Communication was at an all time low. I did what was instructed by employee in reference to payment type being changed which was to call customer sevice and change the card, sat on hold for and hour just for the person to tell me they couldnt do it. Then tried to contact store directly and was only given to customer service again. The whole experience was frustratingGail B.
The representative that checked us out didn't give correct information and was very relaxed with trying to help us navigate. I did an entire online check out and she said she didn't see it. Even though I paid prior. Even with the drop off location. When I called the number she provided they gave multiple locations. Completely understaffed on Sunday. It took over an hour to get my uhaul trailer because only one person was working. He was wonderful but it is unacceptable to only have one person accepting returns and helping every person to get their reservation ready.Xavier B.

the truck had over 100 000 miles and I had to press the gas peddle to the floor to go over a bridge. I reserved a smaller truck and was told it was already taken . I was a 1 hour late , you call the customer and ask are you coming do you still need truck ?, you do not simply cancel it and charge me more for a worse truck. horrible customer service will avoid you at all costsKEVIN S.

No one was to be found for 10 minutes after arriving at this location. Again, a man in plain clothes came behind the counter after wandering around so we weren't sure if he actually worked there or not. We asked if we could return the key and if there was anything else we needed to do and he said "What am I supposed to do about it." I've rented UHauls many times but have never had such a hard time from start to finish. None of the employees seemed to care they even worked there and honestly, couldn't say if they actually did or not based on the experience. I am also irritated we had to pay extra for the mileage considering we didn't have a choice where we were picking up.Richard K.

This is the worst store ever. Susan is nasty. She does not know how to do her job. There was a long line she said she would check me out and email me I was good to go. She called me back and told me I need to come back to get my credit put back on card. I asked if I could give info over the phone. She said no I had to come back. She got snippy and said she would mail a check. I said I was on my way. When I got there she was gone. They said they mailed a check. It only had been 10 mins really. Then Bill Hopson called cops saying we were trying to steal the trailer. We were no where near the trailer. We left cops pulled us over. This was not what I had in mind to spend my sat morning deal with thisDENISE F.
Air conditioner did not work and there was only 1 agent on duty with a line of people. You must come up with a better system if you are only willing to have one person working at a time. I waiting in line for 45 minutes and this is unacceptable.Jason S.

I was very unhappy with the in-store service on May 16th. The contract is signed by Sean Pavlichko - so I guess that is his name. My reservation was supposed to include an appliance dolly and furniture pads, as well as boxes and a mattress cover - loaded into the vehicle. Nothing was prepared in advance and Sean's demeanor that morning was INDIFFERENCE. He pointed to the dolly and pads, indicating that I load them. When I returned that afternoon the experience was worse. I mentioned to Sean that I have been charged at the time I checked out for the boxes and mattress cover. I reminded him that I did not receive them, and he responded â€œthat's got nothing to do with meâ€œ. When I pressed him to explain that comment, he told me I had to take it up with corporateâ€¦ He had nothing to do with charges and wasn't going to make any type correction to my account. I spent 35 minutes On the phone waiting for customer service, who promptly listened to my story and processed a credit. I understand how challenging it is to train & retain staff. But Sean's behavior was unacceptable; he Made it quite plan that he was not interested in anything I have to say, or the fact that I was there at the store at all. If not for the fact that I've met the store manager previously and found him to be a wonderful guy, I would several ties with this location.Joseph C.
Susan was not friendly or pleasant at all. The couple times I had a conversation with her, she didn't even want to speak. Customer service was horrible. I spoke with her about the holes in the ceiling of unit 1203. It looks like animal scratches. No accommodation. So I withdrew and requested a refund. I will take my business elsewhere. Was told my estimate would be about 80,00 $ when I got there. When I returned it, the rep was busy and said just leave the van there and she would email me my final bill. I noticed on my bank statement I had 2 charges from U-Haul for 80,00 $ and another for 28,00 $ dollars. I then called and asked why the 2 charges and she said thats how it shows up at the bank. I said that I never recieved an email of my bill to explain in detail of charges, she said Ill send it now and we ended the call. I got the email and it was so small you could hardly read it and I still do not know where the extra 28,00 $ dollars were charged as.PAUL S.

The woman who waited on me was great -- quick and competent. There was a male employee at the desk when I arrived. He was engaged in a conversation with her and was also unmasked. He didn't interrupt his conversation nor put on his mask while I waited. This didn't cost me much time, but it does create a poor customer service impression.MARVIN B.

They gave me a brand new truck but it was obvious that they didn't check the truck before giving it to me. I traveled for New Jersey to Mississippi with a truck that keep drifting to the right so I had to hold on to the steering wheel real tight in order to keep it straight and the breaks were just as bad. there are a lot of whining road and hills and when I put my foot on the breaks I had to push them all the down to the floor and the truck would still be rolling. Thank god I made it here in one piece. Do better UHaul you are playing with peoples lives!Eva P.

It's the nickel and diming that made me decide to not return here again and to suggest for others to look elsewhere. It is very possibly just the nature of U-Haul and not necessarily THIS location, but it seems designed to squeeze every cent out of each transaction. As a local resident who'd like to occasionally make use of a truck or van, that's not the kind of relationship I want to have with a business. I was lured in with the van @ 19,99 for local use. I walked out having paid 59 $. I drove just 9 miles and had the vehicle for 90 minutes. I had to pay 1 $for each mile I know but more still for 2 gallons of gas (that was according to the receipt. So the van only gets 4,5 miles per gal??) The feeling was one of looking for every opportunity to charge me. I'm just glad the wear on the tires was included. I'd probably feel differently going in knowing up front it'd cost 60 $. But thinking I'm paying 20 $and then paying 60 $- no thanks.John W.

For the first 2 years i kept complaining that i could barely get into my unit because it was so difficult to roll the door up...3 times i went to the office or called the office from outside my unit to please come and open my door...all 3 times i waited over a half hours after i asked for someone to help...2 of those times i was berated and treated as if i was an obstinate child (I'm 66 and was very respectful) the 3rd time after they couldn't get the door open they told me they would make an appointment for it to get fixed...they neglected to tell me i would need to be there and i was to call later to see when. A repair person was available...so 2 months later i went to the office and was told i needed to be there. Finally a repair person showed up and asked me how long my door was this bad..i replied since i moved in...he was a new repair person,who was unbelievably nice,sweet and talented (so unlike 2 other U-Haul employees)and fixed my door in 35 minutes...he was appalled that i dealt with this for over 2 years...i was previously told this is how these doors are, you need some elbow grease...I'm disabled and have limited use of my "elbows" ...however after the door was fixed i could open it all by myself...so over the years i had 2 UHaul employees and mr fix-it who was wonderful...all the others shouldn't have a costumer oriented job...other then coming to place stuff into the unit or emptying the unit i probably only visited the unit 20 times in the years that i had it...so i don't think this UHaul faired well as a customer oriented business who's employees are told to be respectful of their long term customer's. ..DIANE M. | Expérience générale
