VICTORIA B | Premières impressionsWhen I reserved the truck I asked about an appliance dolly. I was told it would be available so I reserved that as well. I needed this to complete my move and would have used a different location if an appliance dolly was not available. When I arrived to pick up the truck, I was told they had no appliance dollys. What is the point of a reservation? This screwed up all my plans for moving that day.
EDWARD HI only gave an average review because there is a severe lack of carts at this storage location. Every time we have been there in the last couple of months we have had to wait for people to finish with their carts so that we could use them. On Friday and Saturday there were 4 of us that needed carts to empty out our 3 storage lockers and trying to get 4 carts was a nightmare. The most efficient way to unload the lockers on the 2nd floor is to use 4 carts because that's how many will fit on the freight elevator. As large as this facility is there should be many more flat carts. There are actually too many mattress carts and not nearly enough flat carts. Some U-boat type carts like they use in grocery stores would actually be very helpful since most people are moving boxes and bins.
KEITH KMake sure all the lights are working on the truck so you can clean if it gets too dark, you can sweep off the back of the truck, but it don’t help if the truck is already dirty before you purchases it…
MELIEKIA MMy only complaint is this location was out of furniture dollies for rent. They did have them for purchase though, and actually the purchase price was quite reasonable.

Alexis D | Expérience généraleAt drop-off there was trash cans full. Inside I was barely greeted by a young man who barely talked to me. My milage was incorrect at pickup so the woman hand wrote on my receipt the correction and signed it. At drop-off they never gave me a receipt, didn't refund the difference. They basically took the key and said alright. The engine light was on and there was no windshield washer fluid in the truck. I cleaned out the truck and swept the back. I did my part. At drop-off, the young man never got out of his seat.

CHARLES YThe people were very nice when I went and got the U-Haul told me one thing and I bring it back today two hours early the women at pick up told me if I got it back before the 5pm that I estimated that I would get more money back I laid with cash while driving the vehicle the breaks were messed up and steering wheel seamed like it needed an alignment maybe because it would lean towards the left and steering wheel extremely loose which made turns hard and scary. When I dropped it off today I went inside very polite the young guy ask me what I needed I told him I was returning a truck he asked if I had an email I wanted my receipt to go to I said yes he said ok that's all I said no sir it's not I would like my deposit back please he got upset said well your just gonna have to wait he then told his co worker that they needed to go check the U-Haul and his co worker said I would never complain about being asked to do my job. So I said nothing sat in the chair while they both went out there they didn't realize that my brother and my three teenagers were in my car behind the U-Haul waiting for me because that's where I parked at they watch both men only come out look in back if it was cleaned I said I thought so because it didn't take them long he came back in rude because I left the U-Haul paper they gave me at pick up I apologized that I didn't see. He said ok well you owe us money I said for what I brought it back two hours early put more than the 1/4 tank of gas that I was only supposed to fill back up cleaned it did everything I was supposed to he said no we won't give you Money back for bringing it back early I said well the women yesterday told me to estimate a longer time just in case to cover me and if I bring it back before then that the cost would be adjusted he said absolutely not you'll still be charged for the whole day I then said well you guys need to train your employees better so that the right information is being told to the customers. He then said u owe us money I said wait what why he smacked his lips said well the 20 miles you estimated you went way over I said no sir I did not I literally went from U-Haul place In Monaca to my house in Monaca and to the other house in Aliquippa the gas station right beside the U-Haul place and to U-Haul which is in same parking lot pretty much he swore I was lying made me pay out my pocket for the extra gas and got nothing back in return I told him I will never come back to any U-Haul business again I'll deal with budget rentals I have gotten a U-Haul over 5 times in the past two years and never had an issue like this before im just not sure what he was gaining from treating me like that rude after a long two days of moving and and exhausted just wanting to get back home and feed my kids but I didn't get my deposit back so I had to go borrow money just to feed my children because everything I had was put on moving and U-Haul if I knew that is what was gonna happen I would have never gotten anything from U-Haul from the beginning I hope that's not how he treats all the customers that come here

JOSEPH ZI rented a car trailer. I asked several times if this trailer would work for a 1971 MGB. and was assured it would. When we went to load the car we found that the wheel spread was too narrow and the tires would not fit on the ramps because they were spread too far. I had to make other arrangements to transport the car. When I came back to return the trailer I asked the salesman about it and he was very dismissive about the whole situation. He wasn't even interested enough to look into it. He said these things happen some times. Was probably the worst customer service I have experienced. He could have still denied me a refund but at least taken my complaint seriously. I would not recommend the use of uhaul monaca in the future.
DARRYL MNone of the blankets were folded in the trailer. As forth the drop off location, couldn't be found according to the clerk. Other than that a decent experience.

KATHRYN KPlease do not give your customers a truck that has a bad battery or they will have to call someone to come jump them because I was not waiting for more than likely an hour or more for U-Haul roadside assistance just to come and jump the vehicle. I wish to be compensated for this inconvenience because if I did not have anyone I would have been stranded in 15 degree weather with no heat. And it made for a major inconvenience for my family. Merci

Ryan SWe love Uhaul at Beaver Valley Mall. My son and I have used their services for 2 big moves in 2024, and have never been disappointed. The staff is wonderful, and the trucks we rented were perfect for our needs. We also rent storage from the Beaver Valley location, the facility is well maintained, climate controlled, and secure. We never have to worry about our stored belongings. Thanks Beaver Valley Mall Uhaul!
NOAH SThe child that I returned the rental truck to barley acknowledged me when I was there. I also closed my rental unit at the same.time since inrented the truck to get mybstuff out of storage at that location. I closed my unit on the 7th and was charged for another month on the 8th. Nobody answers the phone at the store. I even called the managers office directly for 2 days but he never answered the phone. Overall terrible experience at this location.

The wind coming in from the doors was not only freezing cold but made it very difficult to even hear in the truck!!! The gas gauge monitor was completely broken. I was mislead on where the gas was suppose to be when I came back. I was told it was just below 3/4 of a tank. When I came back he said oh no, the tank was almost full. Then charged more another $24 for gas. There was no way another $24 could of fit in that tank. I told them when I came back and there was nothing but excuses!!! That was the worst u-haul I ever rented from. NEVER AGAIN AND WILL POST EVERYWHERE.
COLEEN DWhen I returned the truck, ask for a person to come look at the truck was told no need to do that . When walking out the manager passed me never said let's take a look at the truck later on my credit card was charged $371 for a two day rental at 20 miles when I picked up the truck the truck only had a quarter tank of gas and was told was I mad cause I had to work to put gas in the truck .
DOMINICK TI was locked out of a truck I had keys for. Had to wait to get it unlocked wasted to much time took time away from my moving inconvenience and I had to pay for it with wasted time very unhappy and unsatisfied.
JENIENE H | Premières impressionsHad my vehicle in to this branch to have a trailer hitch and wiring put on. After going through a very unprofessional scheduling and installation. When I pick my vehicle up different parts of my electrical components were not working. The branch manager and mechanic pretty much said I was a liar and refused to take responsibility. I have called corporate and upper management and still little has been done. At the moment my vehicle sits at a third-party mechanic and he is fixing the issues they caused .Thank goodness for Rep west insurance, they have been the only ones that have taken action. Nick the manger & Chris the Mechanic are obviously under qualified and I will never be doing business with the Monaca, PA Branch.

JOSHUA HDidn't see a real person at drop off because we dropped off early after hours. Drop off was still very confusing. We didn't have the app and we couldn't sign in, we were told the app was optional at pick up. Truck needs fixed. Stalled on us in the rain on the highway. Very dangerous. We got it started and made it home we will never trust one of your trucks again. No cruise control. Very bad ride. No unlimited mileage for for the price we made. We put extra gas in the truck. U haul sucks.

jennice hUsually don't leave reviews but the employee's who were working on the day of my reservation deserve some feedback. They were unfriendly and not customer service oriented. They didn't ask if I needed help as I was standing waiting to pick up the truck. There were no other customers and they just stood at the desk and ignored me. They have no personality and come across as rude and treat you like your an inconvenience.
RYAN PThe GM Nick was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of asking my niece or I if we needed help or had a reservation or anything. He sat at the computer with rbf. Not sure if he was having a bad day or what the case was, but he needs to work on his customer service skills or find another job. As long as he's there in a managerial position I can not rightfully recommend this particular location to a friend or family of mine.
JOSEPH CEmployees are less than welcoming and the trucks are old, hard to drive. The headlights are dim and dash lights needed finessed to turn on.
DEBORAH DThe truck I was given to drive 500 miles was in terrible condition, and would not have been able to make this long distance trip. I asked for a representative to pick the truck up from my house and drop off a properly working truck and they said my only option was to call road side assistance or being the truck back myself. I lost 3 hours of moving time just driving back and forth trying to get the truck situated, it would have been longer if I utilized road side assistance.

Tom DThis was a very painful moving experience unfortunately..I've never had any issues with U-Haul before. On Sunday, September 29, 2024, Nichole Parks (Reservation Manager) had called me to let me know that my confirmed pickup reservation in Chippewa was no longer available. I was relocated to Beaver Falls, extra 10 minutes away from me, not a huge deal. I had missed her call & called her back not even 2 minutes later. She had an attitude immediately, didn't "know who I am & what my business calling was about" as if she hasn't just left me a voicemail. She was quick with her responses, didn't seem like she wanted to answer any of my questions and was overall ignorant. Fast forward, I go to pick up my U-Haul & the app was saying the reservation wasn't valid (granted I was a little late which is my fault), I called the number & spoke to some nice representative & she explained the situation & reset the reservation so I could pick up the trailer. Still didn't work. Gave another call back, greeted by Nichole Parks once again, and she had an even worse attitude than the first time I spoke to her. Told me the owner never put the keys in the drop box, so I now have to drive to Monaca, which is 20 minutes away from where I was already at. Told me I needed to pay a "relocation fee", I asked "why would I pay you a fee if I've been moved locations three times at this point?" Got immediately nasty about it, "That's not what I said, I said I OWE YOU". Followed up with giving us a 15 foot at a 10 foot price. And gave us 20 miles for free. I wasted 4 miles to Beaver Falls & then another 14 miles just to pick up the truck. Plus another 11 miles just to get home. In my own vehicle. So that brings me to 30 miles of wasted gas because I kept being relocated. We were clocked at 38 miles, which is accurate, but were still charged $47.20. Even though we were supposed to have the first 30 miles for free, plus the additional 20 miles that Nichole added. I kindly ask to please be compensated in some way. Not only for the waste of time & waste of gas & overall headache when it comes to moving, but having to deal with an ignorant "manager" more than once, that believes the issue is "resolved". Otherwise, no other issues! Both pickup locations were super friendly & helpful!

I also don't during things in line especially loading your driver license on the internet . I prefer coming in and all that is added via your security system. You have modernize so there is less interaction with an actual person and it's okay if you are 25 years old but you totally disregarded the everyone isn't computer savy .All car rental agents come out and walk through the rental process.

The general manager was useless and never once responded to any of the messages that I sent to him or returned any of the phone calls I made trying to get ahold of him to fix my issues. I moved my storage needs to the next closest facility in Chippewa, Pa which offered a bigger unit for a much cheaper price who doesn't force me to buy insurance thru uhaul to cover my property and allowed me to cover use my home owners insurance. The staff in Chippewa is much more friendly and very helpful in fact they will go out of their way to make sure there aren't any issues and any time there is an issue the resolution for the issue is always quick and proper.

It was also not clearly communicated that we had to type in our code before and after leaving our storage units, but we caught on eventually. However, the facility was very convenient in the mall, and the price was not too bad.

No customer should have to deal with his attitude and as far as the reviews which I just recently read because I had to leave one. He is a hot topic on the minus side but still allowed to treat customers like dirt. Must be related to someone big.

Nicole D | Expérience généraleReserved an 8x10 storage unit at the Beaver Valley Mall location on 04/21/2024 to begin on 05/18/2024. When I arrived at the location at the start of my rental date, the associates did not know what I was talking about when I said I had a reservation and referred to reservations as a "glitch in the system" and that they "don't really reserve a unit". They offered me 2 5x10 units to be a total of 10x10 space, the 5x10 units were advertised in the store at $65/mo, and I received an email to start charging $125/mo after the first month with the rental truck promotion, which they also did not offer and asked when my most recent truck rental was and I let them know I currently was renting a U-haul truck. I originally reserved an 8x10 unit quoted at $95. When I moved my stuff in, I only utilized one 5x10 unit. When I went to cancel the second 5x10 unit, the manager Nick Cumpston said they were unable to cancel one unit because in the system it is reserved as one 10x10 unit. I let him know that this was not communicated to me when the two 5x10 units were offered since the original 8x10 unit I reserved was not available. I let Nick know that I was originally quoted $95/mo on the reservation I made 04/21/2024, and he said that "if it were up to me we wouldn't even do reservations because I think they are dumb". This has been an extremely poor experience. The lack of professionalism and organization does not make me feel confident in this facility to maintain my belongings. I have been a customer at U-Haul before in Philadelphia, PA and have had great experiences there. Please let me know what we can do to address these issues. Thank you, Anne Macio

I wasn't made aware of this when booking and this wasn't what I paid for. It made it munch more difficult to move everything into 2 small units rather than the large one I reserved, I also had to purchase 2 locks as opposed to 1. When moving out of my unit last week, we notified the office that I was done with the unit and they said they would close it out. I then got a call a few days later saying they noticed my units were empty and asked if I moved out.

Also, the insurance on the unit is not worth the hassle I experienced when a few of my items were damaged due to mold. It's so much of a process and inconvenient. The fees are also high at Uhaul. Our unit was always paid up but I seemed to pay a late fee after 2 days of being late and then before 30 days a lien fee was applied. I'll def try another storage company before I come back to uhaul. One time a cat tree covered in pee was there for more than a week. If it wasn't for this area the facility would be great. You just need a trash bin outside otherwise people throw gross item there and I'm afraid it will attract bugs to nearby units.

The reviews give a very accurate experience. Any time we came to our unit the bathroom was always dirty and had no toilet paper. The floors were never swept. We came in a day before the unit was due for payment to move everything to my mother in law's because coming here every time and not seeing the place clean was troubling. We notified the staff that we would be out that night (the 9th) so they could start the move out process. The following morning I get an email that has a price for the next month. When I call to verify that we had been checked out of the unit Chris Disney had a massive attitude. Told me to just ignore the part where it said covered until 9/9/22. He then hung up on me. I have never met a more unprofessional staff at a uhaul location. 95 % of the time we went in to the office area no one would say hello, look up from their phones or attempt to make eye contact with us. If ever asked I would tell anyone to avoid this location at all costs.

We looked in and it was as big as a closet. The demo there on site there stated a studio or 1bdroom up to 1200sqft. Which is not even possible for how small it is. Uhaul should probably reevaluate the sizes so customers are not upset when they see it is much smaller than stated. Thank goodness for the staff member who help me and my husband fix this issue.

Gerren B | Premières impressionsWe rented 2 storage units. We were not charged rent until the end of the month for the first unit, but had to pay in advance for the second unit. When we started the second unit, the GM (Nick Cumpston) told us that he would take off the lock the same day because we were coming later to bring our possessions. The lock was not removed that day or for almost 2 weeks. We paid extra for the 24 hour access and there were several times that we were not able to enter the facility. We moved out of the first unit relatively easily. We moved out of the second unit on our due date. But because the website states that rent is past due on the due date, we were not able to complete the online move out. The following day we received an email saying that our rent was past due. We replied to that email stating the situation with the website. We received a reply from Nick Cumpston stating that he would take care of the move out process. For almost 2 weeks we were receiving phone calls, texts messages and emails about the delinquency of our bill. Then we received an email stating that there was going to be a lien enstated because of said delinquency. We called the office and had to explain the situation again before the unit was finally closed out. We will NOT use this facility again, nor recommend this to anyone.

Lastly, it's disgusting to me that with as big as the organization is and as much as members of the military move, a military discount is not offered. I personally own six different companies with locations across the US and strong ties to the military and I will ensure Uhaul is not utilized for any of our 450 team members, business associates or friends storage needs. Inexcusable operational deficiencies.

Lastly automatic payments were still charged to my card after I completed move out other than those things listed I give my overall experience an 8. More often than not it was unavailable and the personal elevator needed to be utilized to unlock the large elevator and the trip to your unit took longer than it should Of.
