Online reservations is very difficult. The website takes a very long time to respond, and there was no confirmation that submitting the form went through until I got a message. Additionally, why did I enter my credit card online if they then needed to take it when I got to the location? Getting the van with only 1/4 a tank of gas was quite annoying as well. I went to pick up my van at 9:10,and didn't leave the location until 10. The site was severely understaffed, and it wasn't until more staff arrived that the line moved at a reasonable pace

I asked for an 8 by 16 and completed the paperwork, purchased the required lock, which no other storage facilities require, and attempted to access the Unit. When I got to the 5th floor, there was a lock on it. I had to go all the way back downstairs, then outside back to the counter. There were at least 4 staff available who could have told me the unit was locked, or better yet, actually unlocked for me once it was reserved. When I came back to put my items in storage, I accessed the facility but then was denied elevator access. I had rented storage at this facility in the past and had elevator access problems EVERY time I was in the building. It's aggravating, and unnecessary. Nobody offers to fix it, they just have a staff person get on and use their card to get you to your floor. The office was not busy when I was there. My unit could have been unlocked for me once I completed my reservation. I had back surgery a few weeks ago and it is difficult to walk long distances. I don't know why I had to go back and forth up and down 5 floors so I could tell the front desk there was a lock on the unit. They already knew. Waste of time and unnecessarily difficult.

I have had trouble the past two times with online check in. I have rented several trucks and have 3 storage units and I do not understand the difficulty with checking in online.

No furniture dolly as requested, and first truck given had check engine light and tow haul indicator on. Was told not to worry about tow/haul but was given another truck. That trucks check engine light also came on before leaving. Staff put tester on and was able to turn check engine light off. Was told not to worry as staff called someone and was given that direction. Learned on trip that there is a button on the end of shift that easily turns on tow/haul and puts strain on engine and uses more gas. Was not told anything about that button either. This was a long and stressful trip and didn't need to be.

My experience was horrible.. If I can give zero stars I would.. Granted the day I rented the truck it rained so the top of the truck was leaning inside of the back part we're I had all my furniture and my boxes. The boxes had got so wet that the all ripped at the bottom from being wet, I had to spend a extra 100 dollars to go buy new boxes so I can rebid of everything on back of the truck.. I payed for a dolly and a furniture dolly which was not on the truck.. I would not rent from 13@ ever again.. And I feel that they could of took a percentage off due to the back of the truck leaking and my stuff getting wet and messed up and I had to spend extra money to buy more boxes.

Your ios app stinks. When I tried to check the trailer in after hours your app would not load. Then when I tried to check in via your web site I could NOT get the camera to work (I did try the camera out and it was working fine). I like UHaul and I love the branch at 139 Boradway in Albany but many more experiences like this and I will have to rethink my preferences.

I like this location. It is a bit understaffed but the folks that work there do their best. As a side note, I tried to return my rental early and check it back in via your website. The link did not work on my phone, when I got home I tried it on my PC but was told that I could not return because my location could not be determined. I called in and was told someone would call me back in 63 minutes, then I called up a "chat"...told I could not be helped because I was not at the location, so I wrote an email an hoped for the best. Fortunately, I was not charged an extra day....BUT....it was a lot of work to get there. Improving your mobile functionality and/or process for return wouold have saved me some trouble.

I used to be scared to rent storage units because I never knew what they were like but my unit and the facility settled my fears. Originally we only planned to use it a month or two but ended up keeping it almost 1,5 years. Merci.

David Jones and Mike provided exceptional customer service both were professional and knowledgeable and worked to ensure my dad and I had a safe trip. The Indian guy (sorry don't remember his name) works mornings needs to pay more attention to detail and do full walk through with customers as he was inattentive and lazy. He didn't even let us know our truck was trash and we were just standing there waiting.

I have been complaining about the hallway lights for about a year for unit 6176 not working. I've been told repeatedly they will be fixed. Rent increased according to the letter to upgrade electrical abs lighting but still the hall lights do not work. Staff was very good and helpful but truck was not ready to rent condition. Rear tire had a nail in it and only had 20 psi. Spent 3+ hours getting a new tire. Truck a/c failed shortly after leaving on a one way to Florida. This truck may be fine for short local moves but not for 1200 mile one way. I am a former U-Haul GM and marketing company employee for 16 years and this was not how we sent trucks out before. Why was the tire pressure not checked?

Make sure the parts are there prior to scheduled service. I had to drop my car off twice to get my prepaid hitch installed. At a minimum for service this poor a refund of the install fee should be offered

The truck size I reserved 3 weeks prior wasn't there, half the staff seemed incompetent or not to care, the REPLACEMENT truck also turned out not to be there, and it took an hour before we actually drove away in a larger truck. Huge inconvenience. Oh and I could never log back into the Uhaul account I set up or receive a Forgot Your Password link so the frustration was not limited to just this location but to the online system as well

Before allowing units to be rented and driven from the lot, please inspect and repair these vehicles. The unit I rented needed an alignment, which is a basic maintenance service. I experienced repeated pulling while driving that would have been avoided had the vehicle received this service. Instead, the pulling caused me to endanger my son's life and the other drivers around me.

When I arrived, I received a notification from the app that my equipment had not been assigned yet. When I spoke to an associate, she told me they didn't have a truck for me. Another associate then told me they simply hadn't checked in the equipment and we had to do the check in process in person vs on the app (my preferred method). Because the truck was not checked in, the rest of my rental items (blankets, dolly, utility dolly) were not ready, truck was barely cleaned (trash still in cab). The associate told me they were out of blankets, but I asked the runners if he could find me blankets and he was able to fulfill my order. I have had great service so far, and was very surprised by the disorganized staff at this location.

Rented a cargo van and they reserved a 10' truck for me. Gave me a truck with a check engine light on. After bringing it up to the people at the front desk they told me it was their only vehicle left and that i “should just take it”.

Site locations have good service. Trying to navigate certain items like online renewal or extension are complicated and not easily done without a live person on the phone. This is a consistent issue with your company. Overall, I like the service though.

While I could easily answer yes to your questions above, I simply can't give U-Haul of Albany more than 2 Stars. Accessing my unit (located on the 2nd floor) was incredibly frustrating because the elevator/key card/punch code system wouldn't work and every time I had the issue staff said "yeah, the second floor doesn't work." While the staff was helpful in solving the issue each time, it's clear U-Haul of Albany isn't investing in upkeep of their facility. U-Haul of Albany needs to: 1) fix its elevator service, or 2) fix the key card system.

Horrible rude and almost willfully unhelpful staff, facility dangerously hot in summer months with no access to water free or otherwise like in vending machine. Suffered heat stroke while moving into unit. And then treated as a criminal element every time I returned to access unit, which was a great deterrent to continuing a service contract with U-haul your employee's are your public face. Fix your face.

We signed up online and paid for a unit in your Erie St facility. We received an email with the access codes (but no instructions on how to use them) and were told that our unit was unlocked and ready for us. When we arrived, we had trouble figuring out how to get in due to poor instructions and were only successful after another customer helped us. When we got to the unit, it was locked,. Repeated calls to customer service wen unanswered. The cell of the GM went to a voice mail and was never answered. The intercom was never answered and there was no one on site to help. We drove to the Broadway Office where Megan was very helpful, switched our rental to that building, and then showed us how to work the security system. A process that should have been easy took two hours in total.

I was charged a different price than what was quoted in my reservation. The manager was supposed to call me but never did. I'm definitely disappointed that I had to pay more than I expected, and no one ever reached out to me even after my numerous attempts at having this issue resolved.

Had to wait at least an hour and a half just to see my storage unit and had to wait another 30 minutes just to speak to another staff member even though I have already waited the hour and a half. I was also put in back of a very long line for no reason when my situation was simple and no work was needed. Did not like the service but the storage unit was clean, just did not like the pillars in the way.

I had some issues on my move in day. I was assured on Saturday 5/22 that the customer elevators would be in order by Sunday 5/23 which was the day I was moving into my unit with a full apartment of items. On Sunday when I arrived with my full UHaul I also rented there was no working elevator. I asked an employee inside who said "someone was working on it right now." I went back and waited for awhile by the elevators but no one was currently working on it. I finally went back inside and asked that someone operate a freight elevator because I needed to load my things into the unit that day. Finally someone came but it was a pretty big issue and many other customers were trying to move in and out of units so it was difficult to use the elevator and the employee had a hard time keeping up with the various floors people had to go to.

We just moved our girls belongings into one of the storage units and also rented a van to transport everything. The staff was so helpful and courteous it was just a smooth experience overall. Thank you guys for allowing us to make this move for our girls so easy!

I requested a 4x8 without the pole inside I was giving unit 3401 on the third floor I had help with me and I was on a time schedule working with them only to find out we arrived at the unit it had a pole on the inside so I was forced because of time and help to try to make my things fit and there were other items I couldn't put in I contacted the customer service I even went into the unit the next day to talk to someone and they said they couldn't handle it they take notes and somebody will get back with me I think I deserve a decrease in my bill because I was forced to take a unit that I specifically said that I did not need

My experience with Uhaul Storage Facility was TOP NOTCH! The staff members were friendly and professional. The facility was clean and I always had access to my unit. I am very displeased with uhaul as I got the storage unit and a truck. I was told that the lock would be removed off the unit so I could load my things and much to my suprise when I got to the storage unit after uhaul closed but storage was still open my unit still had a store lock on it which caused me to have to drive back to we're I picked up my stuff which added more miles and took more gas. I really hope this is not how uhaul does business

l am a very busy man, l get 1 day off a month!!! The elevator was down. There wasn't a sign & the front desk didn't seem to care? Very unprofessional, l will not recommend your facility & our relationship will be short. The gentleman who signed me up was extremely helpful & courteous. Saturday staff however, didn't seem to care that the elevator was down & didn't or couldn't tell me when it would be operational?
