Communication is key

Joel TWe rented a van to move a couch and the van reeked of cigarette smoke -- not just a little, but it was a very heavy sickening smell and we had to have windows open at all times. The van was quite new, with only 17 000 miles on it (and we used it for a total of 15 miles and topped up the gas tank for 86 cents). We took our old couch to a charity place, dropped it off, and then couldn't start the van again. This was a Saturday afternoon around 1:20. We called the roadside assistance number and waited quite a while for an update text, and then Woodford's auto repair came out about 45 minutes after that and got the van started. I didn't mind the extra time, but my friend missed a get-together that he was going to attend. The guys in the Uhaul office were friendly and professional and easy to work with when we picked up the van. Check-in was easy and everything about check-in and check-out was simple and quick. The automated emails and receipts, etc. were very handy.

Paul HThe system wouldn't allow me to go in and comment about our moving in experience, maybe that's on purpose. For a facility that I paid well over $1000 for simply storing my/our personal items, we were appalled to find the back of the storage space covered with mouse feces. That carried over inside of an enclosed garment bag towards the back. Even the movers were disgusted. We haven't even gotten through all the boxes but I have no doubt we will find the same and possibly even the mice themselves. I told the person at the desk and no one has reached out to us in any fashion. We are thoroughly dissapointed in the UHAUL facilty and will not be using UHAUL again. And yes, we should absolutely be recieving a refund but clearly UHAUL doesn't care.

Allan AI feel I was switched and bated. I order a 4 x 8 trailer for ease of travel to my destination. But a day later I was told that that trailer was going somewhere else and I would get the same rate for a 5 X 8 trailer. This trailer is much taller and cost more to haul. I think the manager should have offered me a discount on the rental. Other than that all was wonderful.

John SRented truck has previous damage. I had difficulty understanding where that damage was recorded but it was easy to identify and report said damages before renting the truck.

Walter LI've never had a problem, but for some reason, this smaller one I rented was running at high RPMs and quit once. It started back up and we didn't have any problems of it quitting again, so I will definitely use U-Haul again. It's so easy to book online, there are so many things to rent or buy there. The totes to rent are awesome!! Best of all is that everyone is so nice!!

SCOTT RReally the only problem we had was the truck Really needs some repairs and so did the car hauler and tow dollie.. all three need tires, the dome lights in the box truck didn't work, and it was dark. Thankfully I came prepared with my own lights. Other then that I was happy with my experience and will use and recommend again. Oh yeah, there's a young Mexican guy working at the capital Ave location in Wisconsin who spends more time on his phone than doing anything. He watched a customer try for 10 minutes trying to back up a tiny trailer until he finally unhooked it and moved it himself.

JOHN FThe people in Eau Claire, WI were very helpful and professional. However, due to the screwup with the return date, there was confusion on when I would be returning the trailer. Even though I did call back 2 times to confirm the dates and confirmed the return date with the staff in Hamilton, the date was still wrong. It all worked out, and I would definitely use U-Haul again.
