There was only one employee so wait to rent the truck was very long but then when I bought it back the wait to return was even longer. then I have people screaming and shouting at me to move the truck to another location even though I repeatedly advised them thats where the attendant told me to park and if I move the truck and it gets damaged I am liable and the attendant didn't come outside to handle the situation for good 30 minutes

It was a Saturday and it seemed like there were only 2 staff members working. They were great but there were not enough of them! It made for a slow (30 minute) check-in process even though I had already done the pre-check in. Upon returning the truck, there was so much activity that many customers seemed frustrated not having enough room to get in/out. Plus there is very limited customer parking.

Since my uhaul truck and dolley were towed from parking illegal (unknowingly) the truck overnight in a drugstore parking lot, it’s been the biggest nightmare to get my things back. I’ve gotten several different invoices. The most recent includes things they took out of the truck to store. I can’t get in touch with anyone half the time to speak to the 1 woman who handles towing to get it. Nightmare. Go to Santa Monica!

Had to wait in line for FORTY minutes, not exaggerating I promise. There was one person on a Saturday morning attending to a line of at least 10 people. On top of that, she was unprofessional, making inappropriate side conversation with what looked to be a little brother or relative, and was not very friendly. Bad experience overall and definitely would not recommend for myself or anyone else in the future.

The customer service representative Amber was amazing, she is overqualified for this location and should not only be given a raise immediately, but also a promotion to the corporate office to, among other things, train others how to effectively represent U-Haul to customers. She has a variety of high-level skills including multitasking, ability to prioritize issues and resolve them quickly, ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and priorities, ability to communicate effectively to a variety of different constituencies simultaneously, to quickly get to the root of an issue and provide the best guidance, then quickly offer alternatives if obstacles to that solution arise, all while remaining calm, confident, in control, polite and courteous to everyone in the space. She was able to demonstrate all of this in the 5min I had the pleasure of watching her in action. U-Haul is clearly underutilizing her skills by placing her in this position at this branch, and the fact that she has not already been promoted to a leadership position at U-Haul's corporate office is more a reflection of U-Haul's lack of strategic planning and ability to maximize the potential of its own assets than anything else.

The entire experience was total chaos. I chose my truck and location on the website, but someone called me to say I had to go to another location. Fine. The emails on the day of rental were all directing me to the initial location I chose. I did not, thankfully. When I got to the new location the rental took a long time and they did not even tell me that my truck was available, I was just left standing outside until someone inside came out to tell me that a truck someone had driven to the exit was mine. There were several people picking up trucks so I had no way of guessing that. We discovered that the 2 dollies I had rented were not in the truck once we got to the storage unit. Great. My friends stupidly returned the truck with 1/8 of a tank of gas too little, so I was charged $63 for that. Unreasonable. Now I’m looking at my bank account and see that this location is attempting to charge another $75 to my credit card. Wtf! This is an unauthorized charge and I will be contacting my bank! 6 hours with a truck has cost me $400! JUST the truck. That’s an effing truck payment. If you are feeling wealthy use uhaul. Otherwise prepare to be gouged.

Worst experience and will never use again. Checked out trailer at 6:30 pm, and returned that same night at around midnight. But I was charged for two days worth of use. Poor service, long wait times, are not knowledgeable about equipment. Really poor service. Almost willing to say they are liars. Very upset and unhappy with your company for this event. Will never use this company again. Woman that helped me was Amber Arzu and the other person was James I believe. But Amber was the person in the office. Very displeased.

The rental experience was fine. The truck was fine. Everything was spoiled when I returned the truck. I filled the van to the 3/4 level it was when I rented. I then drove the track about 1/2 mile to the Baldwin Hills U-haul. When the Van was checked in I was told that there was less than 3/4 of a tank but more than 5/8 of a tank but I still had to be charged $8.25 for gas. Unbelievable. The guy checking took the " i am just doing my job" approach to my protest. Imagine $8.25 for less than 1/8 of a tank of gas. Even in LA that is outrageous. That is all I will remember ( and tell others about) about this otherwise fine experience. Thanks

I think some of the representative of this location could use a class in customer service. The driver that finally bought the truck to the front of the building just jumped out and slammed the door without saying one word. When you have a line reaching the door, you do something to help get the people out. We shouldn't have to to wait for service over thirty minutes. The truck was clean but had a hard time getting a car to start.

The service good and friendly although the track had some issues. when I received the truck I did not know that the cabin door has a lock on it and I could not open the back when I arrived at my first stop so I had at least an hour delay. Even I tried calling the Uhaul location I could not reach the staff for help. I did call the customer service line and reported the incident and requested that they contact the Uhaul location but I never received response. So I had to find help from a friend who was able to take the lock of the door so that I can finally begin the loading process. This ordeal delayed my moving schedule by over two hours and made us have to spend more time in LA traffic. This Uhaul rental experience made me very frustrated and feeling short-changed. I hope that more care is taken to provide better truck service to customers in the future.

This was the third location that I had to go to that night in order to drop off the truck. It was absolutely ridiculous that I wasn't able to be placed at the right location until the third attempt. I ended up being in this dangerous neighborhood by myself at 11pm and did not feel safe.

Scheduling is terrible. Customer service is awful. I was hung up on multiple times after spending hours on the phone (mostly on hold). Absolutely nothing was done in the correct and agreed timeline. No one to talk to about refunds. Overall, I would never recommend using u-haul

Customer service sent me to three locations to return my truck. After 3 hours of driving between locations I was finally able to drop of the vehicle. I had been moving all day and to have the customer service team tell me that all of the lots around me were full - made for a horrible experience. I put fuel into the truck near the original drop off location and then burned up the gas driving to each location. This was unacceptable, especially having to drive the truck at night with my wife and children.

After over 2 years of renting the cargo van at the same location, I experienced the most terrifying situation. While I was taking care of the mobile procedure ready to leave the lot, I was giving the poor review on cleaning. The cargo van was having a nasty strong cigarette smell. Suddenly, I heard a noise right behind me (driver side) I look up the turned my head, at that time a African-American homeless got up, this person was sleeping in the cargo van. He scared the heck out of me, I jumped off the van, screaming for help then I realized the van was on and my belongings where in there, ran back into the van to turned off to prevent the suspect to take off. Then ran back into the office to report. I thought that when the van is ready for the customers to take off someone already check it out.

Not fault of this location, but I was annoyed that after a customer service rep in Arizona told me that if I do an afterhours drop off it would still count as a single day rental (7:15pm - 7:00PM + after hours), I found out that it would count as two days since the drop off would be time-stamped by the mobile app. This felt like false advertising to sell me a reservation under its actual price.

Dont guarantee vehicle at specific times. Dont block path when you have scheduled mobile pickups. Dont let customers pick a time that no employee is available. Have the store manager pick up his phone if being called. Have regional marketing manager pick up her phone when being called. The first customer support transferred me to not have to deal with me, second customer support was AWESOME, she calmed me down and tried her best to help.

Your customer service professional Lisa with whom I spoke to via chat for the 24/7 truck share was far from professional and rude. I was asked to remove my head wrap (the first problem) when I captured a selfie to verify my identity. That is a violation of my civil rights. After trying to ask why this was necessary, she said management required it, so I went to a private area and took it off, took the selfie and then was told I could not complete the process via the app and had to go into the store to finish. It made the process longer and frustrating. I use you all often but this experience really upset me and I couldn’t cancel, as I was relying on the rental

Everyone working was extremely helpful, yet this location was seriously understaffed for a Saturday morning. Cesar was great, yet he was completely swamped with customers and was barely able to help anyone fully because of the high volume and lack of support! I felt terrible for him. The 2 star rating is more a rating towards the management staff. Either hire more employees or hire employees who will actually show up to work when they are scheduled. Otherwise this will continue to happen, and customers will continue to leave unsatisfied.

This was the second Uhaul we had to use for our move because of frustrating and exhausting complications with our apartment. Amber was incredibly understanding and helpful and made our days and lives so much easier by helping us extend our rental when our apartment wasn’t ready for move in and when our moving help fell through. If she had not been so kind and helpful to us, our already difficult move would have been made much more stressful and difficult. The address was wrong. The street signs state it’s Rodeo Street and the address given is Obama Blvd. I was an hour late because I could not find the location because of wrong signage and I was charged a full extra day. Then it took the attendant a half hour to get to help me.

This is a large U-Haul location which is always under staffed. We encountered a problem with the mileage driven and were unable to quickly drop the vehicle with the man outside taking the returns. Inside, the agent was unhelpful. It was my word against the agent who gave us the vehicle for the mileage used and I lost the battle.

The self check out was not easy and still required going in for the key. The customer service was horrible. We asked for a dolly and there wasn’t one, we called them and let them know and we still got charged for it. We returned the vehicle before our due back time and got charged for an extra day. We will not recommend the service or location. Costs way too much for that port of service.

There was damage on my report that I wasn't responsible for. If I was honest enough to report the driver side mirror being damaged, I'd report the "dent and scratch on the door" also, but that was on the truck at pickup. I was initially charged for a 7-day rental period although I only had the vehicle for 6 days. I'm going through a hardship, I thought the insurance was for the rental period, not the daily rate which was almost $90. I understand I had the truck longer than anticipated, but I didn't expect my report to be falsified or to pay $303 although you all had already taken almost $100 since Tuesday.

I was charged for a little dent on the truck that I didn’t do, because when I picked it up it was at 7am and still a little bit dark so when I walked around I was actually looking for scratches and not dents which are almost impossible to spot them unless you see it from a angle with the right day light, I never lost side of the truck when I rented it, so I’m positive that the little damage was done on a different acation, I returned the truck the same day I rented it but I don’t know why they didn’t put it in the system so I was charged for 2 days instead of 1, also it was a charged for gasoline which I mention it to the manager too, that I put $10 of gas and only drove the truck 26 miles, but I went to check the truck in the lot and it had 3 miles over then when I dropped it, sure enough, the manager admitted taking it to an auto parts place, my invoice said that I dropped it overnight but it is not true because I dropped it off the same day and the surveillance cameras should show it

This passed weekend I rented a van and though the van was thoroughly inspected outside and in by myself and the employee I found out as I drove that there were no hazard lights working on the vehicle nor was there blinkers working on the vehicle. It was a very dangerous and scary situation for me driving here in LA with a broken vehicle. When I returned the vehicle I reported the problems. But I feel that I should have received a discount on the price for having a faulty vehicle. But none was offered. Next time I rent a vehicle I will probably try another company. From making the reservation with a rep over the phone the customer service was fantastic. Then when it was time to get my truck and storage, Amber and Cesar was awesome, they made moving day less stressful!! I would definitely recommend the Baldwin Hills location. Go U-Haul!!!

My reservation was changed TWICE the day of. The original reservation was for 7pm, around noon the day of I get a phone call that the van wasn’t available. We changed it to a new location for 10pm. When I arrived for pick the van wasn’t available. They found an alternative van available at yet ANOTHER location. When I arrived for that pick up they had me do an online verification process which took TWO HOURS! They asked for a secondary contact during the process which I provided. The application never stated that they would be calling that contact to verify my identify. They attempted to call my contact who lives in Chicago at 2AM local time. They NEVER ONCE asked for my permission to call them during the initial application. In order to get the keys to the van they needed to speak to that contact. I then had to find someone awake at 12:30AM for them to call. Ridiculous.

Hoy pase por una muy mala experiencia con ustedes, me dicen inspecciona la camioneta, la inspecciono lateral atras y enfrente, la camioneta creo es de las mas dañadas que tenian muy raspada, sólo le marque dos golpes que tenía, nunca me imagine que me iban a salir con lo que me salieron, resulta que casi al instante la persona encuentra una pequeña parte de metal levantada del lado derecho arriba del techo de la camioneta y casi que asume que yo le hice ése daño, pero yo respondo que es imposible por que yo cuide la camioneta, no puedo pagar algo de lo cual yo no tenga la culpa. Aclaró que la persona reconoce que el tampoco miró ése daño cuando yo recogí dicha camioneta. Y cuándo la entrego siendo que es en una ezquina arriba del techo de pronto es lo primero que mira. Me niego a pagar y siento que esto es por sacar dinero extra de los clientes. Tendre que hablar a TELEMUNDO 52 alguien quien pueda exponer a esta locacion de ésta compañía U-HAUL.

1. I scheduled the trailer online and it gave me a close by location option for a trailer pick up, then was called the next day and told they don't have trailers available at that location-it should not have been an option then! 2. The trailer was extremely expensive to rent. When I rented a slightly larger one to come down to CA it still cost over 200 dollars less than the small one I picked up in Los Angeles. 3.I had done the "express" check in online and had to wait a while. Even people without reservations were helped first. 4. While the gentleman that processed my trailer rental was very kind and helpful the pricess of getting the trailer took at least an hour to get.

I was "happy" with my rental but unfortunately during my trip on two occasions it stalled on me, the second time an engine light turned on. I was able to finish my move but lost time moving and I hired 2 men to help me so it cost me additional money. Also, the pick up by phone option has to be cleaned up a bit, I physically saw two counter help people get assisted while I was still waiting for my info to be "confirmed" which again slowed me down.

The agent that checked in my vehicle was unprofessional and didn't know how to do his job. He couldn't distinguish a scratch from a smudge. I have never scared or scratched a vehicle and if I did I would of pointed it out. Besides, that guy went to the scratch like he knew right where it was. And then I had to teach him how to check vehicle for scratches. He didn't take his hand and rub the area to tell if it was a scratch. Now I will be extra super vidulant as to who is around my vehicle while I have it and when checking in. Insurance scamming is illegal.

Had a disastrous experience with UHaul. Scheduled a 20’ truck to pick up in Santa Monica. My daughter & her husband were flying in to pick up furniture and had to leave early the next day. Got an email around 10am day of pickup that we had to go to western ave location even though this was nowhere near where we lived. Got there at 6pm after picking her up from lax to find out the truck wasn’t there-prior renter was supposed to return at noon & dodnt. No one thought to call him to find out his plans until we showed up an hit before they closed. Then stood around on the phone with a supervisor for 20 minutes while they tried to find another truck. Ended up having to drive to yet another location to pick up a truck. No apology. No accountability. Luckily we were able to race over to the other location and it worked out but literally worst customer service. They couldn’t have cared less. Unfortunately they have a monopoly and consumers don’t have a lot of choice. Thankfully I seldom have to deal with them.
