It was very easy booking a reservation for a Uhaul vehicle and easy picking it up. However the young lady that works the desk needs a little bit of training on customer service. She was bossy and sounded very condescending when I asked questions. The guys that pick up the truck after you drop it off were extremely helpful and nice! Your app doesn't work nearly as well as it did when I last used it two years ago. At this particular location, wireless coverage is not great and the app just crawled along and would not advance to the next page. It seems that a high amount of complexity has been built in (my app developer calls this a 'heavy footprint') to enhance security. But this comes at the expense of ease of use. The check-in process had to be completed manually since the app completely froze.Katherine M.

There was only one of the 15 foot uhauls and were already up sizing due to no 10 foot box trucks after going on line . There was a lot of damage to the uhaul prior to our renting it and the truck had low miles but it did not run very well .It was missing a little bit engine wise and the door would not close well on the driver side due to the vehicle damage it had before I rented the unitmkevin M.

I was told ot was going to be 58 dollars and they charged my credit card 100.29. And over drew my bank account i am one unhappy customer. This is not how you do business. I will be filing a complaint as soon as the store opens. I will not ever use uhaul again !!!!latosha T.

the employee that was helping me at the desk spent more time arguing with 2 other employees than helping me get on the road - when he asked one other employee to get a trailer ready for me he told him no because he clocks out in 3 minutes and he was not going to do it then he spent time arguing with another employee about how she left keys on the counter and even if there was not space on the wall they should not go on the counter if no one was there - i made a reservation online but honestly that was a useless waste of time for me and the other customer in line because we just had to go ahead and redo everything for some reason and according to the computer they didn't have any trailers but they had a full lot of them so they had to run out to go look up trailer numbers 3 different times because he kept forgetting the number - overall this visit was my worse one yet and i spent way more time there than i needed to - yes in the end i did et the trailer i needed but it was just not a great experience this time renting thereSamuel A.

I was originally scheduled to return my equipment at another location that was closer. But since I wanted to resolve in person a problem that happened when I picked up the equipment, I rescheduled the return for this, the main office in town. With only one person behind the counter at a large, central store, I waited for a long time just to get to talk to someone. By the time I did, the manager was gone for the day, and the assistant manager in charge couldn't resolve the matter. But he did take the printouts of the original and the new contracts, along with printouts of the automated emails I had received from U-Haul, with the promise that he would give them to his manager for his review. Two months later, I have yet to hear back from anyone at U-Haul. I plan on taking my story and printouts to Abilene BBB in the next week if I don't hear back from U-Haul about this matter.PAUL R.

Walked in to the store and stood around for about 20 min until somebody came in to assist me. There was a line of about 3 to 4 people and one of the employees walked in from the outside lot and didn't say two words to any of the customers waiting in line and walked to the back room. Customer service goes a long way. I understand a lot of business are lacking employees right now, but for your employee to see us waiting in line with zero help and to walk by and ignore everyone standing in line waiting with no one else in sight really shows the lack of customer service your business has. I'm sure I will have to do business again with you in the future, next time I hope it is a much more pleasant experience.Eric C.

The whole experience was horrible. I made an online reservation and completed the online check-in with a total price of $37. When I got to this location I had to do everything over with a final price of $48. It took forever and was every frustrating. The lady who was at the counter is an idiot and was very rude. Right off the bat at pickup there was a problem. We had a reservation 2 weeks in advance. I even called the day before to make sure pick up would go smoothly. At pickup their credit card machine wouldn't work and our reserved truck was buried behind 2 other trucks. This delayed us an hour. When we went to return the truck we couldn't find our reservation online and had to call U-Haul. We were told the $20 after hours return fee would be waived for our trouble. I called this morning to make sure we weren't charged, and I was disconnected. So next move we will not be going with U-Haul. Overall a really bad experience.Dale W.

I made an online reservation for a 5' x 5' x 4' Locker for $44,95 on April 5, 2021 with a move in date of May 8, 2021 for my daughter to store her personal items from her college dorm during the summer. When my daughter went to take her things to the UHaul on the afternoon of May 8, 2021, she was told that all of these units were already taken and that aa reservation doesn't "reserve" a storage locker but that it was first come first serve. The only storage locker available was a 5' x 10' x 8', which was $79,99 a month. When we asked about changing the price due to the reservation, we were told to speak to a manager. After over 20 attempts to call the manager and leaving voice messages on both his cell phone and at the store, we had to drive 4 hours to the location in order to speak to anyone about this situation and we still have not spoken to the manager of the store. I reserved a 5' x 5' x 4' Locker on April 5, 2021 with a May 8, 2021 move in date and Monthly Rate of $44.95, to store my personal items from my college dorm for the summer. When I showed up to this location on May 8, 2021 at 4pm, I was told that all of the lockers of this size were already sold and was given the option of 5' x 10' Storage Room at a monthly rate $79 or nothing. When I asked about my reservation, I was told that regardless of the reservation it was first come first serve. I have never heard that this policy was used by U-Haul and it would negate the policy of using reservations to "hold" a storage room. After waiting 2 hours, there was only 1 representative working at this time when this location was extremely busy and the representative stopped helping me and made me wait until she had helped the other 7 customers in the store before handling my situation. I was over charged on the month of Nov, when i try to pay for late fee but instead they charged me for another month of rental. The staff at Abilene location was not really want to discuss about what I had paid double of the rental on Nov, instead they were so rude to me. His last name was "Stone". When I went to the storage building it was full of a previous person trash left behind. They then had to clean it out so I could unload the truck I had rented from y'all. Next there is a giant mud hole the size of 5 parking spots right in front of my storage building. I left word that you can't get into my unit with out walking in 4" deep water. * No clear instruction on how to gain access to unit before arriving at facility. Had to stand in line for literally an hour (only two other customers ahead of me) to speak to an employee while my moving labor waited outside on the clock. * Employee claimed the online reservation process was pointless, as they only operated under first-come-first-serve. What is the point of reserving a unit through U-Haul if you aren't guaranteed to get it??!! Thankfully a unit was available, but was on the second floor and had no elevator. * After getting my lock and unit number, I had to find an employee to unlock the unit as it still had a "customer-ready" lock on it. * The automatic sliding door by the unloading area was broken. Could only open it by literally pulling the doors apart. I get that I could've arrived on a particularly busy day, and the facility seemed to be very under-staffed. Even so, there needs to be a better process for handling simple equipment returns and storage unit reservation retrievals that doesn't involve waiting in line for an hour as one customer plans their entire move with the only available staff.
