Trying to return my equipment was harder than it should have been. Two young men in the lot ignored me when I pulled up and attempted to initiate contact. Not even an acknowledgment. Went inside, young lady inside was less than friendly and when I told her I needed to make a return, she told me I needed to go back outside and tell the attendants outside. I ended up having to unload the equipment and just leave it, hoping it was properly checked in, and still got no help from the young men outside. Not even an “eff off”, which I would have preferred because at least I'd have been acknowledged. I won't stop using U-Haul, but I probably won't go back to this location.

Flexibility with drop off time charges. Rented for 3 hours originally, but the furniture drop off couldn't get me in until the afternoon so I was charged for another full day for being a few hours late. Next time I'll overshoot my rentals time. If I had requested 6 hours originally would've been same price.

Steering was loose which made freeway driving tense. It was harder to keep it in a travel lane. Thank goodness I was only going less than 40 miles. Vehicle had over 175 000 miles on it and it shows.

provide the customer with all the relevant information when they rent the equipment. I took a picture of where the gas gauge was when I rented a pickup truck. I was not informed that I should expect a text message with a link if the gauge was not at 3/4 full. I returned the truck with the gas at the same mark and the person who checked it in said it was fine. I was not provided a receipt at this time. One was e-mailed to me that day. Imagine my surprise when I was charged 17 for 2 gallons of gas. I took a picture of where it was when I returned it. I called the office the next day and was told that I should have sent this discrepancy to the link on the text that I received. I told her I had not received a text but I had pictures. I would have to come back to the rental office because she couldn't do anything over the phone. {I.e. I could have e-mailed the photos but no I had to go down there] Your manager, after seeing the photos, tried to explain that the computer on the truck couldn't differentiate that minor amount. Now that seems weird, it can differentiate that minor amount enough to charge for 2 gallons of gas. My personal opinion, the person who rented the truck before me was charged for being under the 3/4 mark and they tried to charge me also.

I was told I'd have free 30 day storage and when I got to Boise there was no storage, so I had to pay drive with all my possessions to a local storage facility pay extra money and then drive all the way back and return the U-Haul

Both the gentleman who was working at the first location we tried and the young lady who helped us when we picked up the truck went above and beyond in customer service to help us in a very stressful situation! Thank you for the great customer service! It made an unexpected situation end up well. Keep up the great work! We would definitely recommend this location and the location that helped us make the reservation.

When I originally booked the truck I selected to have it for 4 hours. After I picked it up it said to return after 3,5 hours and then I got a text a couple hours later saying it was due after 3 hours. I even got a phone call asking where the truck was shortly after the 3 hours. When I turned the key in I asked what the issue was since I had booked for a full 4 hours and was told it had been double booked. Seemed like they were desperate to have the truck back before I had actually finished my allotted time with it and that made it more stressful of a move than it needed to be.

Pick up of truck was promised, which was 10 am,day of rental received call truck not available and none could be found locally. Same for the tow equip which to was promised. Personnel blunted said a truck might be available at 1. Told caller this was unacceptable and that packer's were prepaid. I was basically told “too bad”, told me “so sorry”. After hanging up I complained to brother who became very irate. He returned call and “suddenly” a truck the same size and tow was available….10:00, at a nearby UHaul Rental!! I was very upset the way I, a woman, was easily rejected and bluntly told “too bad…sorry” when evidently my order was reassigned to another. Very, very poor service.

I rented a storage unit in Boise anticipating I would be driving a UHaul from Alaska to Boise. Things changed and kept changing. Van helped me both times I called and was incredibly patient, kind and helpful. It so nice to find great customer service. I'm shipping my belongings in UBoxes later this month to Boise. Got it all worked by out Thank You

The trailer I rented had a serious dent in the wheel well on driver side that could've been easily hammered out. Just cosmetic though. It was functional. The main issue I'd like to see fixed, is that both myself and the office staff were unable to set my rental return for 9 days. The system only allowed a week rental. So at the 7-day point, my rental showed up as expired and caused the office staff unecesssary confusion and time to try and unsuccessfully reach me to find out where the trailer was. I was out of cell service, but I stood right in front of the staff the day I took the trailer and told them I would be returning it 9 days later. I'm sure if my rental showed 7-days, that potentially inconvenienced someone else who was planning for it to be there. As I understand this bug is purely a systematic website/program bug that prevents a longer return date to be selected. I also could not show my wife as an additional driver on the website. The feature was disabled. Yet, that was always our plan. So. the UHaul people were great! The website and booking process SUCKS. I did however appreciate the online, after-hours, return process. That at least seemed somewhat present-day functional.

I had a confirmed reservation at 7:00AM on Sunday with help lined up. I checked in using the online tool and was notified I had to wait until they opened at 9:00. This was not user error - a has a confirmation mail for 7:00 with instructions on how to get the vehicle outside of business hours. After calling the National support number and waiting on hold for some time they were able to transfer my reservation to a different truck that was available. Still delayed an hour. The truck itself was fine. Unacceptable service experience from the local retailer.

The truck windshield was so dirty with bugs crap I had to ask them to clean it before I left. While she was cleaning the window she noticed overspray or something stuck to window and she didn't know how to get it off or what it was stuck to it , she said that's the best she can do and sent me on my way thinking she took care of it. When to auto parts and bought a razor blade to scrap the window and bought windows spray cleaner to get it cleaned. I understand they are not to wash the vehicle but I think that a windshield side windows and mirrors are essential and driving on the road that that is something that they should take care of on every vehicle that comes in.

Check engine light was on and the guy said oh don't worry about it. I dropped the unit off with the same amount of fuel it had in it but they still charged me over 50 dollars extra.

The worst experience of my life. The yard help didn't know how to look up the trailer and got it jammed on my hitch. While they were looking for a sledge hammer, I got it loose. They then said I had to use a different trailer which had a bad light. They told me take it or leave it. When I hesitated, they came out and disconnected it, told me they cancelled the reservation, please leave. Then they e-listed me! I called and got a reservation at another location. When I arrived, they told me they had no trailers. After hours on the phone, I got a reservation at the location that said they had no trailers. After being hooked up, I mentioned what happened to the GM. His response was "I wasn't here". I said that as the GM I would think that he would be concerned about a bad customer experience, his response was "I wasn't here". He clearly doesn't care. Since the trailer was hooked up, they couldn't take it back. I got the job done and am unlikely to ever use U-Haul again especially after this and what happened on two prior rentals in the prior month.

I won't be moving in to the unit until the 17th of january. When I was renting my truck the online process said that I can move into the unit on the 17th of january. After filling out the paperwork however it said I had to move in on the day I completed the paperwork aka the 5th of January. Why would it start me renting a unit on the 5th when I asked for the 17th? Essentially I'm paying for days that I'm not using. Extremely displeased.

I really appreciated having this extra space for a couple years and felt good about having my possessions secure in your facility. I just moved and trying to save some money by bringing that stuff home and getting rid of some stuff, but I'd definitely use your facility in the future or recommend it to others who need climate-controlled storage solutions.

I rented a storage locker from the orchard street location in boise for a year and a half. They were always helpful and curteous, gave great customer service. When my payments got behind they worked with me to get a satisfactory agreement to close out my unit and get my belongings so i didnt lose them to auction. Would definately use again.

I will be moving things in tomorrow, but expect the same quality and service I have known for many years primarily in Dallas, Fort Worth, Denver, Memphis, Tulsa and other cities for long-term projects. Many of my items will be coming from a competitor where they were the only option for the past few months. Climate Controlled Storage has been slow in coming to Boise.

The only issue I had was: one of my units Would not report being closed and locked when I was finished with it. I said I could not log out. When I reported this to the office they said everything was fine. And it would be fixed (twice). The real issue was that when I came back log in and removed the lock from my unit an ear piercing alarm would sound for about 3 minutes. Just grew to expect it

We have no complaints about the location or the manager on duty. He was very helpful and kind. My dissatisfaction is purely with U-Haul as a company. We reserved (over the phone and with a credit card) a 10x10x10 interior unit over a month in advance of when we would need it. A day before we were to move in, a U-Haul representative called to confirm our reservation. A couple of days later when I logged into my U-Haul account to view my reservation and figure out how to access it, I noticed I had no current reservations. I could see a "past order" with the confirmation number that tied to what I thought was my existing reservation. I called the service line and waited on hold for 45 minutes. When I finally spoke with an agent, she told me that there was no record of my reservation, not even my email or my name, in the system. I was baffled. She spent another 30 minutes trying to figure out why we weren't in the system. Finally, I decided to print off all of the email confirmations that I had that would indicate we had indeed reserved a storage unit at this facility and take them to the storage location. When we arrived, the manager who was working promptly recognized the issue and let us know that there was not a 10x10x10 unit available and the best he could do was a 5x10x10. Essentially, he confirmed for us that the reservation means nothing and the units are first come first served. I would have never relied on this as a storage solution had I known we were not guaranteed the unit we reserved with our credit card. We found this to be completely unacceptable and believe U-Haul should make it much clearer to potential renters that the unit they have reserved may or may not be available to them when they need it. Again, my complaint is not with this Orchard St facility, just the company's rental policies.

Location is excellent and the parking was easy to manuver with a large truck and car in tow. plenty of room to back and load/unload and the carts to carry items to and from are very helpful. The people that work there, especially Shane, knowledgeable and very helpful. However, every single associate I had to deal with was GREAT!

I cannot say enough about the staff here. They have been so helpful ... I had been through some tough times during the COVID epidemic . The staff here worked with me , it was clear to me that they did not want me to lose all my belongings I already lost so much this is not a sob story Just life. I reserved space for my daughter's move out from college several weeks in advance of the time needed. When I arrived I was told that the space was no longer available and that they had tried to contact me, but there was no contact information on my record. I know that Uhaul has my email since I have received confirmation. They proceeded to offer me a larger unit for more money -- one for 3x as much! Additionally, the room they finally found for me was in an older building with no elevator on the 2nd floor. No thank you! Clearly there is a breakdown in the communication between Uhaul and it's franchises. Why was my contact information not shared? If it had been, I could have more easily found another spot. Since my daughter was one of the last to move out, finding another space was a scramble. The staff, while friendly were not able to assist in resolving the problem, which could have been easily resolved by offering me a short-term lease on larger space at same cost.

Every Uhaul employee I encountered was very helpful. The indoor storage facility was immaculately clean and I felt very safe while using it (which has not always been the case with storage i've used).

There was only one minor issue and that was that the unit itself was pitch black. Since it was part of your own grading criteria I feel the need to mention it. The only way to see anything in the unit was with a flashlight.

Charged me 3 times on move in when 1st month was supposed to be free! Took forever to credit my account. Mistake by employee was only credited twice! Had to dispute with bank. Continued renting with them for over 2 years. Never heard of any issue. Made me pay for the employees mistake that was disputed by bank at move out. Terrible company. No one was helpful in remedying this. Corporate blamed on Boise, Boise blamed on Corporate. No accountability!

We had problems with our truck, the windshield wipers didn't work, and the gear shift was off. Also, it took 4 1/2 hours between three of us trying to reach U Haul by phone, when we were on the 890-mile drive. U Haul compensated by giving us one more free rent on one of the storage units, and gave us $120 coupon to put towards the other one. The staff at the office were great and very helpful!

For a 4*4*10 the suggestion of it wasn't the best for a studio or a two bedroom as furniture would barely fit even if your bedroom breaks down. Since my storage is down in the basement it was hard to move the furniture with no cars or elevators. Overall, the staff is really nice but the storage itself does its job it just didn't have a stable ground which made it had to store my boxes.

You guys would've gotten five stars if I would've actually been honestly informed of the fact that the access hours absolutely suck... Prior to my signing of the agreement, I asked if it was 24 hour access, and he said yes... then, upon showing me the unit, answering my question again, he said " Oh, not these ones. These are accessible during our open business hours." This is an outrageously enormous inconvenience for me. This was the only day I could move my belongings to storage. Due to working a full day shift, 7:00am to 7:00pm gives me about 20 minutes to do any moving... I have to be out by Saturday at Noon, and I just have to consider my stuff as a donation. I'm really disappointed in this specific business location. My family has used U-Haul for years, and they weren't ever lied to or manipulated like this... Why me?

I felt like I was strong armed into getting my unit 2 weeks early. With the "virus" going around I was told my online reservation may not be available when I needed it on 3/31/2020. The rep called me and had me check in 2 weeks early so I didnt loose the storage I reserved?....what's the point in the reservation then? This was completely unfair and infeel likening was robbed being forced to get the unit early so it wasn't "reserved" for someone else....complete bs

We reserved a unit but had to move up the move in date as our daughter is in college and is being sent home. This office not only accommodated us, but they called us back a few times to help us get registered over the phone so our daughter could start moving in. They really went above and beyond. Plus we get a free month of storage because of the virus. We deeply appreciate that.
