The 15 ft box truck was terrible. The inside was grimy, steering wheel was sticky. More significantly, the truck vibrated like it was going to come apart between 50-65 mph. It got so loud you could barely talk to the other person in the cab, it required yelling. As the majority of my driving was highway, this was very much a negative impact. Before I got 10 miles from the pick-up location, I called to see if I could trade it for another. The rep on the phone said there was only one other that was about to go out (there was an appointment for another customer to pick it up) and that it was also an old beat up truck. So I kept the beater I had. I was very inconvenienced, highly skeptical of the vehicle safety, and would definitely like a partial refund.

I had to stop here twice which was my own fault, but both times I got the same customer service rep, and to say they were less than friendly is putting it nicely. Other than that I had no issues. I was pleasantly surprised by the price and efficiency of the vehicle itself. Would've rated everything 5 if it hadn't been for the rep.

These ratings are based on the fact I didn't need the unit. I gave away the piano that I needed to store. My (no) answers are based on the fact I never went to the unit, so I can't answer whether or not it was ready and clean.

Everyone was helpful, could use a way to close out storage units online. If there is a way, then it needs to be more visible. I could not locate how to move out of storage unit online.

I use your facility on a regular basis. I do not hesitate to grab a small truck or van to use at our food pantry or clothing pantry. I also run a shelter so we move people in and out on a regular basis. I am very very impressed and grateful for everyone there

I own a moving company and sometimes I need to rent a truck. I've been primarily using this uhaul location for 15 years. There isn't one better in the area than this location. It's ran very smooth and the staff is friendly

Rude staff, lazy staff. When returning the U-Haul staff was present but made me do the return even though the app was working. I'm not sure if it ever went through fully.

When I pick the truck up it had a quarter of a tank of fuel when I returned it I had a full tank of fuel and I asked him about it has more fuel in it now than it did when I picked it up is there any chance to give me credit for the fuel that I gave to U-Haul they told me no and I would not get any credit for that I think it's sad that I put over $100 of fuel in the truck in returned it to U-Haul and they would not even give me credit for the fuel that I purchased for their vehicle then I demand that I get my fuel back because you are stealing from me that's not right U-Haul you know it you need to correct this problem

The gas gauge did not read properly and I inform the location about it. I ended up putting around $70 dollars into the tank. I was only supposed to put it a little past half a tank but the gauge was not reading correctly when I originally filled it with $41 dollars. I should have only put $20 because I didn't not drive as much. Am I able to be compensated for that? Also the side mirror would move after ever bump.

I had a good experience, besides 1. almost being charged for a truck that was already cleaned out because apparently they had to "mop it" when I followed all instructions for clean out, was swept, emptied. 2. Was almost charged for the gas when i had filled it up to exactly where it was when i picked it up. Both of these were going to be charged until i had mentioned my concern to the employee, AFTER she had already done the inspection-and it was taken off. To be honest i felt like i was being ripped off in the moment and was highly unsatisfied with the employees lack of attention and potentially charging people money for things that they shouldn't be. I had also been charged $55 previous to me even having my inspection BEFORE dropping the truck off.

Make sure that the unit is clean before the next customer uses it. The truck I rented had a muddy floor with only 1/4 (quarter) of gas. I had to use 3 buckets of soap and water to clean it out at my house

This is first time had such a problem getting my truck. Waited outside for truck 20 mins! It was "buried" in snow in back of office!!? We didn't have that much snow and there were other trucks up front just like mine ready to go!? Why assign me one and not have it ready? I had come in early to be on time, and was late to start and Meer people I Paid to help me move cause no one knew I needed my truck then it's buried! Then I was running late to bring truck back @4p.m and needed an hour, till 5p.m, and was charged almost $70 for an hour!! And lady on phone acted like I was asking for a day! She was soooo nasty. I had such a stressful day from being because of delay getting truck then treated like shit at the end by your company again!! I did later that evening grt my $70 but why so nasty?? And why take so much money to start from for an hour?? OMG it was a nightmare with this! The only people I can say were great was new girl signing me in! It was ALL down hill from there! Worst experience there in the almost 20 years been coming to this location!!

Drove 25 miles and got charged $27 for gas!!! Rented small box van, that means it would have got about 3 miles to a gallon, amazing the check in computer was broke when we checked in. Not at all happy I also put in 2,5 gallons before I took it back just to make sure and still got cheated, want my $27 back!!!! Rented here several times and never had a problem.

Have an employee that wants to work in customer and is people friendly. She had a very poor attitude like she didnt like her job. She complained when i asked her a question about the size inside a van. Her response "I love how people just assume we know these things" while rudely handing me a brochure. I replied "I didn't assume anything, all I did was ask you a question". The other staff seemed pleasant but who knows. Maybe all of the staff have that attitude. And she stopped handling one customer so she could pay out another employee cash.

Kiersten, the customer service Front desk cashier employee was Absolutely amazing and so was Austin. Both of those are assets to your company. Because of their efficiency and knowledge and helping hand I will recommend and return. If need be thank you to you both you made my experience. Great.. the only downfall was the snow and weather. We reserved a climate controlled storage unit. When we got there there was a long line that took 30 minutes to get through. Once we were being waited on we were told the unit we reserved was not available and that we could get non climate controlled or go to another facility. Staff was unprofessional, griping, and antagonistic. Their knowledge about their own processes and computer systems was severely lacking. Gate access to the storage area was not working, even after getting two access cards activated. What should have been a 20 minute visit turned into an hour+ headache of an ordeal.

The unit they gave me was dirty and the ceiling was ripped and coming down, all fiberglass exposed, they put a few pieces of red tape on it and said it was fixed. The people there were very unorganized, and had no idea what was going on or what they were doing. Never rent there again. I left and went somewhere else.

I came to U-Haul because of the convenience being less than 5 miles away. I have never rented a storage unit before this is my first time. I had a flood in my house and lost almost everything. The little bit of belongings that I could salvage I wanted to store safely. I went into U-Haul in Lorain and rented a truck and storage unit. I will never use U-Haul again or refer anyone to them. The office staff was so unhelpful and rude if I wasn't so desperate I would have left and went somewhere else. When renting a storage unit for the first time I had no idea how it worked. The office staff didn't explain how it worked or even what to do. One guy at the desk could not complete my transaction because he didn't have a cash drawer so I thought he was getting another employee to help me as other customers were coming in and getting waited on I'm just standing there. So I finally asked the guy at the desk why I wasn't getting any assistance and he said well you have to get in another line. I have never been there before I didn't know I had to go to another line. I just lost all my belongings to a flood I'm completely heartbroken at what is going on in my life and just needing a storage unit for a while until I get my house back in order. I'm sorry I'm sure this comment won't help anyone and probably no one will even read it so I'm probably just wasting my time.

I've had the best customer service from this facility. I have three total storage units, unfortunately two with other providers closer to my home. I initially went with the other company, due to storage availability and location. However, I'm definitely consolidating, and switching to Uhaul. Solely based on the service that I received from this location.

G.M there was not very helpful to employee that helped me.The employee actually worked in the garage and was working up front at the desks. He helped me get a storage locker. The G.M there charged me 11,95 plus tax for a lock which I didn't notice until next day.2 big signs there show locks regularly 11,95 for 9,95 went back for the difference and she made all kinds of reasons that she charged 11,95 employee there tried to refund the difference but GM didn't let her. I have the pictures of the two signs showing 9,95 saved

Note: Due to other problems at this location relating to truck rental, my move in date went from originally being scheduled for 02-11-23 to 02-12-23. The storage I reserved, had a rusted lock handle that look like it could give someone tetanus (the other storage units around were not rusted) and I had to ask them to assist because it would not open (one of the staff came out and oiled it. I didn't get his name but he had a major attitude during the whole process. The staff member named Asia never added the insurance coverage, as she reassured me should would, for the storage at the end of the billing process/check out process. She was courteous but did not follow through with these situations. I am extremely disgusted by the experience at the Elyria, Ohio location. Truly I am. I am considering if I can find a way to take my storage items somewhere else locally. As a customer I don't need to be made to feel as if I am bothering you on the job. Unbelievable.

I have had a consistently horrible experience with U-Haul a s company and at this particular facility. When I billed wrong 3 months in a row and tried to address this concern inside with the staff, they did not try to help me or fix the problem in any way. I closed my storage rental and have now moved to Public Storage instead.

I only had one issue on my end, and that was not checking out before leaving after my initial visit. That resulted in a denied access on my next visit, which I noticed after further inspection of the plethora of signs on the facility. Completely my fault. Only thing was, I wasn't immediately sure what the proper course of action was after that. I was able to head into the store / office, and was then granted a key card to swipe on the gate and exit keypad that I was informed about. But I am still am not sure what would be the proper course of action should that happen during hours where the office / store is closed. I was previously unaware of a key card being available, so it was a pleasant surprise. Otherwide my experience was very enjoyable and an happy with my unit.

The female manager screwed up and double booked the same truck and tried to put the blame on me - so she lied and said I brought my truck back on a half a tank of gas. She also tried charging me for two days when I didn't even have the truck 13 hours. I called corporate and they continually apologized for their employees behavior. Fore, she didn't expect me to have documented evidence of paying for gas and a full tank. She also said I went X amount of miles, but if she had put thought into her lies she would had realized the math to miles and gas didn't add up. I have proof that every single thing she said was a lie. And I hope to god someone high-up sees this post and investigates into her because she should so not be a manager. She's going to get Uhaul a lawsuit filed against them … the way she does customers.

Uhaul did not express to me that my storage reservation is only good if the unit they have is actually available. When I arrived yesterday for my reserved 10x10x8 storage room with an established move in date, I was told that the unit I had reserved was not available. The only one I could get was 10x5x8. Which is roughly half the room I was expecting. We were lucky enough to puzzle piece everything together to get it all to fit, but as a company you shouldn't rug pull your customers like that. Just makes me never want to go through uhaul again.

Upon cleaning out my unit I was disappointed to see water damage to a few of my items including damp couch and love seat , also water in my child's toys . There is significant water damage to the ceiling of the unit … I have put in a claim request as told by Uhaul website and have heard nothing .

First it took them two hours to my access right when I first rented, then they put a lock on unit when I was paid up on time, two months after I rented the unit, then when I was going to get my stuff out of storage, they ended cutting my lock off and was told my the maintenance man not to tell me what he did.

I reserved my storage unit online only to find out that the size I reserved was not actually available. I then had to get 2 storage units instead of one and the price was double what I was originally quoted. I was assured by the manager that she would get the price adjusted. I waited for 2 months and my calls were ignored by the manager. At one point I was denied access due to late payment aft we r being instructed not to pay until the price was corrected. In the end I was still charges over 100 dollars more than I was originally quoted. I would recommend never using Uhaul storage.

I had difficulties from customer service trying to rent a storage I showed my ID and they were not wrote me the unit because of my son old money which had nothing to do with me it was a total nightmare as far as the facility the employees try to do everything they could I had a problem with customer service thank you and I thought they was taking the payment out of my account automatically so I was a few days lateThey ended up sending my mother the bill which I don’t know how they got her address she had nothing to do with it it was very embarrassing I really was upset about that

1. Cannot contact the facility directly. Have to go through a long general U-Haul phone response center. 2. Did not know about a required U-Haul lock. We were not told of this requirement at check in. Received a call requesting a change 1 week after we checked in and had left the area.

I mean, there wasn't lighting but it was outdoors so that's to be expected. I was using a free 30-day unit due to coronavirus displacement, so I'm mostly very grateful that it was quick and easy to set up the unit.
