Devon (Sp?) was excellent, kind, friendly and had a great sense of humor. We met him Sunday, when we picked up the van. The tech that went through the van with us was also awesome. After the poor treatment I received at the 6th st. locale, I was super pleased at Arapahoe. The gentleman at 6th St. needs help, more sleep I guess, and a much better attitude. Moving is stressful and challenging, customers need help and some compassion. The guy at 6th St was neither kind nor helpful.Delia M.

Excellent service and professionals. The only reason I didn't give it the highest rating is that there is no parking on the U-Haul lot, and very little parking on the street. Also, unfortunately, the place is located on a small residential street, so difficult to maneuver large vehicles in and out.MICHAELS I.

I was charged for dolly and pads which I verbally declined. I went back in and they couldn't refund and left a note for manager but couldn't provide me any documents. Have yet to be refunded. Additionally, both employees were engaged in inappropriate conversations consisting of repeated swearing. Also eating at desk and being dismissive of clients. Very bad experience.CHEYENNE E.

I traveled 8 miles and they tried to charge me 18 $for gas. I finally traded the 18 $for the pads I never got. It was a rip off plane and simple. If not for the rip off all else was OK except I did not get the moving pads/blankets I had paid for.PETER S.

The inside of the truck had dirt on the floor, they forgot to get me the pads and dolly and about 2 miles in the check engine light went off. Luckily, I did not have any issues. The people were very nice, the lot is way too small for the number of trucks, so you block the street, or can barely navigate.Kathryn M.

Hassle-free relatively speaking. Told them I would be late to pick up my reservation and they gave me more time (and made me feel heavily obliged) I think this is not particular to the location but maybe a U-Haul policy in general that is a nice little scam U-Haul has going. You get a truck with a gas tank that is at some capacity (e.g. 3/8ths) and you're supposed to return it at that exactly (if a little less, you guys charge an arm and a leg per gallon) and what you end up doing is filling it up a bit more (e.g. to 1/4) because you don't know how much it needs (unlike with a full tank) and so each time, the U-Haul people get back a little more gas. Need to improve website to take two references. One reference was lost. Even when I called in they couldn't locate. It appears it overrode first entry despite clicking proper link. The facility was in Downtown L.A. so it was par for the area, but parking. the facility was not large enough for equipment to be pulled thru and out without 3-point turn which wasn't good. Other than that it was average.JOSE R.

The seat was broken. There is a wire sticking out and cut my skin open while get out of the driver seatZilu J.
I checked the fuel line before and after I used the truck. And filled the truck for 1,5 gals, but I only drove for 4 miles, it is definitely within 1,5 gals cost. But when I returned the truck, was charged for 8,62 $, the agent told me the fuel line was almost the same, but only less for a little bit, so have to be charged the fee. Cannot accept the reason and will not recommend it to any one if the charge took effect.HAORAN Z.

I've been to this location twice and both times, the person at the front desk had a sour demeanor (same woman both times actually). During this visit, all was fine u til I returned the vehicle and the receipt showed a charge double what I was quoted. Turns out the person who gave me the vehicle gave me wrong information about how after-hour returns are handles, so I was charged double. When I tried resolving the issue over the phone, I was transferred to customer service, for whom I waited for over twenty minutes to answer the phone. I finally gave up. This really soured me on UHaul.Natalie H.

It's your people that make things happen both the latina woman in general morning and the black woman in the afternoon did their best under the circumstances. This was by far my worst moving experience and one that could have been avoided/made less stressful with clearer communication and assistance. I chose this location based on the U-Haul website upon searching for a specific climate-controlled storage space. This location showed as having only 1 left, so I called the 1-800 number immediately and made the reservation for it, noting that we needed a truck as well, referencing the one-month free. Upon arrival during moving day (where we then had to take the rest of our stuff with us on a two-hour drive), I noted the deal to the staff member who flat out said it would not be honored as it didn't apply to our rental (even though we verified everything over the phone). Not only that but our rate was different than what we were quoted, even though I had a confirmation e-mail with our reservation and rate. This all seemed suspicious but we had to get going with the move, so I resigned to having to deal with it the next day over the phone. I was then given my key card and tried to get to our storage room. Our key card didn't work (the rep told me it takes a few minutes -- but it ended up not working the whole time). When we got to our floor, it was hot and damp (clearly not climate controlled) and the storage did not match what we saw online. Instead of private rooms, they storage areas were cages where you could see everything inside AND the chain linked fences had openings in them. I looked at the receipt the staff member printed out for me and it said "No Climate". At this point, it was a comedy of errors. I went back down and even the staff member said this was all wrong but there was nothing she could do. We finished our move, reluctantly leaving our stuff in a cage without climate control (luckily we sold our refrigerator last minute the day before, otherwise it would be in there now). As directed, I called the GM the next day to try and have this amended somehow. Though Yolanda verified that we actually did qualify for the one month free, there was nothing that could be done about the change in reservation. Apparently, even though you reserve ahead of time -- it is still on a first come, first serve basis IN PERSON (which makes no sense, why would you show on your website that you only have "1 left" when making a reservation; that implies you are snatching up the last available spot for that specific category you checked off during your search -- in our case, climate control). Yolanda apparently honored our initial rate with a monthly discount to match (though we have yet to receive email confirmation) and now have to wait and see if a climate controlled room opens up, which we then can only confirm in person. A move is stressful already and was only made more so by a flawed reservation system and lackluster staff that, while friendly, failed to make things right during our move. I would not recommend this storage facility (or U-Haul for that matter) to anyone.Eddie M. | Premières impressions
