They moved very slowly. Then I had to walk all the way around the corner to another building to pick up the vehicle, after I waited in line for 30 minutes, and not to mention I have a broken toe, so that was too much for me. Then on top of that the helpers I hired through uhaul was a no show no call, ruined my whole weekend and move. Then uhaul keeps saying g it isn't their fault. Well you shouldn't be able to book them through your site if they aren't reliable.

I highly recommend making the key drop much much more visible. I spent 20 minutes looking for it. The supposed photo of the key drop box on the app was completely inaccurate and had me looking for a yellow post.

Not charge a customer for an extra day rental if they return a few minutes after they say they will. A daily rental is just that, not 5 hours. I was just charged an extra day on 2 vans returned yesterday. Very unhappy and I rent a couple times a week. Will be looking for other options now.

The staff should be willing to answer questions and help their customers without getting annoyed. It was the first time I rented a truck but workers seem to be in a rush even when there were no other customers. Also, i was told both on the phone and at the front desk that my foreign license was enough but when I actually wanted to rent the thing, they said it was in invalid (that is the same license i use to rent any car) so I had to improvise and ask a friend to drive for me. The staff didn't care nor provided solutions. I will never come back nor i would recommend this place to anyone.

Manager Osmond was most accommodating when we first rented unit in May 2013. The staff has been helpful and this location is convenient. Kudos to this location's manager Osmond ( service oriented ALWAYS). The location is well kept and clean. Thank you Loyal customer, Frann Robertson

The rearview mirror cover on the passenger side was broken and fell every time we open and close the door. We left it inside the vehicle. When we returned the vehicle, the agent accused us of having broken it without even wanting to listen to us. He was quite aggressive. We asked to speak to the manager, waited for more than 30 min but she never came. They wrote an accident report and charged $150 for a rearview mirror that we haven´t broken. The customer service at this location is simply unacceptable.

The reservation process sucks. They tried to get me to go to suitland Maryland and then to a different location in DC, where they didn't actually have the equipment available. The location I ended up at was great but the overall process sucked

Have clear conditions and terms and not switch up my pick up and drop off locations right before i make a reservation. This is obviously a scam and then deemed as “user error” even tho my original terms and rates were based off pick up and drop off at 2 different locations. Very unprofessional and I will never be issuing Uhaul again, as well as making sure everyone knows how U-haul truly operates. And no fault is on location employees, they were lovely, the fault is on the website that switches what customers put in without any notice.

I was supposed to be able to pick up my 15 foot truck at 8:30am. I then had to wait until 9 and stand in line. It turned out the truck I was supposed to use wasn't returned. After waiting and waiting, they finally got me a truck. When I asked if I could get a discount since they screwed up so badly, they said they would look at it. But I got crap. The fact that I didn't leave the U-Haul until after 9:25 messed up the whole day and move. I will never use U-Haul again and tell all my friends to use Penske. Terrible experience.

I live out of state and used the 5th St location for the second time and both times the entire staff was very professional and helpful. Jerome was thorough and explained the process including mileage and additional fees. When we returned the truck Charles assisted us and he was also very professional and courteous making sure I understood the inspection process and immediately emailed a receipt. Both gentlemen represented Uhaul in a very professional manner and deserve special recognition. I would definitely recommend this location! Special thanks to Charles for the hand sanitizer.

Policies did not match what I was told by a u haul representative about the same equipment at a different location and was a complete waste of time to have an answer to my situation. This experience was noted in the account. Training in policies would mean that your customers will always be informed correctly and keep professional service integrity especially for returning customers.

I completed the online move in process and called the location to purchase 24/7 access since I had to move in after hours. When I arrived at the location, the code that was given to me did not grant me access to the facility even though they said I would have 24 hour access. I tried calling the general manager but was sent straight to voicemail every time I called. I eventually was able to talk to customer service but they informed me that they couldn't do anything except try to contact the general manager of the facility. I was not happy with this response so I asked to speak with a supervisor. After telling the customer service agent that I wanted to speak with a supervisor they put me on hold and then came back and asked me to try the code again. It worked. Something occurred behind the scenes after I had to literally ask for a supervisor to get anything to happen. My experience with U-Haul recently has been extremely disappointing and has required way too much effort to make using their services worth it.

They made me buy these special locks for my unit, then when i tried the key for the lock, it wouldn't unlock it. I called them to cut the lock for me and they refused, they lied to me and told me they don't do that anymore. So when I opted to cut my own lock, i stead of paying for a locksmith, they got upset with me and decided to cut my lock for me, after they told me they don't do that anymore. Also one of the storage units was filled with webs and spiders and there was a water leak that destroyed my mattress, causing me to throw it out, an expensive mattress. It also rusted out my workout metal equipment. My wife and I experienced lots of attitude from these people from day one, from several different employees. Would not ever recommend this place to anyone.

Their system was broken so they couldn't complete the rental process for me. I had to complete it on my phone. Then, my access code wouldn't work and they couldn't fix it because the system was malfunctioning. Then, all of the elevators were broken so they had to change my unit to one on the first floor because there were no elevators that we could use to access the other levels. And because they couldn't get my access code to work, I had to have someone stay inside the building at all times to trigger the automatic door so we could re enter the building to fill my storage unit. The staff were helpful but the facility is so poorly maintained to cause all these problems. Overall, an hour of my time was wasted after I had spent 10 hours in 90 degree weather moving and loading my truck. I would never choose to use u haul storage again after this experience.

We were not given clear instructions for moving in since we also had a big moving truck to maneuver. This was not taken into consideration. Also the elevator was broken. The security alarm kept going off too which was very annoying.

Once the unit was vacant, my credit card got charged. I called to ask for the charge to be canceled. I was only sent a receipt of the charge. So, I follow up again, and said that the unit is vacant, send the refund to my card! Then, in the follow up, they were like, "Oh it's been refunded!" I was like, well, "send me a receipt of the charge being refunded!" Then they did. Real talk, if the receipt of the refund was initially sent, then I wouldn't have made multiple stressed out phone calls to ask for the refund receipt. Just saying. But other than that, everything was super clean, really nice, nice staff. It's a Uhaul.

We got stuck with higher level unit and were showed a metal ladder in the office that appeared stable. When we brought our stuff in, however, we discovered the metal ladders near the storage unit were very rickety, unstable and open ended. If was very dangerous for the men involved in the move and we were just lucky no one got injured. Please please to the management, examine each ladder and try to climb up them with a box and a mattress and see how you do, then put two people on the ladder hoisting stuff and see how it goes. Very disappointed and planning to do negative reviews in multiple social media locations if my concerns aren't responded to.

This storage place was very easy for me because I didn't have to go from one U-Haul place to another.this was very better to get everything in one spot. the people was nice very pleasant I never had a problem. yeah I will recommend friends. The only reason I said no to the access hours is because the building I have a unit in isn’t 24 hours yet and I really need access to my tools around the clock due to my field of work.

Everything was easy except for finding the storage space. The number I was given(10476) and the number of my unit does not match the number on the site maps (10479) it was very hard to find the unit.

Mice urine and rodents were all in my storage unit which severely damaged my items stored. The unit was wet and caused my items to have mold grow on it despite me adequately wrapping furniture in plastic, the furniture still ruined. I will NEVER use this storage or any other UHAUL location storage again, totally disappointing and an unhappy customer.

Overall, this is a very nice facility. My unit is in the new building which is super clean and modern, so that was really nice. But the online check-in process was a mess. I checked in online the night before and got my unit number and access code, but upon arriving to the facility, found it very unclear as to how I actually access my unit. There were 3 call boxes on the wall with no indication as to which one I needed to use. When I tried the call box that seemed to be the correct one, I got a message saying "access denied, not checked in" even though I already checked in online. Thankfully, the employee in the office was a HUGE help as she walked over with me and showed me that I first need to "check in" again by entering my access code into a different box, then needed to dial my code in again at the main call box to actually open the door. There were zero signs or placards that indicated this on the wall, so I would have never figured that out. She then walked me over to my unit only to find that it wasn't ready for move-in. The facility padlock was still on the door and the free disc lock that was supposed to come with the unit was not inside the unit. The funny thing is, I had already purchased a disc lock at the location I picked up my truck from from because they told me (incorrectly) that a free one does NOT come with my unit. The wonderful employee yet again took care of me and made sure I got a refund for the lock I had purchased earlier. So in other words, had I relied on the online check-in process and arrived at the unit after the office had already closed, I would have been TOTALLY screwed because I absolutely would not have been able to get into my unit. Again, the very friendly and helpful lady in the office saved the day for me, explained everything, and got me all squared away, so the overall 4 star rating is thanks to the great staff and the fact that the condition of the facility and unit is really nice. Everything would have otherwise been smooth but it appears there is serious lack of coordination and communication when checking in online (I had similar problems when I went to pick up my truck at another location despite already checking in online and opting for mobile pick-up). If the office/store weren't still open, this could have been a total disaster that would have left me stranded. Shout out to the wonderful staff member that took initiative to get me all squared away. She turned a frustrating experience into a positive one.

Excessive water leakage at container 1326. The requirement to buy their lock for the container is unacceptable. Paid for the month of September and terminated the contract on 17 Sep without prorated credit. This is also unacceptable. Please rectify these issues.

I loved the staff at this U-Haul location!! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Any issue that presented itself that day was well taken care of. I will definitely recommending this location for future moving and storage needs.

I stored my belongings here for 8 months. The only downside is that I was not aware that there are units stacked on top of one another. Be sure to clarify where your unit will be before deciding on a unit. Otherwise, the facility is clean and well maintained.

The power outage on 8/15 caused me to incur a $200 change from the moving company I hired to assist with my move. Previous storage facilities I have worked with who have promised certain access hours have a generator in case utility outages occur. I understand the utility caused this outage but the storage facility is ultimately responsible for customers being able to access their belongings during the days and times as promised in the customer agreements. I was extremely dissatisfied with how this outage was handled by UHaul storage.
