There were NO furniture pads. The box was dropped off on time, but wasn't received until a month later, was guaranteed to arrive June 16. It cost a lot of money for the horrible service, people tried to help but nobody could tell me where the box was. Then they are yelling at you and you keep trying to ask a question but they won't shut up for 2 seconds so you yell back then they get all mad and walk off. I returned my uhaul and dolly a day early, and was charged for 7 more miles used. Didnt realize I was given a milage limit. Do they not give us extra milage from the place we have to get our haul? I figured if I bring equipment back early, they can rent it out again sooner. We get charged $14 for an extended day, but dont get credited that when brought back early and then charged for 7 extra miles. Wish I could understand this reasoning.Norman G.

We made our reservation on line and checked it out on my phone and all went well except they had the wrong dolly so we had to go find ours. Then when we brought it back we checked it in on the phone and folllowed the directions. Then some rude little lady came out and told us we did it wrong and had to move the truck. That's not what your online directions told us to do. You should fix thatBelinda F.
Uhaul representative that went outside to help hookup was not very helpful. Equipment was not totally ready. He did not checkout everything. He did not explain new hitch pin. There were not enough staff on hand to take care of the activities inside and outside of the building, Several customers, including me, waited in line for over 25 minutes that could have been answered in < 1 minute each if another person was outside at the equipment drop area, freeing up the indoor staff from running in and out of the building.Randal A.

One-way rentals should always have Cruise control. The truck would be fine for in town. I started cramping up 2 hours into my trip. After a hard day of loading a Uhual my legs were tired. I did not realize it did not have cruise control until I started on my trip. I had to take frequent breaks to rest my leg. My 6 hour drive turned into a 8 hour drive. This truck made for a very bad experience. I told a friend and he shocked that Uhual had trucks without cruise control. I wish someone had asked if I wanted a bigger truck that had cruise control. I would have paid more for cruise control.WILLIE H.

Don't be so frugal with equipment. Power locks, power windows and cruise control are staple equipment these days. My rented truck wasn't equipped with any of those. Last Penske I rented was. Goes a lot towards customers safety and convenience I spent $2000 for a my one way rental not including fuel. Not satisfied with value received.Randall S.

Hidden fees, unclear terms and agreements. We rented with a quote of $50 not including fuel, there was a $30+ hold that wasn't mentioned online at reservation nor was it mentioned over the phone when we asked if we could pay cash.. we were informed of the $100 fee but not the hold on the card. we slid our card for the $30 hold and was told if we didn't go over our miles it'll be refunded, that wasn't the case. I went back owing money for the miles I used which was was under the estimated milage which I previously mentioned. That was the fee for the estimated 50 miles, $30. What is the point of making a reservation for one if the day before im spose to pick up the truck my order was cancled. 2. Corporate changes my order. 3. I get there to pick it up and have to fill out everything i did on the computer all over again to sit and wait for them to tell me i have reorder a different truck and then a differnt trailer because the ones i had were no longer available.Rebecca N.

I don't know why I was asked if I wanted the insurance on the trailer (Safe Tow). I had already done early check-in, chose Safe Tow, and paid for my trailer reservation in full prior to arrival. I am then asked the ridiculous question â€œdo you want the insuranceâ€. I thought the purpose of early check-in was to save timeâ€¦? Frustrating!Chris J.

Rented from a location other than where I got my 10' van from, originally reserved a 15' vanâ€¦ I got to location and I wasn't able to pick up the vanâ€¦app and website would just reload!! I had an order for 7am and the. I stuck around trying to figure it out and i was on hold for 35mins, and when the help got on the line he told me I wasn't at the location lol I was RIGHT THERE next to the truckâ€¦..I ended up cancelling and going to the next U-Haul location where I could talk to a person, they found me a Van that was the same size but available 8hrs later so I opted to a smaller van(10'). And that was okayâ€¦..I got the van, contract papers said the van was on FULL and when I pulled the vehicle up it was on Eâ€¦ very empty, passed the red line on Eâ€¦I was told I would get credit to fill the van up and I did, but I will say that leaving my 3hrs in the dry, trying to get a van when I had it reserved and GUARANTEED at $50 I want my money because it didn't happen how U-Haul guaranteed. Is this reasonable? I'm speaking on the GUARANTEE OF RESERVATION . Can we fix this? Hopefully mitigate it knowing I will use U-Haul again .MAX B.

Service was great, however our experience was terrible. Trailer was improperly hooked to our vehicle, made it about 2 miles before the trailer CAME OFF the truck. Had to get a new trailer. It was very easy booking a reservation for a Uhaul vehicle and easy picking it up. However the young lady that works the desk needs a little bit of training on customer service. She was bossy and sounded very condescending when I asked questions. The guys that pick up the truck after you drop it off were extremely helpful and nice! Your app doesn't work nearly as well as it did when I last used it two years ago. At this particular location, wireless coverage is not great and the app just crawled along and would not advance to the next page. It seems that a high amount of complexity has been built in (my app developer calls this a 'heavy footprint') to enhance security. But this comes at the expense of ease of use. I made an online reservation for a 5' x 5' x 4' Locker for $44,95 on April 5, 2021 with a move in date of May 8, 2021 for my daughter to store her personal items from her college dorm during the summer. When my daughter went to take her things to the UHaul on the afternoon of May 8, 2021, she was told that all of these units were already taken and that aa reservation doesn't "reserve" a storage locker but that it was first come first serve. The only storage locker available was a 5' x 10' x 8', which was $79,99 a month. When we asked about changing the price due to the reservation, we were told to speak to a manager. After over 20 attempts to call the manager and leaving voice messages on both his cell phone and at the store, we had to drive 4 hours to the location in order to speak to anyone about this situation and we still have not spoken to the manager of the store. I reserved a 5' x 5' x 4' Locker on April 5, 2021 with a May 8, 2021 move in date and Monthly Rate of $44.95, to store my personal items from my college dorm for the summer. When I showed up to this location on May 8, 2021 at 4pm, I was told that all of the lockers of this size were already sold and was given the option of 5' x 10' Storage Room at a monthly rate $79 or nothing. When I asked about my reservation, I was told that regardless of the reservation it was first come first serve. I have never heard that this policy was used by U-Haul and it would negate the policy of using reservations to "hold" a storage room. After waiting 2 hours, there was only 1 representative working at this time when this location was extremely busy and the representative stopped helping me and made me wait until she had helped the other 7 customers in the store before handling my situation. I was over charged on the month of Nov, when i try to pay for late fee but instead they charged me for another month of rental. The staff at Abilene location was not really want to discuss about what I had paid double of the rental on Nov, instead they were so rude to me. His last name was "Stone". When I went to the storage building it was full of a previous person trash left behind. They then had to clean it out so I could unload the truck I had rented from y'all. Next there is a giant mud hole the size of 5 parking spots right in front of my storage building. I left word that you can't get into my unit with out walking in 4" deep water. * No clear instruction on how to gain access to unit before arriving at facility. Had to stand in line for literally an hour (only two other customers ahead of me) to speak to an employee while my moving labor waited outside on the clock. * Employee claimed the online reservation process was pointless, as they only operated under first-come-first-serve. What is the point of reserving a unit through U-Haul if you aren't guaranteed to get it??!! Thankfully a unit was available, but was on the second floor and had no elevator. * After getting my lock and unit number, I had to find an employee to unlock the unit as it still had a "customer-ready" lock on it. * The automatic sliding door by the unloading area was broken. Could only open it by literally pulling the doors apart. I get that I could've arrived on a particularly busy day, and the facility seemed to be very under-staffed. Even so, there needs to be a better process for handling simple equipment returns and storage unit reservation retrievals that doesn't involve waiting in line for an hour as one customer plans their entire move with the only available staff. Overall my experience with every aspect of U-Haul aside from the actual truck rental has been very confusing, and made our move extremely stressful.TERRY T. | Online Move In

It took the staff 4 hours to issue me a storage room! I pre registered the previous day and the staff still had issues finding my reservation. The storage room I reserved was given to someone else before I arrived at the facility. I was then forced to accept a larger size at a higher rate.
