I liked it better when there was 24 hrs access. I work odd hours so being able to have access whenever was a major bonus for me. Over all it's the best storage facility I've ever had

Javier M | Expérience généraleMy experience was very good in all areas...except temperature control on the top floor. The AC units at this location are simply too weak and too few to handle the demands of cooling in Southern California. If there is roof insulation, it is inadequate. Anyone wishing to store something even somewhat sensitive to high temperatures should look elsewhere. If this problem were to be corrected, this would be a very good facility to recommend. Note: for many years, we rented a unit on the first floor, on the north side, and were fully pleased with the climate controls. When we moved to the unit on the top floor, however, summer conditions were the exact opposite of our well-controlled first-floor experience.

Brett G | Expérience généraleVery convenient location for us. We used it to store things from the shed at a house we sold until we could find a new home. Easy access. We liked the electronic gates and the elevators. We actually only saw staff there a couiple of times including move-out day. When our lock failed we had to drive to U-Haul rental site a couple of miles away to get a replacement.

Over the years I've had things at other storage companies where we had to throw many things away because we could not get the grime off that had accumulated on everything, so I really appreciate the cleanliness of the unit. Thanks U-Haul!!

griselda r | Expérience généraleCheap corrugated aluminum sheeting for storage along with plywood flooring the lockers can easily be broken into by simply removing the lock brackets with a screw driver. Restroom was dirty when ever I visited it.the general manager is a hostile and no empathy kind of person. I was there for over a year and needed some assistance and he didn't care. So I moved out.

mary r | Expérience généraleStorage units are dark inside, no light. Need to bring your own battery operated light to see. Units at Route66 location do not have roll up doors. no one ever told me that. After renting the unit, I could not house furniture as it was intended because the units had a door that opened into a hallway that was no wider than 3ft which did not allow you to turn furniture from hallways through doorway. Too, the door was not very wide. This should have been shared by Uhaul Associate. Organizing movers, cost involved etc. to find that the unit could not even house the items intended. The Uhaul representative did not think to consider sharing the limitations of their units. That is their entire job, knowing all the details of each unit. Unacceptably ignorant. I was told I could get another unit elsewhere, but I had already paid movers. I was not going to pay twice and this was during beginning of Covid when storage was hard to find. Ask questions because the staff are to ignorant about their own job to tell you what you will need to know. Outside of that issue, the premises are clean and the bathroom clean which is rare at these type of places. Rout66 location can be dauntingly if you are by yourself. The premises are often empty and there is no one from Uhaul that walks the premises or is on the premises, or at the very least make their presence known and available to renters; making sure that people are safe.
Nancy D | Expérience généraleNew to U-Haul storage, was surprised that no one was on-site to help during business hours. The U-Haul App did not make clear how to obtain "access card" or "lock". Only after my Son pressed a button on keypad did a person answer saying that we had to go to a different location to actually get access. This was not at all clear on signage and was Very Stressful and added delay to our efforts. This needs to be fixed Thank You. :)

Thankfully a person I was with saw an "intercom button" and a "real person" answered telling us what to do. Should have been on a sign, but wasn't. 800 # kept routing me to a different person with total 30 minute delay which did not have time for.

Anthony K | Expérience généraleI know U-Haul did a lot of security up dates, but did not secure the internal walls of each unit. Allowing theft to happen. Insurance would not of reimbursed the loss of family possessions and financial belongings. A sad experience to go through.

I will be suing u-haul and one of your managers due to the fact that your MANAGEMENT evicted me because I had my SERVICE ANIMAL on the premises with me. Not only that, after he was told that she was my service animal, he demanded to see her service animal papers, demanded to know what my disability is, insisted she be wearing a "service animal" vest, and patronized me when I told him he was absolutely outside of his rights. He was so obviously unaware of the laws he was breaking, instead he kept informing me that because u-haul is a "private" company, he was able to say and do whatever he wanted. Unfortunately, his ignorance is no excuse for his disgusting behavior. I am apalled and I couldn't be more dissatisfied with your services. I actually loved u-haul and their storage facility, because I was able to come at any hour, day or night (which said manager so eagerly informed me, I did NOT have, despite the fact that my key card allowed me access at all hours the entire time I was a customer at the facility. The ONLY saving grace this experience has, was Justin (the custodian) that I met the day I was made to leave. He was the kindest, most helpful, and very knowledgeable. He assisted me in any way he could, and he did so with the best intentions. He, in my opinion, should be the manager, since he possesses the customer service qualities necessary to accomplish the job that the existing management staff does not. I will NEVER use u-haul or any of their services again, but I hope Justin finds a better job where he is more appreciated, where I would be happy to be a patron of.

Anita J | Expérience généraleThe location was easy to find and even being there late at night it still felt safe. The 24/7 access was awesome. Now for my negatives: I was on the 3rd floor- climate controlled. It was anything but. I made several complaints about it being evening time and over 95° on the 3rd floor. Made it extremely hard to move things around and it was cooler outside then in the storage. I was told every time, a work order had already been submitted but nothing was fixed. I even lost some of my items in storage due to the heat. Next I had auto pay set up but kept being charged a late fee and when I called 3 times asking why I was told it was a computer error. That was a huge inconvenience having to call every month to fix that which never was. The elevator sounds like it was going to break every time I got on. It really freaked me out. I also wished the lightning in the storage was better, I had to bring a flashlight every time to see inside the storage. People parking their vehicles multiple nights in a row and parked sideways made it hard to move stuff in and out as well. My experience wasn't completely horrible but definitely have things that could be improved.
