CHRISTOPHER RMy experience in U-Haul honoring my reservation was awful. Even though I placed my reservation a month in advance, I was notified two days before my move that there was no truck available at my requested pick up location in Great Falls. I was asked to drive 70 miles each way to a different town get the truck I requested. That was unacceptable. Instead, I was given a truck 2x's the size that I needed and had to pay more. Unacceptable. The Great Falls location provided no assistance in finding a solution.

EDWARD LKurtis was extremely helpful. You could tell he knew what he was doing. Being my first time renting a car hauler, he explained the features of the equipment and had me hooked up and ready to go in minutes. Kudos

Sandra JEverything was Scheduled through the APP and very easy. We needed to extend the rental for another day, had no problems doing that and rhe money that was needed was promptly returned when the rental was.

Neal AThe only reason why I rated this U-Haul Self Storage at 4 stars is because the access hours are the same as the office hours, which is fine, but I hope that this U-Haul Self Storage follows other U-Hauls that I've seen and allow extended access hours or even 24 hour access.

JASON MEveryone was very friendly and helpful. The only suggestion I have is to maybe have the website update the access hours. I went to unload in the morning at 0530 when it said would be available, and I wasn't able to get in until 0900 which in turn made it so I had to pay for an extra day. Merci.

DEON TNot all of the key pads work causing an inconvenience to de-arm my unit. With U-Haul having all of its members phone numbers and emails, they could have sent out a message stating the issue, the corrective action, or even the temporary fix. No "out of order" signage was posted or any notification. Instead I had to go inside and ask about the issue. After all, every year U-Haul ups the rent to cover what ever excuse at that time, maybe some of that money could cover a simple sign. I realized that my units alarm was faulty and although I would arm it, my items were not protected by that layer of promised deterrence. I will give U-Haul staff a thumbs up as they moved me to a larger unit with an employee rate which was similar to my smaller previous unit. But when I was told this year there would be an increase in rates via email, it say almost $18 a month. I talked to the staff and they told me $10 for larger units and $5 for smaller units. Explain that to me in a way I will understand. With this ridiculous increase in rent, I had to purchase a key fob to open the bay doors after hours and if I wanted 24 hour access then I would have to pay a monthly fee. I understand the reason why the fobs are needed as they keep people out that camp in there or are seeking cover from the cold. Every time I would come to the building I would open both doors just to make sure they work with my fob. And they did. I did notice that one doors rollers were messed up while opening the door and I reported it to the staff which should have been noticed while a walk around was "supposedly" being conducted. The staff always are nice and friendly and I have never had an issue with any of them other than the general manage a couple times. The building is usually mostly clean and well lit with lighting. The hours are reasonable but a fob is not going to stop someone from coming in late at night and is a sorry excuse for a fee. Overall I'm in the middle of the road with my experience as there are things on both sides that prevent me from swaying one way or the other.
Adam R | Expérience généraleSomething that could be improved on is additional training/experience for staff or adding additional staff for installation. What was projected to be a 2-hour job turned into 6 hours, due to lack of knowledge and what the technician explained as not being as strong as some of the ones who normally do it. After the job was completed and I paid he showed me the hitch which appeared to look good but the wire was it's just hanging and that is when I found out that there is an additional bracket that could have been added to secure the wire better, that would have been nice to have known sooner. Thank goodness this is our main location we use and staff is friendly and knowledgeable and other areas or this would receive a lower rating.

Candice HSome nice people that are trying but the processes are horrid and actually getting the job (hitch installed) done properly good luck. Background: takes me 40 min to drive to the store... they require 1,5 - 2hrs (allegedly) to do the job... basically blocking off an entire afternoon. 1st attempt to install a fail cause they didn't have the correct hitch (somehow got put in the system as a 1,5" instead of 2"-ordered via call to the central system) and they didn't have the right part in stock. Manager did great job of trying to make right and we were able to find a time/day (I had a very narrow window due to trips) for a redo-- and this was clear to them. Show up for round 2 (I was early). Three guys working. They seem surprised when I showed up (appointment had been booked over a week ago so??) and they pass the job to one of them...When they look it up --yup 1,5 hr job per their system. I walk to a nearby store and coffee shop to pass the time and show up back 1,5 hrs later... My "installer" is now the only one in the store handling customers and hasn't gotten through my install. Ok fine be back in a bit and do some more walking. After another 30 min... I show back up... and he is still the only one in the store and still hasn't finished my install. My dog was at the vet and had 30 min at that point to pick her up. Explained that to the guy who then rushed to finish it... not getting the wiring "as clean" as he'd like (what does that even mean?). But, in a rush I figured I'd look at it later. Note: 2hrs 20 min (not including the 10 min early I showed up) for a BOOKED appointment that "requires" 1,5hrs and the delay wasn't about some unexpected problem but poor employee management/inability to notice appoints/leaving the installer by himself to install and handle packing and truck customers... I see the hitch and I about blew a gasket ... I was VERY clear and was assured the hitch wouldn't drop my ground clearance (I will attach a picture -- nm you don't give me the option :( ) close to 3 inches lower than my bumper. I tell the installer I was unhappy with lack of ground clearance (some poor worker bee). And, left to get my dog. I live in rural montana...on dirt roads... I bottomed out on this hitch on my way home (dry roads -- no snow or mud). Just unacceptable. Once I had my dog, and had bottomed out. I was fuming and I figured I'd call for a manager enroute home. Store phone sends me to corporate... Corporates phone tree makes me pick from Uhaul truck rental options. I pick one (cause the tree scolded me for not making an option)...wait on hold for 5 min... Finally, get someone that says "you need the hitch people" and I'm like "no kidding but there was no option" he says "i'm well aware". Clearly hitch folks are a 2nd rate customers to uhaul. So I finally get forwarded to the hitch people... I say I want to leave a message for the manager. He says let me see if I can get him if not he would get a direct message to him. Cool... phone connects to the store, there is no hand off by customer service, corporate just drops the call as soon as someone answers. But it is the poor workerbee and the manager is STILL not there. Left a message with my installer to have the manager call me and tell me how he was going to make it right. I get home and try to enter my complaint details on the uhual concern webpage... I run out of characters not much after describing my first appointment... par for the course... they just don't care to hear. Just avoid this clown show for hitches. Used to be the go to place. :(
Dawn YPick up from this location was fast and friendly. After the paperwork was completed, the trailer was hooked up and lights checked and I was on my way. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, totally recommended.

They have been there when I have needed them. If you want your stuff secure, here's a place to take it. They have clean and ready to go storages. They have trailers, trucks, box trailers and much more cigar. Just go to uhaul and they're ready to go.

I was out Feb 18 and bill wasn't due til March 3..on top of that, the staff was always so rude. When I checked out the guy was so unpleasant and snapped at me for asking questions.

The GM stated the alarm went off on Sunday, why didn't we receive a phone call? We were there on Monday and discovered the missing items. WORSE thing is they would NOT look at camera footage to help solve it. Seems like an inside job.

When I informed him and Brad their barrooms are in the order of a dirty gas station , they got on it - keeping them a bit cleaner; and began getting the outside trash can I front of glass doors , emptied regularly versus always in a state of full- overflowing trash falling onto pavement. Had it not been for Sam since the beginning rental April 2022, I'd have left and also the attentive courteous manager Brad. Anywhere Sam or Brad go, I will patronize their establishment and know I'm well-cared for. Thanks for hiring them - give them a raise so they can afford to live here Susie Cornelia Binkley
