I reserved the truck and the salesman on the way out to get the truck said anything over the 100 miles would be 0,49 cents per mile when I looked at the receipt when I got home they charged me 0,69 cents per mile. I called in to talk to someone the person on the phone told me a manager would call me and I haven't heard back from anyone in a couple days! When you check out they have you sign electronically before you see the itemized receipt!! I suggest you ask to see an ITEMIZED RECIEPT BEFORE SIGNING ELECTRONICALLY !!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE CHARGES ARE SIGNING FIRST!!! AND DONT EXPECT SOMEONE TO CALL YOU IF THERES A PROBLEM AFTER THE FACT THEY WONT CALL !!

HEATHER N.We have used Uhaul services all over the US and without a doubt the team at the Elkins, WV location ranks at the top. The facility itself is impressively maintained along with the trucks and the personnel are efficient & friendly.
MELISSA B.Dropping off was extremely easy. I traded the box truck in for a van. The van that I was given was not cleaned. It had garbage in the interior. The smell of cigarettes was so overwhelming. I was given odor band to spray inside the cabin. So far it is not working. I also use my own personal febreze and that is not cutting through the cigarette smell.

Elbert C.I rented a small, climate controlled inside unit. It was super clean and access was much easier than I thought it would be. Pull up to the front door and load up your stuff on a cart provided by U-Haul, wheel in and unload in a clean, dry climate controlled area.

johanna h. | Premières impressionsYesterday,2/25/23, I arrived at your storage facility. There was a young man standing outside smoking by the main door. As I was looking for my code to open the door, he explained I had to first go to A12, then return to the second keypad and put my number in. He then went inside as I moved to door A12. I typed the code into door A12 and then down the side walk to the next door. There, I repeated the code entry. The door did not open. I repeated the process again in the cold sleeting weather with no success. I proceeded to the empty office and explained to the young man that I was having a hard time getting into the building via keypad. He immediately sounded angry by his loud and abrasive tone. He repeated the directions to which I responded that i had followed those directions. In his aggravated tone, he repeatedly hit his hand on the counter in a cutting motion. At this point I informed him I was not going to deal with his attitude and him waving his hand in the air to me. I requested the storage be discontinued. He then stated "I don't know how much simpler I can make this" and repeated the steps again. I again told him to cancel my rental because of his behavior. I still do not know why the code would not work after entering into the keypad as instructed. Maybe it was the wrong code? Maybe it was a computer glitch and was deactivated? I don't know. Instead of getting up to assist me or checking the codes to ensure they were correct, your employee attempted to bully me into thinking I had not followed the correct directions. This was not the case. Because of his actions or lack of action, you have lost a costumer. Thank you for your time. Rachael Baumgardner

The storage unit is perfect and the facility is spotless. The truck was ready to roll in less than ten minutes after walking through the door. debra k. | Premières impressionsAlthough "No" was selected for numbers 4, 5 and 6 above, it should be noted that these were not "No" all the time. During the period of time we rented from u-haul, we had varying degrees of staff interactions, and varying experiences with cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. On multiple occasions over the most recent 3-6 months interactions with u-haul staff members were short, unfriendly and unresponsive. Leading up to our vacating of the 3 units we occupied, the general manager-Jimmy Kissamore-was left 3 messages with staff member Liz asking for a return call and one was never received. Additionally, three messages were left for regional manager, Marc Arnold, with no return call. Simply due to the lack of customer communication, I would not recommend others utilizing this location for their moving and storage needs.

I've gone there in the middle of the night before and felt safe. The staff would go out of their way to help you. I once accidentally left some things outside of my bin and didn't realize until I was an hour away. I called the next day, and the staff held the things for me until i could get back the next day to pick it up. If I ever move back to the Elkins area again, I'll definitely go back. Thank you .
