The worker did not move from the counter. We later learned there should have been a walkthrough done and he was supposed to let us know to grab the extra things we rented/bought. I ended up being charged a lot extra because it turns outs the odometer was incorrect and instead of 3 miles of travel, it insisted I did 23. When we called to fix the situation, we were told nothing would be done and it was OUR fault since we didnt do the walkthrough, as if we were supposed to know. The situation was absolutely ridiculous and we got zero help.

Marcia B. | Expérience généraleThe truck I was given was a 2008. It's not fit to be on the highway. When I rented it I told them on the phone and in person I was moving from Connecticut to Ohio. This truck is a death trap. At 50 mph the transmission would jump to over 4000 rpm's. I drove around 45 mph the entire time from Ohio to Connecticut and back. It took me 12 1/2 hrs one way when gos said 7 hrs 40 minutes. The truck swerved all over the highway because of the play in the steering wheel. Please keep it off the highway!!! The new trucks parked on your lot have nice chrome bumpers and attracted me in thinking I'd get a newer truck. I got a rust bucket truck. It's garbage!! Keep it for in town use ONLY!!!

If they're missing it was not my doing. I'm not a 'blanket thief'.

Justin S.It's unfortunate but the uhaul leaked and some of my belongings got wet and ruined on my cross country drive. I was told upon drop off that the trucks are water resistant and not waterproof. Luckily I go the insurance so I can make a claim but this information wasn't given to me when I booked the uhaul or when I picked it up. This is something that should definitely be told to customers before they book.
Paul C.The strap on the dolly we were given was barely long enough to go around the freezer we were moving. There wasn't even an inch to pull thru the rings & we had a very difficult time securing the freezer to move it. The little bit of strap (fed thru the ring) kept coming loose. When we returned the truck & dolly, I mentioned this to the person inside. She said it must have been an oversized freezer. I said no, it was a small to regular sized upright freezer. I said we should have been given a larger dolly with a longer strap when we said we were moving a freezer. She replied that they don't have a dolly with a longer strap, but I could see them in the showroom, so I knew she wasn't being honest. I also mentioned that my husband cut four of his fingers on a sharp edge of the dolly while lifting it. I asked if she wanted us to show her the sharp edge so they could file it so it isn't sharp. She said no. I felt we should be compensated for the injury by giving us a discount, but she said she couldn't do that.

When I returned it, the spot was right near the front door. Also, I confirmed online, uploaded my drivers license but still had to produce it. A big waste of my time. Plus, the jury rigged, rubber door stopper failed and lodged it from closing. I had remove 3 nuts and bolts to continue my move and wasted more of my valuable time. Mary P.I had reserved the trailer a week in advance in Ravenna Ohio because I was driving in from out of town to pick up furniture and on the day before I was to pick it up I was called and was told that that location did not have the trailer I had reserved, and if I wanted that size trailer I had to go to the U-Haul location in Austintown Ohio to pick it up that was about 30 miles away from the original reservation location . I'm not sure what the reservations policy is but I think I should have been advised at the time I made reservation that it was not available at the Ravenna Ohio location because it took me over an hour and a half extra to get the trailer I know I won't get a response back is this a normal practice with U-Haul ?

When I returned the truck I mentioned that point to the receptionist, she exclaimed "air conditioning is a luxury and nothing you would have serviced." Also she charged me $33 for gas which I felt was excessive, I was not that much below the initial little over a half a tank that was in the truck when I picked it up!

Only reason not rated excellent was upon arrival to the storage facility to pick up a truck we reserved we were told we had to go to another facility, I never received a text message that the facility for pick up was changed, Luckily the pick up facility was only 3 miles away. There was possibly a phone call but with all the spam calls received I don't answer calls that are not identified and no voice mail message was left. The truck was very clean and we were offered a discount to return it to another facility a few miles from our new home.
