Staff at this store is on the ball in helping get people set up.
lynn L.Dishonest. They said I didn't fill the tank to where it was when I started and added $22 to the bill after I left. I called and said that I had a receipt for the gas I put in (drove only 10,5 miles). I was able to get a refund for the amount, but it was time consuming.

LEEROY A.The personal were wonderful, but they did have the truck size I reserved nor a utility dolly available. The truck size was a 26ft which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It all worked out fine.

Anita H.I ran from u-haul every single week I'm a moving company called scout moving I drove 22 miles and they put 12 gallons of gas in it a cost of $95 everybody knows it's not 2 miles per gallon and that's criminal.

The problem was on the back door- one of the of the locking mechanism were broken and I figured this out when it slammed into me from the wind. Caught my back and arm it.

Robby S.Wheel bearing failed on the trailer, and they logged it as an accident. Clearly it's a failed bearing, so that should be equipment failure. Had to call for road side assistance twice. First time I stopped for gas, the gas fill tube was broken, and gas poured out from under truck. Wasted over 6 hours waiting for assistance, paid about $3000.00, and still got hit with a $27+ charge after dropping off, when I really should have gotten a discount for my trouble. But since we live under a facsist regime, us poor people exist to make sure the big globalist corporations are able to rape us of our money.

Phillip S.Van I reserved was not at location. Was given a larger truck, however then had to purchase insurance (which doubled cost) and was told only could get truck if I got back in less time than the 4 hours I requested. Rushed back but then gotta extra charged for a 5 mile total trip because gas marker was in middle of red. If I hadn't agreed to rush back with truck I would had no truck for the day.

Staff stated there were no units available and unsure why I was able to reserve a unit on line or over the phone the day before. A staff member walked the entire facility and stated if I was willing to wait a couple hours one may be available as there was a previous tenant moving out. I received a call a few hours later stating there was an open unit and I would have first priority to it. Staff handled the situation very well. My next issues deals with pricing of moving items at location. Prices on labels do not match what they ring up as. I've questioned this multiple times and even taken pictures showing that there is inaccurate pricing on the labels and shelves. I have never been offered an adjustment even when I have directly asked for it. I am just told that prices vary which is very, this is extremely frustrating expecting to pay one thing when it's really 3-6$ more per item.

ARMANDO G.The space in front of my unit was dark and there was no light inside the unit. We moved units once to have a bigger space and during the moving, the employee gave false information and the unit was occupied. So, we moved to another one and the employee had to move a mini fridge that was being stored. After we were in, the next visit the access card did not work and had to get them reassigned to the right unit. These are all issues that were solved and not a huge deal, but the biggest problem was the dimly lit storage unit and hallway. I had to go to this unit often by myself, a woman, and I never felt comfortable or safe. We moved to a new location that works better for us, but I would suggest making sure everything is well lit in the future.

I was told over the phone I would have 26' truck for the same price, but when we picked up the truck they tried to charge full price. They eventually agreed, but I shouldn't have to argue about something Uhaul called to tell me. It should have been noted on my reservation.

TRAVIS E.We had reserved a cargo van,but were called a few days in advance of the date for which the van was needed to let us know that the vans were being reported as stolen. They offered us a replacement 10 foot box truck at the same rate. We arrived to pick up the truck at the designated time, only to find out that the 10 foot truck was not available. They did offer a 15-foot truck at the same rate, which we went ahead took, since we needed the vehicle at that time. Unfortunately, the gas mileage was very low. I appreciate their willingness to substitute to make it work. They definitely did what they could to make it work, but it was frustrating.
JOHN S.Fire the local people and start over. The local U-Haul did NOT deliver my U-Pods as contracted so we rented a truck and emptied them ourselves. The local U-Haul failed to close the account afterward, and harassed us about payments.

Brandon P. | Premières impressionsThe 5x9 trailer that was added on free was not added to my reservation. They had sent the trailer out the day before. They added a box trailer which was fine. I also reserved an appliance dolly as well and they didn't have that. I made a reservation a week ahead and still couldn't have everything I reserved. I asked if they could see if any other uhaul in Joplin had a dolly and they said no they couldn't. I was also told that I had up to 216 miles included but was charged almost an extra 20 dollars for going over 41 miles I believe because instead of 216 like I was told it was actually 136 miles included.

KARL D.Had a reservation for Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. contacted my local office in the morning to see if I can get my unit early. It was not available so when I arrived at the location for the unit at my time the unit that I reserved was still not available. I received a different unit if I knew I was going to be giving a different unit I would have took it in the morning so I can get what I needed done sooner everything was broken on this vehicle every panel every clip every door trim there was a very hard shimmy to the left of the vehicle and it barely drove straight the attendant told me to go with it when I returned back because of they way it drove. None of the accessories were in the truck that should have been. Over all bad experience.

Then we just had issues with the lock being put on when we were paid up, them not having a unit on auto-pay.. one time we went in and someone cut the power and we were stuck in the bay.. umm, i had a card that was about to expire so they cut it off and charged me a late fee... umm there's more... it was non-stop at this storage facility. We have never been more happy to be out of a unit. It was worth taking a day to move it to another.

Staff was very nice and helpful as could be but we would've chosen a different location if the website was accurate.

Paid that bill on line 1 week later collection called again and charged another $30 and raised my rate from 75 to 129/month. PAIID AGAIN!!!! Called to dispute, Manage was suppose to call me. No call 4 days later. NExt step dispute charges. Wait don't forget the UHAUL 250 charge for >?????????

john d. | Premières impressionsNot only did you make me believe my belongings were safe and secure, you lead me to believe I had piece of mind. Both the afore mentioned comments are false. My whole family stored our belongings in a u-haul facility, and because we made this mistake we are left with nothing. Every single item was stolen in broad daylight, while your employees watched. I have the only key card, part of your top notch security, yet somehow it was bypassed and intruders gained entry to my unit. I purchased my keys from you, yet other people had the same keys. The video recording obviously was not functioning because if it had been, this would have been resolved already. So, in conclusion, my experience with u-haul was the nightmare i wake up to daily. Precious belongings that can never be replaced have vanished and your doing nothing. I have waited for over three weeks for a response and so far, other than the general manager of the joplin 7th Street location next to wal mart, accusing me of stealing my own things and being anything but helpful I have not heard or seen anything to facilitate or remedy this horrendous tragedy. I give this company a negative rating. Less than zero.

I had even called after reserving the unit and was told it would be available. Having a reservation number and email telling me I have a unit, but showing up and it not being available is a horrible way to do business. We will never reserve storage space with Uhaul again if this is how you operate.

I was on my way back out to get another load when I came around the corner, I startled the couple & the smell of paint about knocked me out. I couldn't get outside to the fresh air quick enough before I thought I would choke to death. Since this facility is supposed to be monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week that behaviour was very upsetting cause they are not only putting their life endanger they also put mine as well. And they werent the only people I saw or definately could smell what they were doing either. Not sure if I will keep my belongings in this facility very long. But it helped in my time of need at the moment.

Asked for a specific locker number because it was close to the loading area and was moving big heavy furniture without much help and was told it was rented and for a month no one ever moved into the locker you can tell by the tag on the door. Went to rent a truck and was told none are available when the lot was literally full of trucks. It seems like staff is honestly just lazy. Will never rent a storage unit here again.

Crystail Y. | Premières impressionsStorage unit had many bugs inside and mice droppings/urine. We did not have any food items stored in the unit. When asked, management said it was our problem. Recently, we were notified that during an inspection they found that our unit no longer had a lock on it. They said they would place a lock on it and that we needed to visit the office the next time we were in to get it unlocked. When we visited the office they did not have a key. No one had actually secured the unit. The worker also informed me that there was no way anyone could actually cut my lock off without ruining their door (it was a special storage unit lock, circular, and a combination lock). It is a mystery how it disappeared, but did not make me feel very safe. Fortunately, we did not see any missing items.

When I originally paid for the month(because they don't offer weekly rates) they said i wold be prorated and refunded the excess since I wouldn't be using the whole month. I moved out. Didnt get any money back then was told it was too bad. My loss. When they can rent the unit for the remainder of the 2 weeks and still have the money I paid for those 2 weeks. Its really crappy and ridiculous that Uhaul can double rent basically.
