Rented a trailer, and the equipment and facility gets 5 stars. Where they loose points is at customer service. The front line employees did the best they could . Severely understaffed ( as always, even on a Friday ). Some customers waiting 45 minutes to purchase 1 box as the one agent on the counter is trying to multitask , and the other agent outside is on training ( by himself ) . Again I stress it's not their fault , but more so management . Some of the regulars know that this is the same old song and dance And nothing changes. U haul has always had the best equipment/ quantity in my opinion , but they loose customer because they still haven't figured out the "customer service" concept.Guy M.

I ORDERED A 26 FOOT TRUCK 2 WEEK PRIOR TO MAKE SURE I COULD MOVE ALL MY FURNITURES AND BOXES, TO MONTREAL FROM TORONTO! my vehicle had damages to it that were not noted in the supplied photos. The photos were taken from different locations/times as some photo backgrounds were indoors and some outdoors. The cargo bay had rice spilled all over it. The employees were able to clean it out but I was told that their cleaner did not have a drivers license therefore only cleaned the Cab. There was inadequate staffing at the service counter. There seemed to be many employees but only 1 person actually providing service! I was annoyed as was everyone in line. I would NOT recommend U-Haul for this reason.Brock R.
I did get help on my return but it was limited with no reimbursement. When I called from Muskoka I was told to let the company know of my situation but this was useless. The total cost of rental and gas 558 plus my time.Jennifer K.
Picked up a truck and a no fuel sheet was not provided. I took a picture of the odometer and fuel level before I started driving. Before returning the truck, I filled it up to where it was. However, the guy doing the return said it was low from when I picked it up and charged me 25 $. He made no effort to verify what it was supped to be and just said he can't do anything.Grant H.

I book appointment for hitch installation 3 weeks in advanced , got confirmation e mail . While booking installation required 3 times regarding install date since it is a holiday in Canada I was advices that hitch will be installed that day . 4 days prior installation call to confirm installation date and time , I was advice that yes installation is booked for October 11 at 2:30 pm hitch is in and when I advice that that is a holiday they told me that hitch installation technician is not on that day â€¦. Waist of my time and I had to scramble last minute to pick up hitch and find another U hall location who would instal my hitch ! Not very impressed with system !!!Ljiljana M.

All of a sudden you need an emergency contact number. I gave my wife's home phone number she wasn't home they wouldn't accept it. Then I gave my daughter's phone number she didn't answer. They would not accept it. Then I gave my mother's phone number she didn't answer they did not accept that.I know why they are asking for these emergency phone numbers. You should have preferred customers that do not have to do that. I rent trucks from your company often. I hope someone reads this and contact me I am very upset with this new policy. Excellent location and very helpful staff! Our original pick up location didn't have the truck we reserved, so we changed the pick up location to 1472 The Queensway a couple of minutes before the pick up time. They have a huge inventory, so we easily got everything we booked.MANVEER S.

The exhaust on the passenger side sounded like it's leaking a little, easily can be fixed. Also at the counter we were told that 12 miles are included in the rate. We only drove 10 miles but still got charged for the 10 miles, it ended up not included which we expected. Counter attendees should give customers the proper info! Hi - the picture on the website does not match the storage units. I wanted a drive up but you have trucks parked down the middle of every aisle making it extremely difficult to get my car in and impossible to back up into it. It was difficult to find anyone to ask for help. I did eventually and he was very nice but it was extremely confusion and instructions didn't match what i had to do.sarah c. | Online Move In
I just have two relatively minor complaints. I had included furniture pads with my order, so was actually expecting to be placed in the truck. Fortunately I check before leaving and discovered not present. Returning to the order desk I was then instructed to just take package from rack in store. I think would have been better to have been informed before going to the truck. In the end I received everything I was paying for so really just a minor hiccup. I was somewhat surprised that my truck was still in the rear yard, with access blocked by two trucks. I was delayed approx 15 min leaving while trucks were moved to allow me to exit. I was actually expecting to have the truck located out front, especially knowing I was picking up first thing in the morning.Ross G.
My last visit to your location was horrible. I had reserved a dolly on line, but when I got there I was told that they were first come first serve.....then why have me reserve one. I was upset and the woman became rude. She gave me the farthest truck and it was blocked in...not an accident or coincidence. Not having the dolly made my move go longer and cost more money. I was not informed that I was going to be charged for an additional day when I dropped it off. I told the attendant that the truck roof leaks. If I had known that I was being charged an additional day, I would have gone inside and talked to someone because the leaky roof slowed down the unloading not to mention I used 4 towels which I had to wash after. I received a phone call to state that the 15' van wasn't available and had to take a smaller one. I called back the following day to Uhaul 1-800 and suddenly there was a 15' van available. This isn't satisfactory customer service. If you change a van because you didn't have one??? Then you suddenly have one you should call the customer back to give them the option to get what they wanted .Walter C.
Guarantee your reservations, very unsatisfactory with the overall experience was sent from one location to another, with no prior info that the vehicle I reserved almost a month before would not be available, making me go to another location outside of my moving area and later being charged that additional mileage on my final Invoice. plus a Uber I had to use to get to the location and then get back home after leaving the vehicle at ectobicoke all the way from midtown TorontoJoshua G.

This location is completely disorganized and unprofessional. They do not honour rental reservations made online and tell customers that their storage units are rented on a first come first serve basis. Showing up with all of your belonging at the unit you were told you had confirmed only to be told you dont have one at all, is completely unacceptable. We ended up having to take a unit much further away and paying an additional 180 $in klm fees because of it. I will never use this location again, and probably not Uhaul either! I am filing a complaint with head office, as this whole situation is shady. No location should be able to get away with this practice, and the company should be looking in to it to ensure it doesnt happen going forward.Roy B.

I would recommend this location because of the large selection and amount of trucks they have. HOWEVER, the after hours drop off should be improved. Parking lot is crazy, trucks are parqued however they want and not following the marked lines, there were also cars parked occupying truck spots. We tried to call customer service to know what to do as the parking lot was full, waited on the phone for over 1 hr. At the end decided to park under the uHaul sign.STOJAN M.

I did not get a dolly I was charged for. Tried calling uhaul and after wating over an hour to speak to someone I gave up. Also after hours return area was crammed with trucks and not nearly big enough. I had to leave truck in an adjacent business parking lot. Finally, I did not get the truck size I needed and thus had to throw out a couch and other furniture because there wasn't any room. Horrible experience with you and NEVER again.George F.

Terrible customer service from uninterested, careless, and rude front desk staff. Incredibly inconsiderate of people's timing and schedules. Very poor communication regarding arbitrary parts availability and scheduling changes. Disinterested management and terrible combatitive attitude from the afternoon manager. I will NEVER be using U-HAUL for either rentals or services again. You should be ashamed of your reputation on Google Reviews, and seriously consider some house cleaning of your staff from the Etobicoke location. Shame.David J.

We were very frustrated and disappointed to learn that the rental agreement we had in place for a duration of 8 weeks, 2 trucks was just cancelled without prior notice! We were advised they cancelled us, leaving us in quite a bind, as they didn't have trucks available..Why make the reservation in the first place! Reservation #:23239379 queens way location etobicoke I picked up the cargo van, but the agents had to switch to another van due to tires condition), during that exchange and because I was in a rush, he didn't give me the Dolly that I paid for and I only realized that half way through to Ottawa. I called customer service and after a good 15 -20 minutes on hold. The rep said I could pick up one in Ottawa and she texted me the address of the closest location which is Pincrest one. Also during my ride the engine oil indicator was on indicating 7 % and service light on. I stopped at Pincrest location but the agent refused to give me any dolly and was even surprised the customer service sent me his way, he called his manager who wasn't of any help either. I also told him the engine oil is on so he walked to the van with me and checked the oil and said it will last till I get to Toronto. I asked him again about the dolly as I desperately needed one, he said there is no sharing between different locations. Next day Saturday the agent Aman from Etobicoke location called me asking when am I returning the van, I told him I didn't get to finish packing / loading and I will need till later afternoon. I asked him about the dolly if he could help me as I was moving stuff from my old house in Ottawa to my apartment in Toronto so loading boxes was ok from a house garage but unloading in my building is extremely hard without a dolly as I have to carry the boxes from van to elevator and it will take me forever . He then suggested that I pass by his location and collect the dolly before I go to my building.; but I told him I'm arriving in the evening on Saturday after store closing so he suggested that I wait till the next day on Sunday at 9 am and collect the dolly! I told him I cannot do that as I have no place to park the van overnight with all stuff in it. I asked him to help me by leaving the dolly for me at a spot in the store location as I am on my own and cannot afford to carry boxes from van to elevator but he said no. He then said he will try to do something about it and will cal me back. He never called back and I was left with no Dolly and it took me forever to unload the van. When I returned the van, I was charged on my credit card something I didn't understand so I left a note to call me. Today Paul called me and after explaining the inconvenience caused he didn't show any care or empathy and said it was not his problem. Also I didn't understand why I was charged three times for this rental, first time 186$ when I booked online, then 300$ when I picked up the van and then 121$ when I returned it. I asked Paul to explain but it didn't make sense to me, an additional day is at 20$ while I was charged 121$ and I did include 1000km for mileage when I booked online on Friday morning. He couldn't explain it clearly to me and all he said he will refund dolly charge and send a me a detailed invoice. He only refunded 7$ while the Invoice shows 14$ charge for two days of dolly that I didn't pick up. Customer service was poor, I wasted time in the Ottawa location for nothing and didn't get assistance that I expected. The charges shown online at time of booking didn't match what I was actually charged.Rina H.

The staff was completely unhelpful and didn't seem to know what they were doing. Trying to speak to someone there to get help is virtually impossible holding on the phone for over an hour. Tried canceling online and although I received a confirmation it I was still harassed with calls and emails telling me I was behind in payment.
