed had certain protocol which did not allow me to use it in the way needed. The lack of training regarding the products and trucks available at the U-Haul company caused many

The gas gage on the pick up I rented was not reading properly. It did not immediately read the amount of gasoline I pumped into the truck. I over gases the vehicle because the gage did not immediately read the correct amount in the tank. Cost me money. You don’t reimburse if a client over fills your vehicles. Yet..your company over charges a renter on the gasoline you provide? Wonder how much your company has profited on overfills? You should to.

The employees seem not to care about the customers and do not know how to prioritize. They take way too long with each customer. The process to pick up a truck with a reservation was extremely poor. We waited an hour in line to get our reserved truck and only three customers ahead of us. We also had to wait another 15 minutes to get our truck pulled to the front.

The whole parking lot needs to be redesigned there is not enough room to maneuver the larger trucks. Also the checkout process takes far to long I had to wait 45 minutes before I got to my truck and it was still not ready for me. This meant I had to pay the loaders I hired an extra $50.00. Staff was friendly but it took an hour start to finish before I could drive off the lot because the rep could not upload my ID photo & then the person delivering the truck to the front of the store could not get it out of the parking space due to it being too crammed. Speed things up it took far to long to check-in and out. The air conditioning wasn't cold and the brakes squealed. You also charged me $ 277.50 for a repair that I could fix for $10.00. So I demand that you send me receipts for the cost of the repair and proof that the repair was done. I was ripped off and don't like it.

The computer was so slow. I had set up the online rental so I didn’t have to wait in line the line was faster then the online check in. Had to walk the entire parking lot to find the truck only to find out that it couldn’t be rented to me because it had problems. Then I had to go in the office again to wait for the next truck,no help to find that one. It was not a good experience to as the least.

I scheduled a 10' truck 1 day in advance for early pick up. I had three friends ready to help me move my 89 year old mother to another apartment at her retirement community. I was given a phone number to call when I arrived at 6:30 Saturday morning and would then receive instructions to get the reserved truck. When I called I was told my important call would be answered in the order it was received, after 15 minutes someone came on line to apologize that I wasn't given the proper instructions and was put on hold for another 5 minutes, when that person came back I was given a number, which i dialed, it was another 15 minutes for my "very important call", after my explanation of what happened she asked me to establish an account. I proceeded to complete three additional forms of required information, when I got to the last page of agreement forms the screen would not let me get one of the required agreement forms and I could go no further. I called again to get help and my "very important call" required another 15 minutes, when it was finally answered another lady put me on hold again for another 5 minutes to contact the manager; I was given a code to proceed and asked to log on again to start over with the process. After (2) two hours of frustration and trying to jump through all the hoops, it was nearly time to open - at 9;00 - a early arriving employee helped me get on the road. Needless to say two of my friends had to leave with other commitments and I did my best to help with a hand I had recently broken. I have always used uhaul but Penske has a new rental truck center a few blocks from where I live perhaps they will be able to communicate with their valued customers with more respect for their time.

The wait in line was 45 minutes before I got called up to be helped. Then when I got the truck and arrived to my location , the lock to open the back would not unlock so I had to drive back and have them unlock it for me. I used 9 miles to go back to get the door unlocked and they still used the 9 miles and I technically would have been under my mileage

All of the staff was super friendly even for a very busy weekend. I think they need to rethink the parking of all of the uhauls for drop off. It was v ery confusing on where I should park the uhaul. The parking lot was way too packed and you couldnt get in to turn around and move a car or uhaul.

To begin when trying to make an online reservation the time kept changing in my cart, so I had to call the 800 number just to make my reservation. When I arrived at the location for pick up we waited in line for a whole hour even with the online reservation. The whole process was frustrating and a little inconvenient.

From what I understand, the owner of this location shows to implement a policy where one has to have a second point of contact for renting any vehicle. Not only does the customer have to provide a second number, but they have to call and verify that person before they are allowed to give you your rental. The requirement of a second phone number, along with the requirement of talking to a person at the number to confirm it, is too much. This surprise requirement unnecessarily delayed my move, confused my relative, and came very close to losing my business. The associate who helped me however, was very kind and professional.

The truck that I picked up had profanity written in the back of the truck in sharpie. The back of the truck also had clothing and garbage in the back. The cab smelled of smoke and the ashtray had 20 cigarette butts in it. The spots behind both seats also had dirty paper towels, napkins, and food garbage. Truck hadn't been cleaned or checked. There was no walkthrough. They handed me keys and left.

Improve wait times - long waits while single desk person handled indecisive customers or took reservations over the phone. Computer issues with incorrect pricing and didn't like multiple photos of personal information (i.e. drivers license). Phone verification of second person is also invasive - why does uhaul need to not only have a third-party name and number on file, but need to call the number if they have my drivers license, credit card, etc.? I've never had a rental company require so much for a simple trailer. Some of the staff showed little thought about how to conduct themselves in front of customers or seemed ignorant or trivial about some of the questions I had on towing. However, none of the staff were rude, deliberately unhelpful, or had a bad attitude, it just seemed more of a gap in training/awareness and too casual/unprofessional. On the plus side, there were one or two minor issues that the staff did correct and were trying to do the best they could. Also, the location obviously has a large selection of equipment and supplies with generous hours. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell far short of my expectations for a typical business.

I was double billed for a truck and no one is able to help me figure it out. I have to wait until Monday to deal with it with a manager. The guy was able to see that I was billed under 2 invoices but kept questioning how long I had the truck and if I rented 2. Needless to say I’m not very happy with the billing but the girl in the office who rented to me was very nice. And if I for some reason cannot get the billing right I will be extremely unhappy with this being the first time I’ve ever used a U-Haul.

THE STORAGE MANAGER WAS VERY PLEASANT AND VERY KNOWLEDGABLE. SHE HAD ME SET UP WITH STORAGE WITHIN 15 MINUTES. THE STAFF CHECKED IN THE TRUCK WITH NO PROBLEMS OR SURPRISES, CONSIDERING ALL THE WORK BEING DONE IN THE PARKING AREA THEY DIDNT LET IT FAZE THEM, GREAT JOB!!!!!

I rented a truck from UHAUL at 6201 White Lane (Bakersfield). The truck I was given was old, and had damage throughout the truck, including numerous dents, a torn drivers seat, a damaged windsheild wiper (torn rubber scratching windshield). Even though I reserved the truck online days in advance, it took approximately 30 minutes to "process" me. It took 15 minutes just to log all of the damage during the walkaround. What is the point of going online, entering all the information, and making the reservation and then having to answer and provide all of the same information again during the pick up process? What a waste of customer's time. Very inefficient process. In addition, I was charged for the dolly and blankets when in fact I did not even use either of those items. I called the location from where I rented and returned the truck serverall times to resolve this, butI was placed on hold and hung up on twice. And the 3rd time I was told she was not able to help me, that the manager Christina would call me back. The manager Christina never called me back. Please credit my card with the correct amount. And please streamline the process. You don't need an online and in-person process that are duplicate processes.
