The charges get high. I rented a truck for 4 hours and it ends up being 63 dollars. Wow! Plus i put 15 in gas.

After paying with my debit card at UHaul (approximately $41) , a few hours later I received a fraud alert text from my bank that an attempt had been made to charge my card for $8,100 for ANOTHER UHaul purchase! I immediately called my bank and the purchase was declined but my card had been compromised and had to be cancelled. UHaul needs to increase their security on their credit card system!
The key drop on the garage door took a bit of searching to find, since the after-hours drop off said it would be near the main lobby entrance. Updating the website, or having a clearer sign at equipment drop off would help.
The truck had a leak and all my boxes got soaked! I work for a moving company an ive never had that happen. The truck ruined my 2 year Olds son's books and tons of other things.

The lady that was at this location was very nice and she was very friendly
I made the reservation online. Website asked relevant questions, which included an approximate miles being traveled question, then I was able to "pay" online. Upon returning van, i was given a different (almost double) total. Upon review I found that even though i was asked on website for an estimate of travel miles these were not used for the total I paid online at time of reservation. The mobile pickup and return is glitchy and somewhat confusing to use. Outside of van was dirty.
I picked up a 4 x 7 cargo trailer in Southfield Michigan. Excellent service by that gentleman. I got the trailer for $22 plus the $60 deposit on one way from Michigan to Ohio and had it for 2 1/2 days. My destinations drop off changed now I needed to go Pennsylvania it's three days before Christmas. So I went to my drop off location. Dropped off the 4 x 7 cargo trailer three hours early because I had a lady call me from corporate office of U-Haul and asked me if I was going to turn the trailer in because there's a person that needs it to rent. I obliged to her and said yes I'll bring the trailer in early because I need to get a bigger trailer Too go to Pennsylvania but I'll be staying here until Monday after Christmas. So this works out and she agreed. I go the next morning to drop off the 4 x 7 cargo trailer. I told the young kid behind the counter then I'll be staying here until Monday morning which it was Wednesday morning when I was there. That I would like to get a six by 12 cargo trailer after I turn in the 4 x 7 cargo trailer. I asked the gentleman about my $60 deposit and he said it would be refunded on my debit card in five business days which is normal. At that time I told him again. That I was going to spend the holidays here so I'll be dropping it off at this location in Pennsylvania mid afternoon Monday. At that time he did his job correctly. He gives me the paperwork and it was $200 including the $60 deposit. For two days so that means I would have to turn it back in on Christmas morning I told him then I was not going to be in Pennsylvania until Monday mid morning. He told me after Friday it will be $20 a day until I drop it off. So that $60 for the extra days plus the $200 I initially paid on my debit card. Follow me so far? I check my bank card when I get back to my nephews house. And they took $274 off my debit card. so at this point I'm pretty upset. So when I called and asked clarification on the $60 deposit returned and for them to explain to me how can I get a 4 x 7 cargo trailer for 2 1/2 days. For $22. And then go to a different location and get the next size up trailer. Because they didn't have no five by eights that's why I got the 8 x 12. Why would it Cost me $334 for six days actually 5 1/2. His answer to me was it is what it is and hung up on me. I'm pretty confident because I've been in customer service my whole life. Not every U-Haul service center is like this young kid was. But I think it's a disgrace the younger generation in my opinion price gouges when it comes to a customer having faith in that company representative to take an Extra $74 off my card and not give me an explanation how that happened compared to the paperwork that I was giving. Don't ever go to this place very unprofessional. Now that older gentleman outside was outstanding did every single thing complemented Me on my truck. I would refer that gentleman to anybody. But as far as the young man inside well taken behind the shed a couple times might teach him some manners and respect for older people people that pay attention thank you Young man you made my move experience very Unpleasant. To the point I will never use U-Haul again. Merry Christmas everyone.
Check out process could be better. Waiting in a long line for a receipt is inconvenient. Receipt should be issued by check out person at truck.

Nothing. I have to comment that the young female who helped me with my rental(sorry I do not remember her name was amazing. Very customer friendly, extremely knowledgeable and should be commended. Also I was very impressed by the facility and the smoot customer friendly operation. Will definitely rent from there again!

Great job for everyone. Only problem, I waited on hold for 11 minutes before they picked up the phone. Guy on the other end did apologize for the long wait. I tried to rent a appliances dolly on my U-Haul app but the only option was to buy one so I had to call. Andy Eck
Truck was not aligned correctly. Very unsafe and hard to control. I was charged the incorrect amount before I was even told what it was, $120 over the actual amount. I was reimbursed but it didn't go back to my account right away, I understand that it is on the banks end but before you process the payment ask if it is the correct amount. It is easier than waiting for the reimbursement.
