Drop off worked out great, pick up is misleading with understaffed location. Overall great experience, equipment had some minor damage but very quiet trailer barely knew it was there. Would definetly use again!

Have newer 6x12 trailer without ramp available. The one I had would not pass a safety inspection. Also when you advertise 6x12 trailer with ramp you might want to rephrase the wording as the back with is only 53 inches due to a smaller ramp and metal welded on back to make it smaller. Example I needed to pick up a side by side and if I didn't catch it I would have been 2 hrs away with wrong trailer. Thanks Ronnie

Make sure your customers understand the process as I arrived they took my credit card info I signed and was told truck was on its way and got handed a key. I had to go look for someone to tell me what to do next. I was able to return the truck the same day but no one had told me the process for that did not tell me to access it via the website which by the way does not provide you with any info. I was also not told that I could not return it to any depot which I thought was one of your biggest perks since you close early and were not available to help. Your customer service person was extremely short and very abrupt on the phone and when I expressed my frustration she actually said have a nice day and hung up on me.

The truck was ready to use and everything was in good order. My only comment would be the lack of paper copies of a receipt, rental agreement, or anything of that sort. I had to use data on my phone to visit a website to confirm the condition of the truck before driving away. Some people don't have a smartphone, so a paper copy would be nice to have at least as an option.

From the front staff to the receiving staff of the uhaul, Everyone was professional and friendly. My opinion would be to explain the contract a bit more regarding the kilometres or maybe pre pay for some. It's all good and the price was fair for what I did with it. But a heads up would have been good. Thanks again for the great experience.

I picked up the 20 feet truck and drove it to my house When I opened the trunk I was so surprised seeing a human poop in the middle of the trunk, I was so disappointed and smell was terrible in the box. I had to clean someone's shit my self because no one from your reputable company did a check on the trunk before the customer picks it up. I took a picture of that and ready to show it if needed.

When dropping off keys after-hours, the keybox says to log online and scan a bar code to confirm location. Dartmouth windmill location doesn't have a barcode, so there was me and three other people returning trucks that had no clue what else to try.

they did not inform the location changed or they informed the customer too late after 1-2 hours when the customer already got the first location he / she booked, then they were too late to tell us the pick-up location was changed by them.

I rented a truck from 3:30-7:30 pm as per my 4 hour contract. Returned it at 7:30 pm and dropped the keys off in the drop box as instructed. Next day U-Haul took 20 $off for "after hours drop off" (the office closes at 7:00 pm). Money grab! Also, long line -up to get your vehicle - get there early otherwise your time waiting encroaches into your hire time.

I booked a van for July 1st a month in advance, for a big move I had to do. When I arrived at their location at Green Street in Halifax, the depot was closed. I called UHaul and they informed me that the location had not informed head office they'd be closed for the holiday, essentially canceling my booking. They tried to put me in a new vehicle for a later time the same day, at a different depot. Eventually I managed to pick up a vehicle at their Windmill Road location (which was fine) but my day was hugely affected by this error, and I'm not convinced I got the discount I was promised after the hassle. I ended up paying over 50 $for a van plus insurance for 2 hours. It should have been free, after the unacceptable amount of extra planning I had to do due to their error. There was no transparency during the process. I was organized and had a plan for the day -- U-Haul did not. I will not use them again.

They had us returning the equipment to a different location. Further, the trailer light did not work. The trailer shorted a fuse in my car, So I went to the Bayer Lake location to get a mechanic to look at why the trailer light was not turning on. The staff notice the location drop-off and ask me if it was correct. Tey corrected it to the right location.

We were given a larger vehicle because the smaller one was not available. The problem is that it cost us 180 dollars in gas whereas the estimate for gas cost was 60 to 80 dollars. In our opinion, if the truck we book is not available and a larger one is offered, at least part of the gas should be covered by the company. Thank you for your time Blain and Michelle Samson

Hello, I was asked how many kms I would drive, I said about 40, the lady at the desk told me to put 50km. I only drove 37 and was charge 60km at 0,59c a km I was overcharged 13,8$ seriously!

The security system kept going off whenever I was there, went to front desk and they gave me anew card as they weren't sure what was going on. Lights only worked half the time I went in. When I booked the storage unit there was a huge mess up. was told I had a truck and storage unit booked with first month rent free, went in and was told I didn't as nothing was marked down. Got the truck and told me to go back in when I had my stuff to book a unit as they couldn't right then, which I found weird, they also told me one would be available when I got there. Once I had my stuff went in they told me they only had biggest unit available so I went with it cause what was I going to do with my stuff. Meanwhile I didn't get the first month free as they put the truck under my name and storage under my mom. I brought it up to there attention and it kept getting put off like it was nothing and they couldn't do anything. I was in a domestic dispute and had to get my things out of the house and going through alot at the time so I gave up. BUT AM NOT AND WAS NOT IMPRESSED THAT DAY. Went in a few times to rent a truck and had great experience with it and the staff were very hopefully but that one day was horrible.

I moved my things into a storage unit during a small snow storm. Everyone else cancelled their services at Uhaul, as I was told by an employee there that morning, but I decided to go ahead and get my move done. The area in front of my storage unit was iced and not salted and poorly lit. As a result, my driver slipped, broke his ankle in 2 places, and had to go to the hospital. After returning inside the office, I mentioned the incident to the employees none of whom expressed any concern about the matter. Poor property management/maintenance, no concern for the well being of customers.

Staff at the facility were excellent - however, the call center misled me to believe that I had reserved a unit (they took my credit card number) when no real reservation had been made. This could have been a very big deal if I had not shown up on site to get the layout - and got the last unit available. No notice of a circular lock needing to be purchased in order to "prevent theft" until we arrived to move into the unit. This should be included in the price of the unit if there is a known issue. The lock sold on site is garbage and we threw it out after we moved out as it was difficult to open. Bagged clothing and baby items became moldy; had to throw out a lot of it. Smell of urine near our unit, like someone had been peeing on the wall frequently. Was told when I spoke to someone to discontinue my unit that I would receive a call back stating whether or not I need to return my access card - no call back to date. Staff on the phone and inside the branch were very helpful and well spoken. Will be using a different company in the future - have had no issues like the above at Metro Self Storage.

The staff has been amazing. I have been there a few times in the last little bit as I move my mother out of her apartment. Every time I go there, they are even more professional and courteous than the last. Kim and Toni were amazing the last time I was in.

The service was poor when we had to go into the office, (online instructions didn't match the instructions from the facility itself), person behind counter wasn't wearing their mask properly (in middle of pandemic), basically told me I was a liar, and his instructions didn't work to allow me into my unit either. There's poison rodent traps in the units no one tells you about until you find it, which I think those traps are inhumane and I requested it to be moved. Was told they would remove it, I wait another almost 24 hours before going back to put the lock on the unit to still find trap inside. Was cut off by person speaking to me on to me on the phone while trying to sort out issues to the point I just stopped trying, and let them say whatever they needed too and ended the call without being properly happy about anything. The one good thing they did was give me a month free for all the issues, a ten minute set up turned into 3 days of super stress and confusion that couldn't of easily been avoided, the 1 month free feels insufficient and lazy on behalf of the company. 10/10 will never uhaul for anything again.

Reserved a 10 by 15 unit 3 weeks in advance than rented a 26' uhaul truck to move upon my arrival at the Dartmouth location was told my unit is no longer available and my reservation means nothing and it's first come first serve! It took weeks of planning to have people help with the move an expensive uhaul truck to move our things and then to show up and not have the reservation mean anything was absolutely unacceptable. When I asked to speak to a manager at around noon I was told she was in a meeting until 6. The gentleman at the desk called Halifax and Bedford locations but also not available not to mention I'm paying for the truck per kilometre. For a storage facility not back up a reservation a customer has made is unimaginable as we are counting on the unit to be available if reserved. In the end we did get a 10 by 20 unit but took over an hour to find. I'm not sure how long our things will be in this unit but I do know when I need another unit in the future and with the costs associated with moving I will certainly be looking for a company who can be trusted. If no unit became available and I had a uhaul truck rented with our things in it what would have happened? Absolutely horrible experience.

Used it for 4 months, and everything was perfect. No mold no must and I got to keep the lock! Move out process was beyond simple. If I ever need storage again Uhaul is the only place I will use.

Well, my opinion has changed from my previous post. My goodness what a difference. Staff were wonderful and handled my request quickly and so efficiently, and such a great atmosphere, you couldn't help but giggle along with them. Safety barriers in place and they added more storage units!!!! So very imressed with the difference, I absolutely recommend this store now!

Oh my gosh, Kim and her staff were so helpful. Moving can be stressful at anytime, but Kim happened to be at the front door when I entered. She warmly greeted me and took care of me through the whole process. I was set to go within a very short time. It's nice to do business the old fashioned way whereby personal customer service is still a priority. Thank you, U-Haul.

First thing: i asked at the counter to book a truck for the next day and pick up in a town 80 kms away. I was booked for a week away and pick up in the city the office was in. I canceled that order, messaged the office and i was not contacted about the screw up. Second, when i got the truck a few days later, i rolled into the storage area and the alarm was going off. The security intercom system was utilized by me to notify the office next door. I was blamed for setting the alarm off. It was certainly not me. Everything was dealt with about 45 minutes later when staff were running around trying to figure out the issue. Lady at the desk was awesome yesterday.

Kim was awesome!!! Helped me out when my reservation was messed up. The staff indoors at the office were NOT wearing masks. This is twice I've been in in a month and I can say I do not feel comfortable going back in knowing their lack of pandemic responsibility. Only 2 screens separated customers but those lines were not open, only the wheelchair and the one next to it. No sanitizers next to debit machines or desks. Uhaul is a HUGE company and am disappointed. I will be using a different company next time.

Staff was superb, I forgot a laptop in the hallway outside my locker and when I called about it the girl in the office went across the street to the locker site and brought it back to the office for me to pick up the next day. When I first rented there was a keypad access that unfortunately broke. It broke around December if I recall correctly and as far as I know it has yet to be fixed. I was told that they were waiting on a replacement part.

I have a new mattress and an electrical adjustable bed that have sustained water damage which will null and void my 10 year warranty. The mattress cover is also stained. This bed and mattress cost approximately 5 000,00 $.

Was smaller than I expected, but I haven't needed a storage room for awhile. It gives peace of mind though to know Uhaul has the storage when I need it. And of course it helps to use a measuring tape before arriving at the storage room!! :)

Second time in 4 weeks I have rented a unit with issues the first unit has a big puddle of water and the second unit had a section on ceiling falling down that had been repaired by tape.

I mainly chose Dartmouth Uhaul due to after hours access. Due to a storm, the power to the gate and the doors after hours we're inaccessible. So for a month, I had to find alternative storage because I needed more consistent access
