Tire kept loosing pressure and had to make three additional stops for air. Cost me time and $. In addition I was way overcharged on mileage. VERY frustrated that the truck was not ready. I was handed keys and told to go find it. The truck did not have the additional moving items I had rented, I had to go in and ask for them to get them. They threw them in the truck but didn't close the truck, I had to do their job for them. I have rented from U-Haul many times, this was my worst experience.ALICIA H.

It appears that U-haul is not maintaining equipment the way they use to. This was the second 26' truck and auto transport I have rented in the last eight weeks and the second time that the A/C didn't work! The vehicles front end alignment was off. I hope I never have to rent from uhaul again. My comments have nothing to do with the store that I rented from, I'm speaking to the larger company issues that I have experienced with my last two rentals.STEVEN DEAN D.

Location is excellent and the parking was easy to manuver with a large truck and car in tow. plenty of room to back and load/unload and the carts to carry items to and from are very helpful. The only issue I had was a miscommunication (not sure who's fault) on the address I provided in Portland that the customer service agent used to determine the drop off location. When I got to Portland, I realized the drop off point was in Albany which was an hour away in the wrong direction. When I called the 1-800 number to change the drop off location, I was transferred to your scheduling team in Oregon (541-744-4480). When I explained that a miscommunication occurred on the drop off location, I was rudely informed that they wouldn't change the drop off location and that I would have to deliver it to Albany. The woman I spoke with twice told me, "You signed the contract." I work in a customer service industry, and her customer service skills were horrible and she demonstrated absolutely no empathy for my situation even though it was simply a mistake that was made in the scheduling of the drop off point up front. So I hung up the phone, drove to the Powell Blvd location, and they were super helpful and accepted the trailer drop off.RICHARD B.

I had a terrible experience with U-haul. They threw a bunch of information at me and I didn't understand all the policies. Neither the online function of taking photos and checking the vehicle in the beginning or turning the vehicle in after hours through the app worked for me. Two rentals ago the truck broke down, i was left on the side of the road for 5 hours by mountain home headed to boise. This happened in the middle of the day. Also i had just put gas in the truck. 80 $worth but couldn't use it due to the break down. I had to pay for my own uber. Roadside would only tow me to the storage unit. Despite all that i have still rented from uhaul. I also left messages for the manager asking for some kind of compensation for that rental. I left the message with the counter person because everytime i called the manager was out doing something or left for the day. I have not received any response at all.STEVEN J.

I LOVE the staff at the Orchard location, they are so kind, accommodating and friendly. As a home stager I use Uhaul all the time and prefer this location. The Chinden location is horrible, the staff are rude, unaccomodating, never answer the phone, and are not friendly nor professional!! I know all locations are busy, but when I call the Orchard location they greet me with a Hi Shannon! and are so eager to help me. It makes my work day happy and less stressful. In my opinion, corporate needs to observe what is going on at the Chinden location. It is a mess and management is poor.shannon T.

Answer phones locally. This is really an inconvenience when you have a question that only the local office can answer! It disconnects the customer from their rental location and isn't a good experience. I can see answering Nationwide until a rental unit/vehicle is booked, but then after that, we should be allowed to connect directly with the local facility. This is especially true if someone moves from the local area. I really hope this is taken into consideration and implemented.RENA S.

I had to wait behind customers that needed extra assistance, for a lengthy time, to pick up my rental trailer, despite using the app, supplying all information ahead of time, and even pre-checking in. There should be a separate line for us. Then, when I dropped the trailer off, the app tried to get me to pay again for the rental, which I thought I'd paid for on the app already, and then had to swipe my CC again at the counter when picking up the trailer rental. This just could be a lot better!Robert H.

During the pick-up the workers were not very busy, yet not attentive at the same time. Dropped the trailer off, parked the truck and trailer, disconnected it, did a walk around and then went in to tell them I returned it. Waited in line for several minutes only to be told that I needed to wait back outside since someone would come help me. Then waited another several minutes for an associate who took his time and showed no sense of urgency.BRIAN L.
When the truck is scheduled weeks in advance, and pre paid, it should be waiting for the customer to drive away. Instead, I had to back it out of a row of trucks and wait for an employee to put the Dooley and furniture mats in the truck. They were not busy. I was the only one there. I reserved space for my daughter's move out from college several weeks in advance of the time needed. When I arrived I was told that the space was no longer available and that they had tried to contact me, but there was no contact information on my record. I know that Uhaul has my email since I have received confirmation. They proceeded to offer me a larger unit for more money -- one for 3x as much! Additionally, the room they finally found for me was in an older building with no elevator on the 2nd floor. No thank you! Clearly there is a breakdown in the communication between Uhaul and it's franchises. Why was my contact information not shared? If it had been, I could have more easily found another spot. Since my daughter was one of the last to move out, finding another space was a scramble. The staff, while friendly were not able to assist in resolving the problem, which could have been easily resolved by offering me a short-term lease on larger space at same cost.Kimberly J. | Premières impressions

Charged me 3 times on move in when 1st month was supposed to be free! Took forever to credit my account. Mistake by employee was only credited twice! Had to dispute with bank. Continued renting with them for over 2 years. Never heard of any issue. Made me pay for the employees mistake that was disputed by bank at move out. Terrible company. We had problems with our truck, the windshield wipers didn't work, and the gear shift was off. Also, it took 4 1/2 hours between three of us trying to reach U Haul by phone, when we were on the 890-mile drive. U Haul compensated by giving us one more free rent on one of the storage units, and gave us 120 $coupon to put towards the other one. For a 4*4*10 the suggestion of it wasn't the best for a studio or a two bedroom as furniture would barely fit even if your bedroom breaks down. Since my storage is down in the basement it was hard to move the furniture with no cars or elevators.
