I rented a 15' truck and when I got to my location to load up my apartment belongings into the truck I opened up the back door only to find that someone had transported probably 10 000 pounds of marijuana in the truck !!! all of my furniture and belongings now smell like marijuana when I got to my destination The u-haul representative apologized and said that they try and clean the trucks out but as you can no doubt guess this truck you could smell the weed in it from 3 blocks away.!!. Unbelievable!! by the time I got to my location to pick up the contents of my apartment this truck ...when I opened the back door was so overpowering with weed ...that you could barely breathe.. I did not want to drive the truck all the way back to the dealer to get another truck so I just wentb ahead and moved my furniture in it... but it was very disappointing to say the least... All of my boxes all.of furniture.. Now smells like marijuana.

The 15' truck we had should have been pulled from service. After I loaded up our gear the truck would not start. Uhaul subcontractor showed up and determined the shifter for N and P was faulty and had to by "jury rigged" in order to tell the truck to start. Thus, not a reliable starting vehicle. I conveyed this message to the drop off point at Mountain View. I made sure I did not turn the vehicle off during the entire time to ensure I could get to my final destination without the safe knowledge the vehicle would start again. Thanks for having your repair crew inspect this vehicle and repair, same.

The young kid at the counter did a great job. He is a student at Humboldt State University. This kid clearly works hard. I recommend you increase his wage, maybe even cover some of his tuition expenses if that's possible.

I was told not to drive truck through water, then when I did my walk around there were water marks on both doors. I purchased straps that were to help move furniture, as there was not a furniture dolly on site even though I ordered one. It was partially opened, I was able to open with bare hands, considering its was the hard plastic wrapping that normally needs to be cut open I figured it had been open at some point. I didn't use then, but was told since package was opened I couldn't return them, even with receipt. Upon returning truck I filled take to exactly what showed on walk around. Then told I needed to have filled it with more gas. Showed the second guy that tank was returned with exactly the same amount of gas. Was told I would be emailed receipt and as of 10 hours later still do not have receipt. VERY DISAPPOINTING SERVICE!!

Be nice to know you can get extra miles when you get short changed mileage wise at the pick up destination!!! You charge enough, it should be unlimited miles!!!

The only down side was that the car transport trailer light plug came out (the clerk at the location plugged it in), and the plug was eroded from dragging. The only answer I could come up with was that the plug was already damaged and wouldn't stay plugged in.

I am still waiting for my receipt to email. The man working was unable to find his co workers when I returned to check in . I felt bad for him he was nice and helpful. The window knob was missing and was hard to roll down.

I had reserved a cargo van. Had confirmed online, by phone, and in person. When I arrived at approx 7:30 am for a confirmed 7:00 am pick up, was told no van. Truck only had ½ tank gas, which caused yet another delay on a very busy moving day. And it was difficult to figure out how to return with exactly ½ a tank. When returned truck - yes they provided a truck as no van, was told would receive an email of the receipt. Still waiting for the receipt.

I loved it the truck was very well cared for even though I returned it later we'll have someone return it for me later then it was supposed to be you guys didn't get upset due to the threat of my health went kind of weird so thank you for that but it was great I'm really pleased that I did this so now I know who to go to and I called a lot of you lost and you guys were the best choice so thank you so much and please stay safe please have a great evening bye

There were two employees. Both helpful. The employees that assisted me said he was not fully trained. He reviewed the truck and then stated that I owe $201.00. When I asked “why” he said he didn't know but could ask the other guy because his cell phone didn't tell him why. It was determined that he typed in the wrong number for the speedometer. To improve: train your employees, have more than two people working on a weekend, perform the inspection with the potential renter, maintained the truck!

I did drop of the trailer we rented. I parked under the tent, No one came to us. All the doors were locked, I walked into a work bay and the man reluctantly took a pic of my license plate and un hooked the trailer. That was it? Haven't rec an email stating I returned it.

I'm sure it depends on who's working but the people working seemed overwhelmed or disinterested. Side view mirrors are critical to driving safely, yet rather than adjust the mirror, or even explain how to adjust it, the person that helped me said "just push it" which moves the mirror out of the way but doesn't adjust it for safe operation. I stopped en route, purchased an Allen wrench and fixed the mirror. Also, I guess U-Haul doesn't bother to walk through basic controls anymore (lights, wipers, brake, emergency flashers) which is too bad. U-Haul puts more of the job on the renter (taking photos of damage, etc.). Bad corporate policy and direction--but what else can anyone expect.

I just wanted to rent a trailer. There is too much paperwork and forms for something that simple. The branch was great. But I do not like the process. I can hook up my own trailer. There doesn't need to be a photo taken of the job.

I reserved a tow for my car weeks in advance, and when I went to pick it up, it was apparently rented out to someone else and they didn't have a tow for me any longer. This resulted in someone having to drive my car on my behalf 600+ miles, plus the gas it took for both the 10” truck and my car. Poor organization led to this. However, the employee who helped me was kind. Just wished there was a discount of some sort offered due to this issue.

A copy of my receipt would be nice to see The last time I rented a box truck uhaul charged me for 2 days when I only had the truck for under 18 hours There was also a worker at the location when I picked the trailer that was being some what rude to the young man who was helping me He was not the manager but seemed to have a problem with everything the associate was doing in order to check me out

Schedule correctly. Be open when you say you will be open. Don't try to charge more for your mistakes. Don't lie about availability. If changes are required on your end try letting the customer know in advance. No more nasty surprises.

No problems with the equipment but staff seemed either undertrained or understaffed. Waited in line for 30 minutes just to pick up a van for a reservation I had already made. Very inefficient and poor service.

Hire somebody to answer the phones. I opened my truck and it smelled like weed so I could not move my furniture because I didn't want it to smell. I tried calling the store and no answer but when the rep I got at the call center wrote over in chat to the store the worker wrote her back right away, but couldn't talk to me. All he wrote to the rep on the phone was this is a big issue around here. If it's a big issue than why didn't the person that checked in this truck notice and not rent it out to somebody else. That's the frustrating part!

Grinding or rattling in first gear under the cab. I am 6' 2”. With the seat all the way back my knees were jammed into the console. I can't imagine how someone taller can drive. This is not safe.

I rented the truck to tow a trailer and the sales agent assured me that the U-Haul hitch fits all couplers. Once I got to the trailer several hours away I found out that the coupler did not fit the U-Haul hitch. It appeared that someone had bent the hitch and it only has a small gap between the bumper and the hitch ball for a trailer coupler. After calling customer service and receiving absolutely no help with the issue. My only option was to drive the U-Haul 7 hrs away to my house and get my truck and drive 6 hrs back to get the trailer.

I returned the vehicle and was told “good to go. I'll send you a receipt” Instead I went inside to get a receipt and was charged that amount to my checking account. Later that day I was DOUBLE BILLED!! My savings account is now at a zero balance because of overdraft and my checking account is overdrawn . I have been on the phone for two days to try and get my money back for being charged TWICE for the same rental contract and all I get is “we'll research it” in the meantime I can't pay any bills and am about to incur more service charges, late fees and derogatory hits on my credit. U-Haul sucks and I will never recommend their services ti anyone

I told the teller I needed to charge my rental to a different credit card when I returned the truck and they said “definitely no problem”. But then when I checked out they said “oh sorry we already charged you right before you walked in the door. You didn't tell the guy outside?” (Referring to the guy outside who took my keys and said nothing to me) I've returned a lot of uhauls and never had them try to charge me before I get to the counter to check out. Anyway he said there was nothing they could do and I'd have to call the 1800 number now.

The staff was doing their best but they were totally overwhelmed, They had a line of customers to the door and every one of them had an issue. They said the problem was that they had not been properly trained on the POS system, and the didn't know how to do the things required. I had to wait almost an hour to get the truck checked in. Then to add insult to injury after wasting an hour of time when I had so much left to do... I was charged $0-.87 for going over the allotted milage. I should have charged for my wasted time!

hire some employees that are not children. Train the children to say please, and thank you, sir and no sir. Train these children to be respectful to seniors. Ian, the kid that turned my truck over to me, was bobbing and weaving behind the counter, like he was on drugs, at 0900. He mumbled and spoke too quickly behind his mask. He took about 5 pictures of my driver's license with his PERSONAL phone. I asked him why so many pictures, and if that was a company phone, and he said NO. When he put the charge / deposit on the rental truck, he did NOT tell me that he was just putting a HOLD on my card. I called him on that. When he needed my Driver's license, he said "I need to see your license". He should have said "Could I see your Driver's license to Copy it with the Company Scanner, PLEASE"

The main reason I'm giving a one star is because when I walked in there were three employees working behind the counter. Two of them were with a customer and I have no idea what the other guy was doing because he never acknowledged me that I was still breathing! I stood there for probably 5 minutes and I never even got a simple "Hello, I will be with you in just a few minutes." C'mon man!! What happened to " customer service? "

When we got there, the person who works there (Matt) told us we had no reservation for storage. He was very rude and did not offer to help us at all. We then spent the next hour plus on the phone with U-Haul reserving another storage that was supposed to just be included with my one way rental. I added another storage unit (so that we had two) and then when I got off the phone they told me we only had the one that took me an hour to get from my original reservation that disappeared. Called back again (since Matt wouldn't help) and they said there was in fact only one storage reservation and they didn't have anymore available. Even though I reserved the two and they took my credit card and information for both units. What a hassle. It took so long that we had to extend the truck rental return a couple hours.
