I had originally planned on having the truck for 2 hours. I was moving my appliances to my new house and was late return the truck because I was having hard time moving them to my basement. I called the store told them I was gonna be late. I got charged a full extra day. It was clearly manager discretion to charge me extra. I tried talking to him he didn’t want to even hear me out. You have lost my future business and I will not recommend anyone to your location or U-Haul. Very disappointed!

The employees at this location seemed generally confused about our U Box and we had a bit of a hard time gaining access to it. I called and spoke to someone about having the box accessible so that we could unload it 24 hours beforehand, and the next day when we got there that employee had not processed that request in any way and we were unable to unload our box. We talked to the employees working at that time and arranged to have our U Box out and accessible by 1 the following day, but upon returning home received emails alerting us that we had made a U Haul reservation for 5 the following day. We called the store immediately to make sure that we would be able to get into our box at 1 the following day, and after some confusion we were assured that we would. When we arrived at the U Haul store the following day, for our second attempt to unload our box, once again it had NOT been moved to an accessible location and the only person who apparently knew how to move it with the forklift had left for the day. The employees on duty scrambled to get it out for us and did manage to get it close to one of the shipping doors, which they left open for us, but not actually outside to an easily accessible location. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and kind, it just seemed like there was little communication within the organization and a lot of confusion about U Boxes in general.

I WAS WAITING FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE FOR HOURS AFTER REPORTING THE FACT THAT I LOCKED THE KEY IN THE TRUCK. THE CALL QUEUE HAD ME WAITING ON THE PHONE OVER AN HOUR! I EVEN SUBMITTED MY REQUEST ONLINE AND STILL HAD TO WAIT FOR OVER AN HOUR TO GET A RESPONSE. WHEN I CALLED THE LOCATION TO LET THEM KNOW I WOULD BE LATE AND THAT I WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONDER THEY TOLD ME NO BIG DEAL AND SAID NOTHING ABOUT BEING CHARGED AGAIN! ON TOP OF THAT THEY CHARGED ME TWICE!! I AM NOW ON THE PHONE AGAIN WAITING FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO RESOLVE THIS. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME RENTING AND I WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN USE UHAUL.

Still waiting to reconcile a charge for an extra day because of a breakdown that caused a ninety minute delay in our trip and therefore caused us to get back to our rental facility after it was closed.

Tried to get in using the mobile check in. Instructions had me go to the key box on the back of the truck. They’d back the truck up all the way in to a mud pit. My shoe sank all the way in. And the box wasn’t even back there. After locating the box, I found out the code didn’t work. They inform me that there is no replacement and I have to wait for a manager. All in all, it took 45min to pick up the truck. Which wouldn’t have been as bad if I didn’t have people waiting to help me move. And the worst part is that they didn’t even acknowledge the situation. They were joking around and doing whatever the entire time.

Your online interactions were abysmal. Every step I had to take online; receiving verification numbers, several things made necessary by my changing the drop off time, and the confirmation of the drop-off itself, did not go as advertised and necessitated a call to customer service, where I was on hold for a minimum of 30 minutes every time. Each time I was told you were dealing with a high volume of calls, despite each call taking place at different times of the day, two of them very late into the evening. It was incredibly frustrating, to the point where I don’t believe I’d consider your company for my needs in the future.

I tried to use the app to return the vehicle 13 hours early, but it choked on the credit card number. My husband presented his credit card when we picked up the vehicle, but you charged the credit card I used when I made the reservation. This is confusing in a bad way. Everything else was good, and we are grateful for the storage.

When we walked in there were 4 employees working. The one gentleman welcomed us and asked how we were doing and we responded and asked the same. The woman seated said "I'm dead". We kind of laughed although just having lost a family member I thought it was in very bad taste. We walked up to her counter and she said "I told you I was dead" and the 3rd employee said "over here". We moved to his counter and he pulled my reservation up. I asked him specifically which padlock would fit the back of the truck as it would be sitting overnight. He said "any of those would work but we recommend the round ones". The round one did not fit it at all so I had to buy a second lock. $25 on locks. I have used uhaul before as I can always trust your products and service but you may want to take a look at the people servicing this location.

I had to extend the rental twice. The first call I made was easy. The uhaul agent was knowledgeable and pleasant. The second time I called, the agent seemed confused and unsure about the process of extending the use for another day. The pickup and dropoff were very easy and the agents at the Duchtown location were above level! I am pleased to have these helpful folks nearby.

2 downsides, 1. van had less than 1/4 tank of gas, luckily I was a block from gas station, rough way to start the day. 2. got a call the next morning saying I was late returning the van, which I had left on the lot the night before.I had to call and verify they had found the van. Perhaps a better marked drop off area. And better communication between staff before they make calls to customers.

The only thing that I did not like, was at the return I could not finish the return only online. The app would not let me close my rental out. I should have only payed 67.00 and some change. But because they closed it out the following morning, I payed 82.00 and change. But it was nothing to stress over. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT.....

We rented a truck for the day and hired moving help through the U-Haul website at the same time. I talked to the movers and arranged the time - they were running late and didn't make it in time to do the work before the truck was due back. I asked if we could get a partial refund for turning the truck in early - no, the movers are a different company. Total waste of time and money. If U-Haul doesn't stand behind the companies they promote as moving help, that is just stupid.

Was pleased with the total experience. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I was surprised at how easy using U-Haul was to ship my things. Had used a major moving company in the past, it was more than twice the cost of U-Haul, and my things arrived damaged.U-Haul will definitely be my go-to company for all of my moving need in the future.

I used mobile check in and drop off. There was a box to fill in for "Contact Person" and "Phone Number" so naturally I put my name and mobile number. After ten minutes futzing around trying to get it to take the info I finally get a message that says it can't be my contact info. A simple "ALTERNATE CONTACT" would have been helpful. Also, I think there should be a discount for customers using the mobile check in/out as we essentially do all the work, taking and uploading photos, etc. Only other issue was that I am very short and the seat had no way to be lowered. I had to move the seat way forward to reach the gas and brake pedals to where the steering wheel was awkwardly close. It was a new vehicle so I appreciated the fact that all the doors could be locked or unlocked with the clicker. (Previous rentals I literally had to go around the van locking every door with the key.)

Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy in; easy out. Two issues. First, my 10" truck did not accommodate my 6'5" frame. My knees were jammed into the dash, making it difficult to drive. So, not for tall people. Second, the online app would not accept the required two pictures for returning the truck. I had to go inside and work with the staff to check out. The app needs work.
