The truck was dirty Inside there was only a half a tank of fuel And I was charged the insurance on both the truck and the trailer that I rented without being asked and I've done it in the past and not taking the insurance and I think that's wrong to just put it on there without the customers knowledge and consentLOUISFRANCIS P.

All the additional equipment I requested at the time of my order was not there when I picked up the truck. when I receive the pick up location from 1800- U-Haul I was told that these items would be there with the truck. Although the attendant did call and find a U-Haul about 12 miles additional east of their location who did have the extra blankets/paddings. When I went to get them the attendant at this location would not rent them for a one way trip. Very disgusted with the whole thing. Very surprised by the poor coordination from 1800 U-Haul.WARRENJ W.

This is the 4th or 5th weekend in a row that I've used U-Haul equipment and my experience at this facility was upsetting. The staff was very unprofessional. They had computer issues both picking up and returning which took an hour each time with only 1 customer ahead of me. The tail lights were checked and approved by the gentleman who issued the trailer and hooked it up to my vehicle but when I checked them myself I noticed the left taillights were not working. At this point, I was running behind so I just left upset. I will use U-Haul again, since we just sold our house and we are tackling the move ourselves, but I will not rent from this particular location again.MICHAELTHOMAS M.
Only issue we had was the parking area - customers returning rentals block the driveway. Returns should be brought to the far end of the lot to ensure a better flow of vehicles. Customer service was Fantastic even the new employee knew what to do, was able to show us how the appropriate method to attach the box trailer and made sure the brakes and lights worked. Over the course of the last 2 months I have rented 1 car carrier and 3 cargo trailers from this location. The car carrier rental turned into a real fiasco because it was done on line and with the corporate call center. But the route 110 Farmingdale branch did everything they could to get me hooked up with the equipment even though I had to go to another location. It really is not the workers fault that people do not return equipment on time and sometimes a day or two late messing up your reservation. But they shoulder the foul language and salty comments with respect. I have found that when I take the corporate call center and "on-line" B.S. out of the equation and go to the physical center itself and speak to the guys in person EVERYTHING works out great. I am moving out of state and renting trailers every 2 weeks or so and Joseph, Nick, Vetal, and Reggie can't be of any more help than what they are. They are polite, figure out a way of getting me the equipment that I need, reserved for the day I need it and for the duration that I need it. Let me tell you, these guys work their butts off in the yard running checking in equipment, getting to the desk, helping the people inside with reservations or pick-ups, running back outside hooking trailers up, checking in/out trucks etc. I was there last week when a customer started to give the guys some lip about how his equipment is never there or ready for him and he reserved it on-line a week early. Joe and Vetal were very courteous to him through all his gripes. I told the gent "these guys have nothing to do with the order if it is done on-line or though the call center, and they can't help it if equipment is not returned. So tell it to corporate where you placed the order and don't take it out on them." So if you need to rent any equipment from this location, I recommend you take the initiative and go down there (lets face it your the one that needs it), speak to any of the gents in person and I guarantee you will have a great experience. Everything with the actual rental was fine. When I picked up the truck, the employee behind the counter was not wearing a mask and the other employee was wearing his under his nose which made me uncomfortable. When I dropped off the truck two different employees were there and both wore masks the whole time which made me feel more comfortable.STEVEN K.

I was charged for 2 days when I only had the truck for one day. I was only told that if come back after closing I would have to create a Uhaul account to do the truck off after closing or would be charged 20 for service fee. At no time was I told that I would be charged another day.THOMASS F.
The truck had less than a quarter tank of fuel in it. Unacceptable when you rent a vehicle you shouldn't have to go right to the gas station. It's only way for the company to make money, the truck should be taken out full and brought back full. I could not get the key out of the ignition three different times an sat in this vehicle for almost a half hour each time. When I parked the truck at night time it was fine, when I started in the morning the battery was completely dead and I had to go and borrow jumper cables to jump the vehicle. Great customer service in farmingdale, but when I arrive in plano to drop off a trailer for uhaul the female staff was very rude and the first thing to said was delivery hours are over and looked like she just wanted to leave I arrive at the plano tx facility at 430pm and they closed closed at 500pm I was dropping off a trailer for uhaul that I picked up in the bronx new york. All was great with truck however upon check in the gentleman started our check in and then stopped and walked past us mumbling something about a return. He left us standing there at counter for about 15 minutes before returning to finish our check in. He never went over contract with us and contract had a 1pm return time however I only got the truck at 1020am. I rushed truck back only to find out I had till 2:20. Same gentleman was there when I returned truck and much to my dismay had no mask on while helping customer. Myself and my gf are in high risk category with Covid. Needs to communicate better and to respect his customer s by following the mask mandat here in New York.vicki P.

When I arrived in the Saturday morning at 830, only one person on shift working, the area by the parking had a huge sheet of ice that not had been salted and was very much a dangerous hazard. The truck,17 foot, was clean but in need of definite maintenance . When driving over 40mph it felt like the tires turned into square blocks. I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to complete my move without having to call a tow truck. When I returned at 4:30 pm again only one person on staff. There was a line, fortunately because I was returning I did not have to wait. This place needs help.PETERJOSEPH M.
Really disappointed. I guess when is too good to be true double check maybe even triple check just to make sure you get what you are promised. My reservation, was given a cargo vas that according to the person taking care of my order was gonna end up being free because of a 50$ credit for not completing my reservation as matter of fact his words were you are probably gonna have a 25 $ left when you return the van. Had no reason not to believe him, my mistake!!!. Now I'm disputing a charge of 138$ and they think is ok because they say I'm still gonna get the credit for 50$ , still leaving me with an 88$ bill that was not in my budget way off when my reservation was for a 5x8 ,the cost was 21$. When I came back I dropped the key in the â€œlockboxâ€ and the transaction was completed. I haven't rented a uhaul truck in a while but this was the easiest process ever. I arrived on time at 11 am to pick up my van, did not leave with my van until 11:45. There was only one person there who knew what they were doing, the other guy was training apparently, and he was trying his best, but it took way too long to get my van. Also, I reserved a utility dolly and they did not have one for me, told me they hadn't had one in a while. This made moving that much more work, not to mention the late start I had from the delay in the store.Taylor S.

Had a reservation for a one way drop off and the U-Haul double booked my reservation. Was forced to bring the U-Haul back to the Farmingdale location and was charge the maximum of 0,99 $ a mile. In this situation, since it was the companies error we should have been charged like a one-way and not charged by the mileage or at the very least should've been charged the minimum of 0,59 $ a mile. Very disappointed and will never use their services again.William H.

The manager disappeared and you had one girl who was inexperienced to help quite a few people. She said she couldn't give us a key to use the storage but when she finished with the line of people she would open it for us. Essentially we rented a storage area but couldn,t use it. Everone was complaining and talking about never using you again. I was furious . Where was MR Ryan Nedd. So many other problems occurred. I was furious and exhausted I want you to know I never complain because of many reasons. Worried about the potential damage it could cause Maybe I don't understand what was really happenning.
