This is the 4th or 5th weekend in a row that I've used U-Haul equipment and my experience at this facility was upsetting. The staff was very unprofessional. They had computer issues both picking up and returning which took an hour each time with only 1 customer ahead of me. The tail lights were checked and approved by the gentleman who issued the trailer and hooked it up to my vehicle but when I checked them myself I noticed the left taillights were not working. At this point, I was running behind so I just left upset. I will use U-Haul again, since we just sold our house and we are tackling the move ourselves, but I will not rent from this particular location again.

Only issue we had was the parking area - customers returning rentals block the driveway. Returns should be brought to the far end of the lot to ensure a better flow of vehicles. Customer service was Fantastic even the new employee knew what to do, was able to show us how the appropriate method to attach the box trailer and made sure the brakes and lights worked. Plus they were extremely polite and professional.

Over the course of the last 2 months I have rented 1 car carrier and 3 cargo trailers from this location. The car carrier rental turned into a real fiasco because it was done on line and with the corporate call center. But the route 110 Farmingdale branch did everything they could to get me hooked up with the equipment even though I had to go to another location. It really is not the workers fault that people do not return equipment on time and sometimes a day or two late messing up your reservation. But they shoulder the foul language and salty comments with respect. I have found that when I take the corporate call center and "on-line" B.S. out of the equation and go to the physical center itself and speak to the guys in person EVERYTHING works out great. I am moving out of state and renting trailers every 2 weeks or so and Joseph, Nick, Vetal, and Reggie can't be of any more help than what they are. They are polite, figure out a way of getting me the equipment that I need, reserved for the day I need it and for the duration that I need it. Let me tell you, these guys work their butts off in the yard running checking in equipment, getting to the desk, helping the people inside with reservations or pick-ups, running back outside hooking trailers up, checking in/out trucks etc. I was there last week when a customer started to give the guys some lip about how his equipment is never there or ready for him and he reserved it on-line a week early. Joe and Vetal were very courteous to him through all his gripes. I told the gent "these guys have nothing to do with the order if it is done on-line or though the call center, and they can't help it if equipment is not returned. So tell it to corporate where you placed the order and don't take it out on them." So if you need to rent any equipment from this location, I recommend you take the initiative and go down there (lets face it your the one that needs it), speak to any of the gents in person and I guarantee you will have a great experience. P.S. I just returned a trailer, and made another reservation for next week. Absolutely no hassles. Joe V.

Everything with the actual rental was fine. When I picked up the truck, the employee behind the counter was not wearing a mask and the other employee was wearing his under his nose which made me uncomfortable. When I dropped off the truck two different employees were there and both wore masks the whole time which made me feel more comfortable.

I was charged for 2 days when I only had the truck for one day. I was only told that if come back after closing I would have to create a Uhaul account to do the truck off after closing or would be charged 20 for service fee. At no time was I told that I would be charged another day.

The truck had less than a quarter tank of fuel in it. Unacceptable when you rent a vehicle you shouldn't have to go right to the gas station. It's only way for the company to make money, the truck should be taken out full and brought back full. I could not get the key out of the ignition three different times an sat in this vehicle for almost a half hour each time. When I parked the truck at night time it was fine, when I started in the morning the battery was completely dead and I had to go and borrow jumper cables to jump the vehicle. I think the least they should have done was give me a discount for renting this truck today

Great customer service in farmingdale, but when I arrive in plano to drop off a trailer for uhaul the female staff was very rude and the first thing to said was delivery hours are over and looked like she just wanted to leave I arrive at the plano tx facility at 430pm and they closed closed at 500pm I was dropping off a trailer for uhaul that I picked up in the bronx new york. Very bad experience at the plano facility

All was great with truck however upon check in the gentleman started our check in and then stopped and walked past us mumbling something about a return. He left us standing there at counter for about 15 minutes before returning to finish our check in. He never went over contract with us and contract had a 1pm return time however I only got the truck at 1020am. I rushed truck back only to find out I had till 2:20. Same gentleman was there when I returned truck and much to my dismay had no mask on while helping customer. Myself and my gf are in high risk category with Covid. Needs to communicate better and to respect his customer s by following the mask mandat here in New York.

When I arrived in the Saturday morning at 830, only one person on shift working, the area by the parking had a huge sheet of ice that not had been salted and was very much a dangerous hazard. The truck,17 foot, was clean but in need of definite maintenance . When driving over 40mph it felt like the tires turned into square blocks. I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to complete my move without having to call a tow truck. When I returned at 4:30 pm again only one person on staff. There was a line, fortunately because I was returning I did not have to wait. This place needs help.

Really disappointed. I guess when is too good to be true double check maybe even triple check just to make sure you get what you are promised. My reservation, was given a cargo vas that according to the person taking care of my order was gonna end up being free because of a 50$ credit for not completing my reservation as matter of fact his words were you are probably gonna have a 25 $ left when you return the van. Had no reason not to believe him, my mistake!!!. Now I'm disputing a charge of 138$ and they think is ok because they say I'm still gonna get the credit for 50$ , still leaving me with an 88$ bill that was not in my budget way off when my reservation was for a 5x8 ,the cost was 21$. Ask and get it in writing what ever you are promised!!!. Thank you for your time.

“Mobile pick up” was the easy and convenient. I did the entire check in process from my car, and I went inside just to pick up the key. When I came back I dropped the key in the “lockbox” and the transaction was completed. I haven't rented a uhaul truck in a while but this was the easiest process ever. Thank you guys and keep up the good work.

I arrived on time at 11 am to pick up my van, did not leave with my van until 11:45. There was only one person there who knew what they were doing, the other guy was training apparently, and he was trying his best, but it took way too long to get my van. Also, I reserved a utility dolly and they did not have one for me, told me they hadn't had one in a while. This made moving that much more work, not to mention the late start I had from the delay in the store.

Had a reservation for a one way drop off and the U-Haul double booked my reservation. Was forced to bring the U-Haul back to the Farmingdale location and was charge the maximum of $0.99 a mile. In this situation, since it was the companies error we should have been charged like a one-way and not charged by the mileage or at the very least should've been charged the minimum of $0.59 a mile. Very disappointed and will never use their services again.

Farmingdale was the third location we were sent to. We only found out the truck was here by calling the second location. Check in took time because one of the employees wandered off with the key. The check in employee forgot to give us pads we ordered and forgot to print the receipt until asked. I believe we were overcharged for insurance—I asked for only damage not assistance. One clerk was not wearing a face mask. We were directed to the truck and sent to the wrong part of the iced in parking lot. When we located the truck it was parked in a completely different area behind a car. The owner of the car was never located. The truck could not be maneuvered around the car because of uncleared snow and ice. A staff member offered to help after we asked repeatedly to have the car moved but kept wandering off. He gave my 61year old husband a rusty shovel blade without a handle. No one from uhaul helped clear the truck a path out of the lot. After long effort my husband dug out the truck enough to move it around the car. He missed an appointment for a Covid test required by the state we were traveling to because he was stuck on the lot for over 45 minutes.

I was charged for a 2 day rental when when I left the facility I was told to have the Trailer back the next day I rented it around 6:30 I returned around 6:45 I did the truck share I did not know that it would be closed due to the snow the manager or the customer service rep told me that I didn't have to bring it back if the weather was bad he would extend my time if the snow was very bad I took a chance on returning it in the weather dropped it off no damage and I was charged for two day rental I will never use Uhaul again i rent pretty often from you and I will not recommend you to anyone

Picked up truck at 2PM. Returned it at 7PM. Owner said he would e-mail the bill. Received the bill the next day but the return was not entered until the next day and they charged me for two days on a five hour rental. Filed a complaint with CC company and they sided with the business. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION.

A LOT!! First by FIRING the africian American (I am also Africian American) with the BAD attitude!! He did not treat me as I am.a valued customer. Instead was very ARROGANT regarding a price for a bicycle posted for one price and when I agreed to buy it for the posted price ATTACHED to the bike with a type of tie needed to be cut off WITH A KNIFE OR SCISSORS, he tried to sell it to me for $40.00 more and became insulting when I questioned his motive!!! I asked for the manager Karlil Barnes who was not present but another worker gave me the managers ph number who I called SEVERAL times but has yet to respond to my call even though I left my name and phone number on his voice mail. I am writing the Better Business Bureau NOW U haul corporate office, as well as the fair trade commission!! Thanks for NOTHING!!!

after paying, took45 minutes for employee to come out to hook up trailer,waited on other patrons that were on line after me. There was a reservation. Returning trailer told to drop in location it was in,no help unhitching, trailer very heavy causing me to hurt my back. For a normal person to use trailer needs trailer jack.

The 2 young men there were amazing. The place was busy, and they stayed calm and in control. I was in a rush but could not complain about the wait because they were working their asses off. They gave each costumer time they needed. You should applaud them and give them a raise or hire more people.

The transmission on this truck was slipping the whole time. Scary ride. This location is not compatible with mobile truck share pickup and return. They do not have a key locker so even though my pickup was at 7 I had to wait until they opened at 8. Despite calling the prior day to confirm I can pickup at 7. Also there is no barcode to scan to complete truck return and I was told they have never seen a barcode and to just drop the key in the box. The staff was immature and unprofessional.

I was not satisfied overall and will go to a different company next time. I was told $1.39 per mile by the employee and his manager next to him, and when I dropped the truck it was $1.89 per mile instead .. and they refused to adjust it.

Truck was overbooked so I was down sized and not told. Reservation was for 7:30am but no truck so had to wait til8:00 when they opened. Truck was not big enough for what I needed so made my day harder. Customer service was terrible we I returned the truck. None of the employees would check the truck back in so after waiting 15 mins I did it my self on the app( no one else in the store). I guess they had better things to do. I will never rent from U-Haul again.

Computers were not working during pick up. Line was out the door, way too many people waiting to pick up their rentals. Sales associate was making phone calls to people who "had not picked up their rentals", except that they all had and it had not been recorded in the system.

The customer service at the location was terrible. The employee that helped me had no idea what he was doing. He had me waiting there for 20 mins for no reason. When I asked him what the hold up was , he said oh I'm sorry , your all set. Also I reserved online so I wouldn't have to wait inside. And I still ended up waiting for no apparent reason.

Was supposed to pick up truck 7 a.m. was told time was 6 p.m. Not happy because I had reserved truck about 5 weeks in advance. Fortunately last user returned truck early. Wasted almost an hour getting my rental. Not happy.

Very slow service. They rarely answer their phones. The entire staff seems confused and not concerned about any of the customers problems. Less than half the staff were wearing masks. They made moving very stressful at a time where it would have been very helpful to have less concerns and not more. I would never recommend this location to anyone.

Computers weren't working properly. 40 mins to rent a trailer that was already reserved. The employee had to redo the reservation from his cell phone. Positive note employees were really nice and helpful.

I waked in with out a reservation of a truck and was told there were no trucks available I then went online to check if any of the other close by U-Hauls had any available trucks and turns out the store I just left had 1 available. Why do I need to jump through hopes if one was already available? Not sure if this was the stores fault or just the way the system is designed but that's just not right.

The manager disappeared and you had one girl who was inexperienced to help quite a few people. She said she couldn't give us a key to use the storage but when she finished with the line of people she would open it for us. Essentially we rented a storage area but couldn,t use it. Everone was complaining and talking about never using you again. I was furious . Where was MR Ryan Nedd. So many other problems occurred. I was furious and exhausted I want you to know I never complain because of many reasons. Worried about the potential damage it could cause Maybe I don't understand what was really happenning. But this experience from the moment I decided to use "U Haul" was so outrageous .
