The staff at U-Haul were friendly and accommodating. My experience was a good one. The truck I needed was available and clean. Returning it was easy. The only negative about the location is there are lots of homeless people hanging around the facility. It's not the best idea to leave one's car on the roadside (across the street) over night, if you're planning on renting a vehicle for a few days. The price of renting a vehicle is reasonable and the homeless people don't tend to bother customers, so it's an OK place to rent from, if you live in the area.

Miles was the staff member who helped us and he was fantastic- particularly when your computer system locked up for the second time during our checkout. He was professional and apologized numerous times for the long delay. He also took the time to explain the process, and how to use your website for checking back in. He was great, the van was great, your computer system- not so much.

Understaffed... long wait time in line at pickup and drop off. Advertised rates are very misleading. $29.95 ended up over $100 for a day rental (40mile round trip) and 6 blankets. Too many hidden costs to advertise such a low cost... lacks integrity.

Your on line Express check in did not work. After a long wait, I had to be manually checked in. The truck had been pulled around they sent me on my way without an inspection nor a mention of inspecting the truck on my own. I simple moved a couch and cushions pulling down the gate without using the hitch or a trailerh. Upon return the rep saw 2 small scratches on the bumper and proceeded to lay the blame on me. Ignoring my insistence that I would not allow her to hold me responsible, she deceitfully asked if I would like a receipt (the mileage needed to be reduced) and then proceeded to print a receipt with a $92 charge for the deductible for the bumper "damage". Note: the "damage" was so small that I may have very well missed if IF I had been assisted in inspecting the truck before leaving the property and prior "inspectors" could have easily missed it. I am now in the your system with a dispute to be handled by the Store Manager. I am going to assume that the manager is going to removed the charge once I am able to speak to her.

Called the franchise about a mile and a half from my home. After taking my information and credit card payment, they told me a truck would be available in the afternoon add another location. It kind of left me driving during school bus times and across town. I know there that that far apart but the late start combined with busier traffic ran me late. Would have preferred them telling me no truck was available and referring me at that time to someone else that I could talk to you at another location. It would have affected my decision to do my moving that day. I will continue to do business with U-Haul. It wasn't a bad enough experience to keep me away, I just don't think it was the best way to do business.

After hours check in was very hard for our trailer, Would not download the required picture to your Site as our other truck and van worked perfectly I should not be extra charged, we dropped all our Trucks and trailer together on 9/29

The online check in system didn’t work so I had to go inside. Which is ALWAYS a disaster. Somehow your stores are understaffed at all times. How is that level of consistently bad planning possible? If there had been a Penske truck available I would have booked it, and rest assured I will next time as well. Zero stars.

Your. system was not working well. The owner described it as slow. I had to complete a self check in at the store and it took an hour. 20 minutes of which was waiting for the approval process. Also, when in the approval screen, there was no one responding to the chat messages. Thankfully, I was assisted by another employee who was able to get the rental approved. Additionally, your self service system requires far too many pictures and hoops. Wouldn't it be advantageous to have a system like enterprise and just send someone out to check? It's faster and it increases their level of customer service.

My move to Asheville routed me through four U-Haul facilities and this was the best! This is a U-Haul center, whereas two of the others were dealers. Don’t go to dealers for auto transports!!
