I live 50 miles away from the pick up location. I did not appreciate having to drive down mountain roads unexpectedly to pick up my rental. Had the website told me there were none of my type of trailers available, my expectations would have been set much earlier. I do credit Uhaul for recognizing that shortcoming and contacting me two days prior. The Liquor Junction in Big Bear was not helpful in making my reservation.William A.

We were just given the key to the truck and once I arrived at my storage unit I found out we were not provided the key to unlock the roll up door to our 26 foot truck that I rented. We had a ton of problems with our order. The moment we added to boxes to our order, on the same day our boxes were being picked up and filled, it was a nightmare. Our delivery date was changed by the person who added our boxes, unbeknownst to us. Then we found out, our boxes were now past our promised arrival date. I spent countless hours on the phone with people trying to get our things to our house on time, and it still arrived late. We were in our new house, across the country, without basic essentials like our beds and cooking tools and linens for 2 days. Then even contacting the office to get a refund was impossible. Every time I called the manager at the Minneapolis location, they were unavailable and would not return my calls.Allyse M.

I reserved a 20' truck online from a different location and an appliance dolly and was notified by phone a few days later that was not available so I was given two 10' vans. But when I was picking them up found out did not have a ramps. I was disappointed and stressed. Thank goodness another location had a 20' truck. But then when I was picking it up I was informed the truck had 1/4 of gas and it did not it was literally empty. So I had to wait for the U-Haul employee to take it to a gas station to put some gas. Then when I turned it in the app was charging me when I had already paid when I picked up the truck.Blanca M.

oh, i don't know, how about letting someone know when their order was cancelled. I placed an order a week earlier, paid for my supplies for my U-Box and set up and appointment to pick them up, the next day after my U-Box was set to arrive. Monday 7/11, my U-Box was supposed to be at my location, called to confirm it was still coming, told it was cancelled, SPENT 5 HOURS PLAYING PHONE TAG AND CONSTANTLY BEING TRANSFERRED AND HUNG UP ON. Finally, someone tells me i can get another one for the next day, i place the order and arrange my schedule once again, get another call 20 minutes later saying the driver can't make it until wednesday, after having to rearrange my schedule to have it be delievered to tuesday instead of the original monday. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED HAD SOMEONE TOLD ME MY ORDER WAS FUCKING CANCELLEDZoya A.

Our delivery was made on the day as expected however there were problems with the delivering person. "supposedly" she had a family emergency and left work early. Facility did not notify us. I contacted them after they haven't showed up after the appointment window. Meanwhile I had my scheduled movers waiting. Thankfully my movers were willing to come back. The facility said they would delivery the U-boxes within the hour which ended up being 2 hours later. The person they sent could not even park the uboxes onto our property. She needed the help of 2 movers and my husband to guide her. Even with the guiding, she was unable to park the box. We contacted her manager to tell him to let her just stay for 1 hour for the movers to take the belongings out and she can drive off. However, he didn't have the authority to allow her to work overtime. The manager was unprofessional, unwilling to come help her park the second box. Instead we ended up having to park the box on the street and my movers had to help her unhitch the tow because she didn't have the MAN POWER to do so. I understand every job needs to be filled and equality for women. HOWEVER, the position should be filled by a QUALIFIED individual.Uyen N.

I was helped by Leo, he was very courteous, and calm, considering that he seemed to be the only counter person at the time. There was a handful of people that evidently didn't want to wait. Made reservation 3 weeks in advance at a location on Holt in Pomona, CA. Forced to pick up equipment in Rialto CA, 40 miles away. I didn't like this one bit. When I called reservation, I was hung up on. Unacceptable. Independently however, I received excellent service from staff (Leo was awesome) at the Rialto location. Having had to drive far with the cost of gas these days, provided me with a discount. Very nice gesture. Made up in a positive attitude towards me. Great staff!hans P.

I reserved a truck a week in advance and was told to pick it up at Kwik Stop Dairy at 8:00. I arrived in the morning at 8:00 and was told "nobody from U-haul would be available until 9:00. I went back to pick up and there was no truck. The 2 men at the dairy were EXTREMELY RUDE and offered no service. The rest is in the notes that were taken by a U-haul rep who was very professional and helpful. The D Street location was fine but the truck was dirty, drivers side mirror was loose which is very dangerous for the driver and passanger.John R.

The truck was not in great driving condition. The alignment fell to the left and no cruise control for a 10 hour trip. Also, why offer a preferred location if Uhaul won't to bother to honor it. Did not feel like there was much customer support for a truck that ran me over $500 for a 400 mile trip. Unlikely I will use Uhaul again for my moving endeavors.Megan H.

There are multiple signs for equipment return, but very vague as to specific location. Stopped at front door and went inside to ask where to return trailer. The two guys just pointed to the back and said go there. So I drove the trailer from the front of store back around to the dead end, but still unclear where to drop it. Kareem was coming across the street to help another customer hook up a trailer and I asked him where to return the trailer. He showed me where. He also backed the trailer into the spot for me. Kareem was helpful. It would have been helpful if the return signs are more clear and also if the desk people could have been more clear or better yet come out with me and pointed out where I was to go. U-Haul equipment was parked in a lot in front of the building, beside the building, in the dead end street next to the building as well as a lot across the street. It turns out they wanted the trailer not in the back, but in the lot across the street.Randall Y.

This has nothing to do with the Downtown San Bernardino location. The service here was great and I would highly recommend it to anyone. But I did only have to go there because the Smoke + Grill location on Foothill Blvd in Rancho Cucamonga failed to setup my mobile pickup. I needed to pick it up before they opened so I setup the mobile pickup, but they didn't have it ready and they didn't open till 9 which was too late for it to work out for me. I had to call the uhaul customer service line who transferred my booking to the San Bernardino location.Arron C.

Communication was poor between your main distribution, receiving and destination department. I would call to check up on my Ubox , be given a specific date of delivery with no possiblity of trying to change it earlier. Only to get a text of an earlier arrival date. I would also get a text for ubox delivery date, but when calling to double check, be given a next day date, which I had explain my confusion to agent. They corrected it. If I didn't keep up with numerous calls, I would've been more upset and confused with multiple dates and times of pu and delivery.Reynold K.

My U-Box container moving experience was great. The staff at this location were very helpful and helped start the cross country move. The containers were delivered and also picked up on time once I had them loaded. They also shipped ahead of schedule which really helped since I was able to get my items unloaded at our new house sooner than expected. Your internal communications are awful. I was originally told it would arrive at the final destination on one date and then it came two days later. When I got there they did not have a unit reserved for me as I was told. The people who helped me with my storage process were absolutely helpful. They went out of their way to make sure they the process was very smooth. I rate the service 9/10! However, during my moving out process I saw a rat on the second floor. I asked if they had an issue with rats in the facility and the man said no. However, I saw a rat creeping around the storage. This made me anxious about my belongings staying in the storage. I'm so glad that my belongings were clean and did not have rats in it. The next morning, I proceeded to close the storage and do a move out. That same rat was there dead on the middle of the ground between storages 2140-2150 when I was removing the lock on my storage. I had some break-ins from people and missing items but the U-Haul Moving Storage was weeded out from thieves and now I think it's just not being vandalized anymore Courtesy and professional are the staff, which I like and friendly with respect is a plus for me I got a place now but I am skeptical about it just making sure I don't get ripped off, here, that's why I haven't ended my storage unit yet, LA is very unpredictable.
