Every time I rented a U-Haul employees were always nice and Helpful and every time I returned it they were very helpful as well
Noting all is good
The return agent told me I had used the pads which I had not. I used Meathead movers to Lisa's and unload the truck and the used thei own pads. The return agent went so far as to break the green seal, which was still intact, to prove how easy it broke. It took him considerable effort to do so indicating it had not been tampered with however he still charged me. I don't care so much about $5 as being called a liar. I will not be back. The pick up agent that helped me in the morning was courteous and very efficient.
Large clean location with every rental type in stock both trailers and trucks, unlike some other smaller locations. The multiple check in counters made it fast and the lady running the place there was super organized, professional and helpful. This place is the best location in Bakersfield, period. Thankyou guys I will rent with the white lane location everytime in the future.
The check in process is odd. Go inside, check in, go outside get trailer, go back in, sign contract, go back out, note issues with trailer, photograph and text. It needs to be streamlined in my opinion
Dashboard was dirty and not sanitized with COVID precautions. U-Haul should sanitize their vehicles before passing them on to the next renter.
The cashier was very rude. I rented a trailer and it was already hooked up to my truck. I was told to simply go through the side door. I approached the cashier and she was very rude. She made me wait in line for almost an hour even though I explained the situation to her. She was telling other customers to simply come back once their trailer was hocked up and that they didn't have to wait in line yet she made me wait. Never going to that location and not recommending it to any friends or family.

More organization with the automated check in/out. Understandable though, that this is a new system

We checked out a uhaul on the website and checked in early, only to come in to the store to a huge line and had to wait close to an hour. Several people in line were frustrated & complaining loudly. The assistant manager Donna then said they were short staffed because another worker didn't want to come to work, she said this in front of multiple people with no apology. The service inside was very slow & very frustrating. I looked forward to an easy experience, especially in such a stressful time as moving. All in all renting a uhaul was the most stressful part of our moving day. The young gentleman we returned our truck to was super helpful & nice, Donna was working inside & again was not helpful & slow yet again. I won't be returning or ever recommending this place to anyone.

Originally reserved 6x12 trailer for another location closer to need. Call from Uhalu that there were no trailers unless i drove 30 miles out of town to pick up. Agreed to change to 10ft truck. received email conformation of reservation. Arrived 15 minutes early after driving 140 miles and was told no equipment available for me. that requesting on line is not a reservation. even having the confirmation did not seem to make a difference. they finally took one of four sets of keys for a 10 ft truck off the wall and finished the rental. NOT a pleasant experience.
I made a reservation a week in advance and when I arrived they did not have a truck for me. I had to wait 5 hours until they had a vehicle. I understand things happen, but I had made reservations that couldn't be changed. It was an inconvenience. This is the only time this has happened.
The process was difficult. When your card system malfunctioned and your clerk told me the process was canceled I dropped my arm/hand in frustration. The area was boxes made a lot of noise. Your clerk, who mumbled for everything else challenged me and reminded me I didn't need to take it out on her and I need to stop if I wanted to rent the trailer. I reminded her I was not taking anything out on her was frustrated. She was rude the rest of the transaction. Not interested in going back to that location
Everything was fine. But the truck was really dirty on the outside. Inside was clean.
I went to the White alone location THREE TIMES to pick up a 26 foot Uhaul that had been reserved in plenty of advance notice. I had a team of 10 people ready to start loading at 815am. I paid them for 3.5 hours for doing NOTHING while I waited on a Uhaul since the one I reserved wasn't available. I ended up with a 15 foot Uhaul, and 5 trips later I ended up paying an astronomical amount to my moving crew, and still having things left in the old residence. At this point, it would have been a better decision to go with a moving company because Uhaul's incompetence caused me to pay out a fortune. As if that weren't enough, most of the employees are incredibly rude. I doubt my comments will be made public, but I sure hope so.
The young lady Named Donna loud talked me, stating that I needed a major credit card to rent a van, and said that their policy was different, I told her that it was not true, and I did not appriciate her trying to embarrass me in front of other people, this was 10/03/2020

Answering the phone is OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM, I called from 4:00am until 11:00am befor I got a person to talk to this is INEXCUSABLE PERIOD ESPECIALLY SINCE I DID SIT ON HOLD 20-30 at a time. Also at the actual location. WHY IS ONLY ONE PERSON SCHEDULED AT OPENING? That is stupid people do come in first thing in the morning and you do NOT HAVE ADEQUATE COVERAGE, I guess when you a big company customer service IS NO LONGER SOMETHING YOU CARE ABOUT.
I reserved a cargo closed trailer but received a open one. The trail I reserved had a flat. I think it would had been nice if they could had done something little like paid for my $8 insurance or something
