To begin with I have a corporate account, on this rental I had it for 3 days with a total of 75 miles per day which I have proof. The general manager of the store overcharged my credit card for miles necause she said I had 75 miles only which is not on my corporate rate. I tried to explained her, showed her my receipt that said corporate account 3 days 225 miles and she said I was wrong, was very ugly and mean, and called the cops on me. All I wanted was my refund but she didn't want to accept she was wrong. She has no customer service at all. Had to go through multiple employees had a different answer from each one concerning my charges and apparently have been charged twice they said was just a hold on card but my checking account shows that money was withdrawn.delaney J.
Tried to use the 24/7 Mobil pick up- scheduled days in advance for a 7:30 pickup. Employees put a lock they knew was broken on the key lock box. Uhaul customer service by phone was great- polite tried to get General Manager Afton on the phone for help - she NEVER answered her phone. Was then forced to wait until 9 for them to open to try and get keys (I have already been charged for the truck at this time). I was very frustrated at this point. Wait in line get Michelle who tells me she knew the lock was broken but put it on anyway. I start to tell her how upset I was and how we tried to call Afton to get help (she picks up her cell phone and calls General Manager Afton- who then answers the call) they decide that I can't get the truck I already reserved and paid for that I now have to start all over. They pull one from the to be fixed pile and restart all paperwork. I am asking questions at this point about what's going to happen being I've already been charged. And it's a miracle that her General Manager Afton answered the phone. And Michelle then tells me she has the right to NOT rent me a truck because she doesn't like MY attitude!! Then tells me to RESPECT her or she will call the POLICE on me!! I truly wish there some other options in this area for a rental truck I would have definitely gone somewhere else. Talk about a power trip and ZERO customer service-especially when the customer has been inconvenienced by the deliberate actions of employees. I truly hope these employees never have to encounter someone like themselves in a time of need- NO ONE deserves that - things are stressful enough during a move. Truck they gave me to rent was a piece of junk - no AC and shook uncontrollably if you went 40 MPH. RENTERS beware when using this location.CHRISTY T.

The manager at this location I assume is the manager anyway when I rented my unit was absolutely the rudest unprofessional woman I have ever met. So much so I was very uncomfortable with leaving my belongings in the storage unit. Then she over charged me almost 100 dollars I had to call the 1800 number so I could get my money back. The paperwork on the uhaul truck I rented when I rented the unit didn't even match the truck I was given. The woman who I assume was the manager that day 09/30/2022 at around 11:00am when I went in the office to ask what unit number my unit was not only did she not give me the whole number which was building c unit numbers 611-612 she just told be 611 her and her staff actually watched me and my boyfriend and our friend drive around and walk around the whole storage facility for almost 2 hours looking for my unit that was come to find out inside of building c which I was never told after multiple trips inside the office. She and one of her staff actually laughed at us as they just watched us. Some of my belongings I found out when I moved out of the unit where damaged and broken because it took us so long to find the unit without any help from staff we where running out of time alloted for the uhaul truck that we rented a was told couldn't be extended so we couldn't pack our belongings in the unit as they should have been neatly and carefully because doing so we would have had to pay for another day on the uhaul truck. Which the woman tried to do anyway when she overcharged me for the truck anyway. And last but not least after moving out of my unit on 10/29/2022 I was charged 50 dollars for a cleaning fee when I swept out the unit myself when we finished emptying the unit which I have been unable to get refunded back to me. I will never rent from this uhaul again. It was the worst uhaul experience I have ever had. And I will not be recommending this uhaul place to anyone. I know this may seem petty, but I would like to request a refund for $10, as I was charged $19 for fuel, but I only drove 26 miles. Google tells me the uhaul I was driving gets 12 miles to the gallon- so I would've used only 2 gallons of gas. The girl there mentioned fuel cost was $4,8 per gallon (I think specifically she said 4,7-something). That would bring the fuel used out to $9,4 (let's round up to $10 for good measure) I did not leave the vehicle running. I noticed it was not at full when I left but I figured they probably already knew that. With that being said, I would like to be refunded the $9-10 for the fuel that I did not use. :) Everything else was good - service, speed of service, cleanliness, etc.Madison F.

Verify that equipment is in good working condition for day and night travel. The headlights on the unit i used are beyond horrible for night driving. I had to use them on bright to see at all. One light shines into the trees while the other one provides about as much light as a weak flashlight. I was beyond uncomfortable driving at night.Gerald B.

Our van had a low tire but did not notice (nail in tire) until a couple hours after we picked up and we were fully loaded. Returned to the uhaul location for help (with the fully loaded van) and they said to call the road side assistance, the office could not help. We did not have the time to wait for road side assistance (again at the uhaul location) so we returned that van ($45 rental fee for the 2 hours) and had to rent another van and transfer everything in the parking lot. Very much so an inconvenience. Our fault for not thoroughly checking tires prior to leaving . The manager on site was very ugly and not helpful. Her reply was â€œmy shift is ending that's the next managers problemâ€ when asked if there was an easier option/way. All info pre-resistered was of no use. still had to go inside and give info again, which slowed the process. I was quoted 38 miles on the app and I booked it. when I got there it was only 34 miles and a $1 for each mile. Of course, I was ten miles over for some reason. Every time I rent from you there is always a $10 here and after that. I believe your calculation of free miles is a scam to get a few extra dollars out of us. i know your scam.David W.

I arrived at 6:30 for the truck share serviceâ€¦ as per the option onlineâ€¦ however, when I arrived at this Hammond locationâ€¦and began the process, I was notified that it was not set up for that service so I had to wait until 7 am for the location to open. We were on a time crunch for furniture arrival and this set us back about 45 minutes. This would have been important to know ahead of time.Monica B.
The safety chain was missing a hook to connect to the truck. I had to use my own shackle to make the connection. I returned the trailer a full 24 hours prior to required time and was informed that the last day of the rental can NOT be refunded. The only reason I added the extra day because I was afraid I would not remember to call and extend the rental if I was. It going to make it back in time. I don't think this is the location or a facilities problem it's a company policy problem.Elliot S.

We were supposed to pick up at Chef Mentor Hwy. in New Orleans, but they called the day because they didn't have one and assigned us to Tulane Ave. in New Orleans. We got there at 7:00 am and they said that it was not turned in yet. They called around and found one in Hammond, La. which was an hour away. I appreciated the looking around for us, but something has to be done about this part. If they don't have the truck, they should call to let customer know before they get there the next day.Roger R R.

Definitely the worst uhaul experience I've had. Not necessarily this locations fault, but uhaul general. I can't think of a more frustrating reservation practice than contacting you 24 hours before a truck you reserved 1 month ago should be picked up, and tell you that you actually have to drive an hour to pick it up somewhere else. I went from being able to walk to the uhaul I reserved the truck at, to needing to spend 1 hour of my own gas and time to pick up the truck. And the only compensation for this is they â€œgive you free extra milesâ€ to go pick it up LOL. Of course you need to cover those miles, you should be paying for the gas as well but you didn't, and I should be discounted for the massive waste of time. I can't really imagine ever renting a uhaul again and will be sharing this ridiculous experience with others. 1/10NICHOLAS C.

Ronni Kay was my sales person for this. She was friendly and helpful i wanted to look at the storage spaces because i have to see how big they are i cant picture the size. She took me to look and stayed friendly. The only thing i would suggest maybe get a golf cart to ride the walk was a little to much i have a neck injury and its hard to walk that far. I had issues with the truck I rented called roadside assistance and was told that i would be charged if they took the truck from my home back to the location for repair . Talked to roadside again and they told me that there would be no charge to me for service tech to take truck back , but service tech would rather ME take truck back so I explained to he person at roadside assistance that the truck had no steering and there was a brake light flashing and dinging on the truck that I didn't think it was safe for anyone to drive !!! There was a long pause of silence . I then told her fine I would attempt to drive it back but if anything happened it would not be good that i was in a truck with no steering and or brake issues . They then sent the service tech back to pick the truck up from my location after 5 phone calls and several explanations . And I still recieved a FULL amount charge for the rental with all the inconvenience from the entire day I have used uhaul several times in the last year but this was by far the least pleasant use of a rental from uhaul with very inexperienced, unknowledgable, roadside assistance and or / helpWallace C.

Just check mirrors in future. I stopped in on Monday morning your man adjusted and tightened them perfectly! Appreciate that man! Wish I could tell you his name but it was like an efficient pit stop at the Indy 500. Took less than 2 minutes! He is a credit to that location. But everybody was helpful. I felt love me I was overcharged for the truck. The advertisement said $19,95 per day . I wanted to have my whole day and was not allowed to do so. When to worker asked for a discount the manager REFUSED to give me one. I was restricted to 3 hours. I will be contacting Corporate regarding my negative experience. I appreciate the service but the extra charges were not explained. The charge of $15 was agreed on. In the clause it stated that a $5 charge will be applied if the the truck wasn't over 7/8. That was for everything gap. So why was it $15 if I put $10 in it before returning it. It was far from the 7/8 gauge.david G.
The staff seemed distracted and too busy to really help. I went in there the first time looking for an enclosed trailer. I was told there were none available and that I should call 1800 uhaul to find what I was looking for. So we went out to the parking lot and called that number and was told by the online representative that a 20' truck would be a lot less expensive. I asked her where it was located and she told me it was the same location I was sitting at. Why wouldn't they have told me that. Then when I get back in there they didn't explain anything to me about mileage so I didn't know I had a limit. Thankfully I didn't go much over my limit. She didn't go over anything with me. The truck was brought around to me and she didn't even walk around the truck with me at all. Just sent me on my way. I was not impressed with how we were treated at all. Like they didn't have time to help us. I don't care how busy you are - when you work with a customer they should have your undivided attention (with the exception of answering a call if you are the only one there - which she was not alone).susan E.

Stop charging the customer for extra mileage when events occur that are out of their control. Plan was to pickup in Bogalusa and drop off in Hammond. Because there were no available trucks in Bogalusa, had to pickup in Franklinton, go to Bogalusa and then drop off in Hammond. This added extra miles and extra money to be spentEdward S.

Pick up was very easy. They didn't have the appliance dolly that I reserved and they offered me a utility dolly. I couldn't use the utility dolly for my purposes and had to go purchase an appliance dolly. Upon return, I was in the lot, parked and checking out via the 24/7 thing when the lady came out and made me stop the process and move the truck to another location. They would not allow me to complete the return process myself insisting that they do it. As a result I am being charged for a full day more, and a dolly I never had use of, because they didn't have my reserved dolly and they didn't complete the check in until over a half hour after the truck was supposed to be returned. This is super scammy and I am disputing the charges. I have rented from U-Haul several times in the past and have never had these issues. Then again, I never used this location before either.david M.

These people changed the name on a account argued with a customer who was telling them they never showed identification to get the unit. Ran someone else card to pay for the unit they changed the name of & for over a year held onto a storage that was told to them multiple times wasn't needed. If I had more time on my hands I would've filed a lawsuit on this company. I wouldn't rent anything from this company ever in my life. It had a hole in the unit that ruined items. Spoke with multiple people stating I have move out kept calling stating I had the lock still on the storage unit. I took the lock when I moved out so it was a lie . The owner and her staff were excellent. The devastating hurricaine did very little damage to her buildings. There was damage to my unit but it was minimal. Just some water came into the unit from the roof causing a little mold to grow on my furnature. But with a good cleaning it will be fine. Worst U-Haul experience ever. I'd ask for my money back if it didn't take up so much uselessness of my time just trying to communicate with such unprofessionalism. I'll never use uhaul again. I'd rather pay more for a better experience than to experience U-Haul again.
