I was very disappointed that the truck only had 1/4 gas at pickup. It was very inconvenient to have to find a gas station as soon as the truck was picked up to be able to complete our project. This did not make it a good experience from the start.

I checked in online so I can make it to my destination at a decent time, but thanks to this employee I didn't.. then I return the truck with the SAME amount of gas I go it with, probably off by tiny bit and I was charged $11 dollars! What a joke

Doug E.I had scheduled a 26 foot truck from Smithfield on 8/2. On 8/1 at 5:30pm I got a text that I needed to go to N. Smithfield instead. Arrived there and the truck was given to us. We put it in drive and it only went in Reverse! We had to then get a 20 foot from Cumberland. We ran out of room so I had to get a 10 foot from East providence. No one would let me return both at one location. Worst experience ever!

Lawrence D. | Premières impressionsMy issue was not with the service at this Uhaul location, it's with the Uhaul reservation system. I made a reservation to pick up a van in Natick Massachusetts 2 weeks before my expected move date. Uhaul called the day before my move to tell me there were no vans available and I would have to travel to Cumberland Rhode Island. This added not only an extra hour to my travel time, but also the cost for the Uber. In terms of pick up experience, the self mobile checkout had a few bugs. I was unable to scan the store bar code. I also had issues logging in for my order, I never received the security code I needed. One frustrating part is that the approval process is a bit black box. It's unclear what steps were completed or how long the process might take. I also could not switch over to in person pick up when I was having issues with my phone.

Lester P.I had a reservation under my name and added my wife as an alternate. With the Mobile check in you need to add a second alternate? Or alternatively need a passport or some other obscure verification method. If I'm at a uhaul o don't have a passport on me. The alternate contact I already provided should work or if I am picking up during office hours be able to work with them. Awful process
Stephen M.It would be a better business practice to be upfront with pricing. I paid two times what was noted for the van cost. I put barely any miles and didnt use hardly any gas so the fees arent from an abundance of use. I would trust a business that said - $40 to rent a truck more than a business that says $20 to rent a truck and then charges $40.

Kayla P.The truck was advertised as 15 feet, the actual usable floor length is less that 12 feet! I needed to move 12 foot sheets of drywall. I ended up having to stand them diagonally. They fell over and were all damaged. U-haul's lie cost me $175 in damaged materials plus $50 for the rental. I am not a happy customer. Stop using deceptive advertising!

tim S.This location only had one person in the store working making the wait a bit too long. There was no explanation of the bill and the price breakdown. The storage unit was so dirty upon arrival and the latch was loose on the unit making it impossible to lock. As a customer I believe the upkeep of the facilities could and should be better.
Jessica M.Although I knew I hadn't done damage to the vehicle, a plastic piece under the front bumper was hanging down (not visible when I picked up the van) and when got underneath to look at it, I could see the gray tape that had held it in place had come loose. That's how it had been fixed when it first broke off - gray tape. Nobody said anything about it when I picked it up but upon its return, they acknowledged that it has been like that for awhile. It would have been nice to know that it had previously been broken off so I knew I wouldn't be liable for damages (I wasn't). Other than that, the people were very nice and the vehicle was clean. The whole process was easy.
Kelly G.There was only one person on behind the counter. I did not mind waiting due to she had no help. Despite having a few people to deal with at the same time. She was very pleasant made sure I had what I needed and that I understood everything. Her personality alone I would go back there. As far as the truck I know it's a truck and I have driven trucks my entire life. The shocks are definitely completely shot on the truck. Very very hard driving as well. That truck could use some work. I run a business where mechanics is all we do. That truck should definitely be addressed. The suspension on it is most certainly shot.
Kristy G.I pre-registered at website. Expected to get in and out quickly. Unfortunately not enough help at this site to do that. One person to help customers with check out/check in, propane refills, sales in store and numerous other duties. Need extra help especially on a weekend which I assume is your busiest time. Also Truck condition was fine but a lot more expensive than advertised. Adding Insurance and mileage charge plus topping off gas for 29 hrs of use equalled out of pocket almost $200. Insurance and mileage charge too high. The $19,99 in advertising looks affordable but overall much more than expected!

Michael P.When we arrived to pick up the rental, my guys were told they had to have the truck back by 11:30 for another customer. This is the second time I made the reservation online and things changed or were not what we expected when we arrived. Not happy with the customer service or being able to rely on your website. We will only use this location when we absolutely have to.

VERA F.I waited inside for 10 minutes while the employee was outside unknown to me. Your computer system was reloading for nearly 30 minutes which I had no choice but to wait. The employee had to manually re-enter all my info including credit card info. The morning I returned the truck it was pouring rain and I was unloading it in a muddy area. I swept out everything I could to clean it and if I had a hose I would have washed it down. I was charged 30 dollars for a 2 minute hose job. Just not right.

I've used the uhaul on Mendon road in Cumberland a few times now and have had a storage unit here for about a year. I've had a few interactions with Kim and another gentleman who's name I cant remember but he helped me pick out my storage unit. He walked me though the building and helped me choose one that would best suit my needs. Yesterday I moved out of my unit and reserved a 26ft truck, but the day before they said that it wasn't available as the customer who has it wouldn't be here in time. She told me that she could help me out with the 15ft truck. 2 minutes later she called me again and said that they could do 2 15ft trucks for a good deal. I was super impressed again with how much everyone there helped us out. I'm absolutely floored, I couldn't appreciate everything they have done for me more. Thank you again so much. I hope the higher ups see the amazing work you guys do. Thank you again.

jennifer c. | Premières impressionsAfter 17 years of having a space at your center the only bright spot was Brian Rishe, who was very friendly, helpful and sympathetic to my situation. The lock had been changed without my knowledge or permission in 2007 by "David " the manager at that time. I don't understand why a perfectly good lock was removed without my knowledge or permission. According to computer notes it is alleged that 2 keys were sent to me which I knew nothing about. Why a master key was not maintained in the office defys any and all business common sense. on part of your management. Then we find the lock was put on upside down which required me to call a locksmith and spend an additional $75 to have the circular lock removed. Next I tried to access the unit only to have to pry open the door handle with considerable force because the door and the bar had been over painted causing both to bond together. Once in it was apparent that someone had been in my unit since the plastic I used to cover everything within the unit was dumped in the middle of the floor, boxes were everywhere, my file cabinet draws were opened and the contents were rifled through, and the floor was covered with odd and end garbage consisting of metals shards, ripped up paper, and crayola crayons , all of which had nothing to do with my contents. The place was a disgusting mess. Then the worse problem was that my Conn Symphony 8 H trombone in my original case was missing!! As if to make matters even worse, I was informed that U-Haul's policy is not to reimburse portions of monthly payments unused. I intend to contact U-Haul headquarters to resolve this but suspect that it will end up in a court battle.
