I don't rate it higher because I was initially put into a unit that management later told me I had to move out of. The storage facility was not close to me at that point. So I had to drive 3,5 hours one way to fix their problems and move my gear from one unit to another. It took 10 hours of my time and a hundred bucks in gas to fix their mistakes.

after completing the self check out it took 45 mins to track down the keys to my rental in which the detail employee had, the kid with his ass out an pants to his knees with no shit on eating a Popsicle at the desk wasnt ne help at all.. upon finally getting my keys i then go to the rental which as soon i upon the door was filthy then as i walk around the vehicle i notice all kinds of damage not to mention the uhaul name missing partial from one side so i walk back inside to inform the employees which after stating several times they needed to make document of the condition and damage of the rental did they do so.. then as im in the process of moving im pulled over due to a liocense plate light out which i was unaware of good thing i was only given a warning.. i also emailed several times in regard to my rental and well i still am waiting to receive correspondence back from.. this was the worst uhaul exp i have ever had and i have been a customer for several yrs. my advice i dunno if i even have a store in anmore thats how displeased i am

Need to watch the gas gauge a bit closer and look at it straight on not at an angle. Looking at an angle is a different reading than when looking at it from a drivers view.

I was supposed to return a truck at 5pm today. When I arrived this AM there was a mix up because someone had returned a truck the day prior and the key was hanging there but no one had bothered to check it back in. I had to wait while that was done. Now this evening I returned the truck at 4:50. I have a witness to that time. It was not checked in until 6:30 and I was charged for 2 days rental and 2 days insurance. Talk about screwing your customers to cover incompetence. Last use of this place.

Hooked up first rental trailer & it had no parking lights, so I know it was not checked before being rented. Then I dropped trailer off next day during business hours with an employee viewing where I left it at drop off location - the following day I get a call from uhaul asking where the trailer was, & I told them I dropped it off around 2:30 under your cameras, which they looked up in recordings & seen me dropping it off.

All my stuff was mildewed and molded. In a climate controlled unit, was only there about 4 months. All my furniture was brand new only like a year old n had to rent an industrial Upholstery cleaner just to clean my furniture. And had to buy new beds because they were so bad.

This was the biggest fiasco. I drove to the location where I was supposed to pick up but when I went to check in it told me to go to another. Drove to the other location, no van. Spent 30 min waiting to talk to UHAUL. They told me to go back to the first location. My van was given to someone else. Waited another 30 min to talk to UHAUL. Found me another but farther away. Lost almost the whole day that I was supposed to be loading. Very unhappy.

U haul is getting and like all places. No service Trucks used to be filled. And was brought up to front. . Barley a quarter tank of gas. And u ha e to go find the truck yrself on their lot. There's just no more 1 on 1 cust service. Anywhere Buy. When u need a truck they are always my first choice.

They lost the keys and wanted me to drive 3 hours for another truck. This was after being relocated to this location which was an hour away already. They allowed us to take a local truck instead after some negotiating. It had a chunk out of its tire, bounced you all over, and the headlights turned on/off as you drove. The one guy was extremely helpful, and the other was just like oh well. It was a poor experience. Like thanks for giving me a truck/discount, but… you lost the keys in the first place? Embarrassing.

It took 30 minutes to pick up the truck I had reserved because the person who checked the truck in didn't accurately document the mileage. My estimated total for the truck was 78 with 40 miles estimated. I ended up using 57 miles which would have made my total 90. I received my bill for 169 dollars. When I called they told me they charged me for an extra day despite me returning it 5 hours later. They also said the gas was below what it should have been. However I know I filled it past where it was. He said he was unable to refund me the gas charge because he couldn't verify it despite everything else being messed up.

I originally reserved a 26 foot truck to be picked up in Burnsville, WV. I received a text the day before confirming my reservation but in the body of the text they had changed the pick up location to Charleston which is more than 80 miles away from Burnsville. I called the number and spoke to someone in traffic and they said if I didn't want to go to Charleston the best they could do was a 20 foot truck out of Anmore, WV which was 40 miles from Burnsville. I wasn't able to fit everything on the truck and had to give away some of my belongings in order to empty out the storage unit. The person in traffic had stated that he was going to refund around 30 % of my cost but haven't seen a refund at this point.

The tires were bald, the bumper was hanging on one side and rubbed the tire every time we tried to make a right turn. The trailer leaked, damaging some of our boxes.

Make sure the hatches in the bed floor are riveted shut so when you walk over it with furniture your foot doesn't fall through the floor. Location makes you sit on hold for very extended periods. Equipment I ordered wasn't in the truck when I rented it (1 furniture dolly and a hand truck. Still tried to charge me for them. Had to put personal bolts and nuts just to keep the floor up so I could move and wouldn't be charged 30 miles back to there store because no one would answer the phone. The call center that called me back was great but the store was not.

Honestly, I should get a discount off of my rental. I had to drive 2 hours to Clarksburg to pick up the truck. I originally selected Elkins Uhaul Moving and Storage to pickup the truck, got no notification regardless of what the “system” says, and arrived promptly @ 930a to pick it up, only to find out that Uhaul only provides “preferred” pickup locations. What the hell is the purpose of having a location, allowing the customer to set up a pickup, only to find out day of that I have to go somewhere else. I will be sure to tell everyone I know how fun my moving day started.

The staff at this location was excellent. Friendly, helpful and both employees had a great service first attitude. Want to recognize Mark in particular, he went above and beyond to initiate the rental process and made sure I knew to call him about any issues. He is a superstar employee!

Hire competent employees. It should not take 1 1/2 hour to pick up a rental, especially since it was reserved and checked in on line. Every customer there was very agitated. WV does not offer the self service options that NC offers.

Customer service first was lacking in help, second my van I rented was dirty as well check oil light was on from get go, third the van was hard to put into gear & finally when I went to check in I was not even given the opportunity to give any of this information instead a gentleman asked you checking on, I told him yes & he took the key from my hand & said I was done. I had to ask how I know it was returned & I would have like to have been able to check out at the counter & receive a receipt & let them note the issues, instead I had to walk out listening to two employees talk about how each other did not do anything and how lazy each other's sections was. It was not an acceptable or reputable situation for me. I for one would not as well myself, rent here again.

The trailer I was assigned was full of dirt/mud. I had to spend 2 hours of my time cleaning trailer before loading my furniture. Trailer was also missing a tail light and several bulbs were burned out. I also reserved an appliance dolly but when I arrived they didn't have appliance dolly. Messed up my day - UHAUL is undependable. Had to call back after rental to seek refund on appliance dolly - I was charged for dolly I never received. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

For one, I do not understand why you stand in line, go through the whole process of renting a truck and when you say you are paying cash you are told the next employee will have to ring you up cause that one doesn't take cash. Therefore, you have to wait on the other ones line and go through the whole process again. THEN when you say cash, you are charged more! I rented an appliance dolly and the young boy told me to drive to the side of the building and he would bring it right out. I did so and waited and waited until I finally asked a lady washing cars. She told me to go to the other side. I did and waited and waited, so I drove back around to the other side. Instead of the girl providing customer service like I was taught after I explained what the young man had told me to do and going inside and asking him, she just told me "I don't know, you need to be on the other side" and went right back to washing the car. I drove around to the other side one last time and went inside a little perturbed to fine the young man sitting on his stool talking with a fellow employee. When he saw me, he said "my bad", told me he would bring it out. Finally! I had already had done a reservation online and it said I would have to pay $60 at the store when I picked it up. At the store, I had to pay $160.00, plus went through all the headache! Get some grown ups in the store!

I thought I had been lied to by the rep who handled my return. The gas gauge was lower than I was told when I checked out the truck, but I corrected that in the online truck condition list -- and took a pucture of the gauge -- before I left with the truck. I only drove 18 miles on it, put $15 of gas (at $4,77/gal, so over 3 gallons) into it before returning it, making certain it was over the amount that was in it when I picked it up (close to halfway between 1/4 and 3/8 of a tank). After returning the truck, I realized he had charged me $10,62 for additional fuel, and the receipt said I had returned the truck with only 1/4 tank of gas. I don't know if he hadn't waited a second or two for the gauge to register properly (which I noticed took a second when I checked the gauge at the gas station after I put gas in), or if perhaps the slope of the lot was different between where the truck was parked when I picked it up, and where the drop-off spot is. But I went back in to question the charge and explained all this to the rep. The truck certainly would have gotten better than 6 MPG (it wasn't even halfway loaded), so the $15 I put in would have been more than sufficient. He went back out to recheck the fuel gauge, but didn't say anything more to me as I was waiting while he got back onto the computer. He eventually said he "put it back in there", which I took to be a credit back to my credit card, but he didn't gave me a receipt. I expected one to be sent to my email like the original was, but there wasn't one when I checked later. Credits normally take a couple of days and this transaction was on a Wednesday. But by Saturday there still was no credit showing on my account, not even "pending". So I was not at all happy and, like I stated initially, felt like I had been straight-out LIED TO by the rep. I was prepared to give a terrible rating to you because of this but figured I'd check my account again before providing a review, just to be certain I wasn't out of place. As it turns out, there WAS a credit made. (I was going to wait until tomorrow, after the holiday, to check again before doing this review, in case the weekend and holiday caused a delay, but the credit was there when I checked today). So because of this rep's willingness to correct the situation, I don't feel like I was "nickel-and-dimed" when I was certain I had returned the truck with sufficient fuel. That makes all the difference in the world.

Your computer systems suck'! There slow as Christmas. Your staff was very helpful and friendly. The Establishment was clean, The Equipment was clean. Overall it was good  but those computers make you wait longer then you have to. Thanks for being close by and having what I needed.

I have rented a trailer every year in June for the last 6 years as well as a few other times for misc trips. The first year I rented in June (2017) was okay until we were on the way home and blew a tire. They left us on the side of Ohio/Pa turnpike for 4 hrs and to make matters worse it was in a construction zone. I finally called AAA and they came to help us but every year since has been okay. This year's trailer was the best trailer I've ever rented! Very clean and better trailer brakes that any unit I've ever rented. It pulled great!

Personally , there was nothing I saw yesterday that I would change . I was treated great , the price was awesome . When I brought my truck back your cleaning girls jumped right in and started wiping everything down for the next renter . Of course you could always use another employee or two . I was overcharged and attempted to contact manager multiple times with no return phone call. Absolutely terrible service. I would not recommend uhaul to anyone.

They forgot to tell me that I was to get a lock for my unit and I couldn't move anything the first night I had it and I only have til 5pm to get everything out n to the storage unit but my car is not running right and I had someone who was going to get me moved out that night and now I can't get them to because they work. I was charged extra for not having a certain lock on my unit. I bought a lock the first month bit it didn't fit the unit and they said it would. That is why I said I had a bad experience. 20 extra over a lock that I bought that didn't fit.

I feel I overpaid significantly for the space I rented. I feel I could have gone other places for a better price in this area. The staff at this location were very helpful and this is no reflection on them or their abilities. Overall. I remain unimpressed by the Uhaul brand.

This was first time using a storage rental. They where very willing to help me. I couldn't of met nicer people. They even brought a cart out so I could load everything on it so I wouldn't have to make so any trips. He told me about how I can use their carts anytime. Something I didnt know and was VERY excited to know this....

The only thing is my storage was due on the 15th of march and i moved out on the 3rd and was not offered a refund for the 2 weeks i had left that i paid for

All my needs were met as I was first in line however there was only one employee onsite so others who showed up after me were required to wait. Personally, my experience was good and will be back.

I made a reservation and when I got there I was told there wasn't a climate controlled unit available, even though I had the confirmation email. He did find me one but you need a better process.

We were very happy with the service. Easy access and clean environment. We had an upper unit and the stairs made it a bit difficult. However, we did have an option when we chose our unit. Pleased.

Paid the extra money to rent a climate controlled room as I have done the last three years so I didn't have to worry about mold and this year when we picked our stuff up it was all COVERED in mold..

My reservation was canceled without my knowledge and when I arrived I was given the option of a unit WITH NO ROOF or a unit half the size of the one I originally reserved.

The unit reserved for me by was not available. However, the gentleman at the Clarksburg location was great! I had to choose a more expensive unit ($30 more) but due to the free month, I took it.
