The online check in didn’t work several errors gave the same truck to two customers when I went to pick it up. Just really difficult and annoying and untrustworthy. Luckily the staff there just checked me in. But it took a while. Really defeats the point of online check out check in

I have zero complaints about the staff. They are super friendly and professional AND very patient with an irritated customer like me who keeps having to add invasive procedures to my checkout process. Last time it was calling a friend to verify my name, this time it's a picture of my face. There has to be a better way to verify the customer's identity without resorting to this protocol. It's a truck rental not passport control. I am done renting from Uhaul after this last addition. "All the info will be purged when you return your rental" That sounds simple but if companies like Equifax, Yahoo and Marriot can be hacked how can anyone possibly trust a budget rental company that now has both sides of my driver's license, a picture of my face and closest associates on record?

My issue is with U-haul policies not this store in particular. To announce once I get there that I must allow a photo to be taken of me because I am renting a cargo van is unacceptable. You already take my phone #, insist on an alternate #, take a photo of my driver's license and have my cc #. That should be enough. Instead I am threatened with a piece of paper from management that says the employee will get fired if they do not take my photo. To top it off, now I have to confirm via my cell phone the mileage, gas and condition of the vehicle before leaving the lot. There is ZERO customer service being provided by U-Haul and due to other's abuse we are all paying the price. Stop being putting it all on the customer and look for better ways to improve your business besides technology, invasion of privacy and threats!

The customer rep gave me a smaller truck than I asked for, before my reservation I asked him to show me the exact truck he made me feel he knew which truck I was talking about, when I went for pick up the truck was smaller he blamed me when I told him off after being upset he got rude and was cursing at me back, he charged me for a dolly that was never in the truck, then told me later he would charge me .89 cents a mile instead of $1.09 a mile he never honored the rate, I won’t be coming back to this spot ever again they are so unprofessional.

Get rid of the confusing 1/8-1/4 tank gas policy. It doesn’t make sense and is misleading. Just have customers refill the tank like a car rental place does. Also, to improve your service and help out your customers, offer rides home!

The manager/ owner was on his phone the whole time from my arrival through the rental of my storage unit. A new employee was trying to help me rent the unit, but he was unsure on many steps in the process so we would have to sit and wait for the manager to come over and help, all while he still spoke on the phone. After his roughly 30-45 minute phone conversation ended, he still did not seem very welcoming or helpful.

They were having trouble with their computer system, so check out was slow and may have been the source of billing discrepancies I had at my drop off location. One problem was that I got charged for an extra day - that got reimbursed, later. The other was that when I made my reservation online, 150 miles were included. I was given the extra miles (and the extra day) because I agreed to drop off at a farther (43miles) location in return for a discount. Somehow, by the time I finished checking out at this location it was only 122 miles allowed - even though I had a conversation with the clerk about the miles - I told him it was 150 (online agreement) and that I planned on going an extra 15 or so. He said he added an extra 20, but the next day I noticed it was only 122, total, not 170. I ended up having to pay for an additional 28 miles for this mistake ($11.20 plus tax) - not a lot of money - but how many people does this happen to? (That could really add up).

Recently rented a pick up truck from this location. Coming up to the truck in the lot was a vehicle parked really close to the driver door. Almost any space to even open the door halfway. Asked an employee if the car can be moved to better access the truck. The employee's response was "just get in through the other side". Which was also a tight squeeze from the door to a light post. A box truck near the driveway making it difficult to even get the truck out. Next time I would just like to be ready to go.

Made reservation 2 days earlier to pick up Truck at Glendale. Reservation was meaningless as they didn't have my truck. Luckly there was one at another location, but I don't recommend UHaul. If you can't trust a reservation made by phone and confirmed by email and text what's the point. Needing a truck at a particular time isn't a casual affair. Never again. Unfortunately the web is full of these kinds of reviews. In office staff was courteous, but the biz model stinks. If you're doing VERY short hauls with no time restrictions, ok. They're expensive otherwise. In this case you don't get what you paid for.

I believe that is something the employee at the site still needs to conduct with the customer. This company is truly doing a disservice to the customers to confirm all these matters before taking possession of the vehicle via the link or app.

Manager/Owner was a total dick. I believe his name is Kenneth Neal. I actually called him an asshole to his face. They messed up my return 3 times yet blamed it on me and the manager/owner literally told me to my face that “I wasn’t listening” and “that’s on you” I had to explain to him that I did everything he had asked me to do to the letter and I proved it. He didn’t like being wrong and tried to take it out on me. Absurdly unprofessional.

I originally opted in for the mobile pick up. I didn’t receive any instructions so I tried to ask one of the employees when I arrived since there were no signs, etc. There were NO OTHER customers there. This man was rude and dismissive. The woman who was working kept cussing. They forgot the dolly I had rented and then basically threatened me that if I dented the “brand new” van, I would have to pay for it. Also, wouldn’t answer any of my questions. It was a HORRIBLE experience.

I am tired of renting from you and getting only a partially filled tank. I only went about 5 miles. The gal at the time of my rental told me to not worry about the gas. I didn't and then was charged $6.50 for gas when I returned it. I will go elsewhere next time for rental.

Location is smaller than I’m used to and has no customer parking so it was a bit of an extra hassle. But the employees were very nice and helpful and overall the check out/check in of the vehicle went smoothly. The truck itself was very old and a little cosmetically beat up, but it was all superficial and it ran well for it’s age.
