With the current self serve environment clearer and more complete instructions would help. What was posted at the location on the door was not sufficient to complete the mobile checkin of truck. The local phone number seemed to route the call to an off-site call center. Had to work with two people, both of who had trouble hearing me. But I do applaud the patience and care the 2nd operator gave me in walking me through the checkin which was extensive (I assume and hope because it was my first time using the mobile link). I was prepared to do the mobile return, but that too seemed like it was going to be a process. Fortunately I was saved this grueling ordeal by the owner.

Very efficient--was greeted by Uhaul personnel who directed me where to park, unhooked the trailer, and checked the trailer in--this was done in a few minutes. I never had to set-foot in the office, no wait, was in and out in 5 minutes. Arrived 15 minutes before closing. Couldn't be more pleased. Excellent experience.

There is absolutely no customer service standards inside the Store. Only 1 person I’ve dealt with there has any idea what customer service means. I’m astonished even when I brought this up to the store manager he didn’t even seem to care When they have someone that is standing inside, In front of the service desk for 10 mins, waiting to be acknowledged let alone waited on then you have some major customer service issues in that store. When someone walks in for Customer Service, if the only available employee is with someone and there’s no one else to help I expect to be at least acknowledged, hopefully told someone will be with you shortly or that you will be with me when you finish with the customer you have at the moment. It’s customer service 101. I don’t expect to stand in the lobby and listen to 1 of the female employees talking to a child about the things that are going to be in HER new house?! I don’t expect anyone under 18 is taking a place in line for customer service at all. Which is exactly why you would think when the situation itself looks inappropriate or like they’re just sitting there ignoring you while you’re standing there pretty much being ignored, that they would make sure to address you’re seen and they’ll be with you after they finish with the “customer ” they’re waiting on or as soon as someone can be out. You don’t just see a customer waiting and say nothing at all.

Even though I reserved and checked in on-line the check in process took way too much time, need to improve this process. Quote the accurate prices upon pick up and provide accurate information. I was told I could return the truck to any Uhaul dealer which was incorrect. I might recommend since the gentlemen with whom I returned the truck resolved most of my issues.

The 800 service had canceled the size of trailer without informing me - when I showed up at the Hyannis location, that is when I found out. The service team were super helpful in trying to resolve and fix the issue that had been handed to them. They kindly searched for options and resulted in an acceptable fix. Kudos to the Hyannis team and shame on the 800 UHaul representative that messed things up in the first place.

Computer systems (presumably nationwide) were down thus UHAUL was unable to process any credit card activity. After an hour plus, UHAUL employees said they could process transactions should any customer have cash. That said, I gave them cash and when doing so, they then said, I had to give a deposit of $100 in addition to the fees for the truck because I was paying cash. Fortunately I had enough cash with me but I thought asking me to pay additional $100 for deposit because I was paying cash because UHAUL systems were not functioning was inappropriate. In other words, UHAUL applied a punitive assessment on a customer because the customer is trying to overcome a company problem. To make matters worse, the seat was not properly bolted to the floor and rocked and moved while driving. I received the truck with presumably an 1/8 of a tank of gas .... unfortunately, the truck was on “E” and stalled out of gas before I made it to the pump. Needless to say, having to get a gas can to then make it to the pump and put $63 of gas was not a good start to the move.

The location is confusing. They need better signs by the road. And need to be clearer about the procedure for returning the truck. The person checking us in was very friendly and helpful.

When I has to return the vehicle after hours I had no idea how to use the web or app to return and because of that was charged more money. The truck I received was extremely difficult to start. On two occasions, I needed to ask my son to start it. On another, when my son was not present and neither the steering wheel and gear shift could be moved, I had to call road side assistance who gave me instructions for starting the truck. On all occasions, the truck never started on the first attempt. When I dropped off the truck in Natick, the person there asked me about my experience, and when he got in the truck, he said there was a problem with the gear shift and that the truck needed service immediately. On the positive side the truck ran well and it was clean and people in Hyannis were friendly and helpful.

I couldn't see out the passenger side window because of lettering stuck all over the window stating Hyannis Uhaul. I had to walk 50 yards in 18 degree weather to get to the van I was renting, while there were several vans parked 10 yards away facing the street.
