i had made reservations for friday the 5th 1 hr before i was to arrive i recieved a phone call from the rental location on washington st in watertown , that i no longer had reservation and so i told the phone rep to find me one and he found me one in syracuse ny which is over 80 miles away then i had to drive it 140 mile to return it where i would had thought i would had had the opeetunity to either drive it back or pay extra the pay extra option wasnt available so around 300 dollars in gas and being totally exhausted from the first trip making for a very very long day will i ever use Uhaul again im not thinking so ...

Pick up went smoothly. The only complaint was that the trick didn't have a full tank of gas to start. I know that they charge you for dropping off without a full tank of gas and charge an exorbitant rate because they are going to have to fill it up bit they obviously just pocket that money.

Truck was at 3/4 tank. Returned as such. Told bt associates had to be a full. Daily rental was reported back as "late" by rental agent when returned 3 hours early. Truck was well used. Numerous dings and dents. Cab was partially clean. Cigar ash, spillage on floor. Did the contactless rental.

Not necessarily location's fault that the truck was delayed, but knew that my truck would be delayed prior to my reservation. I wound up having to wait nearly 10 hours to get my rental and had to waste extra time off.

I had reserved a truck and auto transport at one location and they moved it to a different location. I called new location to verify it was good to go and the equipment was actually available and the assured it was. So I get there and nothing . The auto transport was never returned by the previous renter and when I called to verify was after I was suppose to be returned. I ended up having to use the car dolly which required me to have to put more miles on the truck to avoid construction areas. I also picked the truck up with a half of a tank . I went 52 miles in total. I stopped at Byrne dairy next to the uhual place and out $10 in the truck and brought it back to half. When I returned the truck after hours I was charged for fuel. Definitely disorganized and sloppy. My reservation was for 5:30 I didn't get out of there until 6:15. The guy working didn't even suggest the dolley after they didn't have my auto transport. I ended up walking your lot and see the dolley and asked if I could use that instead. Horrible customer service and did nothing to try and fix the problem.

This is mostly for the Canal St. location that I selected for pick up. I purchased moving materials and the worker on the phone said that I could pick it up at the new location for pick-up. But when I got to the Thompson Rd. location, the worker said that I had to pick it up at the other location since I paid for it. I wish it was more clear from the beginning.

On June 6th I reserved a cargo van online for a one way trip. When I called 2 weeks before to talk to them about the rental, I was informed that this was not possible and it was a glitch in the system. I was told the 10ft box truck and above were the only ones that could go one way. I was t happy but agreed to take the 10 ft, only to be told that there were no more available in the area that I needed to pick it up in. I was given the run around on the phone and told I would have to wait until 2 days before to see if I can get one. Even though my original order date was 6/6/22. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were on vacation. On the day before I needed the truck I was again called and told there was no 10 ft truck for me because they were already rented. Probably many weee rented after the date I originally rented mine. I was again reminded that even though I had a reservation, it doesn't mean I would get a truck! What kind of business is run like that! How do you make a reservation to move someone only to get gold that your reservation isn't really a reservation ! Finally, after much unhappy conversations with the staff, I was told there was one in the system but they couldn't give it to me because it was needed 2 hrs before my required drop off time. I told the staff that I didn't need the truck for 3 days and it would be at the drop off station a day early so that would not be a problem. I finally had to ask for a supervisor. Explained everything over for the 4th time and finally she reserved the truck for me. I also rented a hand truck since I was moving an apt.and had flown in and didn't have one of my own. When I get to the truck rental place. I'm told they have no more hand trucks and basically too bad! We had to ask the clerk to call other places and we then had to travel 10 miles out of our way to pick one up. The worst customer service ever!!!! At Syracuse and making the reservation . I don't know if it is a central station that all reservations go through, but they are horrible.

My complaint is not with the physical location, but rather, with Uhaul's reservation system. I reserved a 20' truck for this job around a week in advance, got a call from someone at Uhaul to confirm that my reservation was good to go 2-3 days before, only to find out the day before my move that the truck wasn't available anymore. How can this happen. Uhaul should move away from having their customers submit requests for reservations, and just plain keep track of which trucks are available and which aren't. Don't allow me to reserve the truck if it's not going to be available. Full stop.

Truck broke down. Long wait for assistance. Tow truck driver advised us to call UHaul for a ride back to the UHaul location, where we had left our car. Hung up the call after 15+ minute wait. Ended up getting ourselves a ride back.

I've used this location in the past because it's the closest to me. The people are kind and helpful but the equipment without fail is beat up and in poor condition. This truck had a bad door seal so it had tremendously loud wind noise on the highway. Even worse the truck reeked of cigarette smoke. I will not be using this location again due to the condition of the equipment there.

I wasn't informed of the pickup location changing from the Erie Blvd address to the Thompson rd address until I walked into the Erie blvd location. I had to have my father drive back and pick me up and take me to the thompson rd location. It was an inconvenience. I did not receive an email telling me of this change until 24 hours after my scheduled pickup.

Explain exactly how to drop of the truck and what to expect. I was unaware of having to take pictures so late at night of the truck after moving all day. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience.

The associate that checked me in was rude. She acted as if she didn't have the correct sized vehicle until I asked if there was a reservation for it and then said they had it. When I brought my vehicle to drop off I went to the door to check and see if I could check it in. There was a man on his phone that didn't look up when I came in. I look for someone else then asked him. He said to look for someone else. I told him there was noone around. I got up and checked me out. 2 minutes after check out, I got a call from UHaul asking if I had the key. I told them I check it out with a guy in the bay. Not a great experience, esecially after the issues with calling in.

Apparently the uhaul employee who hooked up the trailer to my car made a mistake: the uhaul employee who removed the trailer from my car in Connecticut told me that the other person should have attached the safety chains so that they are crossed under the hitch. They were not crossed.

The facility seems very well maintained and secured, the guy there was very nice and as helpful as he could be being the only guy on. Could tell he was a little overwhelmed but he did an excellent job maintaining professionalism and getting the job done. Could have used a little more guidance on how things work moving forward such as how payment works but it's nothing that we can't call on to find out. Working in retail I try to be more considerate and aware of situations as there are people who are rude and expect "fast food" type service everywhere they go and don't realize things take time and there were a few people like that in the time frame we were there and the employee managed it very well. Overall was a smooth experience.

Dropped off the truck the SAME day it was rented, a Uhaul representative met my husband at the door and asked if he would be ok with an emailed receipt? My husband said sure. I get en emailed receipt 2 days later stating that we were charged for an EXTRA day and the insurance charge. Had to call to get MY refund. Just curious as to how many other people were met at the door and do not check their records? Not impressed at all.

Scheduled pick-up was 9:30 pm could not get until 12:15 pm was left on hold for an hour and then the music stopped and no one came on, Started a Chat and they dropped us, asked for a call back they called back and then hung up, 2nd request for a call back and they called back in 45 mins. Every time we were transferred to truck services and every time it stated 50-60 min wait I would like a refund on some of this bill since it was so bad!! We need a truck a few more times but will go elsewhere if no refund is provided.

Quick n easy. Friendly reception, assisted with last minute changes to a larger storage capacity. I love the fact that the storage units are inside n climate control, which by the way, is at an Xtra low cost fee, convient hours of entry, bathroom on site, Loading Carts w/wheels, for usage 1st Month free, appreciated the perk. Pricing was a bit lower than the average but very clean and efficient for my personal storage needs. Thank You U-Haul, Your the Best. Thompson Rd Location!

lol the storage facility was okay but the office staff that setup my rental for a truck and units were completely incompetent. I was told I would have a truck drop off and storage unit in Rome Ny. But when I went there they didn't have any units available. I had to drive another hour to find a unit. That was a huge headache and real pain. I strongly feel your office staff will straight up lie to make a sale. I will not recommend uhaul to anyone.

Besides the convenience of having a climate controlled storage unit, I think the other part I love is not having to unload in the rain. We have certainly had out share of rain this spring.

I had the best experience at the U-Haul on Thompson road especially with the staff after my move-in date and the manager James made it so comfortable and happy to help during my 5 months using their storage facility. I highly recommend storing your belongings at this location.

Computer system is very slow and not inefficient. The attendant had to keep starting over because it would restart on him. I was there for over an hour. It would also be helpful to be open for the office longer than 7pm. It was an inconvenience multiple times. We had 2 large storage units for about 2 years while our house was being built and everything was great.

I stopped in a few weeks ago to reserve a storage unit, and the process was simple. However, when I showed up yesterday there was no reservation to be found. The person helping me (I think her name was Stephanie) got me set up with a storage unit pretty quickly and got me one in a good location, so no harm done. Everything was quick and easy, the storage units are clean, and the carts for moving things are very convenient.

Between the facility and the customer service line, I was overall annoyed by the service. I just needed to cancel and get a refund on a storage unit I no longer needed. The first call center rep I spoke to sent a msg to the facility, the facility never reached back out to me. I called back, the next rep blind transferred me to another rep after being on the phone with me for 10 minutes, then the next rep blind transferred me as well. I went to the facility, the rep at the desk did not know how to cancel a storage unit reservation. I've never worked for Uhaul but I was able to walk him through the dashboard to cancel/refund. It took 20 minutes.

I don't recommend online at all if it wasn't for the guy behind the counter I would of had two useless storage units. If the guy behind the counter didn't catch that the computer gave me 2 5x5 and not a 5x10. Other than that just that other people that have storage there some are friendly but others will block the untire hallway and prevented me from getting to my unit causing me to have to find another way around the main hallway

James Johnson was friendly and efficient. I would rate this experience as a 10 out of 10. This is in complete contrast to my past experience with the facility on Canal street where the staff do not value the Customers time and are inefficient and not focused at all. ie they Stand around talking while the line forms out the door.

My storage was not as secure as I had hoped . My soon to be ex-husband seemed to be able to enter , take and or move things out of it, (nothing in my storage belongs to him ) and he did not have a key or permission from me to get into it.

I was very disappointed in the fact that I was required to pay for the complete month when we only were in the unit for 6 days of the month. I realize it probably is covered somewhere in the small print of the contract. But to me is a very dishonest business practice to charge for time not used. Many other providers would pro-rate the fee by amount of days used. I will strongly evaluate if I ever use U-Haul again.

I have no complaints about the staff. Both of my visits to the facility they have been helpful and professional. It also appears to me to be a well kept facility. My only complaint is that both times I have gone they seem to be having system issues causing everything to move very slowly, having to re-enter information because the system is not cooperating, etc. This lead to long wait times and I have to imagine your employees and other customers get frustrated. You really need to fix these system issues!
