My booking was at plaintfield and called confirm that I can checking one day later. When I went for storage, they there is no availability and no communication at all. Very poor communication and service. It's worst experience in my life. I never recommend uhaul at all.Paul M. | Online Move In

Manager from hillside location was rude, my uhaul box came late and was held for 1 week at the Oxnard location without my notification. Just an over all bad experience and wouldn't use this company to transport long distance moving again.Charles M.

The gas gage was not accurate. It read full so I I fill up at the gas station paying $27 but only drove 5 miles. I requested a credit on the rental since it was obvious that I did not use that much gas. The attendants on site could could authorized this courtesy understandingly so. I requested to speak to the manager. Was provided her numbers but she did not offer the courtesy either stating that there is no such thing as a low full or high full and customers are not reimbursed for gas.Beverly H.

Overall my Ubox experience from NJ to NC was excellent. The Ubox delivery and pickups were smooth and punctual. The driver/fork lift operators are first class. Especially the female operators. The 6 boxes seem to have brought all of our things from NJ safely ( still unboxing). Only negative is the communication between UHAUL and Moving Help. That was not a positive experience and required me to be on the phone to manage the scheduling of the movers. One on the NJ side (ABM Relocators) was a complete no show with no response from them. I had to pay more to have new movers show up. UHAUL should investigate and fix this operational process or stop offering the moving help service. I paid UHAUL for the service then I was told that I had to deal with Moving Help who are NOT professional.Mark M.

Here's the thing. This was the THIRD place I had to go to after I made a reservation somewhere else and they couldn't help me. The two guys working at this location on Hill Avenue were great. And the guy at 908-248-8548 who helped me rebook after the first two places was also great. They deserve raises. Everything else about this experience with UHaul was fucking awful and I'll never rent from the company again. I'm also telling everyone I know how awful it was and they shouldn't either.Jeffrey H.

This place was one of the cleanest storage I've ever been into and they even had a bathroom that was also clean, the storage space with CLEAN. The workers was very nice and looked like they enjoy their jobs and act like a family. I moved my stuff out of an East Orange storage that was overpriced small unit that was infested with mice I had to leave my living room sofa because of that. Stop overcharging people I've rented from uHaul before to bring things to MA from NJ and this time was fucking highway robbery. Firstly not people's issue if the establishment is short on trucks for a one way trip and trying to double charge for mileage or for dropping a 19,95 small truck a minute after 5 pm time charge was supposed to be 604 even came out to 738 which is bullshitEphraim M.

The billing of it all. I ordered 2 weeks ago a bigger truck and didn't put gas back. Was for 3h. My total amount was 57. Now i order a smaller truck for 2h and put gas back and the total is $68. I don't think the people exactly know what they are doing with the billing and i will dispute the charges with my bank.Gregory C.

I can not thank Danielle enough for all her hard work. She was extremely courteous, understanding, friendly, professional and accommodating. This is my second encounter at this facility. I had my belongings shipped to this facility from California via the U-Box services and I couldn't be more happy with management and the staff. By far the best customer service I have experienced in any storage facility. I've had storage units with other companies but nothing tops what I've experienced at Uhaul as a whole. I think move in procedures need to be explained to customers in a better manner. I wasn't informed that we could drive into the bottom of the storage facility to unload our belongings if we had smaller vehicles. I also wasn't told until the day I moved in they if I had a large Uhaul truck that i couldn't unload in the loading area. I was forced to unload my things then put them back in the truck. An employee said the storage unit isn't supposed to be open yet and they could get shut down by the state if we unloaded in the front. That was incredibly frustrating and wasted our time. We had to then move the truck to a basement entrance and unload in the basement and walk far to an elevator in the dark, unlit basement. The Nj location went smooth but the Dallas location has to improve their overall readiness. My container was not available for me when I sent the moving guys on the day I scheduled to get it in the morning. I had to call up there and speak to a manager to find out why my box is delayed. Process was very confusing. I was given a 1-800 number to call to schedule my corporate move, but apparently I was suppose to be through my representative which seemed to cause a lot of additional confusion. Do not give a 1-800 number and an account number if it can not be used to book a move. The representative called me as soon as my account to was set up to get packing supplies which was great, but didn't hear from them again to book my move (wasn't ready to book my move at the time, because I hadn't even finished the hiring process at the job). Please don't have a 1-800 line with an option to book a move if that causes confusion.Chelsea B.

David was all the time ready to help me with anything I needed since I am moving to new house, he did the same when I moved from my old house to the Uhaul warehouse to stored my thinks because I sold my house. This is the kind of service we need in cases that me. I will say that David is a credit to your business. Also I want to say that Omar the office manager was very profesional and help me to do my moves very easy. I used this office three times so my comments reflect the service is very consistent , helpful and profesional. One of the pods was damaged and I could not lock it the clasp was missing. I had to nail it shut. The pods arrived several days late in NJ and a day late in Florida. Both times, I had to reschedule my helpers who were hired by me at a coast. I would therefore not recommend UHaul in the future.Michael P.

To be clear, (a) I never went to the rental location (b) the staff was somewhat helpful, but seemed very disorganized, (c) the uhaul phone system kept routing my calls to other locations who could not handle a ubox order, (d) the uhaul website is *terrible* for ubox orders. Schedules are viewed as suggestions at most, changes in number of boxes were not reflected, I never could get the gypsy moth online form to work.John Y.
The associate Danielle was extremely helpful and friendly she made a sad experience of putting things in storage bright for me. She was timely thoughtful and walked me through the steps of the lock and access card process. We are still missing a ubox. Our first order was not enough so I called Uhaul to have another ubox. They failed to attach this to our prior Dee even though we discussed how it would change the delivery date of all the boxes. I made it clear they were all going together. All the filled boxes were picked up together but the last one is still not here two weeks later! Customer service assured me several times hat I would not have to pay shipment or delivery on the last box and that it would be delivered right away. Now- delivery is going to be almost a month after the promised delivery date and they're refusing to compensate. The boxes were old and had missing hardware. Never again!janet B.

The containers were not available at the originally requested location. No one notified that the containers will need to be picked up at a farther location causing additional cost and travel time for the moving help company. The 'promised shipment date didn't happen and once again no one notified or updated the online dashboard. At this point there is no date of arrival available anywhere I can see. However, the payment was processed as per schedule. I am truly concerned about my shipment integrity at this point and will be filing insurance claim. This is very disappointing, I expected the reputation of the company to demonstrate better outcomes.Luda F.

The telephone call center told me I could pick up the u-box on Sunday in Hillside. When I got there they said I couldn't pick up the box and had to come back on Monday. When I brought the loaded box back on Wednesday at my appointed time they made me wait for over an hour to disconnect the trailer from my car.Nick C.

Trisha was excellent in helping me find a solution after my expectations were not met. When I originally called customer service, I attempted to book Ubox for deliver to my home in Basking Ridge and then for deliver to New Hope. I turns out the first reservation as expected was deliver to Basking Ridge and I ended up working directly with Trisha to coordinate pick up at that time. However I was under the impression from Customer Service (not Trisha) that I would be able to have my property deliver to New Hope expecting the same price at delivery to Basking Ridge. However it took several calls to finally get someone on the phone and even then I was not able to get a straight reservation for shipment to New Hope, PA. Once I sent an email complaining that I wanted my product shipped to New Hope PA as I understood after the fact that I needed to book a separate reservation, I found out the price to ship my property 30 mins was over $1700. That was not communicated or explained when i set up the initial reservation via customer service on the phone,. Trisha helped by having the Ubox shipped to the warehousre in Ewing which was 30 mins from our home in New Hope, PA. My hubby rented a truck and physically moved them the extra 30 mins. However, if I would have known that was the case we would not have used Ubox and just rented a truck and moved it directly to New Hope, PA at first. There are some specific recommendations for future. Your customer service line has extremely long hold times over 15 mins each time. Once you get someone they forward you to another location and that goes back to the general customer service hold time. There was one of the 7 -9 times that I called and the lady in customer serviced ask me basic questions like where are your Uboxs (when they were storage at Uhaul) and what is the address of the Uhaul location. I was looking at the information on line but it was not clear to me if the boxes were in Hillside or moved to Ewing which is what I was trying to figure out from her when I called. The model could work but I will not recommend at this point given I think the general customer service was not helpful. Trisha who is the GM of the Ubox in Ewing was extremely helpful and the driver was extremely kind and responsible in the pick up and deliver.Kimberly F.

We rented a storage unit at the Hillside NJ facility which was listed as having office hours Sunday 9-5. Further, I called UHaul the week prior to confirm I would be able to move in on Sunday and that there would be someone there to receive me and help me access my unit. Upon arriving the building was completely closed / abandoned. There were no visible signs that it was open / closed / a valid UHaul facility. We walked around the building for an hour and knocked on doors and it was completely vacant. Having no other choice, given we had a full UHaul truck of our belongings, we called the nearest UHaul storage location in Elizabethtown. Had it not been for the manager of that facility, Omar, who drove over and let us in, helped us move and waited for us to finish and lock up, we would have gone to a different moving and storage company. Omar was incredibly helpful and patient and we can't thank him enough. That being said the fact that I was able to reserve a unit for a scheduled move in date at a facility that is abandoned / not occupied on a regular basis is inexcusable. We had paid a lot of money to reserve the storage unit and the truck we filled with our belongings, all of which would have been wasted if not for the kind help of Omar.Alexandra W. | Premières impressions

Danielle was absolutely fantastic! She was informative, helpful, patient and all around made a "not fun" task and end to a long day better. She should be commended and rewarded for her attention to detail, flexibility and hard work to manage such a large operation with many moving parts. I hope her managers realize what a great employee they have and she is compensated accordingly. You don't want to lose her. I checked I am not happy with the hours of the location (8am-4pm) currently, but I assume once the facility opens fully the hours would be extended later.
