Uhaul continuously over charged my credit card after return of equipment on two occasions two weeks in a row. Placed a call to complain waiting on call back for refund of funds over charged for miles and gas. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will no longer be using them or referring them if this is not corrected.

My intial storage locker was given out to another without my permission. I only found out when I tried to get in. I had to re-apply for another again That was terrible !

Caring about the customer and trying to find a solution to the problem. Avoiding confrontation in your store. Seems like employees want to make it hard on the paying customer. Like when the mirror broke. Your employees couldn't find a solution to the problem. It took us the customer to find a solution. We had to call another U-Haul to get the mirror replaced. Your employees didn't mention that or call around to help. Paying over $500 for a rental is stressful for some people who are on a budget. If I was an employee at your store I would do my best to find a solution to make the customer happy and to get them out of my store happy. Not stressed and angry. I am happy that this move is over and that I will never have to deal with the employees at this location again. I am willing to negotiate a solution to fix this in the next 48hrs if not, I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

We had issues getting a van to take it out of location. We planned to rent at one location and drop it off at another. We were ensured that we could do that and were charged a rate to do so. We come to find out we couldn't return to the location we had requested and got charged much more to bring it back to the original location. I'll be contacting customer service.

The weight at both pick up and return were outrageously long. This was not because there were long lines of customers, it was because staff members were busy talking to each other rather than helping. Additionally, I had to wait for 20 minutes for someone to figure out how to process my reservation that I had already made online. Further after returning the trailer, I did not receive a receipt for a day and then when I did I was charged for an extra day. Subsequently I had to spend another half of an hour on the telephone to get my money back. All told, I wasted 2 1/2 hours renting a trailer. That's over $1000 worth of my time wasted by the systemic incompetence that I was met with from start to finish. I will think long and hard before I rent from UHaul again.

1) i was charged $400 more than the price I was quoted in the reservation. 2) The attendant would not inspect the vehicle with me to document damage to the vehicle upon pickup. He indicated I could take picture. 3) I had to ask for the addition items I had ordered. I was handed the blanket. I did not count them and it turned out I was only given 11. 4) I have no intention to use U-Haul ever. The reservation price was a low ball number. The reservation was ultimately scrambled to the wrong pick up point just prior to the move date. In the process of getting it fixed the price became the current price. 5) Finally, the individual working the counter was very rude to the individual who preceded me in line. The customer reported the brakes were faulty on the vehicle he was given. The employee told him he could take it or leave it. This was the worst customer service I have seen in 64 years of life. All in all I should have gone with another company given that I paid $400 more than the original reservation. You will go out of business.

the gas gauge was inconsistent i went out with it on 1/4 i drove towards home maybe 2-3 miles and the gauge registered near Empty i put in 14 gallons it then read just above 1/2 i continued home maybe 1 -2 miles packed and left the next morning and the gauge read near 1/4 of a tank so i put another 14 gallons in. it then read just above 1/2 and stayed there but having a quirky quake made it so i had to put in a lot more gas than needed.

Ivory Chastine (the staff member we interacted with at the register) was extremely rude. The truck we reserved was filled to the brim with empty boxes and Ivory acted like we were an inconvenience to her even though we had nothing to do with the mess. In addition to the poor service, we were not allowed to return our replacement truck to our original drop off location, so we had to drive an additional 20 miles in order to return the rental.

Awesome!! The guys at UHaul on Broadway in Albany NY were great to deal with. they set me up, showed me all of the features including the safety features when i picked up the equipment. drop off was easy and convent. can't say enough good stuff about this experience. thank you guys for all the help!!

When I arrived to pick up the vehicle I reserved, I was told it was not available because the last customer had not yet returned it (8 ft pickup). Staff was apologetic, but no one even attempted to reach out ahead of time to see if any other option would be acceptable. Luckily what we were moving did fit in a cargo van, so we accepted that option. However, the cargo van we were given was borderline unsafe. Three different service lights were on for the van (oil, stability control, and one other that I can't remember at the moment). The van's dash also asked us to add oil immediately as we were driving back to the store. Additionally, I used the turn signal to indicate a right turn, and it started going double time, notifying me that one of the two bulbs were out. When returning the vehicle, I let the check-in staff know about these issues and I sincerely hope they took our words seriously because I would not want another customer to experience these same issues.

there is some disconnect between the online system and the procedures for pickup and dropoff at the physical location, if the person reserving is not the person driving/doing drop off and pick up.

Didn't have the truck I booked so used a smaller one, had to make two trips instead of one (2 hours each way) and then got charged for extra miles. Paid more to do more work because of U-Haul's mistake. Staff was friendly and helpful, though.

Needs more staff; don't rent equipment that doesn't exist on the lot; I reserved a truck and ended up having to drive 65 miles to Prattsville to pick it up because this location didn't have the right size and couldn't go pick it up themselves

Definitely below average. The staff is very unprofessional. When I got to the U-Haul to pick up my rental and storage unit there were several things that went wrong. They didn't have the size rental truck that I had reserved weeks in advance nor did they have the size storage unit I had reserved. They also ended up double charging me for my truck rental and I had to make several calls before a refund was processed. Definitely would not recommend

You need to add a section of the survey for your dispatch team. My original reservation was for your Schenectady location - when I arrived to pick up my van, I was told that it was double booked by dispatch and it was given to someone else. I was then told that I could to to 139 Broadway location in Ablany where a van would be waiting. had to Uber to this location, only to find that they had given it out to someone else - so they had changed my reservation, without my consent, to a 10' truck - which I didn't want because I was going to be using the vehicle to move into a city apartment. After 3 hours of standing in line waiting at your two locations, ubering between them I finally took the 10' truck. Which now cost me more money in gas. The people working at the counter in both locations were very nice, having to deal with a horrible reservation system, understaffed (one person working the counter and inspecting vehicles). But this experience overall was totally unacceptable

I was overcharged $200 for a truck when I only went 70 miles and was billed for going 705 miles then U-Haul is unable to refund me my money right then and there and tells me I have to wait up to five business days to get my money back on an error because of you guys which totally ruined my weekend for me to take out my girlfriend because that was essentially our date money.

The cargo van that we rented smelled like urine, and there were cigarette ashes in the water bottle holders. We didn't noticed the smelled until we closed the windows and put the ac on. When we returned the cargo van we told the attendant and he said he knew about it and would need to have it clean again. We rent every month but we don't want to rent a dirty cargo van.

Please commend your friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff, and keep them available by phone. When selecting a truck rental company recently, U-Haul Albany was the only place locally where I could talk to a person: others were all limited to online bookings, with no way to get questions answered as to vehicle specifics, etc.

The attendant at the outdoor booth should have air conditioning space. We have experienced a heatwave all week and he was working outside and in the shed/booth during very high heat which could be unsafe. Everyone we dealt with was very nice.

Update computer systems so they don't lag and time out. Have clear communication between employees so they don't give you a vehicle then have to come out and tell you they're giving you a different one and making the process take an hour long for a reservation made in advance. During drop-off the employee was rude and blunt... It was hot and I'm sure he was tired from a long day, sweating his entire body weight. But when I explained the mileage would be different he cut me off and said "I know it will be, obviously. You drove it." Without letting me explain "different" was because I quoted a higher number of miles than actually used so what I should be charged would be less than what I was quoted.

It was easy renting the uhual van with automatic check-in. I did have to call in about going through tolls to get to my location and that was easy as well. The van was clean and ready to go. Driving was smooth and gas used for trip was less than I thought it would be.

The truck was very dirty inside. We had a rear tire blow out going downhill on a busy highway in TN. The other rear was ready to blow out too. We waited on the side of the road for 3 hours on a very hot day waiting for both rear tires to be replaced. They knew our trip was from update NY to FL and sent us on the road with 2 bad tires which is so dangerous and totally unacceptable. We are waiting for a call back from uhaul as we filed a complaint at the uhaul place we turned the truck in to in FL.

Tire pressure dropped after so many miles, so drastically we had to go 90 miles out of the way to a service center. Back tail lights only worked when breaking, was told we'd get a call from the manager this past Sunday about potentially getting the additional 90 miles back in money (as, it was out of our way) and received no call. Doubt we'll hear back but as a customer service rep it was just sad to see.

Truck windows were dirty (they always are). Clean the windows between rentals. Driver's side door had some kind of a seal/air leak that was very loud at speed. Noise was right next to driver's head and very annoying.

I was charged $20 over the miles fee. When I complained about having to drive 30 miles out of my way to get the truck at another location, I was never compensated for those extra miles in my contract. The new truck pick up location was, you guessed it 30 miles more.

Mohammed and Ivy were both helpful. The person working outside that was supposed to receive my return was not. I waited about 30 minutes in the return area. Finally Ivy came out to ask him to help me. He refused. Told he was not going to do anything until they get more help in. He threatened to go home. Ivy then enlisted Mohammed to help me. He did and was courteous. He forgot to log in my return. I called later in the day and Ivy logged the return.

Unfortunately, and employee left with the facility keys, blocking customer access to the stairwell and elevators. This prevented me from moving into the unit I rented while I had a uhaul truck full of my possessions. However, the Staff were able to creatively and quickly address my issue to my satisfaction. Their kindness was much appreciated as well!

There was construction work going on with loud noise and debris in the air. We were there for over 1 1/2 hours. Our representative was helpful but easily distracted. None of the other 6 employees were doing anything to help. One employee was disrespectful to me by telling me I shouldn't be getting the 1 month free storage unit offer despite not managing my rentals. She just sat there and was making rude comments. We then were given a uhaul that was not accessible. It was one of the most unpleasant and unprofessional experiences I've ever had.

Overall, the convenience was ok. Not enough flat carts for storage items. Elevator entry takes a while, when someone else gets to on, I had to swipe my card again.

I asked for an 8 by 16 and completed the paperwork, purchased the required lock, which no other storage facilities require, and attempted to access the Unit. When I got to the 5th floor, there was a lock on it. I had to go all the way back downstairs, then outside back to the counter. There were at least 4 staff available who could have told me the unit was locked, or better yet, actually unlocked for me once it was reserved. When I came back to put my items in storage, I accessed the facility but then was denied elevator access. I had rented storage at this facility in the past and had elevator access problems EVERY time I was in the building. It's aggravating, and unnecessary. Nobody offers to fix it, they just have a staff person get on and use their card to get you to your floor. The office was not busy when I was there. My unit could have been unlocked for me once I completed my reservation. I had back surgery a few weeks ago and it is difficult to walk long distances. I don't know why I had to go back and forth up and down 5 floors so I could tell the front desk there was a lock on the unit. They already knew. Waste of time and unnecessarily difficult.

I used to be scared to rent storage units because I never knew what they were like but my unit and the facility settled my fears. Originally we only planned to use it a month or two but ended up keeping it almost 1,5 years. Merci.

Staff is very helpful and actually listen to what you have to say and what your questions and concerns are. The employee I mostly dealt with was David. I hope to encounter David the next time I need assistance or have a question.

I have been complaining about the hallway lights for about a year for unit 6176 not working. I've been told repeatedly they will be fixed. Rent increased according to the letter to upgrade electrical abs lighting but still the hall lights do not work. I worked like to thank Shannon, Laurie and David for going above and beyond to help me and make me feel valued. Jonathan Knapp. Trucker.

The first space I was given was in use. The staff helped to find another eventually. The facility was incredibly hot and humid, with water dripping in some places.

While I could easily answer yes to your questions above, I simply can't give U-Haul of Albany more than 2 Stars. Accessing my unit (located on the 2nd floor) was incredibly frustrating because the elevator/key card/punch code system wouldn't work and every time I had the issue staff said "yeah, the second floor doesn't work." While the staff was helpful in solving the issue each time, it's clear U-Haul of Albany isn't investing in upkeep of their facility. U-Haul of Albany needs to: 1) fix its elevator service, or 2) fix the key card system.
