ARNOLD JMake sure the damn trailer is attached to the trailer hitch so the trailer doesn't come loose and slam into the back of the car. What a horrible experience and no apologies at the time this occurred. Awful.

jacob mUsing your driver license should be all you need. The technician wanted to take a quick photo of me I asked why it's being taken and the answer was "just incase you don't bring it back. I told her no and I felt insulted. Bummer!!
JAMES BThe reason I rated this property average is in regards to the truck I rented. The air conditioning blows HOT air. The truck has issues starting because the transmission does not always go into park. One must finesse the shifter until the park position light goes on. Everyone I spoke to was wonderful and had no issues getting air put into the front tire.

Stanley DArmando was very friendly, professional, informative, and helpful. The Lehi location off McKellips & Pasadena in Mesa used to forward our calls to remote people that would tell us to speak to the Lehi location and we would go around in circles trying to get help. However, the last few times we have called Armando answered the phone and was helpful. When we rented 3 different trucks, checked out of our unit, he was helpful and friendly in person too. He really changed my perspective of uhaul in a positive way.

robert bThe day I got the trailer they had to go through 3 different trailers before they found 1 that all the lights worked. Then while using it to empty storage it got a bolt in one of the tires. I went back to the pick up location to get them to change the tire but uhaul locations don't maintain the equipment. So they recommended just to change to another trailer which took 3 tries to find one then lied to me that all the lights worked whitch they didn't and I ended up driving across the country without lights So I won't recommend or ever rent anything from uhaul again.

There was one male staffer, and one female staffer that is in desperate need of professional and public etiquette, in other words they were just plain rude. I noticed that it changed with certain clients.. Second, I needed a 10X15 and the only thing I was offered was a 10X15 which was 3 five X10 with small doors and obstacles in the units that made my experience with you fairly difficult and unpleasant. The inconvenience of having a large door and no obstacles in the units would have been worth it.so on this accord I feel I was overcharged at your convenience.moving large items in an out was a nightmare. Larry MThe people were helpful and nice at that location, but the app was hard to use. Frist the truck that we rented was not ready. We had a hard time loading my ID. When we finished the check in, we never received the confirmation of which truck was ours and how to get the key. We had to go into the office when they opened to find out the information we needed on our truck.

LYNNELL Mpick up was terrible, but i did that on mobile and didn't interact with anyone. It took much longer than expected and advertised and would be much better if there were an email sent with expectations as soon as you book mobile pickup, as I would have elected to work with someone given how terrible that process is. when dropping off, no one came out to meet me at the truck after 20 minutes of waiting. I went inside and waited an additional 15 minutes to be seen, where someone took my keys and told me "I'm good to go". I then got a $20 charge for not staying around for my turn in despite the fact that i was told to leave, because they were too busy to do a proper check out. I've used uhaul before, but from 3rd party dealers, i don't know if i'd ever go to a uhaul location again.

Ruth G | Expérience généraleThere were issues with the original rental in Scottsdale, so I had to load the truck in Scottsdale and drive to Mesa to attach the trailer and load the car, set me back 90 minutes and cost me more money, I was supposed to get a refund which never materialized. I hold Scottsdale accountable for this, not Mesa.

The boss was PERFECT in every respect but several wasted hours at the desk by his staff whilst resubmitting previously held and checked data was extremely frustrating and unnecessary.

I don't know how I was suppose to keep receipts for personal items that were lost. For example, a deceased family members tribal ID was stolen and that's all we had left of them. Along with paper work, and passed down baby clothes. When I was told I could get a unit inside for the same price, they only meant for a month. But the inside storage was a lot more secure.

Hopefully For new coming customers they get someone that listens and isn't so preoccupied with their own agenda. I'd rent here again if the rates weren't so high. I felt my things were secure the locking of the door at 6pm took some getting used to and paying 10 extra a month for access in the evening hours I felt was extreme. Others than petty little things that could easily be adjusted I feel the facility is very nice.

The space was not air tight, dirt water and debris came in through/under the door and covered our sons mattress and his belongings. It was so bad. Office hours were not flexible but the price of the u it kept going up and up. He was out of town for a lot of the time and therefore didn't go to the storage unit but when he could, it was after the business hours and he had no access. He's glad to get his now damaged personal belongings out of this Uhaul storage.

And it was bad enouph to tell everybody i know and as many people i can reach out to just how bad he was at his job of taking care of the costomer. I was there to rent a unit and ended up backing out of the contract when he was slaming down each bill as he counted it. Strange

There weren't any other units available in the size I wanted, it was necessary to rent a larger unit. The person assisting offered the 2nd month free, so I accepted. I really didn't feel like I had a choice since I had rented one of your trucks for the move. He tried to find me a unit at another location, but there wasn't one close by.

maria m | Expérience généraleNot what was expected when my wife tried to move in on Monday. First upon opening the unit no lock was provided in the unit that was charges to us. The only item there was a destroyed old rat trap. Since we rented online we weren't able to get a staff member. We needed a 10 x 5 and what was rented was a 5x 10. This location didn't have one so we needed to cancel our lease and was charged another $107 for 4 days of not using this facilities storage A443 unit. Lease agreement should not be done online until the unit is viewed. We weren't able to get back to this facility until Friday afternoon and staff at this particular location just wasn't helpful. Very disappointing to know that if the unit doesn't work out that they take your money anyway. Unbelievable!

The overall building is nice and the staff is amazing! But I feel like someone should be cleaning up all the dead bugs and rat poop that's down every hallway

Aaron J | Expérience généraleZero issues with the actual building and my storage unit. Where you failed me was using common sense when I checked out this week. I understand the policy to not refund a remaining balance if the customer elects to move their items out before the 30-day rental period has expired. I was not expecting a refund, even though I had paid for a full month and still had half remaining. I know the climate today, house prices are high, storage units are hard to find, and you probably have a waiting list. So, essentially, you get my full month rental, and you can turn right around and fill it right away. BUT, when I asked if I could have a couple of boxes to pad a delicate piece of furniture, YOUR employee charged me $6.00. It's not about the six dollars, it is about common sense. You already have my money for a full month rent, yet now can double your money for half a month with another renter. Common sense says, thanks for your business, here are a couple of boxes. Seems greedy and poor adaption to the situation to charge me six dollars. And it's not about the money, it's about using your head.

I had no choice but to take the 10x 20 at twice the cost. They never offered to reduce the price nor did off any other solutions. I was very disappointed that it was rented without my knowledge. What's the point of a reservation?

However, it stated online that I would be provided a free lock for the unit and it would be inside the unit. It wasn't there and I had to go back home to get a lock which wasted some much needed time.

So I had no unit then was told they had a10x20 and it was outside now I would have to pay 163 a month not happy at all. All of my families stuff fill a corner of the unit. I would love a Unit inside and some kind of discount cause that's what I reserved and was told was waiting for me. We drove down here all the way from Maine to help my mother out cause she is ill. So money for us is tight and to jump from 78 and change to 163 is going to hurt us. So if it can be fixed we greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much. Paul M.

I was not treated like a customer and I was even threatend by some U-Haul employee who was very rude and thought I was going to have to protect myself physically bc how this guy from U-Haul was very aggressive with me and I don't think a paying customer should be treated like that. Another employee on East main Street sent me on a wild goose chase with wrong addresses to U-Haul storage locations. Out of all the associates from U-Haul in Arizona there was one who knew all about customer service and his name was Anthony from your U-Haul on 219 E McKellips Rd. Maybe Anthony should teach the rest of your team on how they should treat paying customers. Plus I did have a witness with me to verify everything I am reporting

Not only have I been a customer numerous times, but I was also an Authorized Delear for Uhaul with at least 17 to 20 trucks at a location I moved away from.In my time running a Uhaul services, not under any condition have I treated any customer with the irreverence they gave me. I trained my employees how to speak to customers with dignity and respect, no matter the situation, the customer will always be treated the right way. They need help. Upon my arrival, I immediately did not feel welcomed. I did not feel the hospitality that I have always received from Uhaul's great customer service. The employees did not seem to care in the slightest. They have no regard for customers' concerns. I asked Margaret, one of the employees, if they had a lost and found because we were missing boxes with our belongings. She quickly responded with a "NO." I would not be complaining if she had only said no, but she further said, "ME PERSONALLY, IF I FOUND A BOX OUTSIDE, I WILL TOSS IT IN THE GARBAGE AND THEN WRITE A NOTE HERE." We then asked for the general manager hoping that he could be a little more helpful than Margaret. I asked the same question and he said "RIGHT HERE" and pointed beside him where there was nothing. I felt utterly disrespected. That is not how you handle customer service. They had an immense amount of attitude at this location and they don't seem to care about their customers and concerns. This wasn't the first time I had a terrible experience at this same location. They had the same inferior attitude and inattentive work ethic when I was checking in my equipment and getting a storage unit the first time I arrived. The general manager Eric didn't seem to care as well. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!!! Go somewhere else that will give u respect and treat you like a valuable customer.

That was the last straw I was paying $63 for a climate control and same size storage bay previously when I lived in Laveeen last year. You might want to adjust your pricing.. just suggesting!

She let me know that for a small monthly fee, we could have access 24/7. I passed on that option as I cannot imagine a situation where we would need to park or access our RV after the standard access hours. We tried the card and it was noted that it may take a few hours until it was activated. I was provided with a temporary code so I could go to the site and have any questions addressed while I was still on the premises. I took a look and confirmed that there was a dump station as that was important to me. Maggie was kind, helpful and provided excellent customer service. I would recommend this Uhaul location to friends and family.

We were offered a 15' truck but weren't sure our stored belongings would fit. Maggie searched every local location for a truck for us and was able to secure a trailer (free of charge) to make up the difference in cu sq ft. She also added an extra day and mileage. The trailer was at another location and the dealer there flat out refused to give us the trailer unless we paid for it. In the end, made the 15' trailer work (hubby is great at Tetris). Maggie again came to our rescue the next day when my husband was checking out and closing the storage unit contract, which was in my name. She authorized the closure which we very much appreciated. Maggie went above and beyond our expectations, she deserves recognition as a valuable asset to your location, Eric. Thank you.

Placing mice traps can be a good thing but if one has been caught in a closed storage; how do you get them out if the person does not come for days to notice the catch. R B | Online Move InThere was only one employee who I want to work with from the entire staff and that is Miss Maggie. It seems that she is the only one there who knows how to talk to customers, has knowledgable information about UHAUL, and is professional to customers. Every other person (except for another woman) was unprofessional and it was confusing/difficult to work with them. When I went to close the storage unit facility out another male employee, Tyca I believe his name is, told me I was good to go but didn't go and check my unit at all. He seemed to be in a hurry as he was getting ready to finish his shift. At the time I had believed him until a week later when I received a late notice saying that I was fined for a late payment. I called UHAUL and talked to a woman on the phone who was able to fix the entire mess up but I was still annoyed that I had to go through that ordeal when I was told I had nothing else further to worry about from a different employee. Additionally, we had rented a 15 foot UHAUL, dolly, and car transport that same day so I had different moving pieces that made the entire day more complicated for us. After Miss Maggie had left for the day, I felt that my services were disorderly and I had to get in front of an employee if I wanted any help at all - otherwise I would be waiting a very long time until someone asked me if I needed help. Overall, I will rate this Mesa UHAUL as average because Maggie is a wonderful employee but the other men are unprofessional and don't seem to communicate well with each other or the customers. Furthermore, I'm very happy that when I called my problem was fixed. I wouldn't suggest this UHAUL to a friend though because of how many issues I encountered unless they strictly do their business with Maggie or another woman at the establishment.

Deborah L | Expérience généraleI started out at one uhaul facility on Apache Blvd and the 101 I rented there for about four months then the guy I was sharing space with started to hang out there a bit to much and started associating with some other people there and all them started to be in my unit as well so I thought the best thing to do was remove myself from the situation and at the same time my family member was talking to the president of the company and was letting him know what was going I thought I was all good and wanted to stay with uhaul so I rented another space at mckellips and Mesa Dr...it's called uhaul riverview....I even payed an extra ten dollars this month for the 24 HR drive in...well within one week they came and told me my 24 HR service was being takin away due to what was going on at the last unit I had and I had to have office hours to be able to get into my unit...no not gate hours as though that's what I thought office hours 7 am to 7 pm..I was really upset I started to cry cause I did nothing wrong buy move out and distance myself from the issue.i also asked if they was going to return my ten dollars for that service and they told me no they kept it..so I went through the rest of that month with those rules And when I went to pay on my unit I asked if my hours could be back to normal I was. Asking for gate hours at this time no 24 HR thing ...I was told they couldn't do it cause of the issue at the other unit at a totally different facility and I did nothing but move..I told Eric the manager there that I was going to move my thing then and give my money to someone who respected my money and time...I would never recommend uhaul to anyone I was treated as if I did something wrong and I even had to pay for it so if anyone would like to know go to right space storage they are cheaper the space is bigger and the employees there treat you with respect and kindness....Broadway and long more in Mesa check them out stay away from uhaul they only want your money

When I got to my destination I was told I would only get a unit of up to 10x10, if they had one available. Otherwise they could only give me a 5x10 unit. As you know the contents of a full 20 ft truck will not fit in a 5x10 unit. After much discussion the storage manager Maggie decided, out of the goodness of her heart to give me two 5x10 units but only if she had them side by side, which luckily she did. Going to another location would have been costly since I had to return the truck to that location to get the free month since I had already dropped the car trailer off there the day before. It was only with a lot of work and adjusting to get my belongings to fit. I only needed the unit a week, as I had anticipated. Checking out was better since Maggie wasn't there. She was borderline rude, condescending to customers and other staff, and made me feel like she was doing me huge favors. I later learned she was wrong. A family member who moved the week before, and rerurned to another location got a 10x15 unit, same size truck, same origination point, one week earlier. I will not return to that location and will tell anyone who asks not to use that location either. I rented a trailer to move my belongings out, from another location, and they were 180 degrees better. I wish I had gone there for my storage but they were full.
