There is a billing issue which is outstanding (and apparently common, as another irate customer was arguing with staff). Furthermore, having to die the check-in myself is cumbersome. I don’t work for U-Haul, and I should not be expected to do your work for you.

I rented the trailer for two days and returned it within the 48 hours allowed. Because this location close at a certain time, I was charge $20 plus tax as a service fee because they were closed. Telling a customer that they have to have a mobile phone and use U-Haul’s app to return the trailer on time or receive a bogus charge, is a cash grab and a joke. I will be making this known on social media.

The truck broke down was leaking oil and smoking. Staff didn’t care at all, and wanted me to act as a mechanic and figure out the problem myself. No one was dispatched to get the broken down vehicle instead the roadside assistance people said I had to drive it back even though the risk of a highway breakdown and fire was present. I felt unsafe and I can’t believe I was put in that position. Your company sucks big time and I will never ever rent from your company again. The 20yr old mechanic at the Dartmouth location also said this happens all the time with that specific truck and he wasn’t going to even try to fix it, instead they were just going to put it back into service. You should be ashamed.

I booked a truck for a noon pickup. Someone called to say the earliest I could get a truck was 4 pm. It was a little inconvenient. Not sure why your website approved my request if nothing was available at that time.

Truck was dirty, half a joint on the floor in the back. Green tag clearly cut on the dolly when I picked it up, didn’t wanna get charged for something I didn’t do.

Really bad customer service! The old lady at front desk was extremely unfriendly! When I picked up the truck and trailer. She had no patient at all to me. The contract price was higher than the price I was quoted on the phone. She said is just estimate but no explanation how the price work. I was confused completely! The contract painted insurance. I said I have my own insurance and ask her to correct. She said don't worry she will make a note it won't charge to me. But she didn't make any notes. And the insurance to the end charged on my credit card! When I came to return the truck and trailer, it was near closing time.10min to 7pm. The final invoice said over 800 kms on distance from 999??? I asked her that the person quoted on the phone said it would include 1800kms coz I calculated and told him. She barely.let me talk. Very rudely put her hand out to stop my question. Then told me all is good. Just like I was told. Total is 7 hundred something. I was confused and said ok... Then she said you can go now the recipient is sent to your email. I stayed outside of the store waiting for my ride, looked through the receipt, I have no clue what is that!!! All the number is different from I was told. The truck is $89/day instead of $39.95. only 299 km included, I was over 1532.2km??? I got charged more than I was told it still tell me I saved 454.88???!! I know sometimes paperwork could be complicated among miles, kms and certain way of calculation. However, as customer I think I deserve proper explanation how my money get charged and why? I paid over $700 but not even get a simply explanation and thank you from your staff The worst thing happened after she left store and getting ready to leave. Before she got in her car. She yelled at a U-Haul staff who was trying to back up the truck. Because there was someone at back the driver didn't see. At front of me, she said to the driver, "Slowdown, there is Idiot behind you." I was amazed how rude she could be! She even didn't know that customer and that person didn't do.anythjng to her either. Just walk by maybe didn't notice the truck was backing up. Did she address all.customers like this? Probably including me coz I had so many questions. I am amazed the quality of truck and good variety and convenience U-Haul providing. However, such customer service and staff is really not impressed me. I am very dispointed with this rental experience. I request detail explanation for this invoice and refund my insurance and extra km charges. I may still choose U-Haul but for sure not.this location in Dartmouth. Very disappointed. Yun Mu

A little more transparency about the pricing would be appreciated. I dont think the cost was unreasonable. The van was clean and ran well, but the branding makes it seem like you'll be paying substantially less. "Starting at 19.95!" 1.5hours and 39km's later I'm paying more than three times that haha. Cheers.

Glad I checked the U-Haul website and found out about the U-BOX option. Whole move went very smoothly, and I would recommend U-BOX to anyone. And it was half the cost of other options I looked at!
