I'm am so irritated with uhaul and all of their nonsense fees. Taylor (the manager at Uhaul in Jackson, TN on airways is a horrible manager. I have never been charged an after hours drop off fee. She keeps shouting contract this, contract that but honestly I've never read it because why would I need to? I've always thought hey, don't wreck their truck and put the gas back in it it. Boom! That's all. I'll never rent from this location again. I feel they intentionally leave out info when you're leasing so they can charge you extra fees. When the black guy was in charge, I NEVER EVER had any issues. He would have told me everything up front.

I submitted the following email narrative on 2 Aug but have yet to receive any reply. Three weeks ago I reserved a 20' truck for pick up in Dyersburg TN on July 29, one way to Crestview FL, total cost of $798 (which included furniture dolly, utility dolly, and furniture pads). On July 28 at 7 PM as I was on a plane to TN, I got a text from UHaul saying that a truck was unavailable for pick up the next morning and someone from uhaul would contact me. Nobody from Uhaul contacted me. As a result, I called UHaul and got a 15' truck 75 miles away which I picked up and was charged almost $1200, which did not include my requested dollies. The customer line was 10 deep and took me 45 minutes to finally get processed. In addition, the truck had a hole in the muffler and was EXTREMELY loud in the cab. So loud I had to purchase ear plugs for the 8 hour trip back to Florida. At a minimum, I would like a refund of the $400 difference between what I was guaranteed three weeks ago and what I had to pay at an alternate location. UHaul not only cost me money but time and inconvenience. Despite these trying economic times, people need a reliable way to move. Unfortunately, UHaul has not been able to provide that. First of all I had reservations in Southaven, MS. at A quality transmission. Lady said she didn't have one available even with reservation. Said she couldn't find one for us to cancel. Horrible customer service. Went to Jackson Tennessee location they were friendly but the truck AC didn't work and they wouldn't swap trucks for me. The truck I had was very dirty inside and out. I've used uhaul for years and this was my first negative experience

The issue I had was with the truck. The rear tires were worn and should have been replaced thousands of miles earlier. However the truck preformed ok and drove as I expected. But I consider myself lucky to have made the trip without serious problems arising from the tires. They were UNSAFE, more so than I realized when I picked the truck up. I think its obvious what you can do to improve. Not happy at all with this company, I take my safety seriously and apparently you don't.

I received the vehicle with a check engine light on, when I brought it to the attention of the gentlemen cleaning the vehicles…. He said it's nothing to worry about all of them have check engine lights on. Of course that doesn't help the case because it's a 26' truck and we were traveling 1,5 hours so I couldn't afford for it to break down and have to deal with all of that since we hired movers and we're on a schedule. At this point I go inside to tell the lady that rented it to me and she had a puzzled look on her face where she just agreed with the other gentlemen. Didn't offer to switch me into the other 26' truck. Basically told me sorry deal with it. This needs to be addressed because thankfully it didn't break down on me but every time I hit a bump on I40 all kinds of lights came on the dashboard. If the vehicle would've broke down on me, would somebody have came to me , unloaded one truck to the other ? Probably not. Worst uhaul experience I've ever had

I took pictures when I picked the uhaul up with a quarter tank. It said it had 3/8s but the guy said it wouldn't be a big deal and when I dropped it off I got charged for fuel.

The initial 20' truck was loud after starting it, and could tell that no one cleaned it, in or outside. I called customer support to receive another truck with no issue. The front desk representative was working alone, without any help, and it was a very busy morning. I understand she was doing the best she could, all while keeping a positive attitude.

I don't think I can fairly rate this location. We dropped our trailer off after closing time, so the only thing I could rate would be the state of the parking lot. It's big.

Remained under the awning for about 5 minutes since it was still opened store hours but no one had come to help assist with my return. Became impatient and started to do an online return and it was walking me through the steps of taking the trailer off. I had gotten all the way to loosening the ball attachment before the girl inside came out and asked me to go park somewhere else in the parking lot to return the equipment because if I left it at the awning she would not be able to move it to the spot herself although I know the have equipment to help with that. I had to reattach everything and retighten the ball to move the trailer to “somewhere over there” where she had pointed.

The representative I dealt with initially was name Janelle she was amazing and very kind!! However I returned my rental one day early on May 29th and it wasn't due until May 30th. I was still charged another day and a late fee because they did not load it into the system until Tuesday May 31st. I called to inform the managyof this issue, she was very rude. I still not have been refunded my money even after they noticed it wasn't my fault and that it was in error no apologies or anything. Poor customer service skills. It's been a week after I've informed and still no refund or communication on my refund.

It’s not made clear of what charges you will receive and they pop up with them randomly so basically online booking is pretty much useless and unreliable.

First problem was my truck was double booked I had to stop the second customer from driving off with my reservation. The only good thing that came out of this rental was Richard the gentleman getting the trucks ready. He stopped the customer in his tracks an rerouted him to a Box truck. He has Amazing people skills and genuinely care about the mix up. Which as a customer with tons of rental competition around... you'd think the Manager would have been friendly but far from it.

Could spend a little more time on cleaning windows. Drivers side had the remains of a parking ticket sticker that we had to clean off. Windshield was streaked and had some sort of film/haze that made it hard to see when facing the sun. Paperwork from previous renter left in glove box. Overall, nice truck, drove well, good gas mileage.

Return canopy does not function well when you return in the rain. You get as wet under the canopy as you do when not under the canopy.

The first 20-foot U-Haul we were assigned had been in an accident, cab was dirty, left-over trash from last renter, only a quarter of a tank of gas, and right back inside tire was flat. The upgrade, 26-foot U-Haul had check engine light on. The lady reset it only to have it come back on halfway through our move.

Make sure the wiring fits before letting a customer leaves, I had to drive close behind the trailer cause there was no single or break lights. Also i got charge another 30 bucks because I wasn't told about having it checked in, yes it was on the contract, the girl highlighted something's but not that and didn't say anything about it. So I called to ask why i got charged because it was back the same day at like 9pm. The girl on the phone was rude and all she would say is its on the contract. I was very unhappy plus it cause me to have an overdraft in my bank, so i got charged another 35 bucks for that.

First of all your manager Taylor is nice. But staff behind the counter has a bad attitude. It's already a struggle trying to move without somebody giving you a van to on top of it. One Tony loading the trailer wasn't secured on the wall. And it fell off my truck. Another time Ubox was turned backwards. I had to take it back so they can switch it around the next day

Initially, we were over charged for equipment that wasn't available and on the gas estimate. When we returned the truck, the agent who assisted us reversed the overages. The first agent was more interested in flirting with the guy before us, rushed through the rental and made multiple mistakes. The agent that closed our contract was focused and very helpful.

These people who worked there are scammers. I rented uhaul trucks many times in past from different locations never had this horrible experience in my life. After dropping off the truck I received an email saying I got charged $204 that includes after hours fee( when I dropped it off around 1:30pm) then she marked gas tank empty on my bill and charged me $90 for gas. Even though I filled the gas and had the receipt. So I went back to the location and told that lady what's going on and she try to tell me that the truck was empty so I asked her to check it again in front of me, so we did, and it clearly had gas in it from me filling it, but she still wasn't admitting it. I ended up talking to the manager for refund on those extra charges but he only refund me for gas and still charge me for after hour fee. Never going to this location again or recommending anyone also.

Your employer lied to me. I had a truck reservation until 2pm I call and ask how much it would be if I kept it till 3pm she said as long as I had it back by 2:30pm there would be no additional charges. I returned at 2:30pm and I was charged. This was not acceptable since I was told there wouldn't be a charge.

The girl that took care of the rental paperwork was fantastic, great energy, very pleasant to deal with. I think she was the manager. This was the best experience I've ever had at uhaul and that is saying a lot because I rent frequently. Thank you soo much.

Online IS NOT the way to go. They got my order wrong. Customer service at the Jackson, TN (pick up) location was excellent. But online did NOT place my order as requested. Gave me a larger truck and put in system. You need to check on Airways location. I waited 3 days for the guy to call me back AND HE NEVER did. The lady answered phone said she was new and didn't have a price list so he would call me back AND HE NEVER DID. I WAS CHARGED $15 for gas and we put gas BACK in truck. AND we only used truck about 6 hours, turned in early (as I told online I would do). It was a MESS FOR AT THE END IF RENTAL.

Y'all ripped me off from the rental of my truck for three days and 50 miles to the tune of $800 to selling my storage without contacting me. I'm livid I never received notice until it was already sold? I'm preparing a press release today for several media platforms. I was told I was put on auto pay.i wanted to prepay but was told not I couldn't bc I was on autopay I was not and was charged a late fee I paid the fees and the next day came to close my storage account as I said I would when I paid. The lock was still on the unit despite being paid up. Office staff said they were uhaul and storage guy wasn't in She had an attitude about having to remove the lock storage unit contained water damage from previous leak and a rat trap. Won't be back. Wouldn't recommend. I've had other storage units on auto pay without problems. Not sure what the drama is with this location. When I paid Wednesday, two more people pulled up as I was leaving complaining of the same thing so apparently it's a common occurance.

The people were not personable at all. They didn't tell me that I had to have a certain type of lock on my storage unit. I put my own on there and came back the next day, they had put their own lock on there and didn't give me the keys untill I paid for the lock. No warnings that they would be putting a lock on there. Pretty much was robbed of my stuff untill I bought their lock. Horrible experience but the storage unit was clean.

The car dolly that we rented to go from Port St. Lucie Florida to Jackson Tn was portly repaired in the past. The passenger side lights on the dolly didn't work and The wheel well was rubbing on the tire and ate a hole in the wheel well and carved a valley in the tire 2/3 of the way through the trip. The issue added a lot of extra, unneeded stress to an already stressful move. The dolly should have never been issued out at it was not legal for travel on the roads. I will never recommend UHaul again.

In spite of strange circumstances, such as wildlife in the store, the employees handled all of my issues (like running out of space and needing another unit, needing a truck a second day, etc.) with a smile. Je referais appel à lui.

They girl that helped us (Kiki?) was super helpful but she had to call her manager for help because it wouldn't let her check us in and her manager said I'm busy doing something and she said well I need your help and the manager again said I'm busy and hung up. Which was super frustrating for everyone. Kiki gets 5 stars but the manager gets 0!!! Very unprofessional.

Very very rude workers. They overcharged me on miles , I only went 5. I had to pay for 15. They didnt show me my truck, had to go outside and find it on my own. They had no utility dolly's for rent. My experience was horrible. The woman had a attitude. They were eating chick-fil-a at the desk while ringing me up.

New office personnel need additional training, especially in your computet system, as part of their on boarding process. They're struggling and it shows. They're getting the job done, though, but could use some support.
