I offer a solution to a problem I incurred while trying to load my Harley Davidson 2004 FXDLR, soon to be a classic onto your trailer. The problem: When approaching the trailer, from the extended ramp, my motorcycle hit bottom at the apex angle of ramp to tailgate. This fully prevented me from loading my bike onto your trailer. After 6 unsuccessful attempts and about to give up, I purchased a 3 1/2â€ x 12â€ wide block of wood with a cutout lip for tip of tailgate to rest on. This decreased the angle of tailgate to trailer and allowed a smooth transition from street to tailgate and onto trailer. Solution offered here: Have a 3 1/2â€ x 12â€ swinging aluminum elevator attached to your motorcycle trailer at center point which would provide an option for those motorcycles with lower ground clearance.Mark C.

Took over an hour for the "manager" to fix the lights on the trailer when there were 4 other trailers available. He was rude, foul mouthed and was smoking and blowing smoke in my face while talking. The initial process was very frustrating. I called just to find out if there was a motorcycle trailer just available and yet I had to answer a dozen questions and supply my credit card number BEFORE I even knew if there was one available. The vehicle left me stranded twice. The battery was dead and after drop Bing it the alternator did not charge the battery so I was late to the swap meet due to not being able to start it, and I ended up stranded at the swap meet. I set up the rental online and prepaid with the understanding that would expedite my pickup experience. When I arrived I was the first person in line to be helped. It took 45 minutes to work through the process and leave with the truck...not what I consider expedited service. The truck had service lights go off during travel.RICHARD L.
The truck I was given had mechanical issues. It started shaking really bad on the freeway when I hit about 49-50mph. It felt like it was bouncing like a basketball. It was very scary and I'm not new to driving large trucks. I've driven an even larger truck in the past. So I had to drive the entire way at 48mph or less. This is the 1st time I have received a "Submit Review". My review is over the past years using UHAUL and employee THEFT. I have a need for a Tow Dolly or Transporter 3-4x's a year. I have a UHAUL facility I use on a regular basis where I also have my car washed and use their registration services from time to time. One occasion the facility did not get the return on time and I was referred to the Lemon Grove, Ca location. I made my reservation, gave my Debit Card information over the phone and went to get the Tow Dolly. I arrive about 2 hours later to find a notepad sitting on the counter with my debit # on it. I asked the guy coming to check me in what this was? No response to my question or concerns. I let him know how agitating that was with, really no response, but a blanke look. Fraud Alert from Credit Union that night for $1200 charge from Phillip-Morris. Calls to UHAUL? "Thank you for reaching out, we will look into this" but never a response or acknowledgement the complaint ever took place when following up. Many rentals later from my facility w/no issues, I was referred again to Lemon Grove, Ca. I let the person know from the call center who called of my concerns going to a location that stole from me. I was stupid enough to go back. I didn't give any info over the phone as they had my online info and I completed my transaction in person at the location. I let them know of my concerns but. This took place in the month of November 20?? and fraud alert from bank and what do you know; 12 bikes were purchased that night at a Walmart in another state for Christmas? Don't know but I went to the District Manager who assured me this was an isolated incident. I assured him it wasn't as this was the 2nd time it happened to me and I have only used them 2x's. So, my bank takes care of it with no accountability from UHAUL. A few more rentals from my facility with no issues until, again, I am referred to Lemon Grove, Ca location. NO WAY. Now every time I go into UHAUL, I am treated like a criminal wanting alternate #'s for people to answer before rental. Really? You now expect me to give out personal phone #'s to references so they can steal from them to? It is not like I am a new rental customer. Refused to go to Lemon Grove, Ca so I was then referred to El Cajon, Ca on Mainstreet. Stolen from again and, again, no accountability from UHAUL. Called, followed up, no acknowledgement a complaint ever existed, a THEFT complaint at that. From then on if my facility didn't have what I needed I found other sources to rent from. A letter from UHAUL dated 9/18/2022 with a heading "NOTICE OF DATA BREACH" is received stating my personal information has been compromised. I agree!! No doubt!! As a matter of fact, it has been used and compromised 3x's from 3 uses from both the Lemon Grove location 2x's and El Cajon Mainstreet location and I let them know. So, I recently had a last-minute need and made a online reservation with my facility where I have had no issues. I support the owner but not UHAUL. I received a call from the call center saying I would need to go the Lemon Grove Facility. I explained to the person why I would not and she was like braindead. Manager? Even more braindead. Not a kind comment but the kindest I could think of. Not even worth trying to explain as they just didn't get it, not a clue!!! I called my facility who doesn't steal from me and they said their hands were tied. I was then referred to the Area? or District? Manager Mitchell Fields. I explained to Mitchell Fields my concerns of theft from Lemon Grove and El Cajon locations asking if he could get a Transporter to my facility 2,3 miles away from the El Cajon location. Wouldn't do it. Explained Company policy wouldn't allow him to do so. I confirmed my reasons for the request (THEFT 3X"S w/an acknowledgement letter of "Notice of Data Breach") but still no. I am not a social media person but I told Mitchell Fields I would take any opportunity to voice my concerns publicly and UHAUL gave me that opportunity. UHAUL states: "Your comments will be posted for public viewing. Veuillez ne pas inscrire de renseignements personnels. If you need a response from us, please use our contact form" so I hope this is publicly posted. UHAUL, Mitchell Fields? You obviously have my personal info to reach out. I mean, Mitchell Fields, how many calls of theft concerns from a location requesting to go to another location do you get in a week? It has only been a week. I was told the van's tank was â€œhalf fullâ€, and to make sure I brought it back in the same condition. I left the lot in the van and discovered that in fact the tank was less than half full. Unfortunately, I had already left the lot before noticing this. Please be more accurate regarding the tank level. This was my second location the 1st location in lemon Grove had my vehicle for 2 days without completing the job. The location in el Cajon on main St did a excellent job.Pj H.
The staff was attentive and helpful, and efficiently moved along the rental process despite the reservation not having been entered correctly. The 1500 pickup could have been cleaner, it smelled like cigarettes and windows were pretty dirty. I had to prematurely return the equipment because it would not accommodate my project, but the owner offered alternatives. The facility appears well-stocked, clean and orderly. All in all I would recommend renting from U-Haul and from this location.Chris M.

Smooth transaction - pickup and return was pretty much flawless from start to finish. However I was charged an extra mile because attendant listed the mileage when he got into truck to move it to the pickup area not once I received the truck where the extra mile had already been put on truck by attendant moving it into place. That extra mile was not on me so I shouldn't been charged for it. I even listed that on my official check out as disputing what was listed prior to my receiving the truck. All good, but on day of 1st access, one card didn't work: 2 attempts made in office to authorize new card before it was successful. Also, no carts available for us to transport items from car. Finally, a homeless person is evidently renting a unit to live in, suggessted by a bicycle with a loaded cart on back and an open door with clothes hanging and a light inside but clear that the person was making an effort to stay quiet. There were homeless people all around the storage area. Several were inside the space where storage "lockers" were. One man was clearly taking a bath/changing clothes on one of the stair cases used for getting up to lockers. There was no way for me to access the unit let alone feel as though it was safe for me to even use the lockers. Storage is clean. Some of the staff our friendly. But when i called to reserve a 10" foot truck and auto transport she's over chanrging me. For the equipment rent shes charging me for almost $800 one way. But when i called the uhaul office they only charge me for $514 for everything. I got lots of experience at uhaul offices in just one day. 3 different locations. The uhaul main office when she called me she asked me why they over charging me. the storage rooms are not lit and there is no electricity in them But I understand you have reasons for doing that I had a few problems with access card as it stopped working But I guess the cause was my cell phone or some other demagnetizing source. AWESOME storage and customer service. Just wouldn't recommend, because if the area. Those sleeping outside, homelessness and those trying to get inside. Due to the homelessness and since it's not gated, I decided to leave to another place like Public Storage. You have amazing prices and good storage customer service, Just not as safe for customers at this location. My wife could not come by after work or when it gets closer to the evening. Even during the day there were homeless people in the area trying to get into the place without a key when the doors slide open.Victor B. | Expérience générale

I honestly dreaded the whole part of getting it set up and all the admin fun. I was literally pleasantly surprised at how quick it went and the customer service provided. My expectations were exceeded tremendously. I have been in other facilities and it felt like the pain of going to the DMV. Not here. I am so grateful to UHaul (El Cajon, CA). During the pandemic I was without work and thought I had lost everything in my storage due to not being able to pay the monthly fee. I got so behind that I just assumed my things were already auctioned off. Instead, we were offered the deal of a lifetime, pay $100 and we could empty our storage.
