The lady literally called my emergency contact and said I had to give her a number of someone that was going to answer bc it is required for them to call the emergency contact and get their permission. Like WTF. I've rented from U-Haul all my life and never have they ever had to physically call my emergency contact and get their ok that they're willing to be responsible if something happens to the truck. I had to bother my 90 yr old mother with this nonsense BS call. And then I have her my major credit card, a Visa, and she tried asking me what bank it was through. Such an invasion of privacy. I told her I've rented trucks from UHaul several times and never been asked this kind of stuff.KIMBERLY C.

Love the GIRL POWER TEAMS on both ends. That part was great. Where UHaul doesn't deliver is on the phone end. Waits times are way to long. I would call the local store and someone from the 800 no would answer then say I need to call the local store. I got reps several times on the phone who had no knowledge of anything I was talking about. In fact I knew more about UBOX than she did. More training would be my advice before u let someone give out incorrect information. The UBOX IDEA is great though and price was good too.Charla C.

Not what was expected when my wife tried to move in on Monday. First upon opening the unit no lock was provided in the unit that was charges to us. The only item there was a destroyed old rat trap. Since we rented online we weren't able to get a staff member. We needed a 10 x 5 and what was rented was a 5x 10. This location didn't have one so we needed to cancel our lease and was charged another $107 for 4 days of not using this facilities storage A443 unit. Lease agreement should not be done online until the unit is viewed. We weren't able to get back to this facility until Friday afternoon and staff at this particular location just wasn't helpful. I used your truck for 2 hours and it cost me 140 dollars i put gas in the vehicle and basically was called a liar by the owner of this location . As far as I'm concerned the extra charges were not explained throughly and I will never use uhaul again.Erin J.

the representative was extremely rude, the truck was dirty with left over dried fruits in the cabin It happened before with the same person but I thought he just had a bad day. I do not recommend this location to anyone as long as that guy is there or ask for the lady or the younger guy He lied about the mileage and refused to aswer questions like " how long does the 19,99$ cover? Refused to give details about pricing instead was answering us with another question. Never looked up at us, no eye contact keep looking at the computer or down. My truck had a very low oil life, along with a bad TPI sensor. There was also a cord that broke in the truck leaving me stranded in a gas station for almost two hours. The only resolution they had when I got to the store to drop off the truck was a savings of $23. After having to miss work, having a broken truck that was supposed to be safe and reliable, I won't be returning to this location.Taylor F.

My initial drop off location was Rocky's Tire shop in Phoenix. I was not advised that it was a self service location. I rented a 20 foot truck and vehicle trailer. When I arrived at Rocky's, it was a small lot with broken down cars everywhere. The fenced lot where I needed to drop off truck/trailerwas blocked by multiple non Uhaul vehicles. The lot was so small and crowded with broken down cars that I would not be able to even drive in half of the equipment to return it. I called Uhaul customer service and they directed to a Uhaul dealer that was able to meet all my expectations.JOE G.

When I picked up the truck and drove the truck out of the parking lot at U-Haul, I noticed that the steering was pulling to the right. The whole trip from Arizona to Louisiana the steering was pulling to the right and made the drive hard.Jerry M.

First of all I had my reservation and went in to pick up the truck. The lady tells me I have requested online pick up I tell her no i had said I'll come come in. She kept on repeating over and over again that I had online pick up.. i told her that I wouldn't even know. How to do an online pick up. She comes back with "well I guess it's time for me to learn" She says she had to. Well we finally got passed that than she says I only scanned the back pf my ID I said no when it asked me to scan my ID I had done both front and back she says I only scanned the back. She sends me a link to rescan I do it again just the front as she requested and I hit done and again she's telling I'm doing the back At this point I'm wanting to just leave and forget it all. Leaving me standing there she gets up and goes to the other end of the counter and begins putting brochures on the countets regarding uhaull. I ask her if she can help and she tells me to hold on. There was another lady there that is hearing all this and keeps looking at me like wow. I ask her is there any other way to get my ID in because the card reader says slide ID and she says we don't slide Id's Next she verified the return time of 4 o'clock and I said yes because the lady I had spoke to the day before told me that if I wasn't going to have the truck returned by 4 if I just call and let them know ill be ok with put being charged. She says no that's not true I'll be charged again so she extended it until 5. The girl that was on the phone and the one in the uhaul sounded to be the same person. They were both rude. She gives me the keys and says it's parked out front. I tell her there's a bunch of them which one. She points out the window and at the camera.. this is not acceptable customer service. I get the truck and the seat don't move forward and the whole truck just rattled like the doors were not closed all the way. When returning it the 2 guys that came out were great. For a company I have used several times this was by far THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! From the initial call 4 days prior to scheduled pick up date advising me that they may not have my reserved truck available the day of my move...to the 2 day before my scheduled move date to advise they do have a truck but I had to drive 66 miles to pick it up instead of the 0,5 miles originally planned...to the awful experience at the pick up location where the customer service rep was a rude af and started raising her voice (for which she did apologize later), advising me that since someone else didn't return the truck they had reserved I was now going to have to drive another 2 hours to Tucson to get a truck, to the other woman who pointed at our truck in the lot, walked away and told us to use the app to start the check out process...I was fuming! In all honesty, in the end I got 2 days of the truck for free which greatly helped due to good ol monsoon weather in Arizona! So that was great! Upon return I used to app to check out...easy as pie and thankful I didn't have to deal with anyone from this location again. Recieved a disturbing call after we left the drop off location which the man simply hung up on me and didn't call back. Will never use this location nor U-Haul EVER AGAIN!MONIQUE G.

Customer service was terrible. I called to make a reservation change and was done sucessfully. When I arrived they did not have the truck. Everything worked great. The truck was very fuel economical, and the the tow dolly worked great. The only problem was the 24/7 return. I couldn't get anything to work on my phone, and it kept kicking me out to start over,and the signs said that I would be charged a fee if I didn't do this right. I'm still not sure I did it right. Perhaps a little more info on the fact that you'll be asked to double check the condition of the truck from an unexpected text message with pictures that are small and unclear. I reserved my van rental 2 weeks before my pick up date and selected the 24 hour pickup as I needed it at 5:30 in the morning. When I got there, I was not able to pick up the can and was told I had to wait until the location opened. I called customer service and was on the phone for an hour. They blamed the location for forgetting the keys. When the location opened, they blamed the company / website for advertising the vans as being able to be picked up outside of the location hours. I was late to work and lost 2 hours with my van rental. I will not be paying full price for this and I will be reaching out to Eric Gronning on this issue.Clayton D.

Zero issues with the actual building and my storage unit. Where you failed me was using common sense when I checked out this week. I understand the policy to not refund a remaining balance if the customer elects to move their items out before the 30-day rental period has expired. I was not expecting a refund, even though I had paid for a full month and still had half remaining. I know the climate today, house prices are high, storage units are hard to find, and you probably have a waiting list. So, essentially, you get my full month rental, and you can turn right around and fill it right away. BUT, when I asked if I could have a couple of boxes to pad a delicate piece of furniture, YOUR employee charged me $6.00. It's not about the six dollars, it is about common sense. You already have my money for a full month rent, yet now can double your money for half a month with another renter. Common sense says, thanks for your business, here are a couple of boxes. I had submitted a reservation for a 5 x 10 and when I went to get the unit on 6/29/2021, I was advised the unit was sold, leaving me with no unit. I had no choice but to take the 10x 20 at twice the cost. They never offered to reduce the price nor did off any other solutions. I was very disappointed that it was rented without my knowledge. Everything was easy and smooth booking the room and getting the access codes. However, it stated online that I would be provided a free lock for the unit and it would be inside the unit. The facilities were clean. The staff however were rude anytime I spoke with them at my location. If I was 1 day late they locked me out and called my friends non stop almost to the point of harassment. When I called the facility the person that answered says hi I'm going to put you on hold. Well one thing I was upset about is I had a reservation for a 5 x 10 x8 climate control and got there and was told first come first serve. So I had no unit then was told they had a10x20 and it was outside now I would have to pay 163 a month not happy at all. All of my families stuff fill a corner of the unit. I would love a Unit inside and some kind of discount cause that's what I reserved and was told was waiting for me. We drove down here all the way from Maine to help my mother out cause she is ill. I've been a resident in the Scottsdale/Mesa area for 60 years and this is by far the cleanest, best maintained and well managed Uhaul's in the valley. Eric and his staff are terrific! I would highly recommend this particular storage facility to anyone looking for a safe, secure, clean and well maintained facility for your storage needs and I would definitely return to this Uhaul for any future storage or rental needs if necessary.
