Uhaul needs to develop comprehensive customer service/care program. I have rented uhaul for all of my adult life... tho I probably wont ever rent uhaul again!
Reserved my Uhaul for 7am for my move for a one way trip from Chicago to mishawaka, Indiana. I was quoted $176. Got there at 7am for my mobile pick up and received a message from the website that I had to wait til 9am for the place to open so they could hand deliver the truck. This was after I had spoke with someone on the phone (From uhaul) assuring me that I could pick up the truck with no problem. I tried to book another truck at another u haul location, but that location didn't have anything available until 7:30pm. Finally, I got a hold of someone from customer service who was not very sympathetic and kept trying to give me trucks for afternoon times after I had told them that I had the elevator in my building reserved from 9am-1pm. Finally, I was able to get a truck (after driving all across the city). I was able to pick up the truck at 8am, but the woman who I picked the truck up from said that I had to bring the truck back to Chicago the next morning, that they did not allow one way trips. It was a two hour drive from my final location. Also, it was going to be more expensive too. Not only was I severely stressed inconvenienced by this whole experience (which is not good for me as I am currently pregnant), it cost me over $300 more for uhaul's mistake. I would like to be refunded for this experience. I have always used uhaul in the past and even used it for storage. I was very disappointed by this experience.
The man who runs the grocery store / U-Haul location is very friendly and helpful. However, he has a lot going on and is disorganized; drop off takes a long time. I was grateful that he allowed us to drop off the auto transport, go unload the truck and bring it back, and bring back the furniture dolly/last supplies etc. the next day. But when I brought the last supplies, he said he was "too busy" to check in my equipment, and promised to check it all in the next day. He checked in the truck but did NOT check in my auto transport. I had to spend 30 minutes on hold with U-Haul to connect with someone to call him and ask him to check it in; I still received a BILL for being a day late. I dropped my trailer off TWO DAYS EARLY, and U-Haul is now trying to charge me for staff negligence. The amount of time I've had to spend correcting U-Haul's errors is EXHAUSTING. I will NOT be using U-Haul again.
Nice, large facility that was clean, easy to find, and well staffed. Eddie was fantastic. I'd had an incredibly frustrating experience with each of the representatives I spoke to in the weeks leading up to my reservation (my pick-up location changed 3 times, and the day of my pick-up, the price on the truck increased by $600). When I got to this location and realized that, Eddie helped me get my original price back down and got me on my way quickly.

When it come to returning after the business has closed the process should be explained. I was so frustrated with trying to figure out how to return via the internet. ðŸ¤¦â€â™€ï¸
The reservation I completed online was lost so I had to register again at the location. They didn't have the vehicle I had requested at the location so I had to take a smaller vehicle. The staff weren't wearing masks. The truck I did get wasn't in good condition. When I attempted to return the vehicle the app kept crashing so I had to call and no answered.
I love how fast they get me on my way only when I make an online reservation first. Thank you.
It was really difficult to locate a truck and I was going back and forth to get things accommodated. Maybe communication between the locations would be helpful in the future to ensure that there is equipment available.
The back of my truck was not inspected on check out and I did not receive the promised discount for returning the truck with a clean bed.
I looked at my bill and it was more than what I was quoted and I brought in a day earlier than what I needed it for
When I was signing up for this location it said 24 hour drop off and pick up and that it was contactless. In all of my emails it said that I would need my phone and I would access my keys that way. When I got to the store and starting to do the process on my phone, it said I had to pick up my keys from inside the store. I had to wait almost 40 minutes for the guy to hand me the keys. I had already done all of the paperwork. If the store does not do contactless, that should be clearly stated. It set us back from our work that we had to get done almost an hour.
I rent from this location a couple times a month and the service is always good. Angel is exceptional.
The computer system was not working. I could not set up an account in advance. Also, the attendant did not wear a face mask and she couldn't get the computer to take my credit card.
Every Thing Was Grate
The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Best customer service I have received in a long time! Eddie went above and beyond to make the trailer work with our vehicle. Highly recommend!!
The receptionist woman on Monday 06/29 at 3pm was extremely rude. My company came to pickup a 6 by 10 box truck and she said there was no card on file, which we had entered at reservation. She refused to acknowledge only one of my coworkers and seemed visibly annoyed when we had any questions going through the normal rental process we have done many times before.
The representative who handed me my keys confirmed that I rented a dolly, but didn't hand me one so I assumed It was in the truck. I realized after driving to my destination there wasn't one so I had to drive all the way back. Therefore, I unnecessarily paid for miles that could have been avoided. A minor inconvenience it was, nonetheless a bit of a hassle.
My experience was easy & smooth. The lady at the counter provided me with easy instructions on my rental and my drop-off.

"Eddie" is one amazing man, and I would recommend his expertise and assistance to everyone! However, he is the only person there that knows anything about customer service, and he works his butt off! Angel Lyles, is possibly the laziest individual ever. It was an effort for her to reach for, and then return my license and credit card. Her nails seemed to be taking priority to anyone else's well being. Terrible employee.
