My only neg in this experience was online experience. I did all the pre work, but when I got to the facility none of it had registered and I had to redo everything

DARNELL SThere were 3 people that I seen there. Two were up front and one was in the back. I did a mobile pickup and asked the lady if she could give me the keys since the app said just show them. She looked on the wall where the keys were and then said I would have to wait in line. After I waited in line I spoke with a man who also looked on the wall and stated he couldn't find them. He was then going to put me in another 10' truck but couldn't find those keys either. He went and spoke to the 3rd person who was in the back of the store and they both proceeded to go back outside. The 3rd person came back in without the guy who was initially helping me, went to the wall with the keys and picked out the keys to my original truck. The key was literally the first pair in the middle of the wall. I waited almost 30 mins when I did an online pickup all because 2 people overlooked a key that was dead in their face.

BRYAN YTruck worked to execute the move. Yet it's a gas guzzler and it was difficult to change speed. Ran 50 if that. Required better engine and speed per milage on expressway.

Rough riding, noisy, manual windows and locks, no usb outlet. Left lower rear view window needs to be repaired or replaced - a safety issue. Good tires, ran good, except doesn't shift easily from 2nd to 3rd in tow mode. Would be nice to have a backup camera. Heater worked well.

PETER LThe customer service lady was not great. 1) The fuel gauge reading was slightly below 1/4 and when I asked about it she had a snarky attitude. 1/4 is already very low for any customer, and the fact that it was slightly below warranted a question. 2) The vehicle was not well maintained. The wheel alignment is clearly not good since the steering wheel being centered makes the vehicle drift so something is wrong with the steering/axle. There were plenty of trucks so she should have not given me one that clearly needs to go to the shop. The truck was also not 20 feet which I reserved but she did not even bother to ask me if it's ok I've rented no less than 5 times from this location and this was the worst experience.

PATRICIA LU haul app was horrible to use to turn in the key for vehicle. It was a mailbox w green sticker instead of black. It didn't even say where the mailbox was at the building. Did not say specifically where to park vehicle. It needs to have a pop up saying that you need to get gas for vehicle or not before you turn it back in before you turn it in. Chat feature is glitchy. Took several minutes for replies and to get a hold of someone.

ROBERT OThis was the WORST experience with a uhaul rental. We've been moving my mother in law's house since February and our own home too so we've made several rentals throughout the year. We've always made a reservation online and picked up no problems. The associate that helped us seemed like she needs more training. Was confused on what truck we rented. Kept trying to give us a smaller one. I even saw another customer wait for 30 mins to be checked out for moving supplies. We waited for over an hour to finally get the correct truck. We were told that the carrier was not available yet that we would have to pick up later. When we questioned why wasn't it ready we were then told a different story that the reservation was made that way. The reservation was made online and there is no option to reserve that way. Going back and forth is additional milage so why would we drive all the way home and then back to pick up the transport amd then back home?! That's illogical. However, since we aren't employed there and the carrier wasn't being released we just left with the truck and came back to pick up at 6:30 which is when we were told it would be ready. We called to complain and was only given a $50 credit on a 2k reservation seems ridiculous. HORRIBLE customer service! I see why this facility has a 3 star rating. If I could give negative stars I would!

Jamie LI had my items in storage untouched for almost three years. I returned and the items were in the same condition/excellent just a little dusty. No rodents no rodents droppings no insects or bugs. This is one of the best storage locations in Chicago . The building is well maintained and well monitored.
Stephanie C | Expérience généraleThe person we first talked to set us up for two different moves to and from two different locations. Strike one. No one adequately tells you anything, so I had to constantly go back and wait in line to ask simple questions that should have been covered at stage where I was signing initial paperwork; this was especially unhelpful as I worked myself half to death trying to get the equipment back in time during a very painful move…only to find out that the deadline wasn't what I though it was simply because I could finalize a bunch of stuff after the store closed by myself, which was never told to me. Strike two. They said I had until 8 to get back before the store closed, at 7:50 the doors were locked and the lights off, and the people still inside the office ignored me as I frantically tried to figure out how to answer the questions they should have already answered, which included how payment worked and what the payment breakdown would be. Strike three. I got back that late because I spent over two hours waiting for elevators because they were being held open on various floors, which set off alarms and made it impossible to move my items…not one single time did anyone come and check on why huge blaring alarms were sounding in the building. Strike four. They say our floor (fifth) is climate controlled, but in one of my five or six times going and looking for carts left on other floors, I saw that other floors had air conditioning, and the fifth floor did not. (Nothing about any of this was ever explained to me.) I'm not an expert, but I do know that I went to another storage place to check on a unit the day before that was in a very similar condition to the unit we have, and they said specifically that it is *not* climate controlled, so I think we're paying extra for no reason. Strike five. There is a giant pole in the middle of my storage unit, so I'm paying for 10x10 but in reality it's more like 8,75x8.75, cheating me out of a foot of space. Strike six. I could go on, but how many strikes do I need before I say not a chance would I ever recommend this place? Thanks a lot.

RICO R | Expérience généraleAlthough my experience was great at this particular Uhaul location, as it was well maintained, clean and the staff was readily available to assist consumer concerns, the main elevator wasn't always available. It stopped on floors and remained closed, but continued. It also shock violently causing some concern that it would cease to continue and you would be stuck inside. Otherwise then that experience, I would recommend it to others.

I made the reservation online 3 weeks ago, yet was told my unit wasn't available. I was given a different unit of the same size that was more expensive, and it has a giant 36" column in it that takes up an entire portion of the unit. At the very least I should be paying the amount that my reservation was for.

I hired moving help and while the "system" was down and kept crashing and moving slow my movers were on the clock. I had to pay for another hour because time was wasted in the store alone. U-Haul got NO information correct. I was told one thing over the phone and upon arrival it was something else. I reserved a specific truck and then I was told it was given to someone else. I reserved a first floor unit and I was told it was rented out to someone else. This was a complete inconvenience to my moving process and I am NOT a happy customer. Never again!

I pressed the help button and got no response. 3 times! That was a traumatic experience and I am very disappointed.

My friend came in one day after me and rented a larger unit, had longer access hours, and was informed about the parking garage in the back and given an access card. That said, the almost two years I rented my unit were great.
