Upon return of the rental both renter and U-Haul needs to be able to examine the vehicle. No such opportunity was given and was later told that vehicle was returned with a dent on the rear passenger side which is totally not the case. This appears to me to be a scam which needs to be investigated.

$19,95 is a misrepresentation by Uhaul! Last week I picked a van from this location . Returned it in less than 2 hour. I was charged $51.75. I tried again, took a van for 2 days, returned today. Was charged $219. 57 or so. Mileage charges excessive.

There were no directional signs when driving into the storage area. I drove through the entire unit looking for an exit, I turned around and drove back to the elevator. An angry employee approached me. I explained my situation being 1st time in this facility. She understood then assisted me by getting a lock for my unit.

I reserved my rental online thru the U-Haul app 6 days before my scheduled date of pickup which I figured would be sufficient since it appeared to show what trucks were available at locations near me. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to receive a call 4 days later advising that there were now no trucks available at my selected location to rent. When I asked what was the benefit of making a reservation approximate one week early providing all my details including my credit card info, the call center representative read me a disclaimer telling me I would have checked it off before renting the truck thru the app. I understand that availability may be subject to change but there should be a better internal workflow to make any fluctuations in inventory more transparent to help accommodate your valued customers. While I do appreciate the representative locating another truck for me, I am very disappointed that I had to rearrange my schedule and travel an additional 13 miles each way with tolls when I originally reserved a truck from a U-Haul facility approximately 1 mile from my residence. Ultimately, the truck was great and the service I received from the Hillside location was fine, but in the interest of full transparency, I am not confident that I can rely on the U-Haul brand for my next one way truck rental.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences EVER. First, I saw I was being charged for two boxes. Then, the moving help did not come the first time. Then, I saw I was being charged rent even after my box was returned - a situation that persisted for three weeks until it was finally resolved yesterday (after I had received multiple delinquency notices and had already called customer service/u-haul reps 13 times, nine calls to the main customer service line and 4 to various locations I was transferred to, in addition to the 5 calls it took to figure out things with moving help) . However, the resolution involved me getting texts that I had a new box, and receiving charges for a new box (which have now been cleared). When I complained to customer service about the new charges on U-Haul cares on Twitter, they said "The message was for the move out of the container processed today by the center. I am sorry that this caused confusion to you but the container is no longer listed as stored or occupied. -Rob" which REALLY put a bad taste in my mouth - apologize for ALL THE THINGS U-HAUL put me through over the last three weeks, and the fact that I had to waste my time and energy on making all those calls, the fact that I had to worry my credit score would be impacted by the delinquency charges, the fact that it seemed there was no one who was able to get these charges dropped (which even remained after the first time U-haul claimed to have fixed my problem), and the fact I was starting to look into lawyers and reported U-haul to the BBB. To then be told that U-haul is sorry THAT SENDING ME MORE CHARGES caused "caused confusion to" me was like salt in a very sore wound. What an awful way to end a pretty nightmarish moving experience. Would you not have freaked out if the company that had been trying to charge you FOR WEEKS for services you were not using posted new, fake charges to you?

Pick up was great and the workers were very reassuring when I was nervous about the process bc I had never done this before. The lady who assisted me explained everything and it all made sense. But now I've been charged extra fuel fees when that should not have been the case, and I am overwhelmed and crying because of it. The whole experience feels tainted now and I cannot and will not recommend this to people when the experience now makes me sick to my stomach.

My booking was at plaintfield and called confirm that I can checking one day later. When I went for storage, they there is no availability and no communication at all. Very poor communication and service. It's worst experience in my life. I never recommend uhaul at all.

The gas gage was not accurate. It read full so I I fill up at the gas station paying $27 but only drove 5 miles. I requested a credit on the rental since it was obvious that I did not use that much gas. The attendants on site could could authorized this courtesy understandingly so. I requested to speak to the manager. Was provided her numbers but she did not offer the courtesy either stating that there is no such thing as a low full or high full and customers are not reimbursed for gas.

Overall my Ubox experience from NJ to NC was excellent. The Ubox delivery and pickups were smooth and punctual. The driver/fork lift operators are first class. Especially the female operators. The 6 boxes seem to have brought all of our things from NJ safely ( still unboxing). Only negative is the communication between UHAUL and Moving Help. That was not a positive experience and required me to be on the phone to manage the scheduling of the movers. One on the NJ side (ABM Relocators) was a complete no show with no response from them. I had to pay more to have new movers show up. UHAUL should investigate and fix this operational process or stop offering the moving help service. I paid UHAUL for the service then I was told that I had to deal with Moving Help who are NOT professional.

Here's the thing. This was the THIRD place I had to go to after I made a reservation somewhere else and they couldn't help me. The two guys working at this location on Hill Avenue were great. And the guy at 908-248-8548 who helped me rebook after the first two places was also great. They deserve raises. Everything else about this experience with UHaul was fucking awful and I'll never rent from the company again. I'm also telling everyone I know how awful it was and they shouldn't either.

I can not thank Danielle enough for all her hard work. She was extremely courteous, understanding, friendly, professional and accommodating. This is my second encounter at this facility. I had my belongings shipped to this facility from California via the U-Box services and I couldn't be more happy with management and the staff. By far the best customer service I have experienced in any storage facility. I've had storage units with other companies but nothing tops what I've experienced at Uhaul as a whole. I think move in procedures need to be explained to customers in a better manner. I wasn't informed that we could drive into the bottom of the storage facility to unload our belongings if we had smaller vehicles. I also wasn't told until the day I moved in they if I had a large Uhaul truck that i couldn't unload in the loading area. I was forced to unload my things then put them back in the truck. An employee said the storage unit isn't supposed to be open yet and they could get shut down by the state if we unloaded in the front. That was incredibly frustrating and wasted our time. We had to then move the truck to a basement entrance and unload in the basement and walk far to an elevator in the dark, unlit basement. It was probably the most frustrating move in that I've had to deal with at any storage facility.

They charge me a month that I was told that I was advise won't be a charge, after I moved out I continue to get letters that I had a bill and a rep called me saying I had a balance due and I w was s late, I didn't have a unit any more. But whoever Rob me will have to answer to God

David was all the time ready to help me with anything I needed since I am moving to new house, he did the same when I moved from my old house to the Uhaul warehouse to stored my thinks because I sold my house. This is the kind of service we need in cases that me. I will say that David is a credit to your business. Also I want to say that Omar the office manager was very profesional and help me to do my moves very easy. I used this office three times so my comments reflect the service is very consistent , helpful and profesional. I will use anytime I will need it and recommend to my friends.

Daneisha Brown was very nice with excellent customer service skills. She was very helpful with great knowledge of the business. Her tour of the facility was wonderful. She took her time to explain everything we needed to know and made sure we comprehend the entire access process. I would highly recommend uhaul storage.

The time is not good , not enough time staying open . You guys closed at 5pm . Really not good abs you can't check in with the office open .. not good.

Accessing the facilities is difficult, I once went on a Sunday and the employees keys did not work. I could not access my unit. There is a lot of humidity and lot of dust.

The girls that helped were great i busy work someone would have mentioned I can only access my unit until 7:00 pm. And not 10:00 pm

We rented a storage unit at the Hillside NJ facility which was listed as having office hours Sunday 9-5. Further, I called UHaul the week prior to confirm I would be able to move in on Sunday and that there would be someone there to receive me and help me access my unit. Upon arriving the building was completely closed / abandoned. There were no visible signs that it was open / closed / a valid UHaul facility. We walked around the building for an hour and knocked on doors and it was completely vacant. Having no other choice, given we had a full UHaul truck of our belongings, we called the nearest UHaul storage location in Elizabethtown. Had it not been for the manager of that facility, Omar, who drove over and let us in, helped us move and waited for us to finish and lock up, we would have gone to a different moving and storage company. Omar was incredibly helpful and patient and we can't thank him enough. That being said the fact that I was able to reserve a unit for a scheduled move in date at a facility that is abandoned / not occupied on a regular basis is inexcusable. We had paid a lot of money to reserve the storage unit and the truck we filled with our belongings, all of which would have been wasted if not for the kind help of Omar.

Danielle was absolutely fantastic! She was informative, helpful, patient and all around made a "not fun" task and end to a long day better. She should be commended and rewarded for her attention to detail, flexibility and hard work to manage such a large operation with many moving parts. I hope her managers realize what a great employee they have and she is compensated accordingly. You don't want to lose her. I checked I am not happy with the hours of the location (8am-4pm) currently, but I assume once the facility opens fully the hours would be extended later.
