I rented the truck at 8am on a Saturday and retuned it Sunday at 9am as soon as the store opened. There was a line of 10 people so I was instructed to leave keys on seat. I was charged an extra day even though I was there at opening. There was 20 trucks in the lot so it's not like you lost a day. I won't use U-Haul again

Vishal T.I give this poor review for 2 reasons. First the two gentlemen were rude, complained, and were annoyed, with the fact that I came in for the reservation I booked 2 weeks in advance, a half hour early, when they had 6 - 26ft. Trucks avaliable. Secondly both Trucks that I rented were in unsafe operation. I drove the first one 3 ft. Went inside to exchange, for the second garage vehicle. So they both had severe engine miss fires and severe exhaust leaks. Also going down the highway faster then 40 produced the death wobble in the front end of the truck became the suspension was bad. So moral of the story is if you want courteous employees, who would like to serve and assist the customer then make sure there is at least 4 employees on inside or don't bother. Secondly if you want to ride in a safe truck, you probably will have to choose another co. Do to the fact that alot of the equipment needs to be updated, unless you need only a pickup.

JEFFrey L.I reserved a pickup time online for 8:30. But the location didn't open until 9:00. A worker was there, but he was busy checking in the vehicles left after hours. He was very polite, but I'm guessing he was as frustrated as we were. Why do you allow people to reserve a pickup time when the store is closed??? Ridiculous. I do NOT blame the man working there. I blame corporate for allowing this to happen. I wouldn't have minded picking it up a 9 if I had been told. But my husband and I were there shortly before 8:30 because we wanted to be on time. We had our son who has a disability with us. The plan was for my husband to pick it up and for my son and I to go to Special Olympics practice. But your system threw a wrench into our plans. An AVOIDABLE wrench. Please fix your website so that people can't be given a pickup time that doesn't exist. Merci.

Now I have to fight uhaul to get my money back for that day. Another thing on my long list of things to do. Very annoying.

Candace O.The professionalism and diligence of the two employees at the counter on Sunday, Aril 24 saved us from what would nave been a much more aggravating experience. We, like many other customers, were unable to upload our license photos. Apparently there is no reception for AT&T and Verizon in your Hyannis building. I twice went out to the parking lot in an effort to upload the photo, but even that failed. I strongly advise that you devise an alternative way of recording a customer's driver's license information. Instituting your new online process, when it clearly often doesn't work, makes no sense.
Sharon M.I had an excellent experience with U-Haul from beginning to end...I could not be more pleased! The only thing that I would say needs a little tweaking is the communication for new customers. I was not familiar with the process and initially did not realize I had to make an appointment to access my container which was being held at the Hyannis location site. It was my understanding from the store employees that I could access the container anytime during store hours, however the scheduling office stated that I needed a reservation. I think that there wasn't clear communication between the store employees and the central office. In the end, we figured it out and all went well.
Maria D.BEWARE!!! I was supposed to pick up the truck at a location close to my home, but was informed the truck would only be available at a location that was 16 mi out of my way. When I picked up the truck it clean, but very old - 170K miles - and drove like it. Additionally, the fuel tank was almost empty. I put 10 gal of fuel in and my move went well otherwise. I returned the vehicle with the same amt of fuel in the tank. I pointed this out to the person that received the truck and was told I was all set. However, Upon reviewing my receipt, I was charged a $30 fuel service fee and $44 for 8 gal of fuel. I have been on hold with customer service for over to an hour to get a resolution.

You automatically direct people to use the app and the nightmare begins. As I said in the review.. Fire the team you have developing it and file a lawsuit for negligence. Id be willing to bet you could get better results for the app from a troop of middle school kids than what you have now. You should be embarrassed of it. So what you can to to improve for the next customer is shut it down.. Listen to the 9000.... NINE THOUSAND +... CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE ALREADY SAID THE APP IS GARBAGE AND Fix IT.

I know times are crazy and we just got through a rough couple of years with Covid, but now more than ever, we need better customer service, and yes it definitely goes both ways, customers need to have patience and respect too. most importantly if your in the Buisness of customer service, then put the extra effort in the said “customer service†or maybe it isn't the profession for you. Sean L.When checking in online, we waited 45 minutes with no updates, including when using the chat function. We finally called and were placed on hold. When we finally heard back, they had to do an additional check and call a family member or friend. After finally checking in close to an hour after starting the process, the key combination the online check in process gave us did not open the lock. We were able to get help from a person at this location because they had opened by now. They checked and confirmed the combination given to us during online check in was incorrect. They were able to open it for us and the key was stuck on the bolt inside and unable to be reached. The entire process took over and hour, we were placed on hold multiple times, and no step along the way went according to plan.

When i got to the unit there had been clear damage to the front door. The handle was completely rusted and i was (and still am) unable to access the unit. There was also a giant dead Hawk lying right next to the unit. When i called to find an alternative unit nothing was available. I had to find storage with another company. I will be cancelling this reservation and expect a refund for the first months fees as i have been unable to access the unit entirely.
