You need to have a person do a walk around at time of pick up and time of drop off. Then finalize the chargers in the paperwork and both parties sign it. Not just drop a key off and walk away and hope for the best. When I picked it up there was a problem with the tire pressure. When I dropped it off I told him I had a photo of the mileage but they still charged me 10 miles more than what was on the odometer. Now I have to take time to call them to get a small refund back. At time of pick up they also said there was more gas in the tank than actually was in there. I have a photo of that also. I don't like not a lot of attention to detail.

First, I opted out of having to go inside to get my key but still had to go inside. Second, they gave my truck to someone else. Third, when I finally got a new truck I couldn't find it because they weren't specific about where it was. Fifth, when I found my truck someone else was inside it touching it because they thought it was theirs. Overall it took over an hour to get my truck. Horrible experience.

Make sure vehicles in the return queue are checked back in before being put back on the lot. Returned the van. Guy was on the phone and said to park it in the return queue and leave the keys in it and it would be checked in. Ended up having to go back to clear up bill because it was apparently parked and the key put back on the board, but never checked back in. Fortunately, person on desk at the second time looked at my receipt, looked on the key board, gave an exasperated sigh, and said they would be right back, they had to go get the mileage.

We rented a 10' uhaul for a one way move from Upstate NY to Denver, Co. The uhaul had bald tires (could not drive in the snow), one headlight was installed upside down (made night driving impossible) windshield wiper fluid didn't work (we made sure it was full). Not a safe vehicle for cross country driving.

The staff at 1:39 Broadway were excellent. However the website gave us the option to drop the truck off at 8 Erie Blvd., and the web service that was supposed to be used did not work. I follow the instructions repeatedly and exactly and the service would not work. The web service you have created is terrible, It does not work properly. I would tell everyone to never use your web service and only use your service if you could have employees available for help because your web service is the worst web service I've ever use.

Have the truck ready with a full tank of gas... I received the truck on E and had to fill it myself. Dropped the truck off with 5/8 of a tank and never received a reimbursement. Pick-up location was severely understaffed, wait time was approx. 30 minutes just to get the keys and sign the paperwork.

My truck was scheduled to be picked up before the office opened. I was told there would be keys in a box waiting for me before the store opened, but that was not the case. I had to wait an hour for the location to open and then my reservation wouldn't be found in the system. I will not be using this service again.

My issued truck was second in line. So I had to back up a 20 ft truck with no assistance a distance. There was a truck in front of mine exactly the same… just saying.

The rep. I reserved with over the phone was helpful, pleasant and customer oriented. The employee I dealt with in the am. indoors when picking up the truck was less so. The woman I dropped the keys off to indoors upon return was pleasant and helpful. The truck itself was ok overall however, the sun visor on the driver's side had no anchor clasp to attach it to the ceiling(it had been torn off) and therefore the visor hung down in front of the windshield. The driver's door window crank had a knob at the end that kept coming off in my hand when I tried to roll the window up/down. I reported both when returning the vehicle and was told, "Yeah, they're old. Thank you."

The van, while empty of trash, wasn't really clean. It had 112k miles on it. Windscreen wipers worked poorly and should have been replaced. Although to be fair, we were able to complete our moving job with the van, and put over 400 miles on the van, all trouble-free.

I had a wonderful experience. The woman who helped me check out was AMAZING. she deserves a raise! The only thing I didn't love was some of the employees weren't wearing masks. Which was concerning. other than that 5 star service.

I reserved a 26 ft truck on Saturday 12/11/21 when I returned it that night ,I reserved it again for 12/18-19 At that time it was confirmed that a 26ft truck was reserved for me,on Thursday 12/16/2021 I received a call stating they had none available for me at their location and if I wanted a 26ft I would have to go to the 1854 central Avenue in Albany,The only thing they could give me was a 10ft truck,Yes I was very livid as they wanted a day before I was to pick the truck up to tell me this.. I called back to speak with the manager and I was placed in hold for 20-30 minutes no manager got on the phone,I called back and kept getting sent to voicemail recording,I then proceeded to call from my personal phone,The lady at the desk answered and when I told her I wanted to speak with manager ,she said he was with a customer and was about to give me his number and then asked me for my number so he could call me back””Which he/she never did”” So on the day I went to get this truck that I never really wanted “ I was talking to the receptionist and I said that they should compensate the people that they misled so she went to get the manager to see if he could do some compensation and guess what”” manger could not be found”that surely that didn't surprise me at all..Managers/supervisor she always be available to speak with customers “”their is poor leadership in this facility that's located at 139 Broadway Albany ny”and compensating customer in one way or another would goes a long way for the inconvenience that was caused by your overbooking,but mostly having a manager in site to speak with customer's would be most helpful

I was given a truck that was not roadworthy. It was really old and lasted only long enough to get the items from our storage unit loaded in and then drive the 3 miles to our apartment where we were supposed to finish moving our stuff to our new house. It actually broke down coming down the hill into downtown Troy with a top speed of ten mph and two check engine lights on. I lost three hours of moving time and had to pay three movers overtime for those hours. I was told at the Albany site when I picked up the replacement truck (it couldn't be delivered?) that I should not have to pay any rental fees, but I was charged the next day by UHaul anyway.

Albany was the only Uhaul location that was terrific. It showed equipment that was actually available at their location. The woman I spoke with on 12/16 was fabulous. After making reservations with two locations online (Hyannis and Ithaca) they both fell through. I was told both had the trailer, neither did. Albany was great from the phone call to the pick up. Friendly, helpful people.

I was screwed by having 2 miles added to my bill as well as 2 gallons of gas even though I brought it back with more gas than when I rented it. Not sure if this was accidental or intentional, but I'm annoyed....

Vehicle was fine. After on the road, noted gas level was ¾, rather than "⅞" indicated on the contract. On returning the vehicle, sat in the truck, as instructed by signage. Waited 5 min. Finally went in. There were 4 employees inside. No customers. I was told that the person who needed to come out just got to work, and went on a break. The others could not come out to help. 6 pads were provided, but charged for 12. The errors were corrected, but overall a frustrating process.

One negative note:. The dash lights were dim for the first 2 hours of my drive. they came on and I could see the radio numbers and better see the other dash indicators. When I returned the vehicle I pointed this out and was told it would be checked.

This Chevy pick up was only one available, seat belt was broken which is unbelievable, center console was sticky and nasty as was the whole dash board and steering wheel. I was in a rush so I didn't care at the time but honestly just ridiculous that no one maintains the vehicles.

Maybe sending out another confirmation text 2hours prior in regards to virtually picking up a reserved U-Haul as I mistakenly booked a U-Haul for 1:30AM instead of PM. Luckily staff was able to assist and still had the same vehicle available which truly saved the day!!

I rented this vehicle for a 850 mile trip and was fully loaded. The shocks were shot and truck handled like crap because of it. Also the breaks were shot. When applied at highway speed the truck shook so bad it was hard to steer and felt like the front axle was going to fall off. Windshield wipers needed to be replaced, all they did was streak. At highway speed the front end shook because the breaks were so bad. When coming to a stop they pulsated and wasn't sure if you would stop. The windows were filthy when I picked it up. Looked like someone had spit there coffee all over the Windshield. Luckily I had a short distance to home when I picked it up as I had to clean all the windows inside and out because it was hard to see even in the daylight. Don't think I will ever rent from u haul again. Next time I'll look into renting from somewhere else. Very unhappy with my experience.

I returned the trailer on Monday, Nov 22, within my three day contracted period.. but then you did not process it until Friday, Nov 26, AND CHARGED ME FOR 4 EXTRA DAYS!!!!! I will never use U-Haul again unless you fix this mistake and refund the $118 that you charged me for the extra days THAT I DID NOT USE.

This is my go to location and the service there has always been accommodating. The van I rented was clean inside but the outside of the van was filthy. Because we were transporting food to feed seniors on Thanksgiving, I had to personally wash the exterior myself and at my expense. Delivering food in a filthy vehicle would have been unacceptable.

Overall, the convenience was ok. Not enough flat carts for storage items. Elevator entry takes a while, when someone else gets to on, I had to swipe my card again.

I asked for an 8 by 16 and completed the paperwork, purchased the required lock, which no other storage facilities require, and attempted to access the Unit. When I got to the 5th floor, there was a lock on it. I had to go all the way back downstairs, then outside back to the counter. There were at least 4 staff available who could have told me the unit was locked, or better yet, actually unlocked for me once it was reserved. When I came back to put my items in storage, I accessed the facility but then was denied elevator access. I had rented storage at this facility in the past and had elevator access problems EVERY time I was in the building. It's aggravating, and unnecessary. Nobody offers to fix it, they just have a staff person get on and use their card to get you to your floor. The office was not busy when I was there. My unit could have been unlocked for me once I completed my reservation. I had back surgery a few weeks ago and it is difficult to walk long distances. I don't know why I had to go back and forth up and down 5 floors so I could tell the front desk there was a lock on the unit. They already knew. Waste of time and unnecessarily difficult.

I was not able to move my stuff into the storage unit due to the fact that there was a lock that wasn’t removed on the unit previously nor was it mentioned how to gain access to my unit.

We signed up online and paid for a unit in your Erie St facility. We received an email with the access codes (but no instructions on how to use them) and were told that our unit was unlocked and ready for us. When we arrived, we had trouble figuring out how to get in due to poor instructions and were only successful after another customer helped us. When we got to the unit, it was locked,. Repeated calls to customer service wen unanswered. The cell of the GM went to a voice mail and was never answered. The intercom was never answered and there was no one on site to help. We drove to the Broadway Office where Megan was very helpful, switched our rental to that building, and then showed us how to work the security system. A process that should have been easy took two hours in total.

I had some issues on my move in day. I was assured on Saturday 5/22 that the customer elevators would be in order by Sunday 5/23 which was the day I was moving into my unit with a full apartment of items. On Sunday when I arrived with my full UHaul I also rented there was no working elevator. I asked an employee inside who said "someone was working on it right now." I went back and waited for awhile by the elevators but no one was currently working on it. I finally went back inside and asked that someone operate a freight elevator because I needed to load my things into the unit that day. Finally someone came but it was a pretty big issue and many other customers were trying to move in and out of units so it was difficult to use the elevator and the employee had a hard time keeping up with the various floors people had to go to.

We just moved our girls belongings into one of the storage units and also rented a van to transport everything. The staff was so helpful and courteous it was just a smooth experience overall. Thank you guys for allowing us to make this move for our girls so easy!

I am very displeased with uhaul as I got the storage unit and a truck. I was told that the lock would be removed off the unit so I could load my things and much to my suprise when I got to the storage unit after uhaul closed but storage was still open my unit still had a store lock on it which caused me to have to drive back to we're I picked up my stuff which added more miles and took more gas. I really hope this is not how uhaul does business

l am a very busy man, l get 1 day off a month!!! The elevator was down. There wasn't a sign & the front desk didn't seem to care? Very unprofessional, l will not recommend your facility & our relationship will be short. The gentleman who signed me up was extremely helpful & courteous. Saturday staff however, didn't seem to care that the elevator was down & didn't or couldn't tell me when it would be operational?
