well the advertised cost was $19.95 for two hours. We walked out 2 hours later with a $58 dollar bill. It appears that the base $19.95 rental fee is a lure. We will take our business elsewhere the next time. The rental people were efficient and professional. You should be paying them a fair wage, the guy cleaning the returning trucks was through and energetic. We have no complaint about the service, just all of the "tucked" in fees.

Equipment design and condition is superb. Checkout was slow due to sluggish computer. Representative was courteous and competent. Woman that gave pricing on previous visit. gave me the impression she was being bothered. She needs an attitude adjustment.

The process in place for u-box rental is very confusing to start, and the process really doesn't smooth out until you've made 4-5 calls to u-haul to iron out all the details. It is difficult to get correct pricing and the window of 9-4 for delivery of the boxes makes scheduling any kind of moving help very difficult. The recommendations for number of boxes is also a little misleading, we ended up having to also rent the biggest U-Haul tow behind trailer in addition to our u-boxes. Not a huge deal but your bigger items take up most of the bottom of a u-box and you have to Tetris the rest. The moving blankets while nice are absolutely dirty, so I'd recommend covering literally all your stuff in plastic first. Utilize the plastic covering for couches, beds, etc. Now that I am finished with all the negatives, this is a cost efficient way to move when you need to store your things in between moves.

Everything went great on the Michigan side...not so on Arizona end. Originally we were lead to believe we would be able to have pods delivered to house in Arizona, not so. We were told pods were to leave Michigan on September 17 but didn't arrive until the 29th, then we had to scramble to make arrangements to pick up ourselves. We picked up and returned on October 2nd, but were charged for another month on THAT day. If that's the way you do business...by charging for a whole mother month when we brought back pods on the day our new month started....will never! Use you again.

U Haul needs to have more communication b etween drivers and office. Our pods arrived in Florida early, and we were trying to get them early, but the office said no one would be in our area until the scheduled day. The driver said that she was in the area two days prior to our scheduled date, and could have brought them. As far as the Michigan pickup, they were one day late picking them up, and gave us some lame excuse. Then we found out from the driver that picked them up that the other driver didn't want to pick them up on the scheduled date because it was too late in the day. Overall, I felt that U Haul did not want to help us at all.

I planned ahead and got a quote ahead of time. Even though I submitted my credit card to reserve it, the order was not confirmed. Ended up having to make another reservation that was $350 more. Not happy about this and received mixed instructions on who/when to call back to confirm delivery. Why?!

Rented 2 U-Boxes for a move from Michigan to North Carolina. Our experience did not start off well as the empty boxes were dropped off late, and one of them was so old and falling apart that we had to call to have it replaced. The new one they brought wasn't clean and obviously not inspected prior. On top of that, it was a struggle just to get ahold of someone during business hours to talk about that. Boxes were 5 days late getting to North Carolina with no update on that coming until one day after the “guaranteed date”. When I called to see where they were, I was told they didn't know. Only positive thing about our experience is that our items didn't not break in transit. I don't recommend these U-boxes.

I was told I could go a few miles over without penalty when I picked up the 26 foot truck. I returned it about 9 miles over but with more gas than I picked it up with and got charged for every mile and tenth of a mile I was over. Don't say one thing then do another........

I was offered a job with federal government, however, I had to relocate to another state to accept the position. This is what brought me to Uhaul. Initially, everyone appeared to be nice and helpful. Unfortunately, after a small mishap on my part, resulting in damage (for which I paid for in full), the manager became very unprofessional and condescending. Additionally, after moving my items out of the free storage, I had to call several times (with no return call) in order to close out the unit. Thankfully, I won’t have a need for Uhaul services any time soon. However, after my experience at this location, I will forego using Uhaul in the future and go with Penske or another moving company.

Upon arrival at the Grandville Ave U-haul location, we found out that our reservation was never made and they were out of that storage for a month. The staff was very helpful at the Grandville ave location and quickly got us set up at the Byron Center location. The staff at Byron Center was location was extremely helpful and helped us immediately.

Sonya Will was great! She explained everything as we proceeded, focusing on my needs - recommended the correct equipment while explaining the different options (including the cost for each). When I returned the equipment, surprisingly she remembered my name and thanked me for the opportunity to provide her friendly service. Earlier I had received RUDE behavior from the MAN at Alpine Uhaul.. Actually I was hoping for another company choice, not available! Man had no name tag. Sonya presented a positive atmosphere of the UHAUL brand.!!! Because of her effective, courteous matter - she restored a trust in uhaul business. Sorry about the delayed response, but I had no good access to the internet while moving. On the other hand, my experience with Sonya was positive, pleasant and memorable,.

My link to finish out the process of returning the truck kept saying that it was expired. I got charged for 2 days when I still returned the truck before 11:45PM, and when I called to resolve the issue....I was on hold for over 30 minutes and then hung up on!

Had very long wait time. due to alot of "WIFI" ISSUES. and wifi dropping out on pick up and drop off. I'm pretty sure the exhaust manifolds were not existing on the truck. I had noticed there was a large gap on the grandmothers attic to the floor. the gap did not effect my moving of my items just informed them of the issues for the repairs to be done.

My issue is with the overall logistics of the drop off/pick up of the U-Box. First, I was told that I would need to be at my house to receive the U-box, but the company would not quote me a specific time or reasonable time window to receive the box (they told me the box could arrive any time between 8 and 5 on a Saturday, even after I told them I was moving that day and needed to know the specific time I should be at the house as I was driving in from out of state). Once I arrived at my house, the box was already there, meaning I didn't actually have to be at the house to receive the box. No one notified me that the box had been delivered even though the company told me the driver would call me when she was on her way. Pick up was also disappointing. The company told me the U-box would be picked up the following Tuesday after delivery (was delivered on a Saturday). Every time I called to be updated on pickup, I was disconnected. The website said my U-box was under my account until September 3, so I tried to check out of the U-box online, but it was pending manager approval. I was then charged on September 3 for rental, so at that point I contacted the live chat, and the U-box was picked up the next day. I can't understand why the pickup or drop-off were not arranged as I was told they would be, and the unreliability of the experience makes me skeptical to recommend U-boxes to friends or use a U-box again.

Facility and truck was clean. Price was fair. Truck steering system was bad/worn out and vehicle shook badly starting at 55 mph. Manager said they are all that way and so they are only used locally. I was surprised and dissappointed to hear that. It doesn't take much to replace tie rod ends and/or steering gear or king pin bearings. Basic steering system maintenance is needed on them and my experience would have been much better. This maintenance would be a good expense to keep these trucks on the road a long time, especially since the engine ran well and everything else performed well (brakes etc.). I will try Ryder or other company next time.

The 26' Truck was brand new but was very dirty. I spent 2 hours to clean up the cockpit, windshield, mirrors and seats stained with coffee and other fluids... Even if the Staff was very friendly, they have no idea about technical questions and they didn't explain me too much about the Truck and trailer. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I traveled with this Truck for 1,300 miles.

Only drawback was how much of a hassle it was to get people to help me unload my pod. Itd be fantastic if uhaul set you up with moving help insteas of having to do it all yourself in a 3rd party situation. I had one moving company no call no show on me and had to take off work in order to get my pod delivered by a 2nd company. Uhaul should provide accountability for 3rd party movers through themselves instead of putting the duty on the customer to find their own delivery and moving help
